All right. So Grant Holmes takes the mound and, you know, with all the injuries the Braves have had in their starting rotation, they really need this guy and he’s been pitching pretty well. Ben. No, he’s been really good. Look at the opponent’s average. 213. That’s the sixth best in the national league. 100 and 13 strikeouts on the year, ninth best in the national league as well. He has been very, very consistent. 14 of his 17 stars, three earned runs or less series finale, the Orioles going for the sweep and the young star Jackson Holiday, second big league season just 21 years of age digs in to face off against Grant Holmes. It’s a little pop to left field and that is going to drop fair for Holiday pro far and Riley went as far as they could. Nobody could get to it and it’s a leadoff single, just a ball hit out there in the Bermuda triangle almost. And now a former Brave and Ramon Liano Orioles don’t run a lot 61 stolen bases on a year. That’s 17th in baseball. Jackson holiday’s got nine. So he, and you can see where his front foot is. He’s got a above average lead out there. Looks like he’s getting ready to take off. He does struck him out, threw him out double play. So Grant Holmes gets a two for one and they are two down in the first. If you’re Grant Holmes, that’s absolutely perfect for you. Leadoff guy gets home with a single, he makes a perfect pitch and Holmes gets the first strike out of the ball game and now he deals with hunter. It was an intercostal strain that had him hampered earlier in the year here. He bounces out to Oz and send us to the bottom of the first. And it is Trevor Rogers, the 27 year old lefty on the hill for Baltimore. I mean, you got to go back. Trevor Rogers was an all star with the Marlins back in 2021 and the fastball averaged 9495. Then he lost a little bit velocity the last couple of years, slow roller to third profile runs pretty well and he beats it out is getting the start at third, did everything he could, but it’s an infield single Ramona, a goal glover about three years ago for the Orioles. And he was playing back where he should have been here that recently had a 33 game on base streak that ended Friday, but Then he started a new streak. Yesterday was a triple short of the cycle swing and a miss good job by Trevor Rogers. Nasty there to take care of matt Olson. Trevor Rogers has been good this year. I mean, the opponent’s batting average only 165. Now that’s a sample side. It’s only four starts in 22 innings, but 3 to 1 strike out the walk ratio. And he looks like a totally different pitcher this year than what he was last year. Austin Riley comes up swinging off the end of the bat out towards Ker two down 12 homers for Murphy. Three of those over his last five starts. Swing and a miss good start for Trevor Rogers. So Kobe Mayo getting an opportunity here today. 23 year old rookie Orioles fourth round pick back in 2020 tried to go inside but Miss leadoff walk now, Wiley, this one’s going to get away and allow the runner to go to second here. But Wiley does that hair for Grant Holmes look as shiny in this 90 degree heat from down there as it does up here. Brandon. It is blinding you talk. He hadn’t gotten his hair cut since 2017. Well, the reason he hasn’t gotten it cut is because his barber retired in 2017. He didn’t trust anybody else to cut his hair so he let it loose. Hadn’t found a barber that he likes since 2017 man. Quite a few barbers in the Atlanta area listening right now. I need to get a hold of Grant Holmes. This one driven deep to right track wall and gone. Jackson holiday gets the scoring started on a Sunday with a two run homer. Wow. Huh. The youngster only 21 years old , man. I’m gonna tell you what he was fooled on this pitch a little bit. The body got out in front but he kept his hands back and just threw the head of the bat at the ball and got just enough over to stick it over the right field fence. Jackson Holley’s 11th long ball the year, his 36th RB. I certainly big expectations when your father is Matt, it was a seven time all star in 15 years in the bigs, but Jackson, there’s no question. He has a bright future first overall pick. That’s what happens. And his brother, little brother Ethan Hall could be the number one pick in this year’s draft just about a week away from right now. So could be the first time in major league history. Two brothers go 1 to 1 overall in two different drafts, another one to Ozzy Al and that is a Taylor made 463 double play. Austin Riley with a fly out back in the first. He’s zero for one today. Trevor Rogers has really been in a groove so far. Just given up the one infield single and Trevor Rogers who’s been living in the strike zone today does give up his first walk first batter of the game pro far, got a single and Then Trevor Rogers would retire the next 10 in a row before that walk to austin Riley right there. The Marlins lost all nine of those games. He was 0 to 7 with an over five. a didn’t get a lot of run support, but maybe he’s happy to see the Braves in a Baltimore uniform today. But you don’t forget about that no matter what uniform you’re in. You don’t forget about that. Well, he is looking good right now, a walk but a double play that’s six in a row. Now for Grant Holmes, he’s kind of spray it a little bit. The first couple of innings had three walks there in the first couple of innings. But since Then, man, coming into today, we mentioned this guy, Grant Holmes has been striking out a lot of guys. He’s got two so far today. He cannot though. Ultimately Holmes wins the battle. Trevor Roger has been good. So more to say the vilo for me is a little