How did I find this Budget golf course in Bangkok? πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡

You speak of distant fairways calling 57 in Bangkok where the sun is watch. Hello and welcome back to Farang Golf. Today it’s the 22nd episode of me playing all the golf courses here in Bangkok and we are playing the Pine on the northeastern outskirts of Bangkok and it’s a yet another budget golf course and and I’m quite happy to come and check it out. It’s Saturday. It’s a little bit busy but we are playing afternoon so I guess the course will get emptier as we go. So tag along. Let’s go. But let’s start as per usual by checking out the facilities. This is going to be longer video since I play a full round of golf. So, going to keep it brief. The Pine was opened 2004 or five and it was designed by V Entertain. I couldn’t find any information regarding the company behind it. And it might be that they changed the name after they realized that they had misspelled the Entertain in their name. I played here during the weekend and the course was super busy. So, I couldn’t really film at the restaurant, locker rooms or in the general areas. But I have to say that I was really pleased with the restaurant’s offerings. The prices were low, beer was cheap, and the food was absolutely delicious. Not much to say about the other facilities either. They had the tiniest pro shop ever, a hole in the wall where you pay your cream fees and then basic locker rooms. There were small cottages at the premises as well, so if you want to stay and play, it’s doable. I’ll leave the link in description for you to check it out. I also found a Korean restaurant and a massage shop hidden behind the clubhouse. I think this is one of those courses where Japanese and Koreans like to come and stay and play. It’s a budget golf course with some accommodation. So, they come here and and take as many rounds in as they can during their stay here in Thailand. I think it was Matt from Rookie Swing Golf that told me that the Koreans have holidays during July and they are populating some of the golf courses in Chiang Mai. So that might be the reason why it was so busy here at the Pine as well. And by the way, check out his channel. He’s a beginner golfer documenting his journey to be a better golfer. Great channel, great guy. And lastly, before we jump to the first feed, there is no driving range here. So keep that in mind if you come and play the pine top. We can play it. It’s okay. topping the firewood iron as well. That’s left, but I Yeah, come back. That was way left, but 40 yards to the green. I thinned it. That has that has been my chipping lately. better. Little bit short, but good direction. The greens look quite bad. They’ve been caught some time ago, I think. Not what I like. I like faster greens, but that’s what we have here. And these are the greens we have to play on now. Triple. Yeah. First hole. Horrible. Disastrous start. My My caddy is bringing me the triber to the tea box. I don’t see any upside at the moment. If I hit my fivewood, okay, it’s it’s going to roll to 250 yards. If I hit my driver, okay, it’s 250 yards as well. So I have no reason to play play the driver at the moment. Yeah, but it’s left. Okay, it’s too late. The ball is on the ground already. Yeah. 100 yards to the pin. This bunker in between. So I’ll I’ll take pitching and just 80 80% power. Okay. Should be on. Good shot. No little bit. Soaka. Now we have practiced the first hole and second one. We we were running a little bit on the green. Running a little bit on the green because I hit there too early. We didn’t see any players on the green. So, we thought the group in front had finished, but no, they were over the green and they were just chipping back to the green. But they let me go first and I take my five foot again. Par five, 530 yards. Let’s just get it in play. Perfect. Little bit right, but it should come back. Yep. Kick side. It’s on the fairway. If I go straight, it might it might go too far. So, I take seven and I aim at the 150 yard marker. That would be quite nice. And then I can go on a little bit to the right. Okay. Right side in the rough. Not the best of shots, but we can go three on from there. So, it’s okay. Talk. No, that was horrible shot. Horrible shot. But we are 50 yards short of the green. 52 and chip it. 40 40 yards. Ah, it was little bit short. Not too much. It came down on the fringe. If it came down on the green, I think it would have been better. Okay. Bokey 170 yards. I’ll take the six. Should be okay. Is it long? No. In the middle of the green. It was good. If I aimed at the pin, it would have been better. But I’m happy with that. Pot for birdie. Been high. Little bit left. Yeah, we take it. P today. You can you who can bully me in the comments, but I’m not putting today the the gimme putts except that I slice it. Drop area. Okay, I’ll go to the drop area. like similar shot to the first one. Little bit like fading, but then last time it it went to the water. Short. No, it’s okay. I thought it was a little bit short, but it’s okay. My caddy don’t know how much. It’s okay. I pay something. I paid I paid 2,950 part green fee caddy