This week we look back at The Open Championship at Royal Portrush.  A week where the best player in the world proved again why he is the best player in the world.  But what does it all mean…?

The rhythm of the swing never changes. Is it long enough? They’re beginning to applaud and quite rightly show. That is a simply magnificent shot from Colin Montgomery. [Applause] Glory is the winner. [Music] Not a million miles away, is it? [Applause] Hello and welcome to another episode of Top Golf Scotland with me, Stuart Everd. And today I’m joined by Peter Whiteford. Good morning. And Donald Mai. Good morning. Andy is off uh again. You know, he seems to think he’s here regularly. Uh yeah. So anyway, we are brought to you by Bradalin Finance, Scotland’s number one finance broker for companies in Scotland. To find out how Baddin can help your business, go to bedfinance.co.uk and they’ll get you some cashish. Maybe. Yes, if you fill in the forms properly. Cashish or hashish? Might be both. Depends. Um, also, uh, Link Waterproof, Golf’s newest waterproof company. Top quality waterproofs, golf waterproof suits, Gilelays, and bugs. All are reasonable prices to stay dry this autumn when winter. Go to hlink.golf.com. linkgolf.com. Have you played in the rain yet, guys? Uh, I try not to, but I think I did play once. In fact, it was when we we done our uh nine holes at Kangara. Kangara. I had my I had the waterproofs on. I don’t think it rained, did it? I had the waterproofs on cuz it was a bit cooler that day. And And I quite enjoyed playing on them. They were absolutely fine. Yep. Yep. Good. Okay. Um, tell me, we’ve had seven days since our last podcast. Peter, have you been doing anything golfy? Golfy. We Yeah. Well, um, we um Yeah, we played me and Donald went up to a prom, a sociable proam as Donald would call it. Um, so up went across went across. Oh yeah. Across across the country uh to Straven. So Ken Lawson was running a proam to raise money for the kids at his club basically. Um, but she did a great day. It was a phenomenal day. He had he did he did really well, Callum. Um, so it was quite it was quite a lot of people, a lot of drinking people. Um, and so we played the prom and then we had a few beers and went away. But um, no, I I I did quite well. I managed to win the prom. So that was good. What What did you score, Peter? You’ve got to throw in your score. I had an eight under. So I think it’s a I think it’s a new course record if it counts. If it counts. Why Why wouldn’t it count? Well, cuz you were drinking lagger. That counts, doesn’t have you been cheating again. What have you been doing for you? No, the reason I said to Cal K’s like, “It’s new course reg.” I was like, “Yeah, but but well, one of the games was a yellow ball game.” So, there was two holes where I had to use this yellow ball, which is a different compression. So, it depends how technical he wants to get at this. So, we’ll see what he says about that, but not nothing more to be said. But, um, yeah. So we will um still very I mean you’re going to you’re trying to you know Yeah been very modest. 800 is very good 800 is very good anytime any place anywhere but exactly. So that was that was very very well done Peter. No it was good. Look played nicely. It was nice and nice and it was actually quite simple. It’s funny how when we go and try and break course records as a team we fail and then you play on yourself a couple of yellow balls and you do it. A yellow ball is the key, isn’t it? Yellow ball is the key. I hated using that yellow ball in those two holes. But yeah, the the course was was was very very good. The weather was phenomenal as well to be fair. Correct. So we we got we got a great day for it. Um and it and it was it was lots of fun. It was very good. So there was usual sort of clan there as in your Stuart Ricky’s your Brian Mason. He finished second. Brian shot a couple. He was good. Um Donald, you Donald did. Yeah. No, I I was awful. I was awful. I I see I say I was awful. I was thinking about this. Maybe I wasn’t awful. Maybe that’s just my standard now. I think I was three three. No, I was three where I lost the ball. None of us I had a very sociable team. There was a a couple of beers and a bottle of vodka in our table for breakfast. Uh I don’t know how some the people keep getting me teams like that. I have no idea why. Yeah. You know, uh so we had a very social team and it was and had a really good day. As Pete says, the golf course was was lovely. The greens were the greens were great. And I I hit, you know, I hit lots of greens, but I just see if the pins were like on the edge of all the greens. I would be a great player, but you know, my stats, I hit 17 greens and proximity to the flag, I’d be the worst in the field. Yeah. You know, cuz I just hit it 50 ft away all the time. So, it’s not even my putting that’s bad. It’s just cuz of my proximity to the home. There you go. It’s not very good. But I I thoroughly enjoyed it. The company was great. I had a good laugh. The the speakers were good. Callum raised raised a few quid. And I got a couple of we gems of stories that I can’t really say see on the pod, but I’ll tell you after. Who were the speakers? Uh it was two old boys that Jim Leeman and George McNeel who I think I heard about 34 years ago for the first time or something like that as a double act then at a a bowling club in Kettle or some Kings Kettle. Uh but they were very good. Jim Leeman was was good and then George McNeil was hilarious, wasn’t he? He was absolutely fantastic. Yeah, he’s very good. Yeah. So it was good. It set set a a good tone for the rest of the afternoon. I can’t really remember. I still love a a really good uh afterdinner speaker. Our club’s actually looking at our prize giving and you know there’s been a dwindling uh attendance or prize giving you asking maybe how we should do it differently. She would have like a I don’t know disco karaoke or she just like disco. How old are you? Have a barbecue in the garden. Disco they’re making a return. The day discos for the for the girls are making the return. The 80s discos or the silent disil silent disco with all the guys just for the guys. taking you back to your your club days before Pete Stewart just silent disco that’d be great but no that wouldn’t be great I would hate that I wouldn’t go uh but yeah I just and and so the nobody’s turn but yeah I think the speakers and you know be polit politically correct all the time now you know there’s maybe some women in the room you know you can’t be having the jokes that you used to have at some of these sportsman dinner and I find it a shame because I I love them yeah when you get a good speaker that’s that does make makes or breaks the day, doesn’t it? Yeah, it does. And but there seems to be a dying I mean, who who’s new on the circuit of the after dinners? Have you heard anybody new recently? No. No, it’s all the same old crowd. You should maybe start again, should you? That was a short career. You know, he said there’s nothing better than a really good afternoon speaker. There’s also nothing worse than a really bad one. How to ruin the evening. No. No. But uh Yeah. So, it’s a it’s a shame it’s dying off. But yeah, Dora, did you do anything other than um drink and play golf? Oh, no. I’ve been working quite a bit as well. Uh I’ve got a friend over from Bahin uh who So, I had to follow up Friday’s day with a a day and Saturday as well. So, uh but second day drinking is always much easier, isn’t it? So, they say I was in the house with with with the demons. So, I didn’t I didn’t certainly didn’t see that. Peter Peter won the pro but was dying. I was feeling absolutely fine. So, I won. I actually