The HATE is Out of Control towards Grant Horvat!

Oh boy, the hate I guess I don’t know how else you say it. The coming toward Grand Horvat is extreme and is it warranted or not. Le let’s look at some of the stuff that has been posted. Now, Grant posted on his ex account that everything you heard that he wasn’t going to play. And he has on his account. I mean, look at his ex account here. He’s got, this is what’s interesting, 48,000 followers on his ex account. But you go to his post where he mentions how he’s not playing and that has 8.5 million views and 2800 comments. That’s that’s heavy. That’s way above his norm on X. So, it’s a hot topic. And here’s what Wesley Bryan had to say. Good for that dude sticking up for his guy. Dear traditional golf media writers, stay away from YouTube golf. What are y’all doing to Grant Horvat? Is a joke. Also, there’s no reason y’all are weighing in. Okay. And then he says, “Upon further review. This was a little over-the-top. I’m sorry. This is not the proper way to grow the game. Everyone is welcome, even traditional golf media. I was emotional. Sorry.” So, he he said what he said and then he pulled it back and apologized. Yet, credit to him, he didn’t take down his original post. He’s like, “Hey, stay away from my guy. You come at my guy, we’re going to come after you.” And good. Like, is is that a good thing? Here are some of the comments surrounding Grant Horvat’s decision to not play in a PGA Tour event, and then I’m going to give my analogies of what this is like, of, you know, why you wouldn’t play in this event either. and and and I think it’s legitimate. Hear me out. But here’s some of the comments. I love Gran’s contents, but what a blinking idiot. Literally, every one of your fans would love to see how you perform in a PGA event. Would they? Unfortunately, I’m unable to profit from this directly. Kind of a shot at Grant that since he can’t make money, he’s not doing it. Not a knock, Grant, but this was a huge opportunity. I mean, it goes on and on. This is a bad decision. One guy, okay, you made the right call. Another guy, Nick S, how dumb. Just play m the cut and then go back to making content. Your channel won’t suffer. What’s the long game here? Um, Grant, go play the tournament, dude. It’s just a PGA short tour. I’m sure nobody will care if you film or not. I don’t know why you still wouldn’t play. You have to be joking, right? Uh, if you’re worried about your game stacking up, just say it. This is a lame excuse. Basically saying it’s an excuse that he’s giving us and he’s not being honest. I disagree personally. There’s a million ways to make great content from this experience. You got bad advice on this. I mean, these comments go on and on and on and on. Thousands of comments, mostly on the side that he’s making a huge mistake. Even Scotty Sheffller said, “You should play, therefore you should play.” There’s more to it than just that. I think with Wesley’s comment directed toward those traditional golf media writers and traditional golf and a lot of people who watch golf or dream of golf and we let’s say armchair quarterbacks who play all think that hey if I worked hard enough you know I could make it or I’m pretty good sometimes maybe my game could stack up and I could play on the or or we just fantasize that we can make it out on the PGA tour or we wish we could. Of all the sports out there, this was the one where I think we could have a chance. Maybe so, maybe not. So, some people dream and think that being invited and having an opportunity to play on the PGA Tour is the ultimate experience. That that would be a dream come true. Well, okay. Well, would it would you do it if somebody gave you a sponsor’s exemption for you to go play on the PGA tour? I mean, would you do it at your level? Not at grand at your level. Would you do it? Maybe your dream is to drive an F1 uh be in an F1 race and somebody says, “Hey, here you go. You drive go-karts pretty good. We’re gonna put you in the race. Here’s a sponsor’s exemption to race.” Would you do it? I mean, I I wouldn’t. That’d be that’d be nuts. And I think if same thing, hey, here’s a sponsor exemption to go play in an NFL football game. You get to be the running back in the next game. Would I wouldn’t do it. I get killed. I think we would all do that. So, I think just because it’s somebody’s dream to be in the PGA tour doesn’t mean it’s everybody’s dream to be on the PGA tour. And just because he can’t film, I don’t think it’s a recipe or gives anybody the right to say, “Oh, he’s entitled. People are saying he’s entitled and therefore you can’t bring your selfie stick out there, so you’re not going to show up. I don’t it is it that it’s none of that. You have fans. They don’t care if you put content on. They want to see how you stack up.” I like Grant. I’m a fan. I would say I’m a fan of YouTube Golf. I do not need to see, nor do I want to see how Grant Horvette stacks up against professional golfers. I don’t need to see that. That’s like, hey, when you see, think about that recent golf fight on the golf course when the when you finally saw the two guys, you were like, uhoh, one dude’s getting beat down, right? You know how they stack up and you know what the outcome’s going to be. You don’t need to see it. You know it’s yet we know Grant will miss the cut. What’s the point of that? I don’t need to see it. For people to talk all the trash and just bash him for not accepting something that they think is the holy grail of golf is it’s kind of in my opinion like I don’t look at it that way. Like I don’t know if I I would I don’t think I would accept a sponsor’s exemption into a PGA tour event. Like what does that do for you? Like is it a lifetime opportunity? That’s what we have to look at. What do you get out of it? What does it get? Not that you have to get something and you got to get paid. Forget that. It’s what what does it achieve? Oh, I got to play. You get to tell other people that you played in the PGA Tournament. Oh, look what I got. I got to do this. It’s the same like what I think is a lifetime opportunity is oh I got to play at Oakmont not I got to play in the US Open if I qualified that’d be different then it’s a lifetime dream you obviously put in the hard work the effort and it paid off and you got in on your own playing abilities but a lifetime dream for me oh I would love to play Augusta National in prime Augusta National condition that would be a dream come true I don’t need to play in the Masters if I had that dream. Like, so if Grant has the dream, if his ultimate dream is to play in a PGA Tour event, he would grind and work his way up to being at the level where he would either take a sponsor’s exemption regardless of what he gets or doesn’t get to do and or he would work his tail off to get there. So in that case, you would take it. But he doesn’t do that. He does something different. So his dream is to film at a PGA tour event with him play. Or maybe one of his dreams would be that. And so he doesn’t get to do that. So he he’s like, “No, I’m I’m just not going to go because I’m not a competitive golfer. That’s not what I do. So I’m not going to do.” And how about this? And since he doesn’t get to do what he dreams of doing, he gave it away so that somebody else who potentially has that dream and that ability can now have that spot. Where’s that ar where? No one’s mess talking about that. No one’s posting about, wow, he gave the spot up. Somebody else gets it. Somebody else gets the play. No, we don’t think about that. It’s always, what are you doing? How dumb are you? That’s the worst decision in the history of the world. I think it’s a great decision personally and the hate people just armchair quarterback keyboard warrior their way, you know, into the algorithm to try to send their opinion based on in my you read it. It’s like you’re not seeing the full picture here. So my plea is that let’s just look at the whole thing, the whole picture before we just kind of bash somebody for not doing it. Guess what? Somebody whose dream to be on the PGA tour gets in potentially. And him who makes YouTube videos gets to go make a YouTube video, spend that time doing what he does. So a lot of hate out there. Of course, it’s social media, it’s the internet, that’s how it works. and you put yourself out there, things are going to come both ways. Unfortunately, a lot of negative on this one for Mr. Horvat, but hey, he’s making great content. He’s a great player. I don’t need to see him play in a PGA Tour event, but I like seeing him play with PGA Tour players and team up and play against them in different series and matches and 2v2s and things like that. That’s fun in that light-hearted um let’s say creator classic stuff that we like this other stuff where he can’t get to film in the way that makes a cool YouTube video. We wouldn’t his content wouldn’t be probably what we’re used to seeing. So, good job, Grant. Congrats for doing and sticking true to who you are and what you want to do. Leave your comments and thoughts below. See you soon.

