A video showing the golf caddy of US President Donald Trump discreetly helping the President cheat at the game has gone viral, amassing millions of views. The footage is from the President’s trip to Scotland, where he was seen playing golf at his Turnberry golf course.
The video shows the golf caddies walking next to Trump, who is seated in a golf cart. One of the caddies is then seen walking ahead and discreetly dropping the golf ball to the ground in a prized spot. Trump then steps out of the vehicle and pretends that it’s the shot he made.
Netizens soon began to roast Trump, and the phrase “commander in cheat” was soon trending on social media.
“LMAO for the morons that think Trump doesn’t cheat at golf and wins all those club championships fair and square….watch his caddie here (sic),” one user said.
Another said: ‘Caddy did that so smoothly. Can only imagine how many times he’s done it.’
The Atlantic’s Tom Nichols was one who reposted the video with a scathing comment. “The video of Trump’s caddy doing an Oddjob Slazenger drop isn’t a big deal; cheating at golf isn’t nearly the worst thing about Trump,” he said.
‘Golf Force One’
Trump’s visit to Turnberry Golf Course also drew eyeballs after a heavily fortified gold cart made its debut as the new addition to the President’s security detail.
The cart was soon dubbed ‘Golf Force One’. However, Trump chose to travel on his regular cart. The fortification of the cart came as Trump survived an alleged assassination attempt while golfing 20 months ago, before the Presidential elections.
An unnamed expert told The Telegraph that the vehicle’s heavy armor is evident from the distinctive black band around the windscreen. “The windscreen is a giveaway, as are the side panels, doors, and the large panel at the rear above the load tray,” he added.
Trump is currently on a five-day visit to Scotland. On Sunday, he was seen playing two rounds of golf on Sunday before meeting EU Commission president Ursula von der Leyen for trade talks. The President will also meet UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and First Minister John Swinney.