think I had the win for the day. If it was a two-day program, Don, you were in the Oh, I’d have been fine the second day. I I actually played golf yesterday as well at Ladybank with uh Liam Duncan. So, him and his friend over from America, Mr. Fritz, um who are playing in the the kind of Scottish circle at the moment, the Paul Lori type tours and those sort of things. Um and yeah, and all of a sudden, you’re playing with guys that just smash it way past you again. It’s just like the young guys just hit it so far, don’t they? I mean it’s I don’t know what the the American lads must have a swing speed of he’s actually coming for a lesson strangely but he’s um he’s they’re well they’re in the 20s you know 120 odds both both just both left-handers as well really weird playing with two left-handers what you don’t have to stand yeah I was just like oh yeah I felt really awkward you’re the odd one out I felt like the weirdo yeah so yeah no they were good they were impressive um little surprising not doing better in the tournaments I played to be honest with what they showed me yesterday they were very very But um yeah, I needed a partner and I didn’t have somebody to partner me. So I I got destroyed. So I went from zero to zero very quickly. And that’s what golf does to you. So you’re back down to the drawing board. What about you, Stuart? I just been a taxi driver really. I’ve been driving my kids about to junior opens. But I’ve also been looking at clothing and shoes for next year. That’s boring chat for for uh you know the golf shop. And that’s really been my thing. I posted up at Scott Craig on Sunday. There was that we did the one our junior ro junior competitions the super Sundays. My kids don’t like the fact that I’ve called it super Sundays because I think it sounds a bit babyish. I said did you never you know the football used to be called super Sundays you know but they think it’s babyish. Oh daddy we’re playing the super Sundays you know but in Scottish Craig you know they desperately want me to change the name. But is it not like the like the super sixes as well in gambling or something? I don’t know super bull. You got Yeah. Everything’s super. Super super’s kind of an oldfashioned word. Have you ever used that word? You know, but you can have the disco after super short. So, I’m going to have to change it, but I’ll maybe change it next year. But yeah, the weather up at Scott Craig. Scott Craig. I was first time being there for a while. Have you been there recently? I haven’t played it for a couple years. You know, an old uh open qualifying course and I thought it was looking Well, it was a nice It was a beautiful night on Sunday after all the rain all Saturday and Sunday morning. Has has it been has it been bought yet? I think Barney or Kings Barnes were looking to buy it. I think I don’t really understand what’s going on there, but nothing seems to have happened yet. Still Scottish Craig Golf Club. But no, a nice place to visit. So, yeah, that’s really my chat. Well, there was also the Scottish Boys on this week. Well, there was Scottish Boys and the Scottish Girls, Peter. And the Scottish girls. Yeah, Scottish Boys was at um up at Blair Gallery. Yes. And yeah, they do it differently than in my day when 128 guys just turned up and it was straight into match play. But um 256 guys it was Pete P twice. That’s right. And I think it’s still I think it’s maybe still 256. Oh, it’s maybe 128 now. Maybe but qualifying. They’re playing uh 36 qualified and then the top 64 go through and then they play the match play and it was won by a fifer called Finley Galloway who will we all know well. Yeah. Finley comes comes to the range quite often to practice come through come through the Tigers. Mhm. And uh is now taught by Callum Lawson who used to work work here but so so Finley is a lovely lad. Really nice lad and great to see him doing well. Yeah he does. I mean, I’ve only I’ve only seen him hit some some shots recently, but he’s swinging well. He look He looks like a strong player, doesn’t he? Looks like a strong player. Yeah. And he’s got his he’s a kind of guy that he’s got the the he seems to be fairly, you know, settled, which is, you know, sometimes in a 17-year-old. Yeah. He seems to more of a Scottish Sheffford demeanor as opposed to a Jordan Daily demeanor. Yes. Yeah. Yes. Um, so I expect big things from Fraser. He’s off to America to college next Finley as well. Finley, sorry. Finley, uh, Ladybank member, St. Andrews member, Feifer. The other, the Scottish girls is one by Carly McDonald, who is, uh, little superstar from St. Andrews. I think she’s still very young. I think she’s like 14 or something. Really, 15 maybe playing for Great Brand Ladies and everything. She plays off like plus four. And she’s like, h, yeah, girls are funny. Girls get good really early, don’t they? Some matur. Yeah, but she beat Stella Walters who and it was really strange. I watched a video of them putting out in the last. So Carly puted up though. She won one up. Carly puted up to like a foot. Stella Walter gave her the putt. The man goes Carly McDonald wins the Scottish girls one up and then Stella Walters put her ball down, lined up her putt and put it in. And it was it was really weird. Do you know the rules? Why was she putting them at all? But she Yeah, it was very strange. Oh, that’s embarrassing. But yeah, it was a bit strange. But she’s very young. I mean, she’s like I don’t know how Stell put a card in it look like it. I think she’s 12. She’s the movie got confused and exactly so young. But yeah, but yeah, Carly McDonald’s is a Fifer. So Fifers are top of the tree at the moment. Dominant in Scottish golf. Yeah, Peter’s winning straven, you know, we’re champion of the juniors, you know, it’s great. Just something just don’t you probably win like the Scottish seniors or something soon saying [Laughter] not yet. Maybe the super seniors. What is that? Is that even a thing? 60s. 60s and above. Not Not in Scottish seniors golf. It’s not. I don’t think. All right. Professional golf anyway. Not in professional. No. Okay. Right. as well. Um, this week was obviously the Open Championship. The British Open as the Americans call it. Yep. I do as well to be honest. You call it the British Open. Yeah. That’s not like I know it’s it’s I’m I’m I’m a bad man. Uh, best Open Championship. Um, can we start with Scottish Heler pre pre-ournament interview, which I don’t think I need to read through it because I think everybody’s kind of heard them, haven’t you? Yeah. uh cuz it’s been all over the news all all the lead up to the event and everything has kind of talk. What what did what did you think of it then? What was your your take on it? Um I feel like I feel like like everything in the media is a little bit, you know, the the the arms and legs are growing out of this one. Do do you know what I mean? But it felt a little when I first heard it, I thought, God, that sounds a bit depressing. you know, he found it sounds a little bit on the edge. Is there something, you know, not quite right in the head of Scottish Sheffller? And then, but then I probably felt like, do you know what? When I look forward to buying a car, I’m really excited. Oh, I want to win that. I want to get that car. That’s my dream car. Get the And then you get the car and it’s kind of like, right, exactly. He’s he’s 100% in my mind, he’s 100% right in what he said. Just nobody ever says it. Um, you know, like when you win something, that’s it. It is the joy for for a very short period of time. It’s the chase. The chase is is is same when we’re young and we’re chasing after birds. The chase is more the chase is more exciting, isn’t it? The chase the