Burnham-On-Sea RNLI has this week formally thanked Burnham & Berrow Golf Club for raising an impressive £25,624.62 for the charity.

The donation was originally presented in January 2025, as reported here, and on Wednesday 9th July, members of the golf club were invited to the lifeboat station to watch a training launch and enjoy a small gathering in recognition of their fundraising efforts.

Among those attending were Andrew Fisher and his wife Julie Fisher, herself a fundraising volunteer for the RNLI, along with club chairman Jerry Hodge, members Fiona Hodge, Jane Harries, and David Harries.

As a token of thanks, the RNLI presented the club with a framed photograph of the lifeboat Doris Day and Brian, which will be displayed in the clubhouse.

RNLI Chairman Nick Pople praised the donation, saying: “This is a most generous amount that will help our lifeboats continue to save lives at sea. Thank you to all those who helped raise the money.”
