Why I chose the Bettinardi Antidote SB1:
The more traditional look just fit my eye better than the OZ.1i. That doesn’t mean that the OZ.1i isn’t a great putter or that it isn’t right for you. I could see myself gaming either one of these putter’s, but in the end, the SB1 barely edged out the LAB Golf OZ.1i.

Should be good. Let’s go find it. How’s it going, guys? Welcome back to the channel. Today in this video, we have a treat for you. We’re going to be comparing two of the hottest putters on the market. The Bettonardi SB1 and the Lab Golf Oz.1i with the new face insert. We’re going to compare them. I’m going to do a full review of both. I’m going to start with the SB1 and we’re going to end with the Oz.1i. And at the end of this video, I’m going to let you know which one of these two putters is going in my bag. Be sure to leave a comment and let me know which one you would prefer to have in your bag. Let’s get right into this one. Enjoy the video. Zero torque, square to square, whatever you want to call it, the Bettonardi version. The antidote. This is the SB1, more of the blade style. They have the SB2, which is more of a mallet. So today we’re going to be doing a full review of Bettonard’s Zero Torque SB1 from the Antidote collection. All right guys, so as you can see here, this one’s got a face milling. This is one of their softer face millings. Has some deeper cuts here in the face. This is makes it very soft coming off the face. They were able to customize this one for me. I’ve got the red, white, and blue um SP1 over here, but it says milled in the USA the antidote. And then the back here again, red, white, and blue on the Bettonardi. If you want to look at the sight lines, you can see it’s got a line here on the back. And it’s got a straight line here. I really love this straight line because it fits perfectly. A golf ball fits perfectly within that. So, as you can see, it helps with lining up. You can put the golf ball and you can line the center of the golf ball up here, and then you can line the edges up here. And it really helps you find the center of that club face. That way you’re getting the best possible roll you can. This has got the chrome shaft. And then currently I have the pistol GT 1.0 from Bettonardi and Superstroke. As you can see, this is what it looks like from a dress. You can see those alignment lines there. You can see what I’m talking about where that line in the back lines up with the center and then the edges of that front line lines up with each edge of the golf ball. So, let’s hit a few putts. Let’s listen to the sound of it and let you hear that. We’re going to start off with some lag putts with a longer putt, longer stroke. That way you can hear the sound. And then we’ll hit some medium putts and some short putts to let you see exactly how the sound changes with those different distances. We’re going to go to that far flag over there. I’ve got a microphone right here on the ground. That way hopefully we can hear uh the strike. Now we’re going to hit a few 15 footers just to show you again what the sound is. Still a little bit downhill on a good one. There we go. Then we’re going to hit a little 18footer up the hill. Going to I’m going to have to hit this one a little harder because it is up the hill. We got the GoPro out. We’re going to do a quick little closeup of the square to square. We’re just going to go to this first hole here. Pretty downhill. Should be going a little bit to my left. Just barely have to tap this thing. Just doesn’t want to break. really good putts. Just uh not falling left like I think it should. Look at that. Stayed there the entire time. And we’re going to do some lag putts now. Again, showing off that zero torque face. And number four here. So, one thing guys I really want to touch on, as you can see, this is a very much more traditional look than the other guys. You know, the other, you know, lie angle balance guys have some very large heads that can be visually distracting and a lot of people are kind of thrown off by that. This is a very traditional head. looks very similar just to your normal center shaft uh blade style putter. Um that’s one of the things that’s super attractive to me. It’s not too big and I feel like I’m able to uh get my speeds down much more efficiently with something like this. Even the SB2, which is more of the mallet size, it is again much more traditional size-wise as a mallet than the other guys where their stuff, you know, kind of looks really outrageous to some people and it’s very much a turnoff. Um, you got to be confident when you look down. Um, and I tell you what thing, this thing is absolutely beautiful and the confidence is just pouring out uh on the putting greens. I’m able to just putt so so much better. We’re going to be doing a full review on the new Oz.1i with the new face insert from Lab Golf. First of all, let’s take a look at this thing. Let’s get in the light. Let’s take a look at this thing. Absolutely beautiful golf club. Beautiful putter. It’s got the insert on it. Face mil. Now, for this one, I went with this ey line. You got the flat on top with the line all the way through. And I went with the gray gunmetal gray color. Got the Acura shaft in it here. You can see there, black. And then I went with the counterbalance on. So, it’s got the extra long grip, a little bit longer than I typically go with. I usually have a I believe a 34 and a2. This one gets bumped up to a 37 and a half and it’s got the counterwe in the club