the the grind, the the the the trying to get there is the the journey. We always say that to to people that are thinking about turn pro. If you’re not enjoying the journey, don’t don’t do it. The journey is the main part. Um the winning if it comes is is great, but yeah. And it is it should it is shortlived and it should be shortlived because you want to get on to the next event. You want to you want to progress. You want to keep getting better. Um if you if you resting your laurels and that’s it. Everyone talks about this all the time. You hear pros but but this is the first time everyone’s going into depth in it. You hear pros talking about when they won something then uh a big tournament like the first major whatever they felt like quite a lull after it because like oh what now? Mhm. You know it’s just he just described it I think he’s described it really well. Christmas Eve is probably exciting. Boxing day is a little bit depressing. Yeah, it’s kind of like that, isn’t it? Yeah. Yeah. But I also think he he’s kind of deflected a we bit when he’s on on the course and it it looks like that. It doesn’t mean as much to him. So, he’s not putting as much pressure on himself. He’s taking the pressure off himself completely. Like these guys are trying so hard and I know he is, but he doesn’t look as and nothing’s affecting him because it’s not the be all and end all for him. Now the guys must be thinking he doesn’t care that much. Oh, he cares. I don’t I don’t I don’t I don’t agree with that. I don’t agree that he doesn’t. It’s not the be all and end all. It is but but he’s he’s just said the winning isn’t isn’t this it he’s got as much drive and as much like nerves and as much everything as he deflected from that I think in his statement. His statement was deflection. But he was saying things like, “I don’t Sometimes I I struggle with understanding why I want to win this tournament so much.” He did say that. So, he does want to win them a lot. Of course, he does. He just doesn’t really understand where it fits in in a life. He’s got all the money. It’s just winning another golf tournament. And if he doesn’t win, it doesn’t matter. What I find strange is when he says it does. It just doesn’t define him. It does matter. It It would It would kill him if he didn’t win that. Not kill it. It it would it would I always say it was um um he would he would go over the the disappointment so much quicker than a lot of others. No, I disagree. Well, I don’t know. According to him, he will. According to him, he will. I I would always say like um a loss or a defeat stayed with me. You know, if I was determined, I should have won and and I didn’t win it. That stayed with me way way longer than any win. Do you know it’s like the That’s exactly the point I’m saying. Whereas it’s it’s not with him. Yeah. Well, yeah, the fear of failure is there for me. That’s why that’s what that’s what pushed me on to hitting and I think that’s what he’s saying. So, so what doesn’t matter, wouldn’t it? I’ll try the next one. I’m not sure that’s what he was saying. I think he was more talking about the wins rather than the loss. Well, see the different interpretations of it. See, he’s just open up a can of worms here. Well, he’s going to get he’s going to get asked about this every event for the next 10, you know, how do you feel? How did that one feel? Do you feel good about that one? You have to give an interview pretty quick cuz he the interview questions were dreadful, weren’t they? Yeah. He He also keeps saying things like, “I’d rather be a good father, a great father than a great golfer.” We all kind of feel like that, don’t Yeah. Yeah. Of course, family is more important than your work. But like, it’s also still, you know, if he could stay if he stayed at home and looked after his kids all the time, it’ be depressing. The kids, you know, you can be both, can’t you? You can be a good golfer and a good father. Of course you can. You can go to work and be a good dad. You don’t need to just be at home all the time. You I find the whole Scottish effler. I mean, do you like him as an individual? Yeah. But is he a bit a bit a bit bland? Bit dull. Yeah. Bit dull bit nice. Dull. Yeah. Not dim but nice. Dull, but nice. Like he’s but like what I’m trying to say is I forgot what I was trying to say cuz you’re interrupting me now. But cuz we answered your question. I find him just a little bit too wholesome sometimes. It’s like it’s like Yeah. Yeah. I don’t Yeah. Like golf’s good, but it’s really not that important to me because family is so great and his kids running on the green and it’s great. I love seeing kids. That’s his beliefs and he’s saying these things and he maybe thinks he should be saying these things because of his beliefs but what’s wrong with that? No, no, there’s nothing wrong. That’s that’s him and you know I don’t know I don’t know what I’m trying to say. So do you like him? He’s he’s tiger esque in his interviews isn’t he? He just doesn’t give us the tiger fist pumps in the golf course. So he doesn’t get you know when do you like Scotty? I don’t dislike Scotty. I think I think he’s he’s he’s now in my mind he’s doing tiger things in the golf course which we’ll get into later but but but he is tiger-esque in interviews doesn’t give away much and that thing he said this week was like the first time he’s really said something we can chat about that he normally doesn’t give away much but tiger give you more in the golf course in terms of like I don’t know jumping around you know like just just going mental and and Scotty doesn’t give you that which makes you not it makes you it makes it not as exciting but it’s golf backs it up I mean yeah we’ll get into that but Yeah, I I like I like him, but I find him hard to really get excited about. Even though you should be really I’m very impressed with what he does. Yeah, cuz he’s so good. He’s boringly exciting. Yes. Boringly unexciting. Sorry. Yeah. I mean, Radar just tells you where he’s going to hit it. And he’s right. 20 ft short, 20 ft right. I probably I love watching him play golf, you know. I just I do. I don’t find it boring. a swing makes up for the maybe the ball going straight. If he had a swing like Nick Faldo and it was just ploning down the middle and it had a straight ball flight all the time, that would be boring. But I find I find the way he plays golf, watching the top tracer, he’s moving it all the time. He’s falling off balance, you know? I find it I find I love watching it. I really do. And I love him being on the leaderboard. I just think I don’t know that there’s some I thought I mean see we’re talking about chef talking about his golf. I mean, at the end of the day, he he he maybe doesn’t get as much credit for how good a driver of the golf ball is. You know, my drove it poorly this week. Yeah. But it’s never re Yeah, but it’s never really dangerously bad, is it? It’s like just run out of fairy or it’s a little bit not quite cut enough. Yeah. He It’s never wild. He’s never doesn’t seem like to me anyway. And his irons, we know we know how good they are. Um and he draws and fades them to He’s draws and phases them for for distance control rather than flag positions if you ask me. But he he he does it in such a way he’s never really that far out of position and then he doesn’t get enough credit for how good a putter is or he does now getting shots gained. He was number one wasn’t he in one of the days but um there there’s there is no weakness really mentally he’s obviously the one of the strongest. We should maybe come on to his golf later, but I was really just wanted to speak about his um actual you chat, but I think we’ve we’ve said it. Um can we talk