over the decades Cleveland have been known to be a specialist wedge brand one of which you will find in store well in today’s video we’re going to be looking at the RTX 6 RTX full face 2 the cbx 4 and cbx full face 2 wedges if you want to dial your wedge game in this season look no further than the Cleveland wedges so the question you may be asking is why are we actually talking about four different wedges and before we go into the actual Tech of these wedges I just want to break them down into two categories we’ve got the more sort of traditional looking wedge here in the RTX and then we’ve got the cbx range which is actually the cavity back version which I actually think is going to work so well for so many golfers out there but think about your set that you use in your bag it’s probably going to be a cavity back iron and therefore the blend into these wedges might just work really well for you both the RTX and cbx wedges come with ultis zip grooves this is where the grooves are tightly packed deep and sharp for performance and when I talk about performance I’m talking about better control around the greens talking about getting more spin on that golf ball so when you do miss the green you’ve got a better chance in getting up and down then we’ve got Hydro zip technology which is a dynamic blast and Laser M lines which give us a little bit of a roughness on the face for conditions like we’ve got today where we’ve had plenty of rain overnight we’ve got a little bit of duw on the ground which is going to make getting control just that little bit more challenging I’ve actually seen this technology in previous generations of Cleveland W so I was quite happy to see it in this new Range which gives me the confidence that I can get up and down from the these wet conditions another great feature that they’ve brought into this range is the zip core technology moving weight around the head positioning that CG right where you strike that golf ball gives us the consistency and performance that we’re all looking for and then moving into the full face options for both these wedges we’ve got this high profile and as you can see these grooves run right the way to the edge of these wedges now I really like this because when you’re in those bunkers and you’re opening up that club face you’re getting all that friction and control on the outside perimeter of the wedge which ultimately gives us a better opportunity to get up and down more often from these bunkers and then going back to the beginning of this video where I talked about the cbx and cbx4 being a cavity back I kind of got the sense that I would see more of a chunky looking Club down by the ball well I’m not actually getting that it actually feels quite traditional when I set it up behind that golf ball but what I am getting is that sense ofi that sense of forgiveness when I’m going in with full shots into the greens if I do Mish hit it slightly I’m still getting the ball flight that I expect to see from my wedge and then from a confidence Point again you know when you look at the sole of this club you’re seeing maybe just a little bit of a bigger sole so if you do tend to catch the ball just that little bit heavy I think you’re just going to get a little bit more help with this particular wedge well I hope you now have a better understanding of what Cleveland are offering from their wedges this year and they’ve definitely cemented themselves again as a specialist wedge brand they’ve got so many options available when it comes to their Loft their bounce and their grinds which is why it’s so important to go and get fit for your wedges so book yourself in for a fitting with your foremost professional and see which wedge from Cleveland is going to work best for your game [Music]

  1. Would you suggest the CBX’s or the RTX’s to a 10 handicap? I tend to pick the ball, so I’m worried the extra bounce on the cbx would cause me to thin it more…. But I also tend to hit out of the toe quite often, which leads me to think I should be using those over my current bladed wedges for some extra help when not middling it every time… opinion?
