Hey guys, welcome back to another Get Up video. I’m Philip. I’m Andy. And today we’re going to be talking about another review on these wedges. That’s right. I just got my Tacoma wedges in. And so we’re going to do a little challenge, father versus son. We’re going to hit like a 59 yard shot and just kind of give you our honest review how they feel, how they perform. Uh this will be my first time trying these out, so I’m really excited about that. Um and then maybe we’ll back up and hit some further shots. Yeah. You know, just kind of give them a variety of shots. Absolutely. But again, we’re just going to give you our raw opinion as we’re hitting these on how we think these feel, how they perform. Mhm. Let’s do it. Daddy goes first. All right. Daddy goes first. I’ve already been playing with this wedge um the last couple weeks. Um I did my unboxing. If you haven’t seen that video, go check it out. But I’ve been using my wedge for the last couple weeks now. I love it. Um, get lots of spin on the greens. Uh, my friends that I’ve played golf with, every time I hit a shot, they’re like, “Dang, that thing’s spun back. You’re checked up really well.” So, it’s been really cool. Um, I like it a lot. You got the 60°? Yeah, I just have the 60 for now. I replaced my old Cleveland wedge, which was fine. I just didn’t like it as much cuz the grooves were getting bad. It didn’t have the full face groove on it, which this one does, and it’s amazing. It’s also got the mil face, too, which is awesome. Um, you can see it that gets a lot of extra spin if it’s wet conditions or whatever. It’s been sweet. Visually speaking, they look really cool. Yeah. Um, I agree. They also feel like they’re pretty good quality. Yeah. But I went with the 58 and I also got a 50°ree. We have a 66 shot. Each one of us gets five shots. Best out of five wins. All right. Good luck to you. Psych. Wow. happened to golf etiquette. Pulled it and it’s short. Not a lot of spin there. Just got to be more aggressive here. That’s pretty good. Got to go. Interesting. Okay. Okay. Okay. I mean, still be happy with that. I’d be happy on the green. Yeah. Um, I haven’t hit a lofted wedge like this for for quite a while. Yeah. The wedge you usually use is 54°, right? So, the extra 4° taking a little bit getting used to, but yeah, I like the way it feels initially. Mhm. It’s really crisp off the face. Yeah. And I do feel like it’s generating quite a bit of spin. Yeah. What’s the spin numbers on it? Yeah. 70 almost 7,400 back spin. But I feel like you should still see a little more than that. Yeah, I I caught those off the toe a little bit. Okay, I did it again off the toe. I mean, I’m consistently hitting the front of the green. I mean, yeah, in real life, that’s This is probably where I should grab my 50°. Sure. But I’m just going to take a little bit bigger swing here, right? This is the first round anyways. Definitely coming little out to in on that one. Got some more spin on it. Okay. Focus up here. Focus up. I got one more shot. One more shot. I was talking all that smack and I’m Yeah. Probably going to lose here. That’s all right. Go in the hole. Can all be winners. Go in the hole. I don’t know what that was. Well, I lost that round, that’s for sure. Well, I So, I Dad has a 58 degree and I have a and a 50 degree. You said 5850. Yeah. So, I just have a 60 degree right now from Tacomao. Um I have a couple Bob Bokis that I can use, but I’m just going to try and use this tonight since it’s the one I have. But that might be too far right. Going to bunker. I’ve been I’ve been doing that with this. Uh Oh, you just tied me for my best. Are you serious? 30 ft seven. There you go. That’s still right off the toe. That’s the winner though. Yeah, you’re at 23 23 feet 10. So, you already won. But go ahead and finish out. It’s nothing to brag about, but there you go. That one’s long. No, I think you’re good. Yeah, you’re right. It is long. It was a little It was a little on the skinny side. Yeah, we need to practice, right? Yeah. I’m also I will say I’m not used to um my wedges being standard length. There we go. That’s the money one. That’s the money. Yeah, that’s in the circle. Oh, look at this. It back. Sheesh. All right, one more. 87. Oh, I wasn’t ready. Yeah, I didn’t say ready. You got a freebie. He does that all the time. I got a freebie. Ready. How do you feel? Pretty good. I feel like um they get a lot more spin than I’m used to with my other wedges, which I I like that because I can be aggressive with the ball. Um I’m just still trying to figure out how to hit 60° 60°, which I think a lot of us out here are. All right, let’s do a rematch. All right, rematch. I played horrible that round. I Yeah, I love the fa I love the feel of these wedges a lot. Moving back to 80 yards. You hitting the gap now. I’m going to hit my 50°. Okay. Kind of like