about uh the course first of all? You know, I asked the question last week. It feels to me that Port Rush is now the I I’m going to look forward to Port Rush Open more than any other open. Maybe St. Andrews if you took that out because I you know there’s something special about Sanders, but there’s no other open venue I’m looking forward to more than Port Rush now. And it’s, you know, even though Carnesi is just up the road or tunes across the country, it it looked fantastic on TV. It looked great. The the only thing I was disappointed in was and blame it in the weather or whatever. I thought I thought it was it’s too green. I would like to seen it faster, wee bit faster, and shown up the the the runoff areas and stuff a we bit more. Right. But they say the weather is wet, but I’m sure irrigation’s got a we bit to do as well. But but it was just a we bit too green for me. But but but it did look fantastic for TV. I probably agree with you in that. I think it’s a phenomenal golf course and even though it’s a Lynx course, you do get elevation changes for quite a few shots, which is which is a rarity link. The TV doesn’t show that up as much as there actually is, doesn’t it? Yeah. I mean, there’s a few sort of maybe not elevated T-shots as much, but there’s a couple of holes you’re playing right down to it. And that does make a difference, especially if it gets windy, that elevated t-shot, proper wind in the links, that makes it hard. But I thought you saw a bit of that when the drones were flying across the beach and you saw the beach and the courses. I thought I just thought they amazing. If if you were to say which which open venue you want to go and play, I’d go I want to go play there. Yeah, I agree. It did look look amazing, but I would have liked to see I’ve never played from Aberdine, but it feels like it looks like on the course that this the fairways are all like their own. And I mean Peter, you played it. It feels like you’re not going to see other holes when you’re playing a hole cuz the dunes and it just looked amazing, I thought. Yeah, phenomenal. It is a is a great golf course. See, sorry, just on that the fourth hole. Everyone seemed to blast past the fourth hole all the time and that was the one that gave me the heebiejibbies when I played it. Is that the out of bounds up the right? Out of bounds up the right and you’re aiming towards it. Horrible. Horrible. And I was like I was just always delighted to get through that hole and everyone’s just like just thumping drivers way down there. There bunkers annoyingly so you have to hit driver. Now, this is you said it last week. It is one of those courses where okay, if I’m not going to hit driver because I can catch that bunker, I’m going to have to hit a two iron or whatever three-wood. But there’s bunkers around about that two iron and three as well. It’s not it’s not like you just go a he’ll dump it there and we’ll be fine. We’ll just hit a slight There’s there’s trouble at every sort of not massive amount of trouble. I think it’s the least amount of bunkers in in open rotor. There could be more, but there’s enough to keep you interested. And they’re all in the right places. And they’re all Yeah. And that’s all you need, isn’t it? You don’t need hundreds of bunkers. did them in the right place. Yeah. Yeah. See, like on the open ro um I think Leam’s maybe kind of lost its place, has it? I’ve heard it’s not got enough room or whatever. So, we’ve got St. Andrews, Trune, Mirfield hasn’t been doing it for a we while. Um they’re maybe still getting the tailing off. Yeah. Uh uh Carnisti, Burksdale, St. George’s, Liverpool. Do you ever see like in 50 years time who’s which which is going to be the new one? Do you think we’re going to have another one? Is there another one in Ireland that might hold the open? Don’t know. Will Trump Aberdine when you know could that hold an open? I don’t know how big it is up there. I don’t get the crowds in difficult to get the crowds on these dunes and stuff like that. Yeah. I mean, there’s an event there in a few weeks, I think, isn’t there? Yeah, it be interesting. So, it be interesting to where they can put the stands and and and work people around the golf course cuz the dunes are massive. Yeah. Anyway, yeah, I just couldn’t think of any that you would add, but there’s bound to be one added at some stage. Turnbury will come back on at some stage. Mhm. Yeah, hopefully. Cuz I love it. Turn is fantastic, huh? Okay, first round. The weather well the weather was a bit benign, wasn’t it? Oh, maybe squalls. Squalls came through. First round there was a bit of weather, but um it’s always disapp when Sheffller’s winning you feel like nothing’s bad’s going to happen though when there’s no wind. Nothing’s going to happen. Can we go the first round first though? Yeah, go the first round first. Okay, we’ll do that. Don’t do it last. So, what was it to say about the first round? I mean, Sheffller shot three under and I just thought here we go. Game over. It’s kind of game over. Uh when as soon as you see him in the lead over it’s like is he going to fall away? I thought somebody might have shot a lower first round score 100%. Yeah. What was it four under leading or something? Yeah. 400 the course was there for the taken. Seven under leads at every event everywhere in the world after first round or or lower. Yes. Yeah. Finally they sorted open up the shoulders and they managed to like Bryson had a great second day and and all the rest. There was a few low scores came in. I mean look maybe the weather was worse than than what I saw. Um, and you get good draw, bad draw at the open, but yeah, the the course was there for the taken this week. Like was Don said, it was it was softer than it’s emerald like you said as well. It’s going to be greener, right? But it it was there. It was there for the take. I’m surpris I was very surprised at 400 leading. Maroy one under. What do you think of Maroyy’s just general performance this week by the way? I thought it was good. It’s where he is. It’s it’s where he stands as far as I’m concerned. He’s he’s he’s probably the best of the rest, but he’s um he’s not in Scottish League. But he he wasn’t playing that well, was he? I don’t think in in his mind he’s W to me, he’s wild off the tea. I don’t care what everyone says. I see everyone say he’s the best driver of the golf ball in the I don’t see I I don’t see Scotty hitting well in T- shots. I see Rory hitting a well T- shot. I used of late, but he has been. Yeah, he gets his weeks. He gets his weeks where courses suit his eye, but but he hits in the crowd and gets he got away with quite a lot this week. I mean, look, if that’s it’s a lost ball there. And by the way, that happens in every tournament, but there was quite a few times. I’m like, well, you definitely wouldn’t have found that ball um if it wasn’t for the for the four million people watching you. But um I I thought his game looked looked just seems to hit the odd. I mean, it come I don’t really see the driving as much or see just wedges again. You know, there seems to be just the odd time. You think, right, this is there was one hole in the last round, for instance. He drove it up like miles miles up. Yes. And then you think short of the green. 