card and one follower. So I don’t know how much I is my part. I think it was 7 700 for follower. So I think it was 2,250 maybe. But anyways it’s weekend price. It’s it’s okay price I think. But the course is not beautiful. almost. So, 2,250 B for a weekend round is okay. It’s okay, but the problem is that you are 15 minutes away from Lotus Valley, which is my number one ranked course so far. And it’s cheaper and much better course. So, I would prefer to go there. That’s best of the day. Yeah, I think 250 and straight. Yeah, that’s little bit left. Yeah, it’s on the fairway. I don’t know why, but I somehow feel the pitching is more I I trust myself more with the pitching wedge than with 52. Like this is like 70 yards. I could play 52, but I I prefer to play this low and let it roll. Yeah, I think it’s much better result than if I try to play 52 and Okay. Right. I think it’s water. Yeah, in the water again. Just around the green would be perfect. Little bit over. Came down around the pin, but I think it’s going to roll over. I’m happy with the approach shot. Wasn’t the easiest and I I was bit lucky. It went between the branches of the tree, so I didn’t hit anything. So, and that one doesn’t go in, but I’ll take the water bogey. Happy with that. Now, we catch up with uh with some groups in front. But now it’s there’s a small shop here, so I think we can take 5 minutes break also. Okay. Beer is so cheap. Hi. Hi. Beer only 60 B. So 95 B. So three bucks for a beer and a and a big Coke. Quite good price. Try hawkip leg 160 following the wind. I take seven. I can hit easy seven. Smooth seven. It’s in the water or if I’m lucky in the bunker. Nope. Water. I hit it. Hit it here in the toe. Hit it in the toe. So we are in the water. I made it too complicated and difficult for myself now to score nicely. I top it. But it’s okay. Not not on, but it’s okay. Just hit bad. I didn’t concentrate at all. Not not blaming the course or anybody else. Sometimes when I when I play alone and make these videos, I need to wait quite a while before I can play. Like now maybe 10 minutes in the end. You you lose the rhythm little bit when you when you have to wait so long. Too much power. No, it’s okay. Yeah, I thought it was too much, but I hit it nicely now. 2 230 240. We have like 180 to the pin. I take five iron. I probably would need to buy like a high lofted hybrid for these type of situations. It’s too hard club for me to hit the five. But that’s the option we have here. I think it’s on the green. Yeah, it came down on the green. Wow. Maybe it rolled over, but I hit it good. I’m happy. Really nice. As I I said, I’m just happy if I hit my five iron pure and I did and it’s it’s on the green. But I think for birdie on this long path for it’s it’s good result. No birdie but I put good. Yeah, we jump jump in front of one one bigger group. They were nice enough to let us go first. So grateful for that. The back nine starting the the course is actually I didn’t check the scorecard but it feels it’s quite long. The par fours, par fours and par fives are quite long. What did I play? Yeah, Wangoi. Wangoi I played yesterday. So you’ve seen the video already. If you have checked it or if you haven’t, you can check it out here. But yeah, Wangoi. That was long one. They had one par five 600 yards. Oop. It’s okay. We can play that topping the ball. Yeah. Yeah. It’s like I think 120 the pin. So it’s quite good pitching distance. Little bit short. It’s okay. I can I can chip it up at it from there. I I try 56. I’ve been playing 52 today and it hasn’t been the best. So, I try 56. No, I don’t know. No power. Yeah, not good. Top starting with third then I hit it nice again. Result might be whatever. I’m happy if I if I strike the five iron here. boat little bit left OB. I think we can find it. It might be OB. Let’s go and see. Yeah, it was couldn’t find the ball. There’s like a deep rough, but it’s OB anyways. So, I should have gone back or hit provisional, but we play from here. This is my fifth Yeah, it’s alive. Horrible shot. It’s not in the water or in the bunker. So, I’m happy with that. Now, the plan is to leave all my bad shots on this hole and hopefully play better the rest the last seven holes of the day. Horrible shot, but the result is okay. Okay, just made the the putt. Yeah, part for birdie. Yeah, I I aimed left. It should have been a little bit right, I guess. But I’m I’m okay with that. Now I can fight for the par. Yeah, I think I down half of this. So I have 50/50 chance of making par here. No, this time no. We are playing all these neglected balls. I lost already my Farang Bridgestone balls. So, we are playing playing all these that I found from the bottom of my bag. The ones I never play until I really have to. Um, we have to stop at the next kiosk and buy some little bit right. Yeah, at least I didn’t lose the last ball we have. So, that’s a win. Yeah, I was going to play seven, but I take six. It’s 200 yards, but I think it’s going to fly from here. I’m aiming a little bit right and it should fly over. Or then I hit the tree. It’s good distance. It’s on the fringe on the right hand side of the green. The distance was good, but it didn’t