the same. That’s technically a gap, right? I think so. It’s It is for me. It’s my gap wedge. Okay. 50 to 52 cuz then you got 56 to I guess 54 58 is like sand wedge. I guess 58 would be lobb wedge. Hey, you’re in the green though. Distance is good. That was perfect, man. Your sight your spin was not very high on it, but it it that worked out. 16 ft 10. Let’s see if I can get one close. Get up there. Get up. Nice. I got you. Get up. Yeah. They feel good. Yeah, they feel really good. I like the way they look, too. They look super clean. They kind of have like that satin finish to them. Looks pretty These don’t have like the rust face, do they? Do they? I don’t think they do. Yeah, I think they stainless. Yeah, because cuz they have the milled face on them. Yeah, that’s all right. Yeah. Oh my word. That’s another shank, dude. That’s two shanks for me tonight. Yesesh. Not good. Shank Haney. Okay. Hank. Shank Haney. Come on. What is that from? Is that a name? Is that somebody? Shank. Hank Haney. Hank Haney. Yeah. Shank Haney. I’m just not being aggressive enough. And like I’m afraid for some reason that I’m going to hit him long. And I’m not even coming close to hitting him long. Well, that’s your gap. It’s probably what a 90 yard club if I take a full swing. 90 to 100 yards. I’ll take more of a full swing and just say if it sails over, it sails over. So be it. It’s going to be a little over. Obviously, lot over 100 yards. But hey, that you know it’s like a 100 yard club. Yeah. I don’t know how far I can hit a 60° here, but we’ll see if we can get it up there. Man, I’m getting steep. Oh, it wasn’t ready for me again. Oh, it’s right. That one wasn’t as good. Right club just Look at the spin on that. That spun back a lot. Had like almost 11,000 spin there. 30 ft. Hitting a little fade lately. Been like I’ve been liking it. Come on. Come on. Come on. Yeah. Oh, that was close. That had a chance. Let it say ready. Let it say ready. Come on. Ready. I I do like this club a lot though. Loving it on the on the course. That one’s long. Gosh dang it. It’s right by the other one. It’s really close. I mean, if you carry that two yards less, it’s going to spin right back to the inner circle, probably. Ready? That one’s right. I extended my hips. Hit a little fluffy, man. Not hitting good shots. It’s not because of the club. It’s just because of me. There was a better one. Still needs to go. Come on. Get up. Get up. Roll off. I’ll tell you, there’s 11,000 spin right there. I’ll tell you what, I don’t have Player one is the winner. How about that? 16 ft. Okay, hopefully you guys enjoy this video. If you’re enjoying the video so far and you really like it, leave a like down below and let us know if you have any questions about these clubs or if you’d like to see us do anything else. Appreciate you watching. Let’s get up and go. 104 should be a full-blown 50° for me. Full-blown 50°. I’ve noticed with wedges, and again, something I have to work on, but any wedge I use, I get really steep on the down swing. Yeah, I’ve been working on my irons, and I’m doing pretty good with shallowing them, but with a with a wedge, I get steep. Steep like the price of Bob Vogis. That was a joke. That’s almost perfect distance. Just perfect. Nobody say not that. If you would have hit it straight, you wouldn’t have pulled. The only reason why Look at that, dude. That’s why it went left. I was out to in 3° 13° shut. But if you’re uh But if it would have gone straight, it wouldn’t have gone 170 yard carry, right? So, it would have been perfect. Just got to give you the benefit of the doubt, Dad. Appreciate it. Yep. That’s what I’m here for. There you go. See, that’s that’s good. That’s what you want. That’s perfect, dude. That’s going to be hard to beat. Get out of here, man. You got lucky on that one. Kidding. That’s rather be lucky than skilled. Ready. I would be rather rather be. I can’t talk today. Two feet five inches. There’s no way I’m beating that, man. I got to hit it in the hole. That was pretty solid. Yeah, just a little left. Yeah. Hit it really good, though. Should spin. Yeah, I really I really like these wedges so far. I’m excited to hit that 50° cuz they feel good. I haven’t Yeah, I haven’t seen Oh, that’s a long one. It’s over. Come back. Not enough spin to do it. Nope. But it was a good shot though. I mean, when you got your wedges, did they both come in the same box? They came in the same brown box, but then they were each individually boxed. That’s cool. And they had the label on each box for the for each one degree of the Yeah. Okay, cool. Another shank. I think I shanked it every match so far. At least yours is 2 foot and 5 in away from the hole. Man, that’s not good. Phillip, that’s not good. Can I try just 58°? Yeah, it’s right there. Cuz I hit my my 60 if I hit it full like 80° 80 yards. So, I feel like