40 short the green. Here he is. It has it’s 20 ft and I know it’s the there’s swailes and stuff we’re not seeing. It’s tougher shot than you think. But it’s that kind of thing. It just never seems There’s times where he just not I don’t know. His distance control is certainly not as good as Scotties, is it? It’s a huge difference, isn’t it? Yeah. And that’s where they they they do separate each other or Scotty separates himself from him. Oh, easily. Easily. Yeah. Like I said, off accuracy, Roy’s got them in length, but but that one. Yeah. 100%. He’s got everybody in length though, but he’s not far. Scott Scott is no short. I’m saying all this is the best of the rest. If he’s miles away from Scott, it wouldn’t take much and he just needs tightening up of I don’t know which department, right? Cuz his putting is phenomenal now. I mean, everyone goes up with roy I mean fax and it doesn’t matter who’s done it. Um he’s now best putter in the field practically or up there every single week. Um he’s he’s a better statistically speaking he’s a better putter than he is a driver of the golf ball. I think what Andy says as well often is right and that he seems to have a double bogey in him. You know, I often use, oh, he’s coming up and then, oh, he’s way back down again. Yeah. And and I feel like that’s not just one shot gone, two shots gone, but one shot cuz bogey bogey seems to be okay. But gets you in the guts, doesn’t it? No. Double doubles double’s bad. And there’s the thing. Scotty Scotty makes the the fewest boogies. Yeah. On tour. And he’s got the highest percentage of birdie in the next hole. He does make a boogie. I always think that’s an amazing stat. Just the general bounce back start. It’s just ridiculous. I mean there he made his double then birded the next and possibly should have birded one after it as well. Yeah. Yeah. But so so as soon as Scottish got that lead in the second 64 in the second round, it’s it’s amazing, isn’t it? You you you’re just thinking it’s over. Yep. How can anybody catch Scottish Sheffler when he’s on? It’s like you sent me a text, you know, he’s just not going to shoot any higher than 67, is he? No, not really. How on leave was probably the one that you thought, right, well, yeah, but he’s just not ready. How on leave for that level yet? Maybe he is. He’s he’s that kind of he’s he’s charismatic kid. He’s very very good. He’s won all over the world. He’s gone through slump. He’s back again. His confidence is like not really ready to take on the the major yet as far as I concerned. He did he did great, but he was the guy really. I didn’t I didn’t see anyone else there. They were coming from You can’t give him that much of a lead. You you can only look at it was like a three horse lace. There was nothing. There was no There was nobody there. So, yeah, you’re right. It was all over. If Rory had been leading by that going into the last round, you’ thought can he do it? Can I say I was I was already thinking this after the second round when he’s only when he’s just got the lead. It’s like Tiger in the lead after two rounds. It’s all all over, you know. No, nobody else in history since probably Jack Nicholas other than Tiger has had that feeling about them. I’ve never He’s not coming back, is he? He’s not coming back. And who’s, you know, Rory’s what, three under? He’s seven behind. You think that’s a lot to catch up when you think Sheffler’s going to shoot 268 the worst. You know, you think you’re adding it up. Mro is he’s he’s kind of on the leaderboard, but he’s seven behind, so he has to shoot like 263s or something. And he’s good. He’s good Sheffler at getting away to a nice what you class as a nice quick start as well. The first sort of four or five holes he’s always like that one under that he’s but he well he seems to be seems to be he didn’t I mean just P but you know it’s coming he’s so patient. Yeah. Ah he can have a slow start to the round but you know he’s just going to get three birdies in the back n Oh go within two. Oh he’s made three birdies. He he he doesn’t he doesn’t panic. It is boring, isn’t it? I mean, it’s impressively boring, though. It’s hugely Yeah. He just hits the right shots. He he he picks the right targets and and it’s so easy to say that when you’ve got the best distance control, best distance control. I think that’s the impressive thing about it. Picking smart targets is easy. If he’s in the lead, he doesn’t do anything outrageously bad. So, oh, it’s a tough hole, but it just plays it safe and then he picks off the birdies that he that he should pick off and a couple. I just think I just think listening to radar is hilarious when when he’s walking around them, you know, like I can’t remember what Ryan was with the par five left when he was playing with Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick sort of hits his three-wood up just left to green. He’s got a tricky little chip and and radar. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You’ll not you’ll not miss it there. Gra the right. If it doesn’t if it’s not perfect, it’ll be a way we better it. It was right edge of the green rolled into 40 feet and two putts for or actually I think maybe three part but it doesn’t matter. Um it’s he just hits the shots. He doesn’t he knows where to hit it and he hits it there. Yeah, he says 20 ft short right and that’s where it goes. 20 ft short right. He he hits the right slopes. He uses the slopes and the greens. Um this come this isn’t this is what everyone’s trying to do by the way. This is the fact he’s got his distance control. His club face control is and they always say once you get to that level, it’s basically a club face control competition and he’s the best at it. He’s the best at I heard Bryson been interviewed saying I played with him a lot in I played with him a lot in college. He wasn’t even that good. Yeah, he’s figured a lot of stuff out. He says it was funny that he was 29. Gives him all hope, doesn’t it? Well, it’s happened. I mean, he’s 29. He’s won four majors in what since two was 21 his first major. Yep. He was only 25. It’s like god it’s happened. Normally somebody that’s this good comes out the blocks this like like Maroy. Uh but he’s taken time to get good. He is the guy that’s learned his trade. It really has. We we talk about it not happening these days with the young kids coming out of college. He did. He went through the first couple of years in tour sort of being a bit of an angry man this that and he learned how to control that. Then he learned how to control the club face and it but the thing with that is is it gives other guys hope that they can move up and it’s not a case of you had to be this childhood prodigy that was on TV at the age of two years old like your Maro and um you can slowly progress and you can make yourself into world class if if you’ve if you if you attack the right departments of the game. Yeah, he did win the US Junior Championship. Okay. He was good, right? He was very good but he wasn’t Yeah, he was he wasn’t like a five handicapper. He wasn’t Maroy. No, no, but it was one of the best in college still, wasn’t it? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But you get you get people like one of the best. Like everyone talks about Windham Clark being a a college superstar, but you get one of the best, but not like a this boy. You’ve got to be one of the best to make it on tour. He’s one of But he was just one of the best and then he’s he didn’t just arrive on tour and win is what we’re saying. He wasn’t the best. He wasn’t the best. Uh but yes, see there’s a lot of chat already and we’re probably starting to see it as the comparisons between Tiger and Scotty. I’ve even started to hear Jack brought into the conversation. You know, he’s got four majors. He’s 28 years old. Or is he 29? 29. 