bit down than what we’ve seen the last four starts , but the command is still good , but he gets some swing and miss there at the top of the zone and down goes, Eli White Rogers has been fun to watch for Baltimore today. Hard hit and this gets out to left field fair child with a two out single and Atlanta for the first time. Today has two men on and the Braves with their first runner and score position. That’s kind of been the thing for the Braves lately, not hitting with runners in score position, but a little bit slow in this series, but a little bit slow lately and he gets it by him. The heater. Five strikeouts for Rogers. Yeah, I mean, there’s a chance that Jackson holiday could be an all star. That would be something at 21 years old. I’d say, especially after the way his season started off as a 20 year old last year and that one is going to eke out into center field, another hit for Jackson Holiday. He’s three for three who comes in and hits Ramone Liano and he’s shaking that right wrist. Ramon Lorean appears to be in some pain. I think that got the bat. I don’t think so either. That looked like that hit flush against that right hand. Now, I’ll be honest, the sound that it made, it almost sounded like it did, but that did not hit the bat. That’s right off the right knuckle. I think they do ultimately rule that it was a hit by pitch, not a foul ball. So you got Holiday to second and Lorean to first to short and Nick Allen will throw on to first. So they are able to get two in scoring position are the Baltimore Orioles. It’s a routine ground ball to push runners to 2nd 3rd. Now, the Orioles can score a run without a base hit and will be forced to bring the infield in. So it’s up to ryan o’hearn to drive a ball deep enough and he gets that strikeout and o’hearn back to the dugout two away batting average 213 off Holmes, which is outstanding, but when he gets runners in scoring position, how about 153 it actually goes down. Grant Holmes freezes gets two big strikeouts. Olson has been really, really good over there at first base. He strikes out here though. Trevor Rogers with a half dozen K’s here today. Well, spin him, you got him and I’ll tell you what Trevor Rogers is spinning that breaking Riley hits it hard, but it’s right at , it’s a 543 double play. Trevor Rogers is having some fun out there. He has the Braves scoreless through six. Sean Murphy out to the right center gap and that one is gone. No, it’s not. Looked like he got out of here. They’re going to say it’s a double at least for now for sean Murphy. This is a true chief review of a potential home run that was called in play. Where does it hit? No, that’s right off the top of the wall. I mean, right on the corner of the wall, the way that shot back been well off the batman. It looked like he got it. It sounded good again. Take a look at it right here and we’re hit play runners on second base, but regardless, good start for the Braves here in the bottom of the seventh leadoff double. Now, Ozzie always comes up hacking right field, Lorean backing up and taking it and Murphy will advance 90 ft. You got the rookie catcher who is ding today and Drake Baldwin at the plate really stands out at the plate but he pops this up in foul ground. Stallings makes the catch and that is a huge second out for Trevor Rogers. Yeah, he’s made the call to the bullpen. What an outing for Trevor Rogers six and two thirds. So a couple of changes, the Orioles go to the bullpen. The Braves are going to counter with Harris but it will be yan Cano who is on the throw now for Baltimore and right now he’s trying to keep this two to nothing bouncer to short Henderson has it and the Orioles keep the Braves scoreless through seven big spot here. Bottom of the eighth Olson at the plate. They bring in the lefty soto to face him and now the showdown pitch as the Orioles try to keep the Braves scoreless here in the eighth, another 3 to 2 and he got him 98 up top huge strike out for SOTO. Turn it up Mr Soto. Huh? Braves fans hoping for a rally Baltimore up two to nothing. The two run homer by holiday in the third. That is the difference in the ball game. So it will start with Austin Riley and for Baltimore, Felix Bautista, their closer pitched the last two days. So it’s Sir Anthony Dominguez here been that gets the call and he gets him, what a sequence there to finish off Riley one away zero for three for Murphy against Dominguez with a couple of strikeouts and he’s on the doorstep of another K here, Murphy lifts it out to deep center at the track at the wall. What? Ekes out of here and the Braves are on the board solo, Murphy. A shot to center 2 to 1 and he said that’s payback because he thought he had a home run in the seventh inning. He hit a ball right off the top of the wall and he kicked back in but that one there, it ain’t coming back. But Then Dominguez trying to bounce back here. He’s in front of Albee’s the ball and two strikes. Albes down the right field line and Atlanta trying to stack a rally together here in the night. So the drama builds and pitching coach Drew French out to talk to Dominguez and he got Riley big first out, struck him out but Then Murphy able to get the homer Albee’s a single and now the young rookie Drake Baldwin, he got him 100 that time, triple digits. Come on now, reach back and give me a little extra, sir, Anthony dominguez trying to put the finishing touches on a Baltimore sweep and give Atlanta their ninth loss in 11 games as he goes grounder to second. This should do it and the Orioles sweep, the Braves 2 to 1 is the final as they hang on and dominguez gets the job done in the night.

