Robert MacIntyre speaks to the media following the third round at The Open Championship
overall feeling after that? Ah, just a bit disappointed. Um, yeah, I wasn’t as sharp as I’ve been the last couple of days, but on the far round and we’ve moved forward. You make that great B there on 11 and then 12 seemed to be the turning point for three put and 12. Yeah. Yeah. Perfect T- shot between clubs. Hit the longer one thinking it was the right move and just left one awkward 50 odd footer. Um, again, you’re wary of putting that off the green. So, I misread it a little bit. Stays up or halfway up the slope. Um, leave yourself a trick. I missed that. And then, yeah, just stalls all momentum. You feel like you’re actually gaining. Um, and then, yeah, it was just a day that was so. I feel I ask you this all the time, so I probably don’t need to ask you anymore. But you’ve got this great ability to keep your head in it because on the 14th we’re looking at you think, you know, you’re getting really angry, but you managed to keep your head in it. Can you just tell us how you Yeah. switch yourself back on again? I think it’s fair game to to lose the plot every now and again. Um, like I’ve I I feel like we we’ve made the wrong decision off the tea on on 14, which is then made the second shot at 14 really difficult. As a left-handed golfer, just just try to hold that wind. Um, obviously in that bunker, bunker’s dead. First job, get out the bunker, then hit it over the top. I’ve lost the plot on both of them after both of them shots. Bit of anger came out. But then when I’m hitting that part, I’ve got a clear head of just I’ve got a job to do. Get this thing up and down. And I find it fairly easy just now. I find it easier in the bigger golf golf tournaments, the ones where birdies aren’t happening all the time. Um when you can actually feel as though you can good golf gets rewarded. Um so the tougher the test, the more I feel like I can keep that discipline. the more that there’s a birthday fest and a shootout, um, that’s when I lose it properly. You’ve spoken before about Sheffler. I mean, when you see his name at the top of the leaderboard, what what are you thinking? You’re concentrating on your own game, but how daunting is that to see him doing what he’s doing? Yeah, I mean, he’s by far the best player in the world. Um, remember the start of this year we done a asked Mike to before I had a stats guy and all that asked Mike to have a look at all the stats to see how close we are to number one in the world. Um Mike stopped after a couple of stats checked and he went to number two because he realized that I mean when we checked the stats I mean Sheffller was further ahead of number two in the world than I was at whatever I was 15 16 in the world to number two. Um so yeah he’s an exceptional player, great guy and yeah works so hard. still in there. You can have a big Sunday and really make this a big week. Even if you don’t get your hand trophy, it can still be a huge week for you. Yeah, I that’s all I mean when I went home last night when I left here yesterday, I thought beautiful links golf’s working its magic. Um I’m sitting on my couch almost in tears because I’m watching flags are limp, guys are spinning it on greens and I I thought walking away from here last night that I wouldn’t be more than three shots back. ended up five shots back from the best player in the world and it feels like yes, you can still be in it if something happens but you just feel that little bit too far back and um I don’t know if that had an effect on me where I felt like I was I was having to push a bit more and a couple of mistakes came in early on and um but no tomorrow’s go out there and finish as high as we can get as many World Rank and Rider Cup points as we can and um yeah see will always be you. You’ll always push on and try and crack to win it. And if you come to 20th and 20th and second, yeah, I mean, try and win it first. Yeah. I’m sitting here now and I’m unless I go off to a hot hot start, it’s probably out the window. So, it’s now if we don’t go off to the hot start, it’s just going to be right, how high can we finish here. Um, it’s not throw the kitchen sink at it. Unless I do have a hot hot start and I see my name close to leading within a few shots, then we’ll throw it at it. But I think tomorrow at this position that I’m in and seeing the leaderboards, it’s just joggy for position. Any words you have in the shifinal? I don’t know. I mean, I don’t I I think it was going well at the start. So, was it celebration for them at home? Thanks for your time. We appreciate good luck tomorrow.

The accents of those three lol
These players need to fight dirty with Scottie since they can't seem to be beat him fairly very often. Play the heel and start talking sh1t about Scheffler in the press to get in his head, just like they do in politics and in combat sports, Fury vs Klitschko in 2015 being a great example, Kyrgios in tennis got himself to a Wimbledon final by getting in players heads, golf could use a heel. The police arrest threw Scheffler off his game in 2024…..the others need to get creative and have fire alarms 'mysteriously' go off in his hotel room at 2am the night before a major starts etc, play dirty or continue to lose to Scheffler.
In stark comparison to Matt Fitzpatrick , Robert is a lovely guy , has the perfect attitude and let's hope he wins a major sometime soon.
I have been a stay at Home mom with no money in my IRA or any savings of my own, which was scary at 53 years of age. Three years ago I got a part time job and save everything I make. After 3 years, I am 56 yr and have put $9,000 in an IRA and $40,000 in my portfolio with CFA, Robert Herjavec. Since the goal of getting a job was to invest for retirement and NOT up my lifestyle, I was able to scale this quickly to $150,000. If I can do this in a year, anyone can

What was the last question?
Scheffler is killing golf, one boring tournament at a time.
No personality, no charisma and no star quality.
my attraction to golf is the way the players can string together words with clarity and forethought, that was my beef about tiger – he held a rather snarly and abrupt interview – with age he is improving now.
If you are between clubs on your 2nd, was it really a perfect tee shot? 🤔
Hilarious even for him to be compared to Scheffler stats. Great guy talking about another great guy
Great scottish accents these. Perfectly easy to understand for us x
MacIntyre is one of the most unlikeable guys in golf.
Clueless interviewer
He needs to get a sports psychiatrist.
Such a classy guy. Great fun being a fan to a man like this.
What a very, pleasant young gentleman.
