This is going to be a what’s in the bag for my very old set of golf clubs. Very old meaning uh almost 10 years old. I’ve been playing most of these golf clubs for almost 10 years. I got these when I was in college. Used them in college tournaments and been playing most of them ever since. First up, the driver. So, I have the Ping G30 driver. Like I said, it’s probably about 10 years old now here in 2025. nine degrees loft. Now, I have the adjustable version, which allows you to customize the loft angle. I struggle with getting the ball up in the air when I hit my driver in my woods. I tend to flight it lower. So, I have added loft on here. So, you can put it in the neutral setting, or you can set it to slightly increased loft, which is 0.6°, or you can set it up to one full degree of loft additional on there. So, that’s what I have it set to. So, it’s a 90 degree driver. I have it set to 10° loft. This driver has the graphite shaft and standard grips that came with the driver. This driver I got fit for all my clubs. So, I went to a fitting center, tested a bunch of drivers. This Ping driver, the the Ping G30, I just I love the way it feels off the face. It was very powerful at the time, and I hit it the best. So, I got fit for this one. 3-wood, same thing. Same model as my driver, Ping G30. Uh, so the 3-wood has 14.5° loft. Again, this is the adjustable version. So, you can adjust the loft angle on here. Uh you can start with it in the neutral setting, which I I did have it on the neutral setting for a while. Um but recently, I decided to put it on the slightly added loft position. So, that adds 0.6° of loft. So, really, it’s about a 15 degree 15.1 degree 3-wood Ping G30. I love the way this thing feels. I can hit this off the tea. This is a very reliable club for me. So, this thing right here is a hybrid. So, the story behind this was when I went to get fit for my clubs early on in college when I took this very seriously. Um, they recommended this hybrid to me back at the time. Hybrids were very popular. A lot of players were using hybrids and getting good results from them. So, I hit it and decided to go to go with it at the time. I never really loved this thing, though. And and the truth is I I don’t play it and I haven’t played it in a long time. still keep it in the bag in case I need to use it on some rare occasion, but I’ve just never used it because I don’t um I’m not a huge fan of the way it feels and uh and the the ball flight that it that it makes. So, really, you know, I’d like to get a new fivewood soon. That’s the plan. Uh but this is a this is a three hybrid 19° non-adjustable, something that was recommended to me, fitted for me, but honestly, I never use it. All right, let’s get into the irons. So, these are the Nike Vapor Pro Combo irons, which again are almost 10 years old, right? Back when Nike used to make golf clubs still. Being a huge Tiger Woods fan, I was obviously a Nike fanboy back in the day. I had multiple sets of Nike irons and and wedges at the time when they still used to make their golf clubs. So, I got my four, five, 6, seven, eight, nine over there. So, the Nike Vapor Pro combo iron set just means that uh the the longer irons, the four and five and six a little bit, they have uh bigger cavity backs on them, wider cavity backs, which makes them more forgiving to hit. You can’t work the ball as much left and right, but they’re more forgiving for the long irons. And then as you get into the shorter irons, the eight and nine and seven, they are uh a different type of cavity back. They’re a little bit slimmer, more like a blade. It’s for increased workability left and right and a little bit less forgiveness, but that’s okay. You want to be able to shape these clubs more, the eight and the nine and the seven irons. You want to be able to work the ball left and right. So, that’s how they are designed. It’s a closeup of the Nike Vapor Pro combo forged eight iron. This is one of my favorite irons to hit. All of my iron shafts are the true temper dynamic gold steel shafts in stiff flex. When I got fit for my clubs, I was fit for the stiff flex at the time. The the extra stiff, which the Tor Pros play mostly, just was a little bit beyond my my range for my swing speed at the time. Uh, so based on my ball flight and my swing speed and all that, that’s why I was fit for the stiff shaft flex groove is not looking too bad for 10 years of of use. Loft uh angles for these irons. I had to look them up cuz uh 10 years ago I didn’t memorize the lofts from that long ago. Obviously, they vary from club brand to club brand and and models, but uh the four iron is 23°, 5 iron is 26 degrees, 6 iron is 30°, 7 iron is 34°, 8 iron is 38°, and that 9 iron is 42°. The Nike Vapor Pro uh combo iron set also comes with two wedges, the pitching wedge and the approach wedge. Pitching wedge is 46° and the approach wedge is 51°. Then into my actual wedges, my higher lofted wedges. I have a 56 degree Titalist Voki SM5 F grind sand wedge with 14 degrees of bounce. Okay, so 56. That’s a standard standard law for for a lot of uh sand wedges out there. Same shaft as my irons, dynamic gold. True tempered dynamic gold. So, the bounce on this thing is 14°, which is a high a high degree of bounce. So, what that means is you can see the sole there. It’s it’s a lot thicker. Uh it’s on the thicker side. So, this is really good for getting out of uh thick sand in bunkers and um for for making uh more solid contact with the ball if you need to hit like a longer wedge shot. Uh this works well for that. Then my highest lofted wedge, which I absolutely love, same model. It is the Titalist Voki SM5 uh 60deree lob wedge but with eight degrees of bounce. And this