  1. I’m done with Braves for the season. The just needs to pack it up. How you get sweep by the Orioles. Have no idea who the hitting coach is or what he’s coaching cuz these batters look lost… 3/4 of the lineup is AWOL on a nightly basis.. Harris needs to be demoted like they did Kelnick cuz his offense is missing completely..

  2. Mark my words, as of today. The O’s are gonna go on a heater and get into that third wild card spot by the end of August.

  3. Still disappointed that Jackson didn’t make the all star reserve list. At least we got a sweep. Go O’s 🎉

  4. Why do the Orioles have a pirate's hat in their dugout to wear when somebody hits a home run ? Makes no sense at all .

  5. Both Strider and Acuna have returned this season and the Braves continue to struggle. They have way too much talent to be as bad as they are.

  6. Yrs ago markakis(sp) went to the braves and he was my fiance's favorite Oriole. She has since passed away but since then i root for Atl! But go Os

  7. If the Braves end up like #25 or higher this week in the team rankings, I will be surprised. Utterly ridiculous that the announcers are talking about Grant Holmes needing a haircut when they need to be talking about how the REST of the pitching rotation (aside from him, Swellenbach and Sale) need to just either do better or just go to Gwinnet, especially the closers and mids. Bummer, De Los Santos, and Elder can just go away though. I have had it with this horrible pitching rotation and whoever is the pitching coach this year NEEDS TO BEGONE expeditiously!
Get Maddux or someone that knows how to get these pitchers back in shape, and the rest will fall in place.
If they can find another hitting coach, that would be amazing too!
I like the Orioles when they're NOT facing the Braves, but them sweeping the Braves was insane.

  8. I think there needs to be a change with the hitting coach because this team hasn't been hitting since he has taken over

  9. (Announcer): “Braves fans hoping for a rally….” (9:43)

Nah. Only hoping for the season to end already.

  10. Bro said the first time two different brothers could go number one overall in two different drafts. Let me know when two brothers go number one overall in the same draft. 😂

  11. I blame Alex Anthopoulos for the Braves woes th epast 2 years. He does not want to pay to keep proven players and the eplacements just have not filled thie shoes. Max Fried, Freddy Freeman and Dansby Swanson wanted to stay and it was probbly just a few million to dicker with. Of course, I am of the opinion if a player is making ten or fifteen million a season, how much more do they really need anyway? They are not headed fo the poorhouse anytime soon. But anyway, the Achilles heel of AlexAanthopoulos is his reluctance to spend and retain proven talent. And t just seems with the exception of Chris Sale, his alleged "acumen" has taken a ht. So this season, the Braves are going to be sellers and might again be stuck with a crop of mediocirty or players with "potential", who end up being career minor leaguers. .One thing, theOorioles certainly gave the Braves the "bird" in this series.

  12. Fans make me laugh. There's still half a season to play. Anything can happen. The only teams completely done are Colorado and the White Sox although stranger things have happened. Be positive people! All teams are good, maybe they get it together and go on a run. God Bless!

  13. SHE IS FROM OXFORD NC BLACKSTONE (STONE ANTICHRIST 1861 JOSEPH PAGAN CIVIL WAR GETTYSBURG PA 11th REGIMENT DANNY WHITE SALEM VA SA (SOUTH AMERICA RGC) SA REPASS 2ND LIEUTENANT) VA HENKEL HARRIS FURNITURE FUSS AT HER. DGC

  14. How we look 2025 we might end up missing the playoffs but don't jinx my team because anything could happen in our 162 games season

  15. Love how they said Olson was a triple short of a cycle the game prior and then Jackson was one short as well
