SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – It might be the middle of the offseason for the Notre Dame men’s basketball team, but the Irish are still being active in the community.
The Coaches vs. Cancer Golf Classic was held today at Warren Golf Course, with head coach Micah Shrewsberry among those in attendance.
Just last night, Shrewsberry served as the special guest speaker at the Night of the Stars reception at Four Winds Casino.
And today, he spoke with the media about the significance of his team’s involvement in the event.
“We are trying to teach life lessons. That’s something important for them to get a chance to see people, get a chance to meet people, but be a part of the helping in some kind of way,” Shrewsberry said.
Coach Shrewsberry also shared how the summer has been going for this year’s group.
“I think our continuity is a little bit different than a lot of people around the country,” he said. “Having seven guys back, it doesn’t sound like a lot but we can talk about things and guys are doing it already. We made some changes to some stuff and schematically in what we are doing, but they’ve picked up on it really well and I think they have come with an unbelievable attitude.”