29. He’s got maybe 12 years left of Top Golf, assuming he stays fit and healthy. Uh, do I mean is it fair? I mean, is is 15 a potential ability? Well, looking at it now, if he’s if he can knock off two a year. Yeah. Still, it’s it’s still a it’s still tough, isn’t it? Well, you read things, you know, of course it’s much harder to win now than it was and all this. That’s rubbish. It’s always been hard to win. I don’t think I agree with that anymore. I just think when somebody separates himself, everybody needs to catch up again. I I don’t even I think it’s ridiculous talking about it in terms of Jack records. Um there’s only three more than Tiger. I I I do I mean even listen to Xander Schoffley’s interview at the end there. He kind of hinted at the fact he said you know people are scared to sort of put him in or talk about Scotty in terms of um Tiger, but he’s there. He is doing he is doing Tiger things and he’s done it now for what three years? I don’t know. Um, and yes, I’ve always said you got to do it over longevity. Three years is getting pretty long. I mean, it’s not Tiger long or Jack long, but he’s there and he’s doing it. It’s not It’s not a hot spell. Rory Maroy won four majors really quickly early on. Uh, Brooks Kepka won five in a short period of time. Yeah. Jordan Spe one, two, three. Um, you know, so there have been other players that have had, you know, quick bits. What makes you think Scotty’s different? Well, to me, he’s winning them different. He’s winning them easily. So, so I would say Kker was actually good at winning them. He was the guy that just hung around, hung around, hung around and picked them off. Jordan Smith had to hold 73 80 footers and and just like, oh my god, I can’t believe he’s hold that to win them. Tiger board. Tiger got to the lead and everyone wet the bed and he’s doing this. He’s doing the Tiger things. He’s he’s just getting there. He’s never coming back and everyone’s having to push and they tuck the flags and they can’t push and and they fall away and it’s just like it’s the tiger era. It is a tiger thing he’s doing. He’s hitting the right shots and it’s but when you’re not chasing you’re almost it’s almost more impressive than Tiger. I don’t know about that but but he’s he’s he’s leaving himself more buddy chances than the people that are chasing because they’re they’re falling off these delves. It’s it’s the same it’s the same scenario what happened when Tiger was up. They all chased and they couldn’t chase with these flags on Sundays and it’s happening again. It’s happening again. When when it’s like we’re saying it’s boring to watching that when Tiger was winning, you know, these three events by nine shots and stuff like did we say it was born then as well? Uh the only thing that I remember being at the Open at St. Andrews when he won by eight 2000 Mhm. And there was just an electricity about the place. Tiger brought something different, exciting. He was never losing that golf tournament. But everybody wanted to see him here, you know, and watch him play golf. But but he came out of since Nicholas, there was nobody between Nicholas and Tiger that was do dominating like he did. And he did it differently. It was like when who was it? Bobby Jones said about Nicholas, you know, he plays a game of which I’m not familiar. It was kind of the same. Tag came out playing a completely different golf game. She’s not really playing a different golf game. He is in the fact he sent it straight. Yeah, I agree. But so it’s not maybe as exciting and he’s maybe not. Yeah, he’s not doesn’t have to hit as the spectacular shots, but he’s as he’s I know. He’s he’s not playing a different golf game. Bubba Watson played a different golf game in the modern generation. Um Rory’s distance at a start at a point was he doesn’t do anything different. But adding it all together is he just does it all. It’s like what is the most iconic shot that Sheffller’s hit? You can’t really come up with anything, can you? No. No, but you can come up with half a dozen Tiger ones. You can come up a few Rory ones, but Scotties is just It was just everything was just quite good. Yeah, it’s funny listening to the commentators as well. If you stand the range next to him, it’s not like um it’s that that super uber impressive. He’s just he’s all right. He gets in the golf course, that’s where it’s impressive. That’s where it needs to be impressive. Exactly. Exactly. Don’t want to be the best golfer in the range. Nope. No point in winning tournaments there, but I could see him getting to I mean right now, right? Okay, so who have you got? You’ve got like Watson at nine. I hope he gets past Watson now, you know. I feel like he should do that. Nine. There’s only five more the way he’s playing. I know, but you you’ve got, as you say, he’s got to stay fit for that long. And you’re also right. Okay, so you’ve got the guys that are there at the moment. That’s assuming that another superstar doesn’t come through. And I know they don’t come through that often, right? But there suddenly can be somebody explodes on the scene. You know, one of these guys that’s playing nationwide or a cause guy that are hitting at 400 all the time, you know, if one of these guys suddenly appears and and it stops it. Do you know I said at start I said at the start of the year in this podcast that he win two majors this year, you can’t see him not wanting to. Um and actually at the end of it um at the end of that tournament there I was like who won the majors this year and I could couldn’t for the life remember that’s pathetic right and I googled oh yeah that was that one Scotty won as well but he won but it bored me I didn’t I didn’t remember it cuz he bored me into the win he like beat everyone up so easily I just forgot it was I was oh yeah it was that was the one yeah you know I remember the Masters I remembered I just I forgot that one. Um so um and saying that I only backed on one of the four majors, but he just does it, doesn’t he? It’s just cuz I’m I’m a terrible gambler, but um I bet in my heart, but he’s very very very good. He’s going to give himself chances. People are scared of him now. They’re they’re scared of him. I mean, he’s he is scary. When he gets on the leaderboard early on in a tournament, you’re thinking that like what I’ve said, the combined major leaderboards this year, right? Hu Jing won it. Who’s Scotty? Scotty won. He was minus 32. Next best. Uh oh. Um Harris English. No. No. I’ll tell you who we You’re wrong with the way you’re speaking. You’re wrong. Just tell me then. Rory. Oh, you’re getting exciting cuz you had like this misfit that Oh, yeah. He’s done really well. Yeah. Now Rory was second. Third was like Xander Schoffley, which is surprised me because I feel like he’s done nothing all year, but he’s just in majors. He’s just there there bits. then John Ram, then Harris English, then Matt Fitzpatrick, Terrell Hatton, JJ Spawn. Obviously, you’ve got to have made the cut in all of them to count. But yeah, um I don’t know if that was interesting. Was it interesting? Not really. Um yeah, he’s he’s the best. He’s the best of the best and he’s he’s made a little bit of a golf. Not a golf, he’s made the boys need to need to step it up. They genuinely need to have their remember when Rory won the Masters. I know. And I was saying Rory could catch him as world number one. Yeah, grand slam. We were talking grand slam. But he’s already built up that thing. Somebody said it the other day, if he didn’t play for 6 to 8 months, he’d still be world number one. That’s how much of a you know, in terms of world rankings that you shouldn’t really care too much about. But yeah, when somebody’s on like this is why I don’t like you talking about how many could he win cuz when Rory won that Masters, I said, “Yeah, we’ve got to remember he’s better than Sheffler. He’s got more game than Sheffer. He’s got more power.” Yeah, he’s going to catch it. We must remember how good Sheffller is next time it happens. Cuz Maroy will win