Welcome back to my channel. So, today I have a new girl. This is our first time meeting ever, and we’re going to do a nine-hole match. We are out at Lost City. This is I’m Cararissa. Yeah, this is Cararissa. So, you guys will get to know her more in the cart, but we’re going to just play match play. This is a par five. And I feel like right at that like big maybe. Nice shot. Thank you. What is your carry distance usually? When I hit this one good, it’s like 270. Oh, it’s so far. Where are you from? I’m from Hawaii. But you said it so cool. Is that how you’re supposed to say it? I mean, technically it’s like Hawaii, but no one really says that. So, people from there usually say Hawaii. I played college golf at Florida International down in Miami. And now I’m out of Pinehurst. I don’t even know where my ball is. Like, I’m going to need to look for it. Unfortunately, it’s 226. What do you like when you’re carrying your 3-wood? Well, like how far would you say you hit it? I think it carries like 220 usually. Oh, yeah. There you go. Oh, nice. That did not draw in there. My last year I literally there were multiple rounds where I hit like four greens. One of my friends told me that once you get past college level, anyone that decides to keep playing is a little psychotic. And I think they’re right. No, I think especially golf, like it’s so inconsistent and wishy-washy. Like, for you to keep trying, there has to be something a little bit wrong with you. What did you hit from back there? How far do you have? Um, I had 106. I took off my 50 a little bit. I also have P790s, which are like bent to go further. Oh, really? So, I think my nine would be a normal pitching wedge. I have the Tacomaos, and like they go far, but I feel the best thing with them is like they’re forgiving. So, if I hit it bad, they still go kind of like decent. We’re birdie. Sit. I think it’s better to practice that way. Otherwise in a tournament you’re shaking over like that’s how it feels like in GGG’s we’ll have like the littlest putt and like people miss it so it gets kind of crazy. Yeah, that’s a lot of pressure. All right guys, all square through two. We’re going on to hole three now. Par four now. That’s good. That is a good line. Maybe you can go like a little. Is there maybe one tip that really helped you or like something that really stuck with you from your mental coach? I played my first professional event on the second day. I was three over on the front nine. I thought I was going to throw a tantrum and I remembered that my mental coach said that you can’t be angry while you’re skipping. Okay. And I kid you not, I skipped the whole back nine. I looked like an actual lunatic, but I was four under on the back. Oh, you were like skipping? Like I was skipping down the fairway. Okay. Yeah. No. I You have to try it. I went from three over to four under in nine holes. Are you serious? Yeah. I don’t even know if I know how to skip. Like I could try. We can skip right now. 87 yards. I think I’m just going to hit a little 52. I’m trying to change my swing actually like get more compression. Oh, bye. Fade. That looks fine. Okay. I think you’re right next to the hole. It was a great skip. Change like your whole vibe and I found a happy song. So I started skipping and singing party in the USA. It shows a lot of like resilience cuz there’s people who would like do that but still feel bad. You know what I mean? So has it been raining here? We’re like, but I feel like golf girls are so pickmies cuz we’re all just like I only play with guys. But it’s like so true. We’re both for birdie here. We both have a good look. Pars and a couple bogeies and maybe like a birdie or two. Like, I haven’t shot anywhere near like low low underpar in so long. It’s very casual golf though. I unfortunately am very Jordan Speed style. Like I’ll have like two doubles and three bogeies and somehow come out even par. It’s exhausting. I would love to be a little more consistent. Par five. I hit it where I wanted to. I’m very intrigued by the whole Hawaiian culture because I feel it’s like another little world cuz it’s so far. Like what’s the flight time from Miami? It’s usually two 5-hour flights more or less depending on the direction, but it could be closer to 12. It really just depends. And then you have layovers. It It’s usually like a full day of travel. And so moving from Hawaii to Miami, like was it such a different culture? Yeah. No, I wanted to go cuz I didn’t think it would be that different cuz I’m like, “Oh, it’s warm.” No one speaks Spanish where I’m from. Yeah, I was not ready for that. I still didn’t learn. But I do love the warm weather. I feel like I don’t want to like invest the time to learn Spanish because I’m sure there’s going to be like some AI chip that’s like that’s going to translate everything soon. Do you know what I mean? Are you going to put it in your head? No, but I’m just saying like I feel like there’s going to be some kind of like device where I’m like, “Okay, dang. I just wasted all this time learning Spanish and that’s what you thought throughout your whole childhood. Okay, here we go. I’m just going to hit a little sixiron up there and uh great. Thank you. Like do you would you just go for stuff or when I was like 18 19 every single time and my coach had to like talk me off of things. He’s like Chris you have to be smarter. And then I lost a lot of confidence in my ball striking like junior senior year. So I’m just now getting back to that point. Okay. I’m just now getting back to that point which is really fun. So basically I feel like I need to make a birdie right now because she has an eagle putt. So I have like 60 yards. It’s a little downwind front pin. I mean this isn’t like the best spot ever. So, I’m just going to like take a 60 and just try to make a bird. Like, I feel like I need to do that. So, here we go. Please go. All right. That’s definitely makeable. It’s makeable. That’s really impressive that you made it this far after starting that late. Thank you. So, I graduated high school and I was still shooting like high8s. Like, I sucked. And so I went over to Florida Golf Coast and I was just a regular student and the the golf coach there was just I don’t know she did not want me on the team and then randomly like 2 years later I just got a full ride to Barry. So funny that you know Matt and Hunter. No. So the camera guy at her school he was also the camera guy at my school and he was kind of my homie. I love Hunter. I feel like you can tell between like a legit player or not with the course uh the etiquette. I just think if you’re not kind to the course then it’s not kind to you. All right. Eagle putt. Like she genuinely loves golf just when there’s so much like external pressure, which I think is kind of how everyone works. Like you you got to do it for yourself. See, but it was not like, for example, like I love playing YouTube matches cuz like I can talk and like be just, you know what I mean? Like I think tournaments it’s like so serious and so quiet. Like it’s just a totally different like vibe. Yeah. How far did you get? 182. Okay. What are you hitting? I have a sixiron which normally goes like 175. I’m hoping the wind will push it to 182. You know, I feel that like I was telling you, I definitely struggled with hitting greens a lot and I feel the short game is definitely not I had full swing off the tea yips and I got really good at punch shots. I know. That’s what happens like when you’re not hitting greens like you just learn how to scramble. It all works out. I don’t know what I’m shooting right here. This hole is definitely long. Okay. Like I bend everything and it just like for some reason was going right next to the hole every time. My coach would always say he loves thin shots cuz they always go straight. No, but like there’s a different kind of bin. Like you know those one bins that are just like ricocheting over the green? Like not those but like just the little thin iron that still work out. Honestly, like I was nervous in the beginning, but I think I just need to remember that it’s still just golf every single time. Like golf does not change. Okay. 101. What did you get? Like I had 106 from back there. We might knock down a pitching wedge. I know. That’s kind of what I’m leaning towards. I wish I could have gone. I know. I was like, that would have worked out so well if you were there. in your Fourth of July video was so cute. That was on number 10, right? Yeah. I shot even par last week on Pinehurst number one and two days later I went out on number 10 and I’m pretty sure I shot like 85 really at best. It was a bad day. So, this is getting dicey.
