Have taken the field, Andrew Heaney and his teammates, Pirates wearing their all white Unis and Heaney for his third win of the season. 33 year old veteran lefty in his 12th big league campaign, 22 pitch from Heaney to Tatis is a called third strike. A nice job by Heaney picking a part of the inside part of play and working away when needed to for that punch out looking one ball, two strike pitch jammed him and it’s an easy comebacker for Heaney. He’ll trot toward first and lob it on to Valdez for the second out line, the fair ball down the field line kicks off the box seats and Machado to second base with a two out double. You know, you’re going good, you know, things are going well, man. Yeah, shaka five game hitting streak now for Machado at second base with two down. Here’s Xander Bogaerts in the cleanup spot today for the Padres grounder off the glove at third base of Hayes in the left field. Here comes Machado. Padres will take a 10 lead. Hayes who played very well defensively yesterday can’t come up with this one and the Padres strike first and that’s ball four. He walks in, that’s ball four and another walk for Heaney back to back walks here in the first inning loads the bases. So the pods have them loaded with two away and Iglesias at the dish, the pitch ground ball shortstop up with it, Triolo and they’ll toss to Frazier for the force in the final out seven to the plate. They score one after a half inning. Padres, one pirates come to bat. Stephen kick making his first start in a Padres uniform. Welcome back, Steven. Good to have you. Fire strikes. Go get him. Cruz strikes out looking good start for stephen King. Oh, yeah. Right here. He wants a fastball in. It’s right down the middle that’s frozen pizza. Cruz looking for something else. Ground ball right side. Iglesias slides to his right for out number two towards Nando in right field to make the catch that will end the first step kick a 123 1st inning, a one. Padres lead. Andres with a 10 lead as we start the second inning in Pittsburgh. Leis Diaz leads off against lefty Andrew Heaney in the air to left field struck pretty well. Pham going back towards the warning track at the wall and it’s gone home run. Diaz connects on his third of the year and the Padres take a 20 lead that will bring the Padre fans to their feet here at PNC park. We’ve seen a lot of brown and gold in attendance. The grounder that is a fair ball. Lockridge with very good speed thinking two throw is headed there but he’ll get in safely. He was thinking two right out of the box and a double for brandon Lockridge. Here he goes for third, a ground ball to shortstop. Triolo will fire to first and it’s not in time beating it out is a 1st and 3rd 2 down here in the Padres. Second inning for Xander line to left and that’s in for a hit from third base comes Lockridge arise will be waved around going to try and score. Here comes the throw, he will be safe ball gets away. Bogaerts will take third. Xander drives in two more three RBS today for Xander Bogaerts. Padres lead it 4 to 0. That’s ball four and the first walk allowed by kick leadoff base on balls here in the third inning on the ground to third base, Manny Machado. Third is going to go to first on a hop and they get him. That’s such a beautiful play that never gets old. One swift move moving into foul territory. The hob and the stretch by a quarter step. That’s strike three. He did top of the zone. Third strikeout for king two down. Second time fastball down the middle, catches a lot of the plate and frozen pizza. That’s right at the bell buckle. I don’t know what he’s looking for there. That strike three gets him looking on a slider back to back strikeouts for four in all that’s hard hit and back hit it nicely on the short hop by the shortstop. Triolo throws on to get Tatis 12 pitch popped it up and coming in shallow left field makes a sliding attempt but, and he does hang on, Tommy Pham taking a catch and that one was literally on the very knee. He just banged up into that wall , takes it the other way into right field base, hit second hit on the day for Manny Machado. And that’s ball four pitch and it’s called ball four runners go throw to third. Nobody was covering double steal Machado Bogart and that’s ball four back to back walks allowed by Heaney. Four walks in all the second time campusano has taking a walk and here comes Derek Shelton 99 pitches today for Heaney and got to him for a run in the first three in the second and are threatening here with the bases loaded two down in the fourth inning. That’s the day for Andrew Heaney. Colin Holderman takes over bases loaded two down Oscar Gonzalez. Did he go? Yes, Ferman comes on and strands the bases loaded Pierogi race. Always a good time. We, we got a photo finish