Kevin de Brun made his debut for Napoli in their preseason opening match against Siri seaside Aretszo on Tuesday. The 33-year-old who joined the Syria champions on a 2-year contract in a free transfer in June was named in the starting 11 by the boss Antonio Ki, but it was not the debut he had hoped for. De Brun started dawning the number 11 jersey and not the iconic number 10 he was allowed to train with as it was retired in honor of club legend Diego Marona in 2000. Despite of combining with his new teammates, including Aleandro Zenoli, the Belgian only managed to fire wide on two occasions in the sluggish contest that ended in a surprising two-nil defeat by the Tuscan minions who struck at the late stages of each half despite of Napoli maintaining control on most part of the clash. Kanti’s team clearly missed the service of Scott McTominay who was out of the friendly game with muscle fatigue, but they will hope to have him back when they face Siri beside Kenzer on Saturday.
