Wedding at Swaneset in BC

Come to a wedding with me at the beautiful Swanet. This was also a venue I considered for my own wedding, but I never got to tour it. It is a pretty far drive from Vancouver. It would usually take about 45 minutes, but with traffic on this day, it took over an hour and 30 minutes. It’s a golf course, so the views are amazing, and the grass is kept in pristine condition. The ceremony was held outdoors. I always forget how quickly the ceremony goes. And then we were escorted upstairs where the rest of the event was happening indoors. There’s this long hallway connecting the bar to the reception area. They set up small tables for cocktail hour and there were some ordurves. We have a small break until the reception, so we were just hanging out, eating, and kind of enjoying the view outside. I love the floor to ceiling windows in the reception area. It let in a lot of natural light. There are also a few balconies you can walk out to and the view was amazing, so we all took some photos. The food was buffet style and there were so many different options of meats. I personally really liked the food. I had a big plate and finished all of it. There was no shortage of food at this reception because shortly after dinner service, the dessert bar opened. In terms of activities, they had a photo booth, audio guest book, and also an illustrator. I love that instead of a traditional bouquet toss, they did a jelly bouquet toss. I also love the idea of a late night snack bar, they had poutine for theirs. Outside of the long travel time for guests, I really enjoyed this venue.
