A prominent PGA Tour event is reportedly coming to President Trump’s Florida golf course in 2026.

However, President Trump’s course in Scotland, Trump Turnberry, has been shunned from hosting major events in recent years. The golf course hosted the Open Championship in 1977, 1986, 1994, and 2009. However, it hasn’t hosted the event in a while, due to President Trump.

The Royal & Ancient, one of the governing bodies of the sport and the organizers of the Open Championship, said in 2021 that it would not be hosting any events at the course as long as it is affiliated with President Trump.

“We had no plans to stage any of our championships at Turnberry and will not do so in the foreseeable future. We will not return until we are convinced that the focus will be on the championship, the players and the course itself, and we do not believe that is achievable in the current circumstances.”

One prominent golf star does not like that.

LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau believes that it’s time for that to change.

He wants Trump Turnberry to be part of The Open Championship rotation.

“I look at it as a golf course,” DeChambeau said. “It’s one of the best golf courses in the world, and I’d love for it to be a part of the rotation.

“Albeit I haven’t played it, I’ve heard so many great things about it, and any time you get to play a special historical golf course like that, I think it’s worthy of it, for sure.”

DeChambeau believes that President Trump would do his best, too.

“He’d still probably respect the R&A and what they’re trying to accomplish,” DeChambeau said. “I can’t speak on his behalf, but what I can say is, knowing him, he’ll do his best of a job as he possibly can.”
