America’s #1 Backyard Golf Course – Spud Run
Uh, good news. I’m in just south of Columbus, Ohio. And Jeremy, the owner of Spudr Run Golf Course, you may have heard of it, said I could come out and film and show you guys that place, but we have to do it in a short window where guests have left the Airbnb there and then before the next guest arrive, we have a short window. Uh, unfortunately, um, my bags, golf clubs, camera gear, I just have my phone, uh, are not here. So, miracle number one has to be my bags have to arrive within the window, which has already begun. So, we’re waiting for that. Airlines gave me a 4-hour window. That’s not going to do it. So, hopefully that gets here. If they do, you get a video. If not, worst case scenario, we’ll take the phone and I’ll just be I don’t know what I’m gonna go off with. Maybe Jeremy has clothes for me. Hopefully, my stuff arrives. Miracle number one. Miracle number two. We got a short window. Can we do it? I don’t know. They just delivered the bags. Got them. I mean, nic time. All right. Change. Hit the road. We got to get there. We got it. [Music] If it’s not one thing, it’s another. There’s thunderstorms that could be rolling in here pretty soon. [Music] We made it. We’re at Spud Run. We don’t have a lot of time. We got to get our golf in. We got to show you the accommodations. Look at our man. Let’s check out the shop here. They’ve got YouTube on the TV here in the mill shop. Haven’t finished watching that one yet. So, spoiler alerts. [Music] The welcome committee here, huh? Huh? So, my man Jeremy built this course, Spud Run, America’s favorite backyard golf course. We have one fairway, one green, nine different tea boxes. He has like over a 100 acres of property here. You’ve got Airbnb. You have horses, horse stables, campground hookups, ponds you can swim and fish in. Talk about the ultimate golfer’s paradise. I can’t wait. Been looking forward to this for a long, long time. First hole, 310 yard par4. The question is, can we show you everything in the limited amount of time that we have? So far so good. What can we shoot at nine holes? Estimations. It’s a par 34 and it’s about 2,300 yards. It could eat you up. It could be a good day. First hole. Rock and roll. My maiden T-OT. Here we go. I think what I’m going to do is just lay up 310 yard. Just kind of work my way into the round. Small green here. Creek creek on the fairway. I don’t know the course. Play smart. In other words after all those travel debacles. Yeah, I made a bad swing. So, we’re in a good spot. Who uses a rangefinder at a backyard golf course? You do here at Spud Run. 125 left. It’s been a long day. We’ll go with the 50°ree gap wedge. I’m in the first ever for me Spud Run Sand Trap. Bunker review time. This is a legitimate sand trap. I’d hardly call this a backyard sand trap. I’ve seen this place on YouTube a little bit. The This green looks flat on TV on the screen. It is not a flat at all. It’s got some major slopes on it. So, that’s kind of cool. Bogey the first hole. Well, what can you say? Barely make your connecting flight. Your bags don’t make it. You got to wait hours for those race over here. First hole under our belt. Bogey 300 yards. Here we go. Greens are rolling. Probably 11. That’s really good. Look at this. Second hole. 495 par five. Who has a par five in their backyard? Spudron does. Blind T-OT. All right. I don’t know where to go, but we’re going to try to hug the left side and see what we can conjure up here. Why not? We’ll go for it. So, here’s my ball here. The T- box we hit from was way back there. You’re supposed to go there. I hit a kind of a good straight ball with a slight fade. So, it went here. We got to go this way. So, the good news is we’re playing a par five. So, I just got to punch out down there and hopefully get it on. The good news is the third T box is here. So, I found that. So, it’s almost like I get to play that twice. So, I’m I’m punching out with the eight iron. Good news. I saw it bouncing. This is just ridiculous. Golf cart review time. Spud run golf course. Huh? It must be done. We are rocking the Yamaha fuel injection gas powered cart. Now, my man Jeremy, he gets these things. So for that, A+. He has about four golf carts for the people here. So you’re you’re covered. Bring your buddies trip, have a great time, cruise around this property all day, all night. You do you is what uh the theme here is. You just treat it like it’s your own. You know what my favorite part about this golf cart is? It’s like those gold colored rims. Those things are cool. And I also love the fact that we have a magnet for the front bar. Sometimes that’s my rangefinder doesn’t stick there. Whoever’s in charge of that debacle, please fix that cuz we need that. We got the flip up flip down screen. It’s even got a golf cart permit. I don’t even know what that means. Didn’t know that was a thing. For backyard golf carts, golf course carts. 