an event and he’ll do it in a swashbuckling way. We’ll think he’s absolutely amazing. Best player on the planet when he plays well. But is he? Not really, is he? No. No, no, no not by a stretch. No, that’s too many bad shots. Can we mention uh Scots? So Connor Graham uh played first major championship qualified young boy from Blair Garry only maybe 18. Yep. and he was going really well. He was like after maybe 20 27 holes he was, you know, right there for making the cut, but had a bad bat nine. But I was looking at his um his strokes gained and stuff because you can see some of those little stats and he was right up there top 10, you know, first 27 holes or so, which was really impressive. Very good. Very impressive. Tells you quite a lot that it tells you he’s he’s got superstar capabilities. He’s got the game. Yeah, he’s got the game. He still looks 12. He does, doesn’t he? Why is it Lizzie? He said, “Why is there a 12-year-old playing the open?” He’ll be getting IDed when he goes for a point. He will. Yeah. Yeah. I remember being in America. I got uh I was probably looking 12. We were at a party and then these torches start, every started running away, and these torches started walking towards me, running towards me, and I was like, “Fuck the hell is this?” It was the Polus. And I’m sitting there with a beer as a 19-year-old. And I got in trouble. So, it was just having a beer. I says, “Oh, I’m from Scotland. You’re allowed beer in Scotland.” Your dad in Scaddled now. Yeah, it happened to me, too. I was thrown in cells. Yeah, that wasn’t a good night. I had to go to You said a pair of ruffians, aren’t you? I I had to go to alcoholic anonymous classes. I did. It was that That wasn’t sure. That was just last year. It was either that or community service. So, I fancied the classes. I did the community service. I painted the I painted the white lines in the roads. Did you on shoe on? I didn’t know that. Did you have to wear one of these orange suits? No, I didn’t. I could turn up in my own clothing to paint the white lines in the I was actually in it was in the car. It was car park the shackles on. No, shackles. Guy on a horse with a big gun. Work, Work. No, that wasn’t quite that. I didn’t know you did that. I thought that was just me. No, it was good fun. Well, well done. Well done. Um Scott, so him Bob obviously. Yeah, Bob. Bob done well again. Bob finished top 10. Bob was you just yeah never caught fire but look you’re a good if you take a shller out Bob was in the hunt very much so very much so this is why people just forget oh wasn’t that good get a we bit dogs abuse for his behavior on the Saturday seemingly yeah but yeah we all get angry sometimes y but he he uh he’s one of the best players in the world now I mean it’s uh it’s in there next major championship probably you’ll be up there amongst the favorites yeah he’s got he’s got to have cemented his play. Well, he’s already in the RDER Cup, isn’t he? Yep. Oh, 100%. Yeah. Um, but yes. No. Um, it was just it was just a Scottish show and became a little bit boring really because I love watching Hatton again this week. I just I I just love watching it. Wish people would stop saying, “Oh, the commentators would stop apologizing for language.” But I guess they’ve got to. That’s part of the I wasn’t a huge fan and then I have become one and I’m actually going off them again. You think it’s too much? I think he would be a pain in the ass to play with. I think I would actually I think I would I would be I would be having words with him if I was playing with him. People have but that doesn’t make any difference. Um but he’s uh he is a pain in the ass to play with. Uh but off the golf course, you can hear him in interviews. He’s he’s brand new diamond. Um yeah, it’s just who he is. Once you put the spikes on, put the spikes on, people turn. They change. Turn. It’s like people walking into a restaurant. Well, I find it Yeah, I find it very very amusing to watch in TV and and arguably more more Well, I I say I did for a while and I was liking him and I’ come into him, but I’m I’m I’m over the edge again. What about Bryson? I mean, Bryson had a really poor first day and the commentators fouled us all over it saying he needs to learn how to play Lynx golf. Hits it too high, hits a draw, that’s the wrong shot, you need to pay a fade and all this stuff. And then he goes like 62 62 62 And he had, you know, his his scores over the last three rounds were two better. I counted up two better than Sheffler. Unfortunately, he started with 78. Um, he learned quite, didn’t he? His scores in the first in the last three rounds or last two rounds? The last three rounds. Three rounds. Yeah. So, he was the best player in the field the last three rounds, but 78 is never going to wasn’t a great start, but to make the cut and then and shoot that. Ridiculous. Eh, brilliant. Yeah, but then if what happens if he had played at the Renaissance the week before, I think that would have helped him. I don’t know. It’s not just a case of that’s the way he plays golf. That’s the way I’m attacking this golf course. And because it’s so aggressive, I might have a day that’s rubbish. And that’s and Sheffller seems to just not take that gamble. Just I don’t know. Maybe maybe that’s the way. Maybe he’s just like, “No, this is how I’m attacking the golf course. I’m still going to attack it.” Yeah, there’s no right and wrong. If it comes off, it’s right. If it doesn’t, it’s wrong. Comes off, he wins, right? It was very noticeable though just not sticking up for Faldo but a lot of players are hitting that squirty fade this week. how Tom Lee maybe it’s just the way it’s a lot of left to right T-shotty shots is it apart from the fourth which gave me the heebiejibbies but a lot of them it was it had it that way now anyway don’t they it’s probably it’s probably why I love the golf course it suited my eye in terms of left to right but I suppose I just noticed it this week more just the the the low take you know she hits down on it quite a lot sometimes it seems just it’s a safe shot isn’t it that that shot mhm plus you get more out of it in link golf normally in Yeah, if you’re chasing it there, you get the ball flight down, it gets running. The big high bomber sometimes doesn’t, you know, big effort and it goes the same distance as your little chip and chase. See, the draw looks an uncomfortable shot now. I I just think a draw getting stuck underneath it trying to flap the hands at it just looks like a much more spoken like a true draw of ball. All I need to do is get stuck underneath it and flap my hands at it and I get a little draw. It just looks less reliable, doesn’t it? You just I don’t know. know there’s something about a fade I just much prefer. We’ve always seen it that way, haven’t we, Peter? I certainly have. I don’t know if you used to see that with the old equipment back in the day. No, no, but I’m talking about me and Peter. Oh, right. All right. Yeah, Peter fading it around, stravening your 80 8 under. Uh so anyway, that’s that’s the open uh championship. Oh, by the way, she offers up to 20 points. I haven’t seen somebody at 20 points in the world ranking since Tiger. I don’t think it was a bit disappointing. There was no silver medal. So every every missed a cut all the nine amateurs missed a cut. And I think the last time that happened was back in about six years, seven years ago maybe. Um doesn’t happen very often, but you know, don’t know why wasn’t the boy got boy got her up again. Was quite impressive, wasn’t it? Yeah. See over the Scottish and then Yeah. had a good couple of weeks. He’s only 26 and you said world top 10. I still don’t see it. But but maybe now. No, my