These are the best tips for beginners. We’re going to start off with putting. Thanks for the intro, Drew. Now, I’m going to teach you about putting. There are two types of putts. The push putt. Hey, that’s what I do. That’s why your dog shouldn’t still play an MA4. I’m not even going to teach you. I’m going to teach you the spin putt, which is what all the pros do. You want to line up at your target and throw it as hard as you possibly can so it doesn’t have time to deviate from the line. Relax the shoulders. Focus on the target. Okay, next we’re going to talk about disc selection on this hole. About 200 feet, water behind. So, I want something that slows down. Don’t want something fast. Perfect for the berg. I’ll show you how it’s done. See? Perfect. Slows down. Parked underneath the basket. Exactly what you want to think about on disc selection. Okay, next hole. 350 foot spikeheiser around the tree. You want something overstable that can go far. So perfect for destroyer boss or any other distance driver, but you don’t want it to go too far left. Which is why the Berg is the disc you want to throw. Now this hole is a monster 500T par 375 ft OB carry. Need something that flexes out and will come back in for max distance. Perfect for the bird. Oh yeah, that’s a be. Now, the key to up shots is super easy. Step one, grab a disc. Step two, throw it in the basket just like this. See, it’s that easy. Whoa. Now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We’re talking about making putts, disc selection, upsh shots, but we need to make sure we’re throwing the Frisbee correctly. So, what you want to do is grab the disc, hold it however you want. Uh the grip is not important. And uh take a look at the target. Also not that important. Uh but you really need to focus on your footwork. So, you want to sprint toward the target and at the last second turn into this shuffle thing. If you watch the NFL, those guys are real athletes. They’ll be like this, down, it’s a hit, and they’ll start shuffling all over, you know, and we want to mimic that in disc golf because those guys are real athletes and this is a real sport. Now, with your upper body, when you’re doing your sprint toward the basket, right before the shuffle, you want to reach your arm back as hard as you can, but keep your shoulders in the direction you’re running. This will maximize the amount of like spin and torque that the disc has, and it’s really good. Let me show an example here. Obviously, that was a great throw. Now, if you want the max distance, I’m going to send you over to Drew. His T-shot tutorial has an excellent secret for max distance. Okay. Now, I’m going to teach you about T-OT. And the thing to know about T-OT is distance is key. So, you want to grab the biggest distance disc you have in your bag. And every single time you got to do a 360, even in the woods, especially in the woods. Okay. See, distance is key on T- shots. So, Tom So, Tom’s So, Tom, Holy Sometimes is a tough part. He’s not even the one with the lips. It’s my mouth is dry. So, sometimes you land a horrible spot like this and you have to scramble. There’s two options. You can pitch out middle of the fairway, take an easy bogey, but we’re not here to do that. The goal is to move forward towards the basket and get at worst apart. This is how you do it. Gosh dang it. I hate this. Wo wo wo. I hate this. Now, let me give you a tip about the mental game. All right. If you get pissed, use your left hand to punch a tree. Cuz guess what? You’re going to get your anger out and this tree won’t be here next time you play. I can throw with my right hand. Exactly. Now, what if you have a job where you need to type with both hands or something? Easy. Grab a stick. Step back here, use it like a baseball bat, and kill the tree. All right. It’s going to help your mental game. It’s going to help the course maintenance. It’s just all around a great thing. Oh, thanks for the tips.
