Oh, we’re back in the club, baby. We’re back. Oh, I miss you. I miss you so much. Oh, the dog’s going to come up here, isn’t it? You want to come up here? You can come up here. Fine. Let me get you your ice mat. You can get cozy up here. Come on. One, two, three, jump. Good boy. So, we I guess we’re going to have a guest today. Yeah. Two boys, one golden dude. One golden retriever. Don’t call him a doodle now. He’s a purebred golden golden dude. Golden dude. I accidentally said that. He’s a golden boy. Mhm. All right. Hot text, right off the bat. We ready? Okay. No, LeBron James is not the best basketball player of all time. I don’t have to ask that question. I already know he is, so we can just move on with that. But starting off with basketball related. All right. Would Steph Curry still have four rings if he played in the East his whole career? I don’t know. It’s so hard to say. Um, yes, he would still have four. Mhm. I feel like we’re not going to come. Okay. Dang. Okay. Rapid fire. Should LeBron have more MVPs than Jordan? No. Oh my gosh. We’re going to get into that. Should the NCAA athletes be allowed to skip classes completely if they have NIL deals? No, you’re still you’re a college athlete. You got to go to college. Is Joe Burrow actually better than Patrick Mahomes if you go talent for talent? Is Joe Burrow better than Patrick Mahomes? No. Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL. Would the NBA be better with a 1v one tournament around the All-Star weekend? 100%. But how are you going to get people to do it? You can’t even get LeBron or Zion to dunk contest. Would Angel Ree outperform Caitlyn Clark if they swap teams? No. Caitlin Caitlin Clark’s the best WMA player of basketball of all time. Period. That’s facts. Is Prime Derrick Rose better than Prime Russell Westbrook? Yes, Dererick Rose would be better than Russell Westbrook if he never He would have been one of the best basketball players of all time if he didn’t get injured. Yeah, we’ll get into that, too. Should the NFL go full XFL and allow onside kicks every time? What? You can do it onside kick anytime? I think the NFL you have to like declare it now or something like that, but you can still do it. I don’t understand that question. Okay, maybe I require. Um, does the XFL did they require onside kicks every time? I’ve never watched an XFL game in my life. Um, is Travis Kelce more famous now because of Taylor than anything he’s done in the NFL? More people know him. Yes, because of Taylor Swift. Yes. Yeah. Fact. Like if he just dated Taylor and never played football, he would be more famous than if he never dated Taylor and only played football. That was a loaded question, but Taylor gave him his fame. Would you rather win one Super Bowl as a bench player or never win but be a Hall of Famer? Never win but be a Hall of Famer for sure, right? I guess. Who has Brett Favre won a Super Bowl? I don’t know. There’s a lot of athletes that have never won championships that are some of the best basketball players of all time. basketball, any sport, like any athlete like like you don’t have to win a Super Bowl to be the best of your of the best facts. And you make more money that way, too. All right. Is nostalgia ruining the NBA? The idea of holding on to the past, what used to be in the ‘9s, thinking the past is always better than the present. I think it’s a whole different game from from the old school Jerry West, Larry Bird era. I don’t think it’s definitely not holding it back, but I think people say it’s a different game and they just they compare the two, but that’s two separate sports in my opinion. From like Larry Bird, Magic Johnson era to now is is a whole different game of basketball. Yeah. So, I don’t think that’s holding the NBA back. No. Is social media more harmful than helpful to celebrities now? Social media is more harmful to everybody. You think so? Yeah, 100%. But what about just like from a business perspective for celebrities? definitely helpful for marketing aspects, even for like athletes and stuff. Yes, but you got it’s a two it’s a it’s it’s what is it a double-edged sword? Like it’s it’s pros and cons for both. It’s great, but it’s also horrible cuz people are going to claim things that not true as well. Is Hollywood running out of original ideas? I don’t really know the answer to that question. I want you to think about it this way. In Hollywood, it’s way safer for a production company to remake an old movie they know is going to do well or Yeah. They’re like not coming up with new ideas. They’re just remaking old things or continuing series. Yeah. Like Twisters and all those others. They’re just remaking old shows. Yeah. Um you think issue with it? I don’t think they’re running out of ideas, but I think they’re saying, “Oh, I can do this movie better again.” Really? It’s going to get just the amount of same views or somewhat close to