here. Now this is close. They got their light sabers with them. One’s got a purse. I think that’s Hannah with the purse. Very close. Yeah, full count on tommy fan leading off the fifth that’s solidly struck and Tommy Pham, a two for two today, Derek Shelton wanted to give him a reset and it’s working solid line drive got a good pitch to hit. I mean, it’s just a fastball right down the middle to left center field. Lockridge will step in front of Gonzalez and make the catch for out. Number one, almost a collision. Pham is not going in a ground ball to third base Machado to second for one on to first. It’ll be late. Didn’t look like Iglesias could get as much on that throw as he wanted to coming across the back at second. Look at the lead man. I Pham though 5 to 4 on the force out in the air to shallow , left center, Lockridge will get there hung up long enough for him to run underneath it first out of the pen after Heaney chased after just three and two thirds innings. 99 pitches, those three and two thirds innings today for the Pirates ground ball and a base hit into left field for a rise. Second hit of the day ground ball and that’s through into left field. Machado’s third hit of the day rise will take second Padres have something going with one away on the ground to shortstop Triolo to second for one on to first for two double play holder. Been able to get a boar to ground into it. Four padre, but he’s been going with his number one that sinker has been his best weapon there. You see 46.8% of the time he’s gone to today throwing it for a strike, 72% of the time. Let’s see if he can take him the rest of the way guys to short boards gets him. I’ll tell you what that looked like he was going to go right for the grill of kick. This ball is just and Then you take a look at the positioning, look at this ball, look out eats of Xander hit so hard. He utilizes the one out to get Cruz. That’s ball four. Second walk of the day allowed by kick. This one comes with one out of the inning, 84 pitches for kick first start and a very good one. He departs after five and a third innings today, Jeremiah Strata first out of the pen today. Last time I was on Friday through 15 pitches fresh and ready to go. Pitch lines his ball down the line in right field and that is a fair ball and bounces into the seats. That’s ok. 2nd and 3rd, an automatic double for Joey Bart Joey Barrels, base runners and that’s the first extra base hit for the Pirates since that Jared Triolo. Sixth inning double on Friday swung on and missed. He struck him out needed that out. Number two of the inning swing and a miss he struck him out back to back strikeouts for Estrada to strain a couple of guys in scoring position. One ball, two strikes. The pitch and a fly ball left center field over is Jason Hayward and the ball will bounce into the notch and Gorski is headed to third and Gorski is going to be at third a head first dive. No play there. Matt Gorski a triple into the left center gap on the ground deep third, Machado’s coming home. He does that all the time. If somebody wants to run in front of him, he will go. Plate gets the lead runner at Gorski 5 to 2 on the put out, man. He’s moving. He’s got to find a way to get that rock to home plate without hitting the runner. I mean, he’s in foul territory. He gets up underneath, it gives a high throw to Diaz for the 52 put out at the plate nicely done and a strike three, he’s ducking out of the way. Ends up being a strike on a sinker from Maury Hone. He gets two strikeouts in the inning. The big right hander Jason Adam four nothing bottom of the ninth. Last chance for the Bucks on the ground in the back hand. Bogard trouble getting it out of the glove, but no problem gets it there in time one away in the ninth bouncing ball right side. That’s going to sneak through for Hayes. That’s his second hit today. It’s his fifth hit of the series swing and strikes out on a slider two down in the ninth inning base runners. There’s a baserunner two for two day for matt Gorski, 2 to 2 pitch. He stuck him on the Padres win. They are able to shut out the Pirates today and a clean sweep for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jason Adam able to strike out Mccutchen.

  1. Imagine paying good hard money to go watch this stuff in your off time. People in Pittsburgh continue to give the organization money that's why they continue to lose.

  2. Arrrr… Our underwhelming offensive attack is not acceptable, Maties… It's time for new swords and better strategy… Arrrr 🏴‍☠️

  3. Ben Cherington has been the worst GM over the last 5 years, not even close. Just a joke at this point.

  4. Why is there a "baseball" team in pITTsburgh? Their season was over after the second week. Shut the season down and save the gas money.