Can’t believe how many negative coments Grant Horvat is getting for his decision to not play in the Barracuda Championships.

  1. He’s a decent golfer, but on YouTube he can redo as many shots as he wants and nobody knows. He would get embarrassed big time playing in a PGA event and might cost him viewers.

  2. I don't know Grant Horvat, I have noticed that he has associated with people connected with LIV and I have zero interest with anyone taking Blood $$ from Saudi Arabia. My 2 cents.

  3. Up to Grant what he does. His life his choice, no one else’s. Leave the kid alone

  4. I’m not sure why this is controversial. GH is a YT golfer and if he can’t document the experience in a meaningful way then why do it?

  5. The pga is trying to set him up,they want him to fail.He is taking away viewers. Grant is just what golf needs.Steve keep it up the great work😊

  6. I like Grant's content, and Grant's current business model is YouTube Golf. That is where he makes his money. The PGA took away from his personal business model to support himself financially. Yes, if I was given the opportunity to play a PGA tournament, I would do it in a heartbeat. But my lifestyle and business model is not videography. I support his decision.

  7. People are dumb as hell lol grant wanted to film and also is probably siding with Wesley when pga suspended him. Cannot believe ppl are bashing him. Bash the pga if anything

  8. The bashing is just dumb. So if a pro golfer rejected a chance to shoot a YouTube video on a popular channel would we call them out for rejecting a chance to interact with a bigger fan base 🤷🏼‍♂️

  9. I heard Wesley saying that Grant is not a competetive golfer, because he doesn't like how his body feels when he's under that kind of pressure or something like that. If he feels like that than there is no reason for him to play just to please a bunch of internet trolls. Also he's made himself a living on posting his stuff on YouTube, so if he's not allowed to film and post his stuff on YouTube, there is no reason for him to play. He's better off not playing on the PGA Tour and instead shooting a video that he can post on the internet to make money. And as MrShort Game said, since he doesn't have a desire to play on the PGA Tour it's better to give that opportunity to someone who's dream is to actually play on tour. I'm all behind Grants decision not to play.

