With over 100 clients relying on its services, the Brain Injury Association of Sault Ste. Marie & District is gearing up for its biggest fundraiser of the year
The search is on for golfers and sponsors for the Brain Injury Association of Sault Ste. Marie & District’s third annual golf tournament fundraiser.
The tournament will be held Thursday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m. at Crimson Ridge Golf Course.
“Support from golfers and sponsors will help ensure that this event is not only successful but also a memorable day for everyone involved, while serving our core mission of supporting brain injury survivors and their families within our community,” said Chantal Scopacasa, Brain Injury Association of Sault Ste. Marie & District (BIASSMD) executive director and peer support coordinator, in a release.
All funds raised will go toward the association – a registered charity – so that survivors, their family members and caregivers can have access to education, peer support programs and activities.
The BIASSMD currently has over 100 clients in the Sault and area.
The organization takes brain injury survivors on outings. Representatives hold a monthly in-person peer support program meeting at the John Rhodes Community Centre and a monthly coffee social in collaboration with Spinal Cord Injury Ontario.
The fee for each four-person team to enter the golf tournament is $850.
The day includes 18 holes of golf and golf cart as well as a grab-and-go breakfast at registration, a burger with side order and drink for lunch and sirloin steak dinner with baked potato, vegetables and dessert.
Those who register on or before July 29 will be entered for a chance to win prizes in an early bird draw.
Registration closes Thursday, Sept. 4 at 5 p.m.
Players can register online at the Brain Injury Association of Sault Ste. Marie & District website or the Crimson Ridge Golf Course website.
Information for corporate sponsors who can donate up to $1,500, $2,000, $2,500 or $3,000 to the golf fundraiser can be found by contacting the Brain Injury Association of Sault Ste. Marie & District by email or by phone at (705) 971-1050.
