Scottie Scheffler and Tiger Woods are once again being mentioned in the same breath as the world number one nabbed his second major of the year at The Open.

Scheffler’s current dominance is akin to that of Woods in his prime and it’s only natural the comparisons are coming along.

Scheffler himself has laughed off the Woods talk, dismissing the suggestions and effectively saying Tiger is in a league of his own.

“I still think they’re a bit silly. Tiger won, what, 15 majors? This is my fourth. I just got one-fourth of the way there. I think Tiger stands alone in the game of golf. He was inspirational for me growing up. He was a very, very talented guy, and he was a special person to be able to be as good as he was at the game of golf,” Scheffler said after winning at Royal Portrush.

Nevertheless, one record of Woods’ that Scheffler may have his eye on is his streak as world number one.

Scheffler currently sits at 114 straight weeks as the world’s best player, while Woods managed a total of 683 weeks as number one, with his longest streak coming in at 281.

Now, current PGA Tour player Michael Kim has given his thoughts on if it’s a record Scheffler can break.

With Scottie Scheffler playing so well right now, he’s going to be compared to Woods so much and this particular stat is an obvious one to point out.

At the moment, Scottie is clear of the rest behind him but with so much talent on the PGA Tour right now, staying as top dog for another 160-plus weeks is going to take some doing.

Indeed, responding to a question posed on social media, PGA Tour star Michael Kim gave an abrupt answer to the question.

What Michael Kim has said about Scottie Scheffler

Everyone in golf is praising Scheffler right now and the players on the PGA Tour are no different.

With Michael Kim, he loves engaging with fans on social media and he went back and forth with a few in giving his take on Scheffler’s game.

When asked if he felt The Open would be the hardest major for Scheffler to win, Kim brushed it off.

No, his game is so complete, it doesn’t matter what course

As Kim says here, the current world number one is simply too good as a total package and he can win at any course.

Come the US Open next year, Scheffler will be in the zone and right now, you’d not bet against him completing that coveted Grand Slam.
