This set of golf clubs costs over $4,000. This set of golf clubs cost just $1,000. Today, we’re going to put them head-to-head in a little match play. I’m going to play this side with a black marked Titus and this side with a red marked Titalist. We’ll see how these affordable golf clubs from Sticks compete with the high-end clubs that I have from Titalist in my gamer bag. I got a feeling it’s going to be a little bit closer than you might expect. Two clubs. Let’s start with sticks. This is the compete driver with the red ball. That should play. Ooh, car path. It’s going to be way down there. All right, let’s hit one with my gamer titleless TSI 3. All right, almost identical. Both over to the left. See what we can do. Good start. Oops. Missed you that time. Muddy golf ball after all the storms. That’s the titalist. It’s a little shorter than the sticks was, but I kind of didn’t hit either of those very good if I’m being honest. Now, we might be able to hit a stock 56. According to tangent, we got about 99 yards to hole. So, that’s just a normal 56. I favor maybe the left side of the green because of this overhanging tree. Try to get a putt. Chunked it. Okay. Chunked it bad enough to be short of the bunker. We missed the green with the titalist. Let’s see what we can do with sticks. A little bit closer with the sticks one. 56° for the sticks as well. Also from the rough, but we do have a cleaner look. There’s no trouble directly in front of me. Just 90 yards. It’s about 10 yards closer. Felt pretty good. It’s right at it. That looks pretty good. All right. See uh see if we can get up and down with the Tylus club. Go a little. Go a little. Go a lot. All right. Pretty good shot. We got a putt for par. It’s all we can ask with the titleist. See what the putters can do. We got a birdie look with the sticks gloves. Should be straight up the hill. Just pulled it. But we don’t get mad at easy pars. All right, now with the Tyler club, I’m going to try to scramble. See if we can get up and down after missing the green. This is for par. Luckily, it was on almost the same line. So, I just saw what it does. And now I’ve got my tried and true putter in my hand. Pulled it, too. That was a bad stroke. That’s a five. Sticks is one up through one. Tangent AI Caddy has us hitting driver down the middle on this par five. Let’s rip it. Par five. You got overhanging trees here on the right. Tangent says to squeeze a driver up there. Hitting the red ball with the sticks club. Empty up a little higher. See if we can get it up over that tree. Hug the right side of the fairway. There’s a little bit of a creek on the left we want to just stay away from. Blocked it a touch right for safety, but that’s hammered and that’s where we wanted to miss. If we’re going to miss, we want to miss to the right. Let’s see what the Tilus can do. Same target, hugging the right hand side. I hit these almost the same distance. So, same game plan. Little over swing there. Should be okay. Land soft. That’s dangerously close to the creek. Pulled it a little bit, but should be all right. Two drives in play. We were playing with fire here, but uh we’re up. We just got to lay up on this par five. I should be able to get a 52 on this and just get it up there. Didn’t plan for the foot slippage. Let’s uh call that a good miss. I think we’re in play. All right. This is where you’re tempted to be aggressive and try to sling something around here. But the smart play is to take my medicine and just get this back in the fairway and move forward. So that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to get this into the fairway, get on the green and three, make an easy par, and not try to be crazy. Punch this with just a punch with a sixiron. Should have a pretty good gap between these trees to get in the fairway. When you’re in trouble, get out. All right, not the best, but we’re back in play. All right, this is the sticks golf ball. We got 130 yards to the middle. Saying nine iron. That pin’s kind of front left. If we change that, changes it to 124. Still likes nine iron. So, we’re go just right of that pin. Fat of the green. Get something dancing. Oh, that’s a sweet swing. Be the number. Oh, nuked it. Caught a flyer out of the rough. Man, I hit that really good and flew the green. We’re going to be scrambling. Hit it too good. That felt really nice. A little closer here with that layup with the titleless club. We got about 100 yards according to tangent. Recommended 56. Same thing though. We’re just trying to get a putt just right at that pin. That’s a better swing. A wedge I didn’t hit fat. I like that. All right, we got a putt with a Titus club. Maybe we can get back