Nearly three decades after the original movie hit theaters, Adam Sandler returns to the fairway to resurrect his iconic character Happy Gilmore in a highly anticipated sequel.

The 1996 Sandler comedy achieved cult status, featuring the comedian as a washed-up hockey player who discovers his calling on the golf course. After years of speculation about a follow-up, Happy Gilmore 2 finally landed on Netflix on Friday.

The sequel features an impressive lineup of celebrities and elite athletes, including world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler, fresh off his Open Championship victory, and PGA Tour standout Will Zalatoris.

Without diving into spoiler details, Scheffler’s cameo proves particularly noteworthy, which Mirror U.S. Sport readers can discover more about here. The cast also welcomes music legend Eminem and golf social media phenomenon Paige Spiranac.

“It was a blast (filming),” Zalatoris shared about his movie debut. “So the beauty of it is that if you think my acting is terrible, I’m not an actor, so that’s fine.”

“I’ve never taken a drama class in my life. I had no idea what I was doing, but basically they said, ‘Act like a moron as much as you possibly can,’ and I said, ‘Well, that’s pretty easy for me.’ It was a really fun time, and hopefully everybody enjoys it when it comes out.”

Naturally, Scheffler and Zalatoris aren’t the sole golfers featured in the sequel, as numerous PGA Tour and LIV Golf professionals make appearances in Sandler’s Netflix production. Nelly Korda, Nancy Lopez, Collin Morikawa, Jack Nicklaus, Fred Couples, Charley Hull, David Duval, Colin Montgomerie, Annabel Angel, Wyndham Clark and Bubba Watson also have cameos in the film, as do Corey Pavin, Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Lee Trevino, Retief Goosen, Jim Furyk, Charles Howell III and Sir Nick Faldo.