10 of 10. My short game is not that bad. See if we can do it. The good news is I should start learning the break right around the hole after a couple times. See how speedy they are? This is downhill. Oh my gosh. Got some work left now. Phew. Let me know in the comments below what your favorite hole is. Hopefully, we can get them all in. There’s nine. So, that was two. That’s fun. You That’s probably more fun if you hit the fairway on that one. Also, be sure to subscribe here. Thanks so much for your support. I think we’re just at 500,000 till we got there. So, let’s get a million. Huh? Let’s do that. And then subscribe to Spudrun channel as well. I’ll leave a link below for them. This guy just, you know, does his backyard golf course stuff. It’s really cool story, too. So, go binge watch all his videos. Number three is kind of where we were close to on our second shot on the last hole. 203 yard par three. Oh boy. But you got to cut it because you got the the green over here and you got to kind of cut it to the side of that tree or just right over the edge of the limb. So far, what’s epic about this place is it is secluded. Like I’m just saying it’s nearly off. Like it’s back. No one’s going to find you here. That’s what I’m saying. That went through a lot of trees. It’s good thing I’m not playing a match right now. There’s a definite homec course advantage when you’re here. I don’t have that shortsided myself. Goal here, give yourself a putt, not a bunker shot. We know it’s fast going this way. That thing was racing, too. That’s why it’s critical to give yourself a putt, not a bunker shot, cuz these have much higher percentage chance of going in. Saved bar here. It could have been an 11. Number four, 243 par4. Riskreward. 243. I got 243 in me. I like that. I just got to carry that creek. And we think we are good. It’s kind of like the same look as the first hole, just a lot shorter. And it makes you gamble a lot more. Fortunately, I like gambling. I’m going to go right at it with a little cut. I don’t mind if we’re in the bunker. And that’s better than the creek. See, I’d rather have a bunker shot than a creek shot. But more than any of those, I like lucky breaks. My ball bounced before the creek, over the creek, just off the green. So, we just got a little chip shot. Could have been ugly, but it’s pretty. Look at this. I mean, he built this creek here. Obviously, there was water running through the property, but he did all the drain. He did everything. Everything. And this, look at that little guy. That’s our ninth hole. So, we’ll get there soon. But then you could just hang out in there forever and hit little shots down to the green. Just like hang out all day. So, we’ll show you that. We’ll show you the Airbnb in the way hopefully I only I can really do for you. Show you everything about that place that you would experience if you were to come here. First chip of the day. Yeah. And a bunker shot. First chip. Is that good? First birdie of the day. Oh, flag stick review. solid for uh Jeremy putting the little marker be front, middle, back pin. It’s up there. That’s what that means. Bud run. Huh? What do you think of the flag? Number five, 90 yard par three. I love that. Every course should have a super short par three and a long one. Backyard course, front yard course, it doesn’t matter. The question is, can I put it where I’ve already had a putt? I love little wedge shots. How to repair your ball mark on the green. Step number one, mark your ball. That way, you don’t accidentally bump it. Step two, you see this? That’s too big. They’re okay, but they’re not the best thing to use. So, get rid of that. Something like this works perfectly. Take it from the outside, work it in right there. Go around it. See that? You’re going around, pulling that in like so. Tap it down with your putter like this. Now, that’ll heal nicely. The grass will grow in, the brown will get covered up. You’ll be good. And if you do that properly, then when you put your ball down, you’ll never miss your birdie putts. Oh, it didn’t break. Look at it go. So, the Airbnb is ready. Like, it’s cleaned up. Like Jeremy’s wife knocks that out. she gets it all spiffed up for the next guests who are in route. So, what we’ll do is finish up our nine holes, enjoy the golf course, and then sneak into the Airbnb, do our thing, and leave hopefully without a trace. Sixth hole, par five, 473 yards. Um, look at this. Yes, it’s as skinny as it looks. You know, I I’ve played some backyard courses. Most of them are just like pitching putts and they’re awesome, but this one is like has its own fairway. And I thought every hole would kind of look the same, but every hole is incredibly unique and different. And you know, that’s the beauty of being able to do stuff like this. And he he did it pretty well. That’s cool. You got to cut it way more. I went through the fairway up on the little There’s a little hill back there that I That’s where my ball finished by that uh brown stripe in the edge of the hill. Hopefully it looked cool going through the trees. It did. From here, I’m safe in the grass. I’m just going to punch out and get on in three and try to make another birdie. Say this grass is gnarly. 