in the match. This is the sticks ball. Ironmel the green. I actually hit that uh really well. I went down from the AI caddy to a pitching wedge and still nuked it. So, this is my first round or well, my second nine with the sticks club. So, the caddy is still learning, but clearly I can hit that pitching wedge a long way. Winning in trouble. Let’s get this on the green. See if we can make a putt. All right, not bad. The biggest mistake I could have made was not getting that on the green. Now we have a putt for par. Uh, that’s all we can ask for. All right, we got 14 ft or so to save our par. Little low. All right, that’s a bogey with the sticks club. Tylus has a chance to get back in the match. All right, after a really good wedge, we got 12 ft for birdie. See if we can get one on the board. That away. Squares up the match. Here we go. Even. Let’s go. Good wedge shot there. Hey man, I can play this game. Titalist has the honor after a birdie. Tangent AI Caddy says driver. So, we’re ripping it down the left side. Just cover that tree. Oh, yeah. That was a monster. See if we can follow that one with sticks. Goodness, that bow was hammered. Position A. This is the compete driver from sticks. Oh, I pulled that a little bit. Oh, hit a tree. Got a little quick with it, but should be all right. It’s on the left hand side. All right, we pulled that one left and got in the trees. So, we got 155. Little punchy one, but we got away with it. Wasn’t my best swing there, but you know, golf is a game of misses. It’s all about the good miss, right? Good miss keeps us in the game. So, let’s see if we can get this one on the green. Aim a little left of that pen to give us some more room. Catch a piece. Okay, smart play. Didn’t get on the green, but we’re shorting left. Should be a pretty manageable up and down. Got out of jail. All right, this is the titleless drive. We got 60 yards to the front, 70 yards to the flag. I’ve got a little 56 here. See if we can get something dancing. have a putt. Chance to go uh one up maybe a good chip here. Stay a little left. Take that bunker out of play. Little heavy. Little heavy, but it’s putting on the safe side. And we like putting. Let’s go make one. All right, we hit two average to below average shots for me. And then still we’re just off the green chipping in a pretty good spot. We got a chance to get up and down here. Little uh bump and run. I liked that. Okay. Little aggressive. Little meat for par there, but that’s a pretty good chip. I like the aggressiveness. All right. Here’s the titleist putt for birdie. God, these balls are filthy with all the rain we’ve had. All right. All right, from a puff from this distance, we’re really just trying to get it close, get the speed right, and hopefully it’ll have a chance to go in. But the main thing we want is speed here. Be pretty straight. Maybe a little left to right. Don’t think I hit it hard enough. Oh, I did. Pretty good putt. Ought to be an easy par. And we like easy pars. All right, Titalus is in with the par. Got a little bit of more work to do with the sticks clubs to not go one down in the match, but after recovery shot, we’re okay. Pretty good look here. Greens are not great. Should go a little right to left. We’re going to try to hit this right edge and a little firm. Take some of the bumps out of it. Oh, I hit an aration hole. Went dead right. That’s not the putter. Greens are bumpy, but that’s a bogey. Tital list is uh one up through three. Didn’t grab the right clubs. I’ve got pitching wedges even with a little help. It’s just saying it plays like 150. Probably plays longer than that. Let me read a couple nine irons. Be right back. All right. AI Caddy says nine iron. That’s where we’re hitting. Titus has the honor. Chunked it. But since we took the right club, I covered the bunker and that may be putting. But that was not a great swing. See if we can do better with the sticks club. Red ball. Much better strike. Much better line. Woo. And almost long. I hit these sticks clubs a long way. Be interested to see how far that went. But that was a long well struck nine iron to the back of the green. We’re putting sticks nine iron got to the back of the green. The titleless one I kind of mish hit but landed over this hill. It’s almost pen high, but we’ve got a long putt uh from just off the green. So, we’re going to Texas wedge it here. See if we can get up and in for par. Settle in. That is pretty good. Pretty good. Should be a tap in par there for the titalist. See if we can do a sticks club. Good birdie look here. That nine iron went a long way, man. I hit those sticks pretty far. They’re a little bit more of a cavity back, so they go a little