it. H Okay, we can talk about that, too. Are award shows, Grammys? You know, I mean, are award shows officially irrelevant in 2025? I don’t think as much. No. I think now with social media, it’s just it’s more rigged and it’s all political. I don’t think people care about it as much, right? So, they’re kind of becoming relevant. Okay. So, yes. Um, is fame more of a liability than a flex now? That’s the thing is what do you like declare as famous? Do you do you declare like Dave Portoy or like Josh Richards famous? I have no hate toward each one of those guys, but so many people are now like Tik Tok famous, social media famous. What is actually famous nowadays? That is true. Like what level of famous is Grant Horvat famous? And that’s interesting because in one world he’s super famous, but in like pop culture now, you know. Yeah. So it’s just it depends on what realm you’re talking about. What what actually is famous nowadays? We used to think about famous back in the day. Back in the back in my day, back when I was a kid, whippers literally were 29, dude. I’m so young. No, I think back before social media, it was, you know, Clint Clint Eastwood and, you know, big- time actors. Those are famous people. Those are celebrities. Now, it’s oversaturated market. Everybody Everybody’s famous technically, honestly. Yeah. And cuz and everyone can look at their like follower count and feel good about themsel and it’s like half half the people that are famous are also like in social media world are botted. It’s botted views, botted followers. Dude, maybe we should get some bots. I know. And also like streamers. Do you think streamers, video game streamers should be cheating? Half of your favorite streamer streamers are using walls or using some type of hack. Really? Yeah%. We can get into that, too. Nice. Is the MetGala just a weirder version of Halloween? Now, I think it comes back to the freaking famous thing of what who can I what can I wear and get the most clicks and likes on that’s people are going to talk about on a podcast like we are the next week. Got us. So, yeah, it’s become more of a dress up like weird. It’s just a red carpet event that who can get the most likes and looks from. People really show up naked, dude. Sorry, buddy. Sorry. That’s crazy. Is brand loyalty dead with influencer culture now? Yes. Whoever has the biggest bag usually gets it. And if it’s from jumping ship to jumping ship is I’ll add a bonus in there with that. Would you take less money for your favorite brand? Yeah. I would always be more brand loyal to the people that I want to work with. So say if my favorite brand offered me a 10-year deal, but it was half the money or I got a 10 times the amount of deal for a onetime deal. That’s more than I would make in that lifetime like long-term brand. I’m still picking my loyal brand that I’d want to work with. Really? 100%. Okay. Okay, cool. I like that. Um, would you rather be known as Would you rather be known for for life and be controversial or would you rather be completely forgettable? Um, I think it depends on That’s a good question. I know it’s not a yes or no question. I think there’s a lot of you can unpack there is like what am I being controversial for? Yeah. Yeah. I don’t I don’t know what the the relevance would that not relevance. I don’t know what the what’s the right word I’m looking for. Um like what what what am I known for? Yeah. So I think I would rather not be known for something horrible and just be a nobody and go under the radar my whole life. I’d be totally fine with that. And that comes down to a values thing, too. What do you value? Do you value fame and money more than you value like normaly? A good name, you know, or or yeah, normaly. Just like Yeah, your values. It’s a good question. I would say I’m fine with being forgettable like if my family’s taken care of. Yeah, I agree. I don’t I don’t think I mean I don’t want to be in the limelight for anything. Yeah. I mean I’d like to be under the radar and not recognize. That’s just who how I’ve always been. All right. Is streaming killing the quality of new music releases? Streaming. Um what do you So here’s the concept. Like with Spotify, it seems like a lot of artists are just like, “All right, I just got to get something out that’s going to be clicky, really catchy, so it’ll get a lot of streams as opposed to what’s the best song.” Yeah. I think it comes down to freaking clicks and social media presence at the end of the day. Like what’s going to get clicks, what’s going to get viewed, and how can how can my agency Mhm. per push it the most. I think it’s not even like about writing the best song, right, or the most meaningful song. It’s what’s gonna get viewed to make me the most money. I think that’s kind of what all the world is tor turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turn turned to is content too is what’s going to make