go left. I was expecting it to fly left. Yeah, pretty good. Now we fight to make a par again. It’s the seven 7 8 ft putt. So, I missed the last one. So, now this is going to go in. I said maybe maybe 50% of these I I normally make. So yeah, part 50% of these there hasn’t been any short bar force like less than 300 yards or even three 320s or 350s. They are all 400 or close and over 400 quite long ones overall regarding the course. Have to say ruin it for you if you’re watching this until the end and wait for my score. But it’s not going to be high on the list. The only reason why you would play here is if you happen to be around this area, you already played Lotus Valley, Kascata, Lamluca, Phoenix Gold, and you wanted to try another course that is affordable, then yeah, play this. But don’t drive here from Bangkok for for a weekend call or you you can drive to Lotus Valley close by or you can go Phoenix cold close by. So rough. Oh kick fairway. [Laughter] Yeah, it went to the right and hit the trees and came back to the fairway 200 yards. Yeah, I think it’s on the green toxai bunker in front. But I haven’t been to the bunker today, so it’s good. Somebody said that you should just chip normally from the bunker. And that’s what I’ve been doing now lately. I just do a normal normal chip and I’m been get coming out. I cannot get close to the pin, but at least I come out every time with the first shot. So, doing the same here. Just chipping normally. Hopefully stay on the green and not go long. I hit it too soft now. I was scared. Just when I tell you about my bunker shot. Wrong way. Good distance. Wrong way. Oh my god. So far. Too much power. I hit it toe. Little bit towy again. Carry. Okay, it carried. But yeah, I hit it here. Little bit towy. No bad part. Yeah, par. Much needed par. Yeah, a little bit left of the of the fairway, but it’s good. F. That’s not the one. Too much left, but it’s okay. Stay on the green. Yeah. Far end of the green. Okay. Good result. Yeah, great shot. I don’t know. I haven’t hit a single shot with nine iron today, but it’s 125 pitching. I I should hit like a full pitching wedge. So, I think smooth nine iron is better play here. And there’s water in front. Behind there’s only bunker. So, Oh, over so much. Pitching wedge would have been better. Now I I didn’t go to the bunker, but I’m like way over. Not as I planned, but I’ll take it. Too much power and too little line. Yeah. So difficult. But 50% of these I make. So I made missed one. Made one. So now I miss it. Let’s see. Uphill little bit left to right. 8 ft 9 ft. 8 9 ft. Yeah, now I missed it. Three putt. Little bit thin, but it’s okay. It It rolls right side of the of the fairway rolled. Okay, here we are again at the 18th hole and it’s another episode in the books. Only thing left now is to summarize the day up for you dear viewers. I have to say that I’m I’m always sad when I go to play a course that I cannot give a great score to. In this case, the course is pretty far. The facilities weren’t the greatest. The course conditions weren’t the greatest. The caddies weren’t the greatest. The player wasn’t the greatest. And you have so many better value options even closer to Bangkok. So, I really cannot recommend coming to this course unless you happen to be around this area. A kind request before wrapping this up. Most of you never watched the videos this far and and if for some reason you did or you skipped to this part, please please subscribe to the channel. 70 80% of of you have not subscribed to the channel. In the next episode, we’re going to be playing the Royal Country Club in Samut Prahan, east side of Bangkok. And it’s a course I haven’t played for a long time, so I’m really happy to go and check it out for you. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching and see you in the next

  1. Thanks again.. loving the course rankings you give.. please keep commenting on the time to travel from BKK especially Sukhumvit as this is a major factor on deciding where to play.

  2. Hi, Thanks for the review. Guess you were not on your elements – understandable ! Looking forward to the next…HAPPY GOLFING.

  3. I will go and practice practice practice ……. if it is not raining, LOL. I hope you will see some improvements. Keep it up Buddy! See you!

  4. Thanks for the review, but it was evident from your body language you weren’t fully enjoying it. Don’t golf so many days in a row – take a break, pace yourself it’s not an endurance test! I’m looking forward to your next video πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒοΈβ€β™‚οΈ

  5. πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ Harri, thanks for the latest video/appraisal, when editing/viewing your rounds do you look at your alignment (shoulders etc) i noticed sometimes your shoulders are aligned to the left, but it could be the camera angle, i get my feet aligned ok but my shoulders are rarely straight, thus NOT many straight shots. Looking forward to the next review, cheers.πŸ™

  6. Always funny when caddies wants understandably "to cover themselves" by shouting "four" very late or when completely unnecessary. They can lose their job if they dont…
