Tony Finau spoke to the media ahead of the 3M Open about the big premiere of Happy GIlmore 2
Yeah, that was so fun. It was I’ve never been, you know, a part of anything like that. It’s uh, you know, my short cameo and and Happy Gilmore 2 was fun to be a part of. Uh, fun to shoot with Adam Sandler to be asked to even do it. It was really an honor. You know, being a huge Happy Gilmore fan growing up. So, uh, you know, I think uh, Friday it comes out on Netflix and it’ll be interesting to see the the reviews, but I really enjoyed it. It was funny um as you would expect um from Adam Saddler and um you’re going to you know people are going to see a lot of guys a lot of familiar faces from the PJ tour on there and and I just enjoyed being one of them. Um what was it like filming being a Yeah, it was incredible to be there to film. Uh I was fortunate to have my son there um who has a cameo on it as well. He played my caddy um just in a very small scene which was a lot of fun. But Adam Sandler couldn’t have been uh a better human, you know, for me around me and my son. It was cool to see him in his element. You know, he’d be acting and since he was directing the film as well, he’d come back into the director’s chair, rewatch, and so just, you know, seeing him transform into and just do what he does was really cool, you know, to kind of pull back the curtain and see what goes into making a movie, being part of something like that. Again, uh it it’s I can’t even say it was a dream come true cuz I I don’t think I ever dreamed to even be in uh in a movie, let alone uh a sequel to Happy Gilmore, a movie that I loved growing up. So, so for me, just uh really ju just honored to have been a part a small part of something like that. Have you been able to watch it with your family in the movie? Not yet. Yeah, it doesn’t come out until Friday, so you know, my kids are anxious to watch it. I my wife and I I took my wife to the premiere and we both loved it. uh enjoyed it and again and it was an experience that uh was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. you know, having the green carpet, uh, you know, you’re kind of to be, I guess, a movie star for an evening for an evening, even in the, you know, the small part that I played was, uh, was pretty exciting.
