Of all the traditions at the Masters, none is more endearing than the annual Par 3 Contest. This beloved event, held on Wednesday of Tournament week and now televised around the world, is above all a family affair. The inaugural exhibition was held in 1960 and is part competition, part stress relief on the eve of the Masters.

Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

  1. GT's hole in one is still etched in my mind as one of the great moments in the sport. Jack getting to see his grandson do that at the Par 3 comp. on The Masters week is something really special. Glad I got to see that happen live when it was streamed…
