The new owner of a public golf course in Dallas County — is working to transform the course into a destination spot for golfers.

Waka Vggolf0724 VoOcmulgee Golf Course was purchased about eight months ago by Dallas County businessman Darrell Steward.

A new management team is in place with the goal of transforming the course into a golfing destination.

“Definitely noticed the changes. The fairways are very playable, in great shape,” said golfer Blake Edwards of Clanton.

“The greens are amazing. Probably the last two months the greens have come a tremendous amount, a long way. They play great, they hold true. They play true, they hold tight.”

Ocmulgee is a membership-public course. That means anyone can play it — or join and become a a member.