bit further than my titleist do even. All right, let’s see if we can snuggle this one up there. Maybe give it a chance. Do it. Oh, all right. Good putt. Should be two tap in pars. No blood titleless remains. One up. There’s one. Let’s make it official. Two. We like easy pars. That’s two of them. Tylus one up. Hole 14 which is our fifth hole. AI caddy saying threewood. I kind of like driver here. So, I can click in here and I can say more club and it’ll load and tell me where to hit driver. So, driver right in the middle. It’s telling me three-wood because it is a little bit of a narrow fairway, but you can override it. So, driver, we’re going to take this right down the middle. Titleless has the honor. You were scared you might. That was hit hard. But to the right, the fairway is open for sticks. All right, same thing here. Try to take it right down the middle. Hit hard. It’s a chance to get one back. Little towy, but that will do. Drawing nicely to the middle of the fairway. I bet that one’s going to run. Sticks is in position A. This is the title of this ball, and we are in jail. When in jail, you want to get out. So, I either have to take some risk of hitting it through those trees or go straight sideways. That drive did go 270 yards. I think that window’s big enough I’m comfortable punching it through there. So, that’s what we’re going to do. When in trouble, get out. But we are just laying up with the title of this ball whereas Stixs is in position A out there in the fairway. It’s key to focus on these shots. And that’s perfect. field goal. It’s good. Thank you. AI Caddy is saying four hybrid. So, that’s what we got. Uh 3-wood. I hit one. I hit one on the front nine that went 250 yards. So, I think four hybrids to play with the wind. They should bounce up there, but we’re going to favor right hand side of the green. Try to give it some room to bounce. Oh, I smoked it, but I blocked it. needs to draw two yards. Oh wow, that was easily there. I smoke this hybrid. You know, I didn’t like the way that it sounds when I hit it in the simbe, but I am crushing this thing on the golf course. Uh I like it better than I did. I’ll put it that way. Okay, looks like we’ve got right at about 100 yards to the middle from that punch out with the Titalist. So, we got a 56 in hand. Let’s get on the green. See if we can get a birdie putt. We got out of jail. We got into a good position. We’re going to aim a little bit right at this flag like AI Caddy says just to take away the left and the bunkers. Middle of the green is good. Ah, towed it a bit. Got to go. It’s right at it though. I think it’s a little short. Didn’t quite get all of it, but it was on a good line and we’re putting. That’s what we want. Pretty good shot there from the sticks club. We are pen high and two, so this is technically an eagle chip. Little muddy lie. Okay, we’re going to go low with the 56 and try to scoot it up there. Oh, too much. Spin, spin, spin. Too much. Got a little aggressive with that with the mud. But it is a birdie putt. Got two birdie putts, one with each club. See if we can make one. All right, that’s two good shots. That was a mediocre chip. We got more than we wanted for birdie, but it’s still birdie. See if we can roll a putt in. Stay up. It’s a good run. You don’t get mad at easy pars. It’s a par with sticks. And Tidalist has a chance to take a two up lead after having to punch out of the trees. That’s just not right. Hit a worse drive, but a better wedge. All right, four feet for birdie. No, broke to the right. I thought it might. Par, no blood. Titus stays one up. Okay, par three. Titus still has the honors. Tangent AI caddy saying 173 playing like 179 and recommends an eight iron adjusted seven yards. So we’re gonna aim right towards the middle of the green and really just try to get something up there on the dance floor. Uh let’s start with the title of the seven iron draw. Pretty well struck. It’s going to be a long putt though. We like putting. Let’s see what sticks can do. Try to do the same thing and maybe started a little bit left of that. Oh, and I jumped at it, too. That’s a poor swing from me. But we’re okay. We got plenty of green to work with over there. I just jumped at it trying to mash it when I didn’t need to. All right, we missed a little left here, but not the worst spot. We got plenty of green to work with. We got a pretty good chance to get up and down. Just probably a little bit of a tired, lazy swing. I’m gonna hit a 56. Let’s try to run it up there. Go hard. Go hard. Go hard. That’s pretty good. Pretty good little shot there. We got a chance to save par with the sticks gloves. Chance for birdie to take a pretty