The PGA TOUR returns to Tahoe Mountain Club in California this week for the Barracuda Championship with plenty of up-and-coming talent alongside established names teeing it up. One of the most notable being Max Homa who returns to Truckee for the first time since 2017 after a T5 finish in his last start at the John Deere Classic as he looks to improve his standing in the FedExCup. Defending champion Nick Dunlap became the first player to win as both an amateur and professional in the same season last year. There’s plenty on the line for Adam Hadwin this week, who finds himself at No. 129 in the FedExCup standings. Former champions teeing up this week include Erik van Rooyen, Chez Reavie and Andrew Putnam.

post 16 points on the day, 37 for the week. Ryan Gerard, the co-leader in that final group coming into the final round. A hot start early with a birdie on the second, getting him to 36 points, one backard, who’s trying to win for the first time in his career on the PGA Tour. Reached the par five, third and two for Eagle and five points. Gerard, his mini driver that he’s going with here, that helping wind here, he can get close to this green. He took a big lash at that and got a nice forward kick. This thing is chasing hard close to that front trap. Very surprised this ball chased out this far. He’s going to have to land this ball short of that ridge and chase it up that slope. Very similar to what we saw from Eric Vanroy in the last group. It’s just see it the speed Gerard. Another bad part of the green to putt from. Yeah. Rolls in another one. I would say he’s made three great putts in this front nine already. Much better line here on the 10th. Birdie putt on the way. Gerard tick this little putt as it comes down the hill. Gerard lighting it up. Yeah, we’ve seen a number of T- shots go up that right hand side and some of those overhanging limbs up the right catch the T- shots. That’s not going to be the case here. How about that response from Gerard? Perfect lie over here off the down slope. 285 total and Ryan Gerard buries it. Going to be in play. A good swing there. Yeah, and he needed that good swing there just to kind of calm the nerves after a couple bogeies. Gerard ready to rock. What a timely drive that was when he’s just made two bogeies. Now that ball away from 152. Yeah. And settled right back in. And what a great golf shot. Continuing to get better. That’s going to be a quick little putt, but only from maybe five, six feet. George, they can erase those two bogeies minus two points in a hurry. One birdie make would get those two points back. You know, you tell yourself that as a player, but hard to do. Execute the right time. Oh, and he does. Does center. Yeah, great view from in behind. Beautiful stroke there. Started that just on the right edge. Gerard the leader 15th. Well, I’m up the fairway. I got to suspect this is the mini driver here. just over 300 yards. Runs out on that left hand side of that penalty area. He’s not even looking at it. He hit it so good. Fairway. That was from 210 yards. He’s digging right over the top of the flag stick. Well, and that’s what he had to do. I mean, obviously it’s easy to say, but if you’re going to air anywhere, you air long, especially when you got a six-point lead. That continues to get better. Two putt birdie there would extend that lead slightly. Critical lag putt for the leader, Gerard. Four birdies and an eagle to this point, but that’s a miss. A three putt par on 15. Curious BR is wants to avoid the bunkers. Not to bring in a big number here. Doing just that. More than likely it’s going to be in that collection area down the left hand side just left of the green. Yeah, pretty easy pitch here. [Music] [Applause] How about that? What a beauty. Given the stakes in the moment should be routine. Gerard able to salvage a par on the 17th. Would say he’s trending in the right direction. Baby all important T-shot here and that’s going to be just fine. This gap wedge looking a little left of the flag stick. Solid strike up the left hand side. Should find the putting surface. [Music] on that front third of the green for birdie in the win. What you dream about all those hours practicing Gerard two putts from here to get his first win on the PGA Tour. Gerard has his breakthrough at the Barracuda. Ladies and gentlemen, that concludes our tournament Barracuda Championship. Request that you please. First win on the PGA Tour coming in Truckucky, California. 47 points for the week. Two Eagles in the final round. Grammy wins by three. Yeah, he just said, Ryan, that not easy, but you made it. Given your recent play, you’ve been playing so well. Did you see this win coming? Um, I want to say yes, but you never really know in this game. Um, been playing a lot of really good golf. Uh, felt like I haven’t been quite getting the scores out of the shots that I’ve hit. And, um, it’s been a long time, a long grind, and, uh, yeah, it’s it’s pretty cool that, uh, end up on top. Well, you did some quality work there on the back nine. When you have someone like Steve Hill Pepsi Caddyy on your back, how much does that help you coming down the stretch to try to slow down a bit? Yeah, I mean he’s he’s truly like the pros pro. He’s one of the best to ever do it. I mean he’s he’s really really uh calm, keeps me in a good spot, you know, knows what to say at the right the right moments and uh he’s got a lot of experience in big time situations. So um yeah, he he’s he’s fantastic and I’m so happy he’s on my team. when you have time to reflect on this victory. What does this do? Um, it’s just uh it’s just like a culmination of like a lifetime of of work. I uh I can’t tell you like how many hours I’ve spent hitting golf balls, dreaming of winning on the PGA Tour and um yeah, it’s it’s really special. Now, you know, it’s interesting. Your good buddy Ben Griffin, you got to be thinking he’s already got two victories. You said, “Ben, you can’t be the only one from North Carolina to win.” Now you can say, “Tell Ben, I got my first victory.” “Hey, Ben, uh, we’re coming for you. I’ll get you a window.” Thank you, Ryan. Congratulations. Thank you so much. All right, George. Thanks for watching the PJ Tour on YouTube. Watch another video right here.
