Scottie Scheffler continues to be mentioned in the same breath as Tiger Woods after his victory at The Open.
Scheffler has played down comparisons with Woods, who boasts a stunning 82 PGA Tour wins from his glittering career so far.
A total of 15 of those have come in major championships, with Scheffler having just secured his fourth major championship title at The Open.
Rich Lerner thinks only Rory McIlroy can rival Scheffler, who clinched a four-shot victory over Harris English for his latest success.
Xander Schauffele discussed Scheffler and Woods after watching him win at Royal Portrush, with the debate continuing despite the dust settling on his triumph.

Sharing his verdict on the discussion, Ian Poulter told Sky Sports Golf: “Look, what he’s been able to produce in the last couple of seasons is very Tiger-esque.
“Whether he continues that for the next 10 years and dominates for the next 10 years, then obviously you’d have to put that in the brackets of kind of what Tiger did. So it’s probably a little early at the minute, but he’s kind of on par.”

His fellow LIV Golf player Henrik Stenson added: “Yeah he’s had an incredible last three or four years, right?
“It’s been really, really remarkable. And yeah, nothing short of admiration for the results that he’s produced.
“Is it kind of a comparison to Tiger I don’t know. I mean, Tiger’s Tiger right? But yeah, let’s see what happens over the next couple of years and we’ll see where we end up with that.”

Woods has been busy designing courses, using his unparalleled experience to extend his legacy, but he will of course be remembered most fondly for his efforts with the club in hand.