commanding lead. Now, sticks is in there tight with a pretty good chance at par. Again, from this distance, pace is critical. Let it just trickle in. Stay up. Stay up. Stay up. Oh, buckets. That’s a good putt. There’s one for Titalist. Don’t make the par putt for good measure. That’s in off the flag stick. That’s one thing between the two golf clubs. Using the uh Titalus, I get to use my normal Nike putter. That’s a big difference. I’ve made a lot of putts with that Nike putter. Just more used to it. But that was a bomb there for Tylus to go two up. Three to play. All right, three holes left. We are on the 16th. Little dog leg left. Par four. Tangent. AI Caddy has his hidden driver. We can kind of cut the corner here. Tyler is first up. It draws. That should be pretty good. Oh, that is hammered. All right, sticks. Let’s go catch that one. I’d like to have two good drives on the same hole so we could set them side by side. I’ve yet to do that yet. It’s harder than I expected to play two balls. All right. All right. Well, that’s the best I’ve done back to back, but little blocked down the right hand side. Pretty good T- shot, though. We’re happy with that. Let’s find him. Hit him again. All right. Just narrowly avoided this tree. We got an amp bed there. So, here’s a ruling for you. If you’re going to stand in a live amp bed, you get free relief. We’re going to take it. We’ve been playing lift cleaning place anyway cuz the rain. So, we’re going to go slightly this way so we don’t have to disturb the ants. We’ve got 113 yards to the middle. Tangent AI caddy. Let’s move that to a front pin. Front pen says 108. It’s going to switch to a 52 any minute. Nope. Cuz my phone’s in my cart. We’re going to hit a 52° 110. See if we can get it up there. Just get something dancing. It’s out of the rough, so this might jump a little bit. Soft one. Just a little bit left of it. Took too much off it. Maybe it’s on a good line. One hop. Yep. Just took too much off of it, but uh put it in a good spot. We got a putt. All right. We hammered that titleless ball. That was one of my better swings of the day. And part of that is just comfort level with a club I’ve been swinging for a long time. But we’ve got about 70 yards left. So that’s about 30 yards further than I hit that sticks driver. But I didn’t hit that stick driver. Perfect. See if we can get it closer than the uh the wedge there. Felt pretty good about that. Oh yeah, that’s just not fair. It’s a good golf shot right there. Texas wedge time. Just a little tentative with that wedge. Didn’t quite get it all the way back there. I took one less than the Caddy told me to. So maybe chalk one up to AI Caddy. But we left in a good spot. See if we can make this easy on ourselves. Oh, do it. Almost. We went for it. Let’s clean up this par from the sticks club. Easy four. Don’t get mad at easy fours. It’s probably not good enough to win the hole. That’s backto-back birdies for the titalist. And uh I believe they’re three up with two to play. See if we can do the last two holes. This is a difficult hole. So tangent AI caddy has me either hitting 3-wood or drivers. The aggressive line cutting that corner cuz you have water up there. Driver, you have to get it up in a hurry from this T- box. But honestly, I don’t like laying up. It’s a tough layup. So, we’re going to take the aggressive route. We’re going to hit driver and we’re going to aim way out there over these houses. See what we can do. And we are cutting this corner right over those trees. Get left. Get left. Get left. Don’t know if that’s okay or not. Is it good? Little right of where I wanted. Let’s see if we can get sticks a little bit left of that. Easily got it over the trees though. That is poor. Get lucky. All right, we narrowly avoided disaster. Decent drives, but not as far left as AIDS told me to hit. So, I was scaring this water a little bit, but here we go. We got 90 yards to the middle. That pin’s maybe a little bit back. So, we’ll play it like 95 with the sticks clubs. That’s a 56. See if we can get something dancing. I pulled it, but it should find the green. All right, we got a putt. That’s all we can ask for. See if we can make one. I tie this ball got a little bit further up here. hit it just a little bit cleaner. And so we’re just hitting a 60° here. Trying to get it all the way back to that pen at like 85 yards. Just a 60°. I have struggled with wedges. That’s putting, but it’s very, very fat. Even my clubs I can hit fat. Don’t always hit them perfect. It’s a game of misses. Let’s go make a putt. All right. When you chunk a ball that heavy, groov it comes in handy to get that club singing again. Nice magnet for the brush. Quick