Hey guys, welcome back to Modern Golf. I hope you’re having a great day and even better week as we say. If you’re new to the channel, I am your pilot today, Jeff. Uh I am running today’s show, but today we’re talking about the newest G4 and really expectations where they met and all that good stuff. I got to tell you, uh when I recently ordered these, I did not really have high expectations for these at all. The G112s, the Gallivanters, the Gallivan 2RS we’ve absolutely loved. Stay tuned so we can tell you if these are even worth picking up. So, as we normally do when we talk about shoes, I like to talk about sizing first. I think it’s uh so many people miss out when you’re looking for a new shoe. How do they run? I do. go street shoe size, uh, athletic shoe size. How do these fit? So, I’m going to talk about this first. I am traditionally have always been a 9 and a half and G4. Uh, I ordered these in a nine 9 and 1/2. They fit great. I know I talked to some people thought they ran a little long, maybe a smidge, but I would still stick with your normal size. If you have never purchased G4 before, I would say go with your athletic shoe size. If you’re a 9 and a half in Adidas or Nike, um, I would go with that size. Don’t go down half a size or go with your dress shoe size. Go with your athletic shoe size again. Um, and I’ll give you another cross reference. If you are a nine uh, in Fjoy, go up a half a size for these. So, hope that helps. So, I didn’t find that these ran very wide or very narrow. Kind of very true to form with G4. Where I was very, very, very, very surprised is the comfort in these. And I immediately said to somebody when I put these on, these may be the most comfortable golf shoe I’ve ever worn. And I don’t disagree with my own statement. They are really that comfortable. So, we’ve tested them a number of rounds now and I want to kind of give you my feedback of are they really the best golf shoe or are they one of the best golf shoes or is it an easy pass? So, let’s talk about pack packaging first. If you’ve never ordered shoes from G4, G4 does it like nobody’s business. Um, some of the coolest my G112s were in a bright pink box. This is a red box. They do a mag a magnetic closure. So, you can hear that. They also come with an extra set of laces. These are blue with like a neon yellow um throughout. I’m going to put these back in the box. So, let’s talk about this shoe. We talked about sizing. Comfort is off the chart. It is really, I would say, in the top two or three golf shoes we have tested in the last two or three years with comfort. Um, and I don’t mean just initial comfort, overall comfort, overall comfort with playing, zero fatigue, obviously wearing these when they’re brand new, but little to no fatigue when you get off the golf course. You know, a lot of shoes we wear um and you get off the golf course and you can’t wait to get your shoes off. These are not them. So, I’m going to give you kind of a quick tour of this shoe and then we’ll kind of wrap up. It won’t be a super long review and I’ll tell you what I like and kind of what we dislike. So, in very G4 fashion, um, this colorway is white. Obviously, navy has a little camo in the back and this bright neon kind of yellow, but very cool looking shoe. I would say it almost resembles to me like a a midtop basketball shoe. It’s not that tall, but has the a little bit resemblance of a Jordan 11 with the kind of color blocking that they do here, but very smooth. Has a little bit of a texture material. It’s a waterproof shoe here. And as you guys will see, it does have an outrigger because those guys always ask me, “How’s the stability with this shoe?” Really good. Um, really, really good. So, as we go around this, you see the little G4 logo, this very cushiony uh sole. As we wrap around, you’ll see this little G4 logo with this pole. I don’t have any idea what this pole is for. I just think it’s decor. I don’t think you can pull it and it does anything. If you have these and it does something, let me know. But again, I I don’t know. It just seems to be kind of decoration. But again, the heel counter has this little camouflage thing. And as we go around, it had this G4 logo on this side as well. And then pretty pretty streamlined, pretty clean looking shoe. For the tongue, I want to show you a couple things. It has this kind of rubbery material and this G4 stripe going up and down. It’s it feels great tactile wise. It’s It’s fantastic. It does have a significant heel cushion in here, and the Achilles pad is not super big. Um, but again, very comfortable. So, what I want to show you guys, because this is something we get hit on all the time, is people love, if I can get this thing out. So, the footed, it’s not very thin, as you can see. The insole is not very thick, I should say, but it has this texture that people love. What I will tell you, I have a love and hate relationship with this. I think comfort-wise, it’s fantastic. What I notice when you first wear these, especially the first round or two, it’s slippery a little bit. So just and you don’t slide, you know, a ton, but you will notice a little bit uh in your shoe. I know Tiger’s collection with Sunday Red, uh their shoes have also kind of done the same thing, but it is a cool product for insole. The nice thing, too, those are replaceable on G4’s website. I’m not sure if you can buy them anywhere else, um but they are replaceable as you wear these out and you want to add new ones. So, we talked about stability. Comfort, I would say, is as high as you can get in a golf shoe. This shoe is a little I I’d say higher stacked um of a of a cushion. I didn’t notice anything in particular that threw me off for my swing. I played 27 holes in these yesterday and again, I didn’t notice anything. I think they’re great. They’re have a waterproof warranty and I’ll put all the information up. I believe these are 225. I’ll put pricing up or 245. I think they’re 225. really solid golf shoe. Uh they come in a few different colorways. The other thing I really liked about these, and we’ll get into the traction side of it here, is they have two kind of different platforms. This is uh reminds me of another shoe, a Fjoy Pro SLX. Uh if we pull that one out and we looked at this, the shoe’s very similar on the bottom, but now G4 has put these spikes in here, uh that are replaceable, which I think is great. I I think there’s nothing worse than spending $200, $250 on golf shoes and they literally don’t you can’t replace them and after a season or two if you’re lucky. Overall, really really solid golf shoe. Again, I would say this is um outside of a couple of shoes that I own, maybe the most comfortable golf shoe. We’ll continue to test and report back, but really have enjoyed this G4. If you’re on the fence or you’re looking, you know, what do we think of G4 uh regarding this golf shoe, it’s fantastic. It really is. And again, it surprised me. I didn’t I had zero expectations and my expectations were probably not had a very positive outlook until I got them, put them on, wore them, and they’ve been literally incredible. So, if you’re looking for these, I have no links, I have no codes, I have no anything. Um, I’m not on GeForce payroll. There’s no commissions here. I just want to give you guys my honest feedback of these. If you get a chance, try them out. Again, I think sizing you may be able to get they had 9 and a/4. Um maybe I go down to 9 and a quarter, but nothing where I thought these ran overly long. Comfortwise is their stability is great. Durability, we will see, right? I mean, I’ve had no issues with any of my G4 shoes. Um but again, really, really comfortable shoes. Really good for traction and overall just a really, really solid golf shoe.