110. Third shot. Par five. Going with the 54 degree wedge. It’s feeling like that thunderstorm might be rolling in. Yes, I’m below the hole finally. What do you think in? Is it going in or not? Uphill. We know the break. I think we’re doing good. I haven’t heard any thunder or anything. It does feel I’ll tell you what. I mean, it’s really cool out here. It feels a lot like the movie Groundhog’s Day. Groundhog Day. Groundhog or Groundhogs with that movie. It’s kind of like the same thing. What? Just walking on and off the green is like the same thing over and over again. It’s cool. It’s surreal. But every tea box and second shot is very different. So, it’s only right in this zone here. Walking on and off the green. We’re going to do it again in the next hole. Seventh hole, par three through this skinny deal downhill, 110 yards. How exciting is this? I’m up for the challenge. Just going to knock down 54. Here we go. You got it like six feet. Here’s my question. Maybe you can answer this. Help me with this. How come Jeremy has such an incredible golf course in his backyard that he built himself? Legitimate green. You could not tell the difference between this green and a green at any golf course unless you’re at like, you know, Pinehurst or Guster or something like that. But it’s a legitimate green, legitimate fairway. Everything is spectacular. How come he could do this? But some of the worst courses I’ve been to in America can’t even do anything. And they’re in the business of golf. I haven’t had this putt. Here we go. Let’s make it. I did not see that. See, this time I parked over here, so I was walking off a different way. It is surreal, though. I love that. Two more holes. Think we’re going to get the golf in. 8 345 par4. Only a couple tea boxes have uh artificial mats just because it’s under the trees and doesn’t get any sunlight. So, grass doesn’t really grow. We got to be smart. So, we’re going to hit an iron down there in the fairway and then I’m going to put it where I’m going to make a putt. Hopefully. Wow. It’s a good quality mat, too. All right. A forearm. We’re going stinger. Stinger all the way. Right through there. You got it. Here we go. I hit it good. I’m on that sidehill again. I probably should have lasered it or something. 85. I just heard some thunder, too. Here we go. Try to put it where we know the putt. Right. Just under the hole. All right. So, I want 80 80 yard. Okay. I’ll take it. We kind of got the same putt. We just had that weird one that I totally misread last time. I’m not going to do the misread again. Yeah. Just a little longer. We got it. We got You got it. See that wind’s whipping up. Storm’s brewing. Man, it turns hard right there at the hole. We’re still even par. One birdie, one bogey through eight. We have one to go. It’s kind of the coolest hole here, too. And then we got to do the kind of the ninth hole experience, right? That’s what we have to do before we hit the Airbnb. You got to see that. So, we do the ninth hole, then the ninth hole experience, then zip over and uh, you know, do our thing. So you can see all that ninth hole. Look at this. This is just the coolest joint scorecard memorabilia. America’s number one backyard golf hole. Then you come here. You’re going to hit from here right down there to the green. And then this is the coolest hangout spot. Look at that. Huh? Leave something cool. Hang out. Barbecue grill chair. Wash your balls. 55 yards. Playing like 45. Just short. Spin her up. Freezing the way a little. All right, we know that putt. Will we birdie the last hole to go one under? First time through spud run. Barely. We squeaked her in. Now we go back here and do the ninth hole experience. Show you what that looks like. Now at the ninth hole, the experience. These balls may or may not be here. They’re like kind of half golf balls, foamy. You don’t want to damage green by hitting your ball, but uh bring some of these and you can chill out in this cool spot. Get some shade, hang out, couple cocktails. But we’re gonna see if we can’t get a hole in one with our basket of balls because then we got to go the air. We We They’re coming. We got a limited time. Let’s go. That’s in. That’s in. Get it. It’s my kind of spot right there. So, what do you think of the Hack Shack? This place is the place to be. All right, as promised, we’ve got a just a short little window to show you and top off this video with that Airbnb. Let’s see if we can get in and out of there before the guests check in. Rock and roll. Welcome to the Spud Run Airbnb. If you stay here, you’re in for a grand treat. But book it because it books up quick. [Music] Glad we got in this place. This is the kitchen that you would be enjoying when you book your stay and play at Spudrun. Oh, lookie lookie. Look at that. The owner’s wife takes care of this place. Please let me know if there’s anything you need, Kim. Look at this. A Kubano, some coffees there, and uh some energy bites. Thank you, Mrs. Spud Run. [Music] Oh my gosh. I think these are for the people coming after. Put that back. Just thank you. All right. Leave that. Oh, we can’t leave that. I drank out of it. All right. We got to take this with me. This is where you