uh tip here on the on the grip tip. So, um we’re going to hit some putts. We’re going to see how it feels. I’m going to give you my honest feedback on what I think of the club and what I think of the putter and also what I think of the counterbalance because I’ve never had a counterbalance putter. I’ve hit one a few times at the PJ Supertore. A buddy has one. So, I’ve wanted to try it. So, this time I have the DF3. This time with the Oz, I decided to try the counterbalance. Uh, I’ve hit a few putts so far. Feels really good. Let’s get right into this video. If you haven’t already, be sure to drop a like on this one. Be sure to hit that subscribe. It really helps me a lot. Go check out some of my other YouTube videos. I do course vlogs just like Good, Grant, Micah, all those guys. So, go check out my channel. See if you like it. Um, I really appreciate it. Let’s get into this video with the Oz from Lab Golf. So, this is a down look at it at a dress. Uh, my lie angle, I believe, is 71°. So, that’s one thing I would recommend doing if you’re looking at getting a lab golf putter is do their remote fitting that they have online because then you can figure out your lie angle. And that’s going to be the angle of this shaft that goes into the club head. That way, it’ll sit flat on the surface and you don’t have a toe up or or heel up uh issue. So, go try out their remote fitting. It’s free to do on their website. you send in a quick 5-second video and they’re able to determine your lie angle and then that that way they can get you perfectly fit to you. So again, I went with the counterbalance on this one, so it’s got the longer grip on it. I also went with the heavier head. So these weights on the bottom are a little bit heavier than the typical. Um that’s one of the options you have. You can go with a lighter head, the standard head, or the heavier head. Um so with the going with the counterbalance, I decided to go with the heavier head. Um, again you can see that face insert that the Oz one I has. The Oz one does not have the face insert. The I does. Again, went with the gunmetal finish, that gray finish with the black shaft. All the counterbalance are going to come with this superstroke grip. Very nice. Let’s hit some putts and see how we like it. Let’s see how it feels. These are pretty quick greens. First of all, the sound. I love it. It’s not too uh clanky or pingy. It’s very solid sound off that uh club insert face, that face insert. Speed control seems pretty good. I’ll tell you, with this counterbalance weight in the grip, it the stroke feels really good. I hit that one a little hard, but we made it in the hole. So, now another thing about this grip is typically some of these grips with Lab Golf will have a twoderee like forward press where you can see that this grip is not directly through the center. It automatically adds a forward press. With the counterbalance, they do not have that option as of yet. So, right now, it’s just going to be straight down the shaft. I do have a slight forward press. So, I am forward pressing uh because this this grip does not offer that. All right. All right. So, now we’re just going to hit a couple little three-footers, three, four footers. This one just breaks up slightly to my left just to see how it feels on these shorter putts, how it sounds. You can see just a slight break right to left. Feels really good though. Coming off nicely. I like it. So, we’re going to hit a couple long ones here, a couple lag putts real quick, and then I’ll give you my final thoughts on what I think of the new Oz and that counterbalance in the grip. All right, so this one’s probably about a 60footer all the way down to that last one. Little downhill, little right to left. Last putt here. And if you can hear that again, I love the sound of it. Let’s see if that one has enough to get down there. It may hit the other ball. So, on those lag putts, I feel like that first one kind of scared me. And then those next two, I just didn’t hit it hard enough. But I’ll walk over and let you see that these are all pretty good putts. You can see down here. I would take those two. And even though they ended up just short, this one was a little long. It ended up about five or six feet past. So, um, those second two putts were really good. As far as uh the Oz One I, this counterbalance feels great. Again, sounds great, looks incredible. It’s a little smaller head compared to what most lab golf putters are. You know, lab golf tends to have some of those larger heads, which can be very distracting and and deter a lot of people. This is a lot closer to your typical mallet putter size. As you can see here, it’s not too big at all. The ball fits right into that little line there that I have on the front. So, I I definitely like the size. I like the shape, the lines, everything. The visual of it. It looks really good. All right, guys. That’s it. After both of those reviews, it’s a moment of truth. Which one is going in my bag for 2025? And it’s going to be the SB1 from Bettonardi. Reason being, when I stood over this thing, it just fit my eye so much better than the Oz.1i. the blade style putter. I just felt extremely confident that every putt I hit was going in the hole. Confidence is huge when it comes to putting. So, be sure to get a putter that you are confident in. This is a little bit more of a blade style. What are the odds? A little bit more of a mallet style. Be sure to leave a comment. Let me know which one you want in your bag.