me the most money and how many eyes are going to be on it and that’s how a lot of people are evaluated too now. Yeah, it’s like that’s what those contracts are. It’s not about let’s make the best song or make the best podcast. It’s what can I say that’s going to be the most controversial that’ll get the most clicks and the most views. So yeah, it’s quality for sure. It can be in in media. Yeah. Yeah, thanks. Um is cancel culture just another form of marketing now? So, like someone says, “Look, as long as I’m getting cancelled, it’s like, oh yeah, views are views. If it’s good or bad, you’re still getting your name out there.” Which I get both sides of it, but I don’t want to be like, “Oh, I’m the guy out here that’s being canceled every single week for something stupid.” Yeah. Like, I think some people are like, some people just be clickbait culture, which it works for a lot of people and they don’t care. Like, I get my bag and I just go home and I turn my phone off and it’s fine. But like, yeah. Yeah. Cool. There’s some good questions in there. So, what do what do we want to we want to jump into some of these first? Yeah, there’s a lot. Yeah. So we said, okay, number one, Steph, four rings if he played in the East his whole career. You said he would. So this is where I would push back on that a little bit. If he’s in the East, a lot of those, like that one where they beat LeBron, they played the Cavs, they beat them, they would have had to play the Cavs earlier. Mhm. And then they’re spent by the time they get to the championship. So like they’re spent playing against the team they played in the semis as opposed to, you know, I think Steph’s one of the best players of all time to ever play the game of NBA basketball. I think he would have figured out a way, yeah, to put a super team together in the East, no matter who it’s with, and he would have still got he would have still get some rings. Okay, that’s another thought there, too, that the year that they lost in game seven to the Cavs, they would have been more fresh when they got to LeBron in that year because they would have played them in the East before the final. So, if they’re a more fresh team with KD and them, did they beat LeBron in the semis then? You must put your zen out on me right there. There’s I saw it creep out of your mouth right there. This one’s thicker. Also, my head’s spinning a little bit. I don’t know. I I I don’t follow the NBA that much to be honest. I really don’t. I follow collegiate sports more than anything. So, I I can’t even I can’t speak to it too much, but I do think Steph would have put a team together that would have competed in been in contention for four rings 100%. Yeah. So, okay. So, the other one, should LeBron have more MVPs than George? Okay. So, think about this. The year Derrick Rose won MVP, LeBron James averaged more points, more rebounds, and more assists, and his team finished better. I do think LeBron should have more, but as a consumer, I get so tired of watching LeBron James be the best at everything and like just give it to someone else, which is that’s kind of what happened though. That’s what I mean, yeah, Steve Nash won, too. However, I’m not going to get into that conver. He did deserve it. He was at the the 50 40 90 club and led the team league in excess in assists for both years. So, he did deserve it over Kobe and Shaq either way. But I do think some there’s been multiple years where yes, LeBron was the most dominant player. He should probably have six or seven MVPs, but at some point you got to start giving it to someone else. But then is the award actually based on the most valuable or is it just uh ah what’s what who like who’s the new talk? I don’t know. I think everything is now so political. Like just when the Cavs, not Cavs, when the Dallas Mavericks just traded Luca to Los Angeles, they had what, like a 12% chance to get the number one pick. Yeah. Dallas did. Was it 12 or was it like three? Maybe it was 3% 1 to 3%. It was they were projected to be a 12 to 16 pick and they got the number one pick. So I think it’s all it’s all political and it’s all rigged in my opinion. I really do I really do think so. People went to that stat though and they were like, “It’s rigged.” Because the last like five people that have gotten that pick have all been like a 1 to 2% chance. But if you think about that, that’s just poor statistics. Because if you look at there’s there’s, you know, 10 teams that all have a 1% chance. So it’s a 10% chance that someone with a 1% chance is going to get picked, right? So somebody with 1% chance might get picked. It is, but it’s a lower percentage. There’s there’s only been like what one other occurrence that’s ever happened that they’ve gotten the that number one pick for being that low or something like that. I’m swear it was something. Anyways, back to my question or my my statement of I have