Hamilton Farm’s Reed Greyserman birdied two of the three holes in a three-person playoff to win the 70th Ike MGA Stroke Play Championship at his home course to earn his third MGA title.

Greyserman edged Mike Rothberg of Sterling Farms and Nathan Han of USGA/MGA GC in the three-hole aggregate playoff after the trio all finished at 9-under for the 54 hole championship. The rising sophomore at Princeton University won the MGA/MetLife Boys’ Championship in 2019 and 2020. He is the first home club champion of the Ike since 1998, when Greg Rohlf won at Wykagyl.

it was a little weird i got off to a really good start in round two i think I was just four under through 10 which mean 10 for the tournament and I tripled two I doubled six but you know I don’t think it really changed anything um at the end of the day it’s still very long tournament you just got to keep grinding keep pushing every single shot you know i birdie nine then I went to 10 i had a perfect T- shot um and then I had a little wedge there it’s a little trickier than it looks so green kind of slopes down it’s pretty firm spun up there to like two feet tap that in and then 11 I hit a great T- ball hit the second shot kind of just right but that’s kind of where you want to miss it you know trying to miss in the right spots avoid the bad spots that was a really easy up and down there to get birdie there 14’s a part five you know it’s tougher than it seems cuz I missed that fairway left and all of a sudden the rough’s pretty gnarly over there so I kind of got it as far as I could about 50 55 yards out had a decent trip about 20 ft and you know poured that one in which is big i put it great all week that was really the key 15 they actually moved the tea way up to make it drivable which is pretty cool hit a great T- shot just right the green again really good with the putter two putt to get the birdie there and that was nice I think that put me in the lead at that point I actually I played the 4 to am two weeks ago and I won that in the playoff I’ve kind of learned over time that you know I kind of enjoy it kind of gets me more locked in and to take that going forward is good thing to know we already played the holes in regulation so you kind of know what’s coming and had a great T- shot on seven about 20 feet good two put par shot on the fairway on eight and then great second shot 10 feet poured that one in and then nine that second shot was probably a shot of the week for me hit it exactly how I drew it up then 2011 played like 96 tried to hit a hard draw seven perfectly like 20 ft got it done it’s really special you know i mean I’ve played this course god knows how many times and I’m standing on nine fairway of a shot to win the golf tournament on a hole i’ve played so many times it’s really cool feeling it was really fun and to get it done here just feels amazing especially after having won the boys i mean this is my third MGA one i’m looking forward to more
