[Music] Okay, golfers, let’s take a look at the swing of Scotty Sheffller. One thing I love about Scotty at setup is he has enough bend from the waist to allow his arms to hang straight down from his shoulder sockets. Often time amateurs that struggle with their posture won’t have enough bend from the waist and so they’ll end up reaching their arms way out for the golf ball and just makes their job a whole lot harder from there. Now, there are a million things you could talk about in this swing, but I want to highlight how he gets to the top with the club face in a pretty good spot. So, if we drew a line down the center of the face, you’re going to see that it more or less matches his arm plane. Amateur golfers that slice the ball will usually have that toe hanging more down and make it really difficult for them to square the face on the way down because of how open it sits at the top. The last thing I want to do is highlight how the club moves through the ball. We know how good Scotty is at hitting the golf ball, but I want to clear up a common misconception that a player needs to swing inside out or needs to swing outside in. And if you’re familiar with those terms, I’m talking about the club path. Well, the golf swing really is a circle. And so what you’re going to notice as we take this club into the ball, it’s going to approach from the inside and then it’s going to go back to the inside. There’s no inside out or outside in here. The club is going to approach the ball and then immediately hit the ball and start arcing inwards. Now, it starts arcing inwards because of how open Scotty is with his body. So, you can see that club start arcing inwards and that club face is staying very stable. Something to copy from the swing of world number

  1. He does so many things “wrong” . Flying elbow, steep transition….but it works for him. Don’t try and copy anyone else’s swing.

  2. The moderators perception of a circle as being inside to inside is rather obvious. Once you leave the infinite rotation of the clubhead around the lead side armpit center point,it's referred to as going off on a " tangent", a direction that ends in tragic consequences for the flight of your ball.

  3. We will never do this, because we can’t but I’ll try. We are suckers for punishment, but we ❤ the game just maybe more

  4. Lmfao of course the club face moves back towards his body, its the natural path of the arc hence why to hit a draw the ball is back a little in your stance and to hit a fade the ball is a little forward in your swing , the ball back in your stance causes an in to out arc at contact , the ball a bit forward creates the out to infrom the natural path of the club face , this particular ball is hit dead straight caused by adjusting the ball position to hit it straight. Shot shaping has nothing to do with changing your swing hence why they all have repeatable swings , they repeat the same swing every time , the shot they want to hit comes from ball position

  5. He is 6,3 and for that reason you cant really compare his setup with us "regular" people

  6. Fairly good lesson…Key point is that he doesn't reach for the ball. He stands close to the ball. This promotes an upright swing. Keeping the club going towards the target at impact. Very good for accuracy.

  7. Shot shaping has nothing to do with changing your swing?😳The shot they want to hit comes from ball position?🙄 Canadian Polar Bear….. With all due respect, your comments are flat out incorrect. Go read the post from MrsSmartyPants. She's correct. You are not correct. Your level of knowing is limited. Your comments bring up the thought… A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing.