a hard time believing anything that’s not already set up or rigged. What if LeBron said actually no, don’t give it to me this year. What if he’s saying that behind closed doors? I mean, yeah, we just don’t know. We don’t know. There’s just so much that could possibly get rigged and like why wouldn’t they if they’re at the end of the day, it’s a business. Their goal is to make money. Yeah. Yeah, that’s true. Did you watch the This is totally random, but the Bob does sports video, the one they played at Black Desert, and they’re like doing intros of the players beforehand. It’s like Grant Horvat not suspended from the PJ tour. And it goes Wesley or George Bryan not suspended by the PJ tour. Fat Pres not suspended by the That’s so funny. Wesley Bryan suspended from the PGA Tour. That’s so funny. No, I didn’t see that. That’s good. I love when when people make jokes on stuff like that. Do you think um Scotty Shuffler will be the best golfer of all time at the end of his career? No, Tiger still be the number one. I think it’ll still be Tiger because it’s like what he’s been doing right now. If he were to continue doing what he’s doing, then yes. But like Tiger’s the only one to have ever continued that. Will there ever be a golfer as good and successful as Tiger Woods to ever play the game of golf? I personally think that it will be similar to the MJ situation where I think they’ll protect Tiger’s Legacy as much as they can to where they’ll try and start switching things up a little bit if it gets close to where you know cuz you kind of got to have that guy at the top of the totem pole that you always reference back to and talk about and I don’t know you know what I was going back through of like the most majors one Dustin Johnson and Phil imagine going up like you’re Phil Mickelson or Bubba Watson who in today’s game without Tiger Woods if in today’s world would probably be the number one golfer like be running headto-head with with Scotty. They had to go up against Tiger Woods every single tournament. Yeah. And it’s there a handful of these guys that would have been number ones easily top two back and forth back and forth. Yeah. But they’re going against Tiger Woods every single time. Brutal timing. Yeah. I know what people are probably saying the same thing with Scotty now, but Tiger Woods was number one in the world for how many weeks consecutively? Oh, it was like it was like three years or something like that. So, it’s a whole different ball game. Imagine playing up against him every single time knowing that Tiger’s probably going to win it. Yeah, dude. Yeah, there’s not going to be another one like that. Yeah, that’s brutal. And now you’re Charlie Woods and you’re a son. You know how much pressure’s got to be on him even though he just won his first tournament. I wonder how many times Phil finished second behind Tiger. It had to be a lot. Hey Siri, how many times did Phil Nicholson finish second in a tournament behind Tiger Woods during the course of a 25 year span 1962 to 19? It’s Jack Nicholas. Sick. Thanks Siri. Only four times. So that’s four more wins he would have had. So he’s now one. One of them’s a major. So he would have one more major. Yeah. So I mean that’s a big deal. Four wins is a big deal. Yeah. Especially one of those being a major. That’s a huge deal. Dang, that’s crazy. Golf is hard. Um, dude, is he snoozing? What’s your take on these super? I saw a Tik Tok today of Luke Bryan playing a trouidor. Yeah, which is funny. He was able to post that. Yeah. Well, he’s Luke Bryan. Yeah. And do whatever the heck he wants. Pretty much. But what’s your take on these super private clubs? You can just wear whatever you want to. You go barefoot in a t-shirt and shorts. Do you think all private clubs should be required to be in golf attire with a polo tucked in with a belt a belt? Um, no. But I think that it’s good that some of them are because like if you have the money for something like that, I think you should have enough money to be able to choose what vibes you want, right? Like if you join like at the Grove, if you pay to go to the Grove, you shouldn’t you shouldn’t be moaning and moaning about like, oh, I should be able to wear what I want. I pay this much money. Well, it’s like, well, if you want that vibe, then pay to go here, you know? I think it’s good to have the option, but it’s like if you join Trouador, you know what you’re paying to sign up for, you know? So, I like that there’s the option where it’s like, okay, there’s multiple options. If I want to pay to have the swanky vibe, I’m going to go here. But if I want to pay to be relaxed and chill and go whatever I want, I like that there’s the option. Which is interesting. You see all these old heads, these boomers saying, you know, we got to respect the game, shrink the game. They’re out here wearing backwards hats, t-shirts, but the the places where you’re paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to go be private club, you’re wearing t-shirts and backwards hats. So, it’s kind of a a hypocrite statement saying shrink the game, but the most exclusive places you’re allowed to wear whatever you want. Yeah. So, it’s shrink to the game only to what? It only applies to the to the to the ones that want the vibe you want. Yeah. Right. So, were people saying that on that video? Were they commenting that on that? No. I I just saw it was Luke wasn’t wearing a hat and he was wearing a t-shirt and sunglasses and Yeah. Um it was just funny to see that. Such a super nice course where you can wear honestly whatever you want to. Yeah. And I have rarely played golf with people that are like following the real deep etiquette of golf. Like most people are playing ready golf that you get. That’s how your handicaps as freaking 6.2 right now. That’s not what I’m talking about. That’s an entirely different subject. You see, okay, this also came up. I was following um Monday Q or something on Twitter and there’s a guy and it was a Reddit post and it said he played around with a with a guy a random guy on golf. He walked 18 with him and he didn’t count gimmies as a stroke. As a stroke. As a stroke. So he’s saying the other the putt before that was the one you made. Oh, that’s good. That one doesn’t even count. So he said he was like, “Oh, you basically made that.” He said on like hole 12. He’s like, “Oh, I’m going to beat my course record 63.” And what he’s like, “What do you mean? You’re like 15 over.” He goes, “Oh, no. My uh my handicap only allows one bogey.” So I or my handicap only allows a worse a bogey every single hole and the gimmies don’t count as a stroke. So I’m like I’m shooting a 63 today. Dude, I’m a freaking scratch golfer then. How But how do you play golf for 25 something years and that’s how you play? And none of your friends have been like, “Hey, actually, bro.” And it was a thread of like, “Oh, I’ve I’ve played with people like that before.” What’s crazy is him actually going to the club and turning that in and accounting and them saying, “Yeah, that’s the course right here. little astric. Oh, freaking you know Jimmy’s over here doing it again. Yeah, you you have the course leaderboard and the Jimmy course leaderboard. Dude, that’s bonkers. How would you be like, oh, yep, it’s inside. They said it was the best part was it was in anything inside your putter length. It was good, but he was using a a broomstick putter. He was using the whole length of it. Bro, broomstick putters are a cheat code in those scramles, man. You think uh do you think broomstick putter should be outlawed? Uh, my instinct is no, but I would like to see the stats on like people using them, how much better they actually are. Do you know how broomstick putters are? The anchoring is illegal. So, if I was anchoring my broomstick putter out there playing with my buddies, like you and three other guys, would you allow me to anchor my putter? If it’s just buddies playing, but if it’s for money, like if we’re playing, would you be like, “Hey man, no, you can’t be anchoring your you can’t be anchoring your putter.” Yeah, I would say no. Okay. I think there is a ton of people out there that have broomsticks that no one’s telling them not to anchor and they’re just anchoring anyways. I think I’m gonna start doing it. I really am. That’s kind of like uh playing pickup basketball, you know, where sometimes if you’re playing pickup, people will be like, “Okay, out of bounds is if it hits the wall. It’s not if you step on the line.” But like no one’s seeing no one’s no one’s being okay with travel and pickup ball. Speaking of traveling and pickup ball, just traveling in general, this whole gather step thing I cannot stand. It’s three steps. It’s a travel. This whole new gather step rule is five years or so. It has to be. No, the gather step in the NBA has got to be like 20,000. Really? It’s got to be like 20 years old. Yeah. No way. Yeah, I’m pretty sure. But it’s trickled down to college and high school and they like they want to use the gather step and it’s it’s traveling high school. It’s crazy. I mean, if you watch it in if you watch it in slow motion, it makes sense. I I don’t know, dude. What are you talking about? It would feel weird to me cuz like every league I played in, the gather step was not a thing. So, it would feel weird. See, look at this. One. So, he’s stepping with the ball in his hands. One, two, three. That’s a travel. Oh, see that? That’s a That should be called a travel. It’s not, though. That’s called a That’s That’s called a gather step half the time in the NBA. Anytime LeBron does that or a Mon like that is a travel, but they’re calling it a gather step. That one is so bang bang. It’s so close that it would be you’d have to pretty much review something like that every time. So, I understand that getting