hang out after a long days on the golf course. This is cozy. I figured I’m going to go for the energy bites, too. I I feel like I already tainted the fridge in general, so I might as well just keep everything. I mean, hey, who’s ever coming after if they don’t see if it if they never saw it, did it even exist? Oh, these are delicious. Mrs. Spud Run. All right. I like these. Oh, I can’t get too cozy here. Come on. Look at that washer dryer for you. First class all the way. Downstairs bedroom. That’s out this bed. Oh, that’s nice. Yeah, I like this. It’s not too soft and it’s not too firm. It’s like perfection. Oh, there’s more. There’s another bedroom. There’s two more bedrooms. [Music] Just going to make it look like I was never here. That’s pretty good. See, I like this. It’s like a little desk area. It looks homemade. Hand homemade sounds cheap. Handmade. It sounds like the premiere. Yes. I took my shoes off for this one. Oh, the master bedroom. This is beautiful. It’s even got a cure egg coffee machine in the master suite. These hardwood panels on the walls and ceiling. Even a little balcony to chill out. Yeah, I could get used to this. Wow, I like this nice balcony here. Oh, and the sun’s right there. Get some fresh air. This also looks handmade. The bal the whole house does. Oh, hello. That looks lovely. Technically, I’m not much of a rule follower and I know you’re going to ask how are the facilities? So, I just have to report back. So um just it’s like for the sake of just being thorough this is this is for you [Music] rose hips shampoo. Well it’s herbal essences but rose hip scent. No one will know. No one will know. Yeah, I hope not. I don’t What do I do with town? [Music] No, no, no. Wasn’t them. They’re supposed to be here pretty soon, though. So, we got to hurry. We obviously saw this from the balcony fire pit. if we have time. But he’s got this uh jug of fuel. I’m just assuming this is what it’s for, right? Oh, okay. I’m not really experienced in these matters. This could be the end of Mr. Short Game. All right, we got a little something going. Look at that. Huh? Little bit. I mean, you get it. Fire, fire pit, the experience, hanging out under the stars. There is not another home. I can’t even feel another presence of anybody. H Oh, look at this. Are you kidding me? No way. Oh my gosh. It’s got a waterfall, lighting, jets, 104° it’s getting to. We got to get in. You know that. All right, let me swim around in here for a couple minutes. Let you know what’s up. [Music] Okay, I’m already sold out on this jacuzzi thing. I’ll leave links below for everything. Uhoh, I hear people coming. [Music]

Spud Run has officially made it! Being showcased on Mr Short Games channel is absolutely fantastic!!!!! Side note: we are booked up for 2025. We will start reviewing 2026 reservations this November.
Who has the second best backyard golf course ?? love your video review on this beautiful resort
I think Matt was the next guest.
Brilliant idea! See any BIGFOOTS around? 🦶🏻🦶🏻
Spud run!! Can’t wait to go back
Looks like most of the holes you played are the same green just different angles, go figure, had to have been a fun experience and kudo's to the builder what a track!
your videos are NEVER a dull moment! 😃😃
To answer your question as to why Jeremy can do this and other courses can’t? Because Jeremy loves what he does, where others do not. Once the drive is gone, their courses fail. Jeremy will never fail, it’s not in his DNA!👊🏽
Epic par on hole 3
Bravo
Congrats on the 500k subs.
😂camp crystal lake secluded
Your comedic timing is cracking me up dude 😂
Spud Run is a genius.
He only has one green to keep! Seriously though, it comes down to those worst courses being poorly run, too much traffic on the course and potentially lack of or expensive water. One of the nicest Munis I play here in Colorado has 3 nine holes and during the week each one closes for a day, so in the middle of the week 18 is always an option while one course "heals".
@spudrungolf looks amazing!!
I wonder what the record is for most 9’s played in a day. Great content!
This Airbnb is 1 hour from me. I believe it’s The Woods at Cairn Creek. Being able to play the course come with the Airbnb or is it extra? Also can you play as much as much as you want during your stay?
Brilliant place, brilliant video, hell ! some of your golf was brilliant too !! Cheers.
Wow. Such a cool course and the concept of it. Great job to Spud Run. Thanks for the video MSG. Was seriously awesome. Gotta plan a trip there now. LOL
i dont bay your tee shot on third hole. It hit trees several times and you find it in rather good spot? I go to sleep. All best!
I really hope the last part was a joke, and you didn’t steal someone else’s treats left by Mrs. Jeremy!!! That’s a low move bro, plz tell me it was a joke
Awesome video – thanks for showcasing what an amazing job the owner and Mrs. Spud Run worked so hard to create for others to enjoy . Hope many many people will come to enjoy the experience that Mr. Short Game just showed all of us . North Idaho gives you a thumbs up ! :o)
13:00 missed your pocket there lmao