one is the M grind. So the eight degrees of bounce, that’s less than 14 for my sand wedge. So this just has a little bit um a little bit more rounded of a of a sole there. So when that hits the ground, it’s it’s better for picking the ball off the ground more gently and and lofting it up higher in the air. I like this uh this mid range bounce. You can go even lower than this. Bounces go down to, you know, around four degrees. So I love this club. I’ll hit this club on anything 75 to, you know, yards in. I love hitting my 60 60°ree wedge, putting some loft on it, getting it up in the air, and getting it to stop quickly. Wedges are decently scuffed there. I hit a lot of wedge shots. I’m a I’m a short game guru. I spend a lot of time on my short game hitting wedge shots, but still, I’d say in pretty good shape for for the amount of golf balls that I must have hit in that time. In terms of distances that I hit each club, I can just give a general estimate. My 60 I usually hit around 85 to 100 yards on a on a full swing, my lob wedge. And my 56 degree sand wedge, I usually get about uh 100 to 105 out of that. The approach wedge, I get about 115 yards out of that. Pitching wedge is more like 130 to 135. Nine irons about 145 to 150 on a good strike. Eight irons around 160. Seven irons around 170. six irons around 180, 185. And then my five and my four iron, I honestly don’t hit these very consistent distances just because I suck at hitting long irons. But the five, if I can get that out to around 195 or so, 190, 195, that’s good. And my four, I usually hit around 200, 205 on a good strike. And like I said earlier, the hybrid I don’t hit at all, so I couldn’t tell you distance because I haven’t hit this thing in a long time, and I’m not really interested in hitting it. Uh, and then my 3-wood, I hit about uh two, I’d say around 230. and then roll out additionally after that. Driver distance probably around 260 carry plus roll out after that. I’m not a super long driver, but as long as I can get some roll out beyond that, I’m usually okay. And then my putter. Yes, my putter. Let’s get into the details of that. So, this is another Nike relic before they stopped making golf clubs. This is the Nike Method Core 3i putter. So, similar model to what Tiger Woods once played back in the day when he was still using Nike clubs. He used the the standard method without the insert. So, this one is the three eye core. So, it has the uh insert there in the center, a little red insert, different material, and it has some some grooves on there. Uh Tiger used the the regular one without the insert. It just had grooves without the insert. standard blade style putter kind of like you know your traditional ping answer or Scotty Cameron type but Nike method. This putter is 34 inches in length. At the time I just went with the 34 because that was a standard what they had in stock when I went to buy my clubs about 10 years ago. Uh, but honestly, a 34 inch putter, as I’ll show you, is a little bit uh tall for me because I’m 5’7 and I’m really more fit for a uh a 33in putter. So, my next putter is going to be a 33in putter. As you can see here, this grip on my putter is uh severely uh shedding away. Very old. Most Tour Pros use between 33 and 35 in putters. You would think that the taller you are, automatically, the longer putter you should have. That generally might be true, but a bunch of different factors come into play, just what the player is comfortable with and where their hands are sort of positioned when they like to uh putt the ball. So, this is my old 34in putter. Now, if I just, you know, line up for a comfortable putting position, good standing in the ground, and then I let my hands hang straight down, you know, sort of as far as they can go, straight down in front of me when I make my putting stroke. And as you can see when I do that, there’s still a good two inches or more, probably almost three inches of grip here above my highest hand on the club. So, it just makes me feel like my hands are way too low on the grip. So, even though I’ve used this for a while, my next putter will be a 33 inch. That way, it’ll just be it’ll allow me to get my hands a little bit more centered on the grip. I don’t want to feel like I’m standing too tall, too unnaturally tall when I go to hit my putting stroke. I want my hands to just sort of hang down loose and not have as much excess on the grip. So, I think the 33 inch putter will be better for me. All right, maybe last thing for this video. What ball do I play? I’ve been playing the Bridgestone Torby XS for a little while now. This is Tiger’s golf ball that he plays, right? So, it’s for swing speeds over 105 miles per hour with tour level spin. So, pretty sure that the uh Bridgestone when they came out with these balls, they did the um the Torby X and the Torbby XS. So, the X is a little bit more for distance. It’s a little bit harder of a ball for distance and the Torby XS is a little bit softer with a little bit more spin. That’s the one that I prefer just because I like to be able to spin the ball more around the greens. I like to be in more control of uh short game shots and things like that around the green. So, I prefer the one with a little bit more spin. Again, this is the same one that Tiger Woods plays. All right, there’s my overview of my decades old golf clubs. Nike bag, by the way. Same old Nike bag I’ve been playing for 10 years, too. We’ll be uh unboxing and getting a new putter soon. Yes. Can’t wait. See you next time.

I’m still playing my clubs I got when I got out of Medic school. I’m still hitting my Ping G5 Driver, woods, hybrid, i5 irons and my old cobra putter. Thinking of getting fitted for new ones again.
