Pro Shop expands its influence by acquiring GolfWRX, the trusted hub for golf equipment and community discussions.
Pro Shop, the innovative golf media and commerce company behind Netflix’s “Full Swing” and the Creator Classic Series, announced Wednesday it has acquired GolfWRX, the internet’s most trusted destination for golf equipment reviews and community forums.
The strategic acquisition strengthens Pro Shop’s rapidly growing portfolio and extends its reach into the gear-obsessed corner of the golf world. Founded in 2005, GolfWRX has built one of the most active and respected golf communities online, serving as a go-to resource for serious golf fans for nearly two decades.
“GolfWRX has long been a place where golfers go deep, whether getting the latest news and insights from industry experts or debating gear setups with people who truly know the game,” said Chad Mumm, Co-Founder and President of Pro Shop. “It’s an incredibly valuable part of the golf world, and we’re excited to invest in it, help it grow, and bring its valuable expertise and community reach to even more golf diehards and newcomers alike.”
Editorial Independence Maintained
GolfWRX will continue to operate with editorial independence and maintain its community-first approach while gaining access to Pro Shop’s world-class creative and production capabilities. The platform will also benefit from expanded PGA TOUR access through Pro Shop’s existing partnerships.
“Pro Shop shares our vision: elevate the golf conversation, bring real insights to real players, and never lose sight of the passion that built this community,” said Richard Audi II, Founder of GolfWRX. “With this partnership, GolfWRX will grow smarter, faster, and deeper, all while staying true to what’s always made us different.”
The acquisition opens new doors for modernization and audience growth, connecting GolfWRX’s expert-driven community with broader fans through Pro Shop’s digital, entertainment, and experiential platforms.
Since launching just over a year ago, Pro Shop has aggressively expanded its footprint in golf media and entertainment. The company served as lead producer for Netflix’s hit docuseries “Full Swing,” launched the Creator Classic Series with the PGA TOUR featuring golf’s most popular content creators, and is co-producing the “Happy Gilmore 2” film.

Pro Shop also operates Skratch, a digital content hub delivering short-form storytelling and social-first coverage, including popular podcasts like “Dan on Golf” with Dan Rapaport and the “Vanity Index Podcast” with Chad Mumm and Wells Adams. The company previously acquired Sugarloaf Social Club, a lifestyle apparel brand rooted in golf’s independent culture.
“GolfWRX has been a trusted resource for the most passionate corner of the golf world,” said Joe Purzycki, Co-Founder and CEO of Pro Shop. “Bringing them into the fold helps us better serve the full spectrum of golfers, from the casual weekend foursome to the diehards refreshing launch monitor stats. It’s a perfect fit for what we’re building.”
Industry Impact
The acquisition represents another significant consolidation move in golf media, as companies seek to capture the sport’s growing mainstream appeal. Pro Shop was founded in 2023 by veteran media executives Chad Mumm and Mark Olsen from Vox Media, Joe Purzycki from Puck, and David Miller from the PGA TOUR.
With GolfWRX’s millions of monthly users and unmatched credibility among serious golfers, Pro Shop adds a new layer of depth and utility to its brand portfolio. The move creates a more centralized hub where golf gear, culture, lifestyle, and community converge.
GolfWRX’s peer-driven forums and detailed product reviews have made it a staple for the game’s most passionate players. The platform’s authentic voice and gear-obsessed audience make it one of the most respected media properties in golf.
The company did not disclose the financial details of the acquisition. Pro Shop operates offices in Los Angeles, Ponte Vedra Beach, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