this 58 might be the perfect one. I don’t like that I’ve shanked it three times with these. I’m going to be honest. We’re giving you an honest review here. I don’t usually shank wedges. That’s short. Yeah, I’m not blaming it on the wedge, but I I want to say it’s the shaft. Something just doesn’t feel right with the shaft to me, right? That’s still short. I’m going to go to the 50° cuz I don’t feel like that’s going to be the one. I guess it’s going to fade into a little bit. Nice. Dude, it’s going to be hard to beat that 2 foot 5 in. Is that my 50°? Yeah. How does it feel to you? I like it. Yeah. I like the um I like looking down the sight of it. Ready? Honestly, I wish all my irons had a full face groove. All right, I got two more shots. See if I can do this. Oh, that club grip just slipped out of my hand. I almost lost it. Yeah, well, it might be inside of mine here. No, the other thing is this green, it might be sloping from front to back. Sure. And that’s why the ball’s not backing up either, cuz you got you got 10,275 total spin on that one. Sure. Your back spin on that was 10,232. Yeah. Oh, I pulled that one. It’s gone. She gone. She gone, girl. Still not bad. Yeah. I mean, hey, I’d be happy with three of those. Um, but I’d be really happy if I had dad’s 2 foot 5 in one. Well, I like I really like these the way this this wedge feels. It’s not, you know, it’s not going to completely change my game, but I do think that for the price that we paid for them, they’re really really well made. I agree. They’re very well-made wedges. Yep. I’ll definitely give them that. Quality is great. So, for me, quality is is really good. I think Tacomao in general has very good quality products. Um, I like the looks of them, too. Especially when you set it down on the ground, it just has a really nice look to it. Um, for me, the shaft, I wish I could have chosen a different shaft, but I think it’s something I can get used to. The KBS, it just feels like it’s probably a little too heavy for me, but that’s okay. Yeah, I agree. I feel like I would have liked the lighter weight shaft on it. Yeah, like 100 100 g. 100 grams. Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. But it looks really good. Like I mean for what you pay for a for a full face groove wedge with the milled grooves and everything. 99 bucks. Yeah. I mean that’s why I got two of them. Yeah. When I saw the price I’m like I’m getting two of these. It’s basically you can get two for the price of the industry standard. Exactly. Um, so is it worth the question is I guess is it worth is it worth $100 or would you rather spend 180 on, you know, industry standard like a B? Honestly, if I’m being honest, time will tell. My initial thoughts, um, I’ve been playing with the Callaway Jaws wedge and I don’t feel that big of a difference. And again, this is a new wedge. This is the literally the first time I’ve hit with it, so time will tell. But initially, I don’t feel like there’s much difference between the two of them. Um, so for the price, it’s hard to beat. Mhm. Um, and and I’m interested to see how well they hold up the quality of the material on the face. But in comparison with your 2011’s that you’ve been playing with all summer, I got to believe these are going to hold up nicely. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. I don’t I don’t have any concerns with that. But time will tell how these perform. It is cool to be able to get out here on the simulator and try them out. Yep. because it’s something I’ve got to work on with my game. And getting two new wedges and having three wedges in my bag. I got a 50, 54, 58 is exciting for me because I do feel like eventually if I keep working at it, it’s going to help me lower my scores. Absolutely. Yeah. How about you? No, I think they’re great wedges. Um I feel like they really do get the job done well. I’ve been using them for a couple weeks now, so you can kind of see some scratches on the top there and a couple dings, but that’s just what you get with a Forge Wet softer metal. um it’s going to get little scratches and dings on it. I mean, you’re using it, right? Right. Um but as far as the face goes, that’s what I’m most worried about and kind of wanting to see down the road how it looks in time. Um but yeah, no, I mean, for the three, four rounds that I’ve played golf with them, I really do feel confident in the spin on them and getting the distance I need and the feel. Um I don’t feel like I’m hitting shots 20 yards further than I was expecting to, 10 yards shorter unless I hit an errant shot. So, I think they’re really well made for the price so far and we’ll see, like you said, how time what time will tell. Um, and so I’m really excited to take them out and do on the course a little bit more and see how well they hold up over time. Me, too. So, appreciate you all watching.