my pound is safe. Oh well. Okay. Well, we’ll come on to something else. I like them. Europe’s got um Trump Aberdine. Uh well, you said this next week. Two weeks, 7th to the 10th. Then there’s a couple of events like Denmark, British Masters, Crown, and then the Irish Open, BMW, and the French. There’s the French the week before the Rider Cup. So, I don’t know how many of them will turn up that. It’d have been great if the Irish Open could have been this week, wouldn’t it? They play. You might have got a few of them staying on. We always say the tournament after the majors is a bit rubbish. I know what you’re saying though. At the same time, you’ve had signature events. I know, but it’s a different format over there. But the PJ tour is now into two shy events and then FedEx Cup straight away uh for 3 weeks and then they have a month off in Europe. The BMW is like two weeks before the the RDER Cup. The Americans have a month off again before the Ryder Cup. But it’s got to give us a we advantage, hasn’t it? Well, I can see after last year mean we’re playing in America, aren’t we? I can see a couple of them coming over to play BMW. A couple more. I I think it’s it’s pretty obvious that we beat them because they were rusty. Scottish going to be nine and seven. Do you know something ridiculous like that? Um there’s a little bit of rust and I don’t care what everyone says about you can stand in the range and hit balls. Tournament rust is a thing that you get in you just remember how you hit shots in that situation. and blah blah playing golf and under the kosh that’s where they get rusty. It’s not they’re not going to be rusty cuz they’re not hit golf balls, but yeah, I think they need to be competitive. Yeah, I think you’re right. I think some of them will will maybe come and play in Europe. Yeah. Yeah, I can see see quite a few of them. They will be at the French though cuz the French is the week before. I can’t imagine any No, you don’t have to play the week before. That that’s maybe a bit much, but the ones leading up to that. Yeah, they’ll be at Beth Paige the week before. Yeah, yeah, some of that. Um, yeah. Anyways, I can get a t RDER Cup. So, we’ve got in in at the moment for us is Maroy, McIntyre, Fleetwood, Hatton, Lowry, and Straa. That’s your six that are in just now. Um, yeah. And they’ll all play. Yeah, they’re all regardless if it changes. They’re all They will be in. Okay. Tell me, tell me in right Hogard next up. Pass. Pass. Pass. I don’t know. Hasn’t could you go past seventh qualifier? No. Okay. So, Raasmus is in. Where’s the Where’s Nikolai? Do you think Do we think he will be in or if it was picked right now? Uh, picked right now. Yeah, he’d be in. All right. He’d be in. Yeah. So, I thought you think I do. I think he’ll stay in. Okay, I will. Justin Rose in. Yep. Yes. Surprised he’s made another one to be honest. But he’s done well in the majors. But he’s awesome in the Red Cups as well. I mean, he’s pretty good. Ludvig. Yeah. Yeah. Hland. Yeah. At least he’s shown it in the majors, though. He has coming back to form. Yep. Yeah. But I feel like he’s a world player. He wasn’t. Yeah, he’s definitely a world player, but he’s been very hot and cold this year, isn’t it? Although he’s better than he’s been. Thomas Detree. No. Matt Wallace. No. No. Matt Fitzpatrick. Yes. That’s as far as I went. Yeah. Yeah, I don’t even know if Fitzpatrick needs to show me something. Yeah, but he’s done it in the last month. He just said he’s done well in the majors, right? So, he said he’s top four or five in the majors combined, but but he’s done it and he’s coming into form. Yeah. No, you’re right. No, you’re right. As opposed to the guys that have been up there and are moving down the way. If it was picked today, yeah, I suppose you would put him in. We wait and see where where he goes. But you mentioned John Ram. If John Ram’s going to be a pick, he’s going to be Yeah. Uh but yeah, there’s a lot of strength and depth in Europe just now. I think someone like Hogland, if you’re on the if you’re on the sort of uh on the fence, you got to be thinking he’s a world players player states, you’ve got to take him. And actually, the crowd would like him. Yeah. So, he’s going to be an advantage to have on your team rather than a someone the crowd maybe don’t that could pick on crowd could pick on Hogard, couldn’t they? They’re not going to pick on him. He’s everyone loves him whether you’re American or whatever. Nikolai seems to somebody as there I don’t have Nikolai but I imagine he’s not far off that list but yeah it’s kind of fallen away. I haven’t heard much from him. Mhm. Yeah. Yeah. If Hovin’s hovered about he’ll be he’ll be in. Yeah. I’m still waiting for them to spark. Both of them waiting for them to spark. Hatton’s the other guy from Liv. He’s got to be in. Yeah. He’s in all day. Oh no. He is. No. Sorry. He’s in already. He’s mentioned. Then you’ve got then you’ve got the Americans which are in Sheffller, Schoffley, Spawn, Russell Henley, De Shambo, and Harris English. They’re in Then you’ve got like I don’t know a weird bunch. I mean Justin Thomas is going to be in surely. Yep. Mhm. But yeah, Mora is kind of blah this year. Ben Griffin, Keegan Bradley, will he play? Will he not play? Um, Maverick, McNeely, Brian Harmon, Andrew Novak. I mean, it’s not been that we’re a better team. We we we seem to have more strength than the Americans. I keep hearing space names still getting mentioned. Why are they talking about him? I don’t know. I just don’t get it. Cuz he’s one of one of their pals. Yeah. He’s not in the same He’s not He’s not even close. He was good 10 years ago. Yeah. I don’t get why they’re even thinking about him. Yeah, he’s not. He’s not. Well, who’s talking about? Glitterup’s actually right up in there after the last two weeks. Oh, I think he’s got to be definitely thought about. Uh, who’s in live? De Shambo. Who else is there any live? Trying to think who’s in live from the Americans. Not really. Can’t think of anyone else. Bricks. Brooks won’t make it this. It’s a shame. He’s a sort of guy. Should be radical. He should just Yeah. Yeah. just pick him. Get him in and get out one of those other guys. We’re We’re a stronger Well, rankings won’t show it, but we we seem like a stronger team. We’ve got a couple of certainly top end weaklings. We need I don’t mean weak weaklings. I just mean like not pro like Justin Rose, Holgard, Fitzpatrick not really proving themselves yet as far as I’m concerned. But in terms of us having super Justin Rose this this for the Ryder Cup this year this this time coming up I think he’s done well in majors. I just want to see a bit more normal tournaments. We need a stronger team though. This is going to be a tough one to win. Yeah. That’s what I mean. That’s Yeah. Anyway, it’s Yeah, it’s just it’s funny this season, you know, that’s the open finished and now we’re like we’ve got that the ride I’ve got at least to look forward to. Yes. So there is the buildup to that. The FedEx is isn’t great. Although they have changed the format this year. Have they confirmed what it is? The the two championships just an event now. It’s not a which I prefer. No. 10 shot start. It’s still three events at the end of the year where all the players are going to be playing which will be which will be interesting. We’ve got a couple like the BMW and maybe the Irish and Europe. Uh yeah, there’s enough to keep us going. There is. There is. Anyway, right. Uh that’s it. That’s plenty. That’s plenty. But got a busy day. We need to go need to go and work. Okay, we’re going to get a cup of coffee first though. Absolutely. Okay, thank you guys. We’re going to speak to you next week. Cheers.