called either way. Yeah. No, that’s tough. So, um you we actually are kind of both right on this one. So, they started officiating it that way where the gather stuff was okay in 2009. and they adjusted the interpretation of the rules, but then in 2019 they like further implemented it like they they typed it wrong. They I mean they typed it differently the thing to where they’re like clarified it. So they started fishing that way really in 2009 2008 but then they alternate recently though it’s that’s when it’s been going rampid is everybody uses the gather stuff. Luca uses it every single time he touches the basketball. And I think they uh probably because of uh James Harden, they had to specify it a little bit more because he kept doing that weird step back thing. Also, what they need to imp um implement in every single high school basketball game is a shot clock. Have you seen Oh, I thought that was a thing. I know it wasn’t when we were playing. Mhm. Cuz there would be teams that would be like four corners. Yeah. And they just go four corners and the end of the game is six to four. Yeah. We did that again. There was a team that we would play every year, uh, Athens Christian, and they always, you know, recruited players and had just insanely good players. And that was our only hope. We were a bunch of short little white guys, so we ran four corners against them. I think at halftime it was like 7 to 12. Imagine going to a game and everybody just stands in the corner and holds the basketball. It’s not basketball. What’s the point of playing? It makes me so mad when I watch high school guys and they do that. That and they um, not what is it called? Uh, not jelly pick. What’s one you cherry pick? Cherry pick. I cannot stand that. That’s what freaking LaMelo did when he was in high school, too. They just stand on the other side of the court and throw it down. Yeah. They’re like, “We know our guys are tall long enough to like we can zone up and prevent someone from scoring and just have a guy getting a bucket.” Yeah. That’s tough. Yeah. No, I I um I I think that’s super annoying. Like it should be the best team wins the game and like you just got to be able to form and build the best team to win the game. Yeah. No, I totally agree. But for us, we just worked with the rules that we got, you know? I guess we should we should talk about where we’re at right now. We haven’t done that yet. So, we’re sitting in the new Divid Dudes headquarters that we’re turning the headquarters right now. Um, this is our our current makeshift podcast situation. Yeah. So, this is our first one that we’re not sitting in the in my office chairs. Yeah. Which I know that looked like a super nice podcast studio, but it was actually taking up my uh my other guest room, but we had no bed in. That’s nice. Y’all get to use that now. We get to use the room. I know. I’m pumped for it. But no, this this will be you’ll be seeing a lot more videos of golf stuff and non-golf stuff in this room. On this side is a full Carl’s place garage golf simulator. Yeah, it’s massive. Super cool. Um, so this going to be like a little hangout spot. This has air condition. This is a garage. Like this is a threecar garage. How tall is that ceiling? 20 ft. 20 ft. Yeah, it’s awesome. So it’s massive. You could even have a little basketball go in here and shoot some free throws. Oh, we should we should throw one up over there. That’d be fun. So, I think you’re going to see we’re going to try to turn this into like a little mini warehouse until we can get like Bob does Sports just purchased his warehouse, which is sweet to see. That’s awesome. Um, you’ll see a lot more videos coming here from the podcast, some live streams, just some like fun games you’ll see in short form content as well. So, a lot more stuff coming from this place. It’s going to be sweet. It’s We’re not in Nashville, so we’re I guess we can technically say, you know, we always say we’re from Nashville, but this place is not in Nashville. Yeah, we’re 40 minutes south of Nashville, College Grove. It’s in the Grove subdivision. So, Adam’s member out there. Hopefully, we’ll get get some videos out there and stuff. And it’s just a super super nice spot where they had the live tournament this past year. Um, but yeah, dude, this space is sweet. I guess we’ll show them some clips in here of like the the area. But yeah, I think what we’re doing first, we’re going to get some friends out here and and get some challenges going and uh see who’s got the best drive of the friend group probably. Yeah, I think we’re going to do some prizes for them. Whoever I think there’s a mixture of handicaps. There’s some ones in the 20s, ones that are tens, fives. So, it’ll make sure everybody and whoever’s going to come out on top is going to win some stuff. Mhm. Yeah. Absolutely. This is something I want to talk about cuz this comes up in our comments