  10. Grant has no idea how many of us would die to be able to play in a PGA event. Oh you can't record it? well good news bud, they have live coverage that I think your fans 100% would've tuned in to watch. That's so dumb man!

  11. his decision makes sense guys.

he’s not a D1 player waiting for his shot.

he makes money from youtube, life changing money.

that means if PGA wouldn’t let him film he is essentially wasting his time

his goal isn’t to go pro, it’s to make youtube content for a profit

while it would be fun for everyday people to play in PGA, this is a guy who plays scrambles with Scottie Scheffler and is friends with Phil Mickelson

i don’t think there’s many courses in this world grant can’t play, no need to add stress of spectators etc that PGA brings.

also, if he played bad, that would hurt his credibility

  12. He can do whatever he wants. He’ll regret it later and they won’t give him another chance. Just play.

  13. I'm 38 and love watching Grant! Killer content and amazing production. I fully support his choice. PGA made a mistake.

  14. Nothing but respect for him choosing to do whatever he wants……..totally disagree with you comment about him not making the cut though!! If hes playing like he is capable of he is making the cut 100 percent

  15. It also might be a leverage play for future negotiations with the PGA Tour. Look at what LIV is offering these creators with stuff like the Duels. You shouldn’t let the PGA Tour get all the benefits of the business relationship.

  16. Grant simply stood his ground on what he has always said…
He has always said he doesn't like the pressure cooker situation of the PGA tour.
    I Respect it.

  17. Exactly right! Grant shouldn’t play. the pga is all about control a non profit that makes millions upon millions from its players that are treated as 1099 independent contractors but yet they want to control them like w2 employees

  18. All you have to do is watch Grant’s content. He is always playing with the likes of Wesley Bryan, Phil Mickelson, Bryson Dechambeau and Many others. Grant could play in the tour if he dedicated the time but he “chooses” not to because he has said he enjoys what he has decided to do versus what everyone seems to think he should do. Kudos to Grant for staying the course.

  19. When you have fake pros demanding things or declining things cause they think they now have a big incfluence. It kills why ppl liked them.
Be thankful and not think you are bigger cause you have a huge amateur follwing.

  20. He's literally said multiple times that he doesn't overly enjoy playing in tournaments because it gets his emotions all messed up. He's found a spot where he loves playing golf. If you know Grant's content, you know tournament golf isn't where his heart is. I can't believe any of his subscribers or followers think any different

  21. I enjoy grants content these other people gotta get a life and quit worrying about what everybody else is doing and worry about what they’re doing. It might be an old adage, but it’s very very true. Grant head up keep plugging forward. You’re doing great.

  22. He has every right to decline to play.. The rationale for not playing was interesting. I suspect he will have limited opportunities going forward, perhaps with the LIV tour.

  23. Grant is the first person to say that he doesn't have the skills to play on the pga tour. He's a good golfer, but he's not a tour caliber.Player. And he's the first person to say that.

  24. Grants not stupid. He did what's best for his brand, NOT PGA's brand. It was the right call. Grant's dream was never to play on the pga tour. He has explained this in videos that he decided pretty early on he didn't want to deal with that grind. I watch way more Youtube golf than I do PGA or LIV. That format is old an outdated.

  25. Funny I got to play oakmont this year course was so hardddd my buddy who played Koran ferry shot 4over there’s levels to this. Also grant came up as a streamer it’s pgas loss for them not letting him record he wants to bring his space in to a space that’s losing fans

  26. Geez this is a stupid debate. Look I have no desire to move to Hollywood to become and actor but if by some chance a director offered me a one time chance to be in a movie I wouldn’t say no because I’d prefer no spoilers when I see it in the theater.

  27. I don’t think it is as much hate as it is jealousy. There’s so many that are jealous of Grants achievements that they can’t stop talking about him.

  28. Here is the way I see it. Grant is a GREAT GREAT player. But he doesn’t have the capacity to go low consistently like the pros do. His game just isn’t there. He is probably a solid plus 1 or plus 2 but to be around on tour, you need to be at least a plus 6 to plus 12.

And Grant is a Plus 2 on very generous golf courses that don’t even compare to PGA tour level courses.

I think between him realizing where his game is at compared to the pros, and not being able to film, this was the right decision.

Unlike gay boy Micha Morris who calls himeself a “pro” and probably gets pegged by his wife, Grant is way more humble.
