The Masters Champions Dinner on Tuesday was held without one notable guest at Augusta National Golf Club.

Defending champion Scottie Scheffler’s spread of burgers, chili and ribeye was enjoyed by 32 of the 35 former Masters winners who took part in the annual tradition. Sandy Lyle missed the event citing “personal reasons,” while Vijay Singh withdrew from the tournament, which starts Thursday, while he recovers from an injury.

But the biggest absence of the night was Tiger Woods, a five-time winner of golf’s first major. Woods has not appeared at a PGA Tour event this year, and after rupturing his Achilles in March, it’s unknown when he’ll return. He played a few matches in the TGL indoor golf league based in Palm Beach Gardens, close to his home.

Is Tiger Woods playing in the Masters?

As he recovers from surgery, it’s unclear when the 15-time major champion will return to play. A well-executed April Fools joke aside, Woods has let it known he will not be playing in the 2025 Masters.

“We were putting our jackets away and the guys said that Tiger still can’t put weight on his foot,” 1971 Masters winner Charles Coody told USA TODAY. “They said his weight tolerance just isn’t there to climb up those stairs.”