a lot. Um when when we’re talking about giveaways, dude, so many of our comments now because we’ve given away some big prizes. Like obviously, you know, we we like being known as like the giveaway guys on YouTube. I think that’s cool, like hooking hooking up random golfers and stuff. But then what’s annoying is when we’ll do like we’ll give away a hundred bucks or 50 bucks or something like that and the comments will be like, “Oh, 50 bucks, guys. Why are you y’all being so cheap?” When it’s like I know. I I see that as well. It’s like, “Oh, cool. We know we gave them away two Waggle hats.” I’m like, “Okay, those are $35 hats each, but also we think we’re just I don’t think they realize that we don’t have Grand Horvette money. We’re not making millions of dollars. We have some really great sponsors that allow us to give away some cool items. Yeah. But also like just transpil like the ones we did in Arizona. We have to have we Conor and I have to buy our flights out there. We have to fly our cameramans out there. We have to pay our cameramen to be out there filming every single video and running the drone. So that’s it’s a very it costs thousands of dollars for us to do these like filming weeks. Yeah. Every filming week is like three to six grand. Yeah. And that’s out of our pocket. And like we we just started like really making money from this and it’s like we’re we’re not sitting here like cash rolling off of this. But we’re every every time we give something up unless a brand has like donated it. We’re just paying for that out of We pay all the uh like the prize gauntlet items or everything that we we pay for. We spend over $1,000 for the PlayStation, the gaming chair, the TV. Yeah. Like it’s coming. I mean, we’re hoping we reinvest in the video. Hopefully the video makes that money back if not more. But sometimes it doesn’t. And sometimes we’ll we’ll lose money on the video. But yeah, but it’s like people see this video, it’s like, “Oh, it’s got a million views. These guys are making crazy money.” But it’s like, it’s really not like that. We got a lot of people that we pay and our goal is to be generous with this stuff. You know, we enjoy giving away. Every other YouTuber is not giving away the type of stuff we give away, you know? But for us to go out there and give away like 50 bucks for someone that’s just hitting on the range in my mind, if I was that person, I’m like, dude, like like I have a hard time swiping a car to go play 50 bucks at a round myself, you know? So, it’s like our goal is to be generous. It is weird window when people are like, “Oh, y’all being cheap.” It’s like, dude, like we’re really just trying to bless some people, honestly. Honestly. Yeah. You pay 50 bucks, it buys you, you know, dozen balls, two dozen balls, depends on what you use. But I also I don’t know. I I understand when they see like even on the range when we’re like, “Okay, we just gave out a driver and a putter.” Then the next thing we’re giving away is something that’s less of that value. And they’re like, “Oh man, I really want to get the driver.” Like you’re giving away now something that’s, you know, worth 35 bucks. But we just can’t always be giving away $300 items or we’ll we’ll go broke. Like that’s expensive cuz that video might not make any money. It’s tough, you know. So, we are treating it like a business, but we do, you know, want to be generous with what we have and are trying to be like I would say based on what we’ll make over the next few months, what we end up paying ourselves is like a very reasonable salary, you know, based on how much we’re giving out, I think. But yeah, that that was just something that I’m always seeing that it’s like you don’t want to be the guy that’s like in the comments being like I swear we we’re doing this and that and the other, you know, like I don’t think that’s a good look, but like our goal first of all is to be generous with this. And being the giveaway guys on YouTube is awesome. Like I love that idea of people seeing us and they get excited because like oh I might get the chance to win something, you know, but like we don’t have uh you know a million bucks to dish out to people like Mr. Beast. Also speaking of Mr. beast. Did you see he had to borrow money from his mom for their wedding cuz he didn’t have that much liquid cash to use? Really? I don’t know. Maybe he just did that. Like you said, this could just be a marketing tactic for him just to get more content. But I found that very interesting how he just couldn’t have $50,000 cash or whatever it would. Dude, I hope that in 20 years, Mr. Beast isn’t that case study on like he was pulling in this much cash and now it’s all gone. You think you’re going to get to a point where he gets so tired of doing content he just sells. There’s no way he’s going to be wanting to do what he’s doing now, working 120 hours a week being 45, 50 years