wipe down with the towel. And uh it’s good as new. Nice and clean. So that hopefully I won’t chunk it again. Groove it. Get you one. Neither of those were very good wedges. We got 39 ft here. from 39 ft. We really just want to get you something close. If it falls in, that’s a bonus. Yeah, two mediocre wedges. That was a back pin and I just didn’t commit to them. Let’s make up for it with a good pace on this putt. That’s it. Uh-oh. Good. Not great. Little meat on that bone for Tidalus. See if we can get a little closer with sticks. All right, similar putt, similar distance. Let’s get the pace right. Settle in, sweetie. Pretty good. Couple of putts there. See if we can make them. All right. Little three-footer for par and it’s in. Three for sticks or four for sticks. See if we can match with titalist. Yep. All right. Two fours. Didn’t hit the best wedges there, but hey, we don’t get mad at easy pars. Fours are good. Right now, sticks is just running into a buzz saw. Titleless clubs played really well. I’ve made three birdies, I think, on this nine with one to play. Both clubs are still doing well. We’re playing well with both clubs. We’ll see where it shakes out at the end. All right, last hole. 370 yard par4. Tatty says driver. Titleist still has the honors. Black ball. Let’s finish strong. Playing well. Playing well with both balls. Teas in my mouth. Searching in my pocket. All right, Caddyy wants me to kind of favor the lefth hand side. So, we’re aiming at that tree through the fairway. And let’s hit a bomb. Something like that. That was beautiful. Smoke coming off of that one. See if we can catch it with the uh compete driver here from sticks. That’s going to be a tough one to track down. That’s hit pretty hard. A little bit further to the right, but I would take that drive every single time. That was also hammered. Good start to this last hole. All right, pretty long drive there. 273 yds. See, a Titus is a little bit further, but really that’s cuz I’m used to that shaft and I hit it a little bit better, but they’re pretty close. It’s only about 10 15 yards difference. So, 270 yards. AI Caddy is recommending a 52 to get back to the pen. Let’s knock one up there after I get a glove. 52. It’s a left pin, so we’re going to favor just a little bit right of it. Let’s get something on the floor. A little left, but it should be putting. We’ll take that. Not a bad shot. That wasn’t the best of lies. Putt for birdie on 18. All right, tireless. We hit it a little further. So, we’ve just got 85 yds to the center. We’re going to hit a 60° wedge here. Even though that says 56, we’re going to hit a 60. Feeling good with the 60 and I want to hit something hard to try to avoid the chunks that I’ve had. Oh, that’s got to go. All right, it’s putting hit it at the old man. Not my best, but hey, we got two putts for birdie. Let’s go. All right, that shot ended up a lot better than I thought it was from back there. We got a pretty good little birdie look here on the last hole. See if we can close out in style with sticks. Oh, little low. Work to be done. Work to be done. Greens just haven’t been great or we probably would have made more putts. A little bumpy out here today. Easy par with the sticks. We don’t get mad at easy pars. See if we can do a titalist. Our one last go round here with we’ll say my titleist bag, but it’s actually a Nike putter. Nike method. Got to love that. One of the few things Nike did well. Short or I had it. Another easy par. And we don’t get mad at easy pars. Hey, I played well with both sets of clubs. Let’s uh go over here and tally it up and give some final thoughts on $4,000 bag versus a $1,000 bag. All right, and that’s all she wrote. That was nine holes with a $4,000 golf club set against $1,000 golf set. And in all in all, it was pretty close. Realistically, the sticks club just ran into a buzz saw today. I had a great day. I made three birdies with my titleless clubs. Hit a few closer, but I actually hit a lot of great shots with sticks. I just didn’t score well today. And that’s golf. In the end, from the match play perspective, sticks lost three down through the nine holes. It was 38 to 34. But if you look at the other stats in terms of how I hit it, how I carried it, how far I hit the driver, they’re really, really close. A lot of that is just comfortability on my titleless clubs. I have thicker grips. I’m used to these golf clubs and obviously played really well with them. I’m new to the sticks clubs. That’s my first nine holes with them. It was a lot closer than I expected. These clubs are great. We’ll throw some data in the Tangent app and show you just how they compared side by side. I’m real.
