He’s the defending champion for next week’s Wyndham Championship
Did you see your life change at all after winning the Windham championship? Yeah, I think definitely in terms of pure golfing achievement, it’s it’s been the pinnacle of my career so far. Um, with having played on the PGA Tour for I think three seasons up until that point, I really started to understand how deep it is, how difficult it is, how much you have to adapt to in order to be competitive over here. Um, even if you’re already competitive in Europe, there’s definitely a few things you have to learn and adapt to. So, um, to go one step further and win last year was truly a dream come true. I I I truly understood how how hard it is to get to that point. Um so it was extremely fulfilling um when that happened. Regarding changes to my life, um I think a little bit I didn’t really think that it would if I’m honest because uh for the most part I live a very simple life, have a very small circle of people. Um and I didn’t foresee that changing and it hasn’t. But in terms of like just a little bit more notoriety, I guess that was something that felt quite different. Funny story actually, I went to um I went to Kenya to see my sister and my mom in the offse last year in October. And me and my sister went to the Masai Mara, which is in the middle of nowhere in Africa. Um, and I was just wearing a casual t-shirt, a sports cap, and me and my sister are looking at a couple of leopards, and randomly I hear, “Aaron, Aaron.” And I turn around and like we’re big fans. I’m like, out of all of the places in the world that you could be to be recognized. That was definitely the last one that I thought I would. So, just like little moments like that, there have been a couple of really random ones. So, I guess that’s where it’s changed a little bit. But um from a golfing perspective and in in other areas, not a huge amount.