old. Yeah. There’s no way. Yeah. There’s no way. You’ve seen you’re seeing Dude Perfect trying to phase this out. They don’t want to be the face of the videos. They’re going to hire Dude Perfect golf, a dude perfect hunting and have creators run that channel and they’ll have oversight and, you know, be more of the management style, but it I think everybody gets to a point where we don’t want to be the two guys on the driving range giving away stuff when we’re 40 years old, you know. I don’t think that’s the plan. Yeah, I don’t think it’s the plan either, but you know, so we’ll have to and and just like it’s shifted and grown over the last two years already, you know, we started out podcasting. We worked our way into like just doing the range content or I think even before that we were doing like goofy skits and then the ones that really started popping was the range content and then now we’ve worked into like actual more golf and then now we’ve got some more cool ideas that aren’t just us approaching people and doing random challenges, you know? So, like just like that shifted, who knows what it’ll shift into over the next 10 years, you know? So, I think he’s always just evolving and adapting to what’s working. Uh-huh. Yeah. Totally. But that’s one thing that’s interesting. You talking about Dude Perfect bringing in uh other people to do these these new channels and stuff. That’s something that’s so hard to start a new platform. Obviously, as soon as Dude Perfect starts a golf channel, they’re going to have, you know, 100,000 subscribers. But the thing is like those 100,000 people are probably more so connecting with the dudes as opposed to the concepts of the videos, you know? So, it’s going to be hard to have new people come in that are not their personality because it takes time. What if they train them to be like them and like this is how we’re like you’re going to do 6 months of training and like this is how we we think what’s going to work and we need you to act like would they bring in actors like that or they bring in maybe some creators that say you’ll get 10% of Dude Perfect like me and you and they said we want y’all to run the Dude Perfect golf channel and you we already have you know half a million followers across all platforms. people follow follow that and watch that. What’s hard with that too though and and this is what happens with Barcel Sports so often is like Barcel Sports sports bar sports has the money to prop these people up their podcasts start really taking off and then they realize oh wait people aren’t following me for bar stool anymore they’re following me for me I’ll get way more money if I do this on my own like that’s what kind of starts happening in this world with the boys yeah it’s which I get so then what what does when does it get to a point where it’s you use it for a platform to get famous and you do your own thing. But Barshall’s just going to be like any type of brand like that’s going to be a revolving door. Yeah. People just using him to get started, then we ditch out unless Dave puts in some sort of monetary stipulation. If he gets X amount of money is like they own the IP, who owns the IP, who’s getting what cuz he has to keep building up brands over and over and over. That’s exhausting. Yeah, it really is. And I mean, is that okay though? Like for Dude Perfect then is the the the way to prevent that. You just bring new people in a rotation. Think about Mr. Beast though. Like he kept bringing different friends and like he just brought in Mac who was in a couple of videos that did really really well. I think they treat it like that. They bring in a couple video guys to do different videos, see which ones do well and then they bring those guys on board full-time to run it. And I guess kind of the the the catch there is like you kind of have to find people that really they’re fine with just being the guy that shows up, shoots the video, and leaves as opposed to like like Mr. Beast couldn’t bring in another Mr. Beast to be a secondary personality because if someone’s his personality, they’re getting hungry to have their own thing, you know? But I don’t know. Yeah, that’s an interesting interesting conversation because it’s it’s tough for those brands to always have people coming in, blowing up, dipping. Thanks for hanging out, guys. We’ll catch y’all later.

  1. Favre played in 2 Super Bowls and won 1. Go back and look at those couple of seasons in the 90s. He was legit one of the best QBs of all time during that stint. We forget just how good he was. Dan Marino was one of the best to never win a SB

Also – dudes. I'm local to Nash and emailed you – would love to connect!

  2. I think The giveaways have to be more consistent. Maybe giving away a certain range of value for the driving range and a different, higher, value for when you’re playing a round of golf with someone. That seems to make sense.
