Phil, what are your thoughts on the the Grant Hallvat situation? I know you guys are close and obviously the PGA Tour has made that sort of decision there. What’s your verdict on it? I don’t know. I I just I’ve really enjoyed playing my matches with Grant and I he’s the nicest guy. I’ve uh and he’s been very helpful for me to kind of get into the YouTube space, a space that I don’t really know a lot about. Uh and I’m starting to learn. I’m learning from him. I’m learning from Bryson. And they’ve been very both very very helpful. Do you think that’s a missed opportunity though? Uh, I’m not going to go into the weeds on that. I just uh really like him. What about the fans here? Uh, Phil, can you say just what you think of them? I mean, the people here are just so nice and um they’re they’re very uh warm and receptive for everybody and it’s uh I think they’re very appreciative too that the the Open has come back here. That’s and and we as players are very appreciative too because it’s such a great golf course. think of the open coming back the women’s open wonder do you have any experience on that course there in Wales? I don’t no I I heard great things but I don’t know I don’t have any past experience after after a dozen years how much how much pride do you take in adapting your game to this style of play at that stage in your career? I think I think winning the Open in 2013 is the greatest accomplishment of my career because I had to overcome and learn a style of golf I really didn’t grow up playing. And so it’s uh kind of the greatest source of pride for me as a player of of overcoming those obstacles. Uh and now I’ve come to really love it, enjoy it, and I seem to u play well in in some of the adverse conditions too. Why was it important for you to do that? I just think it’s a sign of a complete player. I think to be able to win in all the all the conditions of of the majors that they provide and obviously everyone US Open, but winning a Masters requires a whole different style of play than winning US Open or winning a PJ and then this is unique as well and so I just think it’s a sign of a complete player. Are you surprised they haven’t gone back there yet? And there still gone back where back near and there still seems to be some question about if they’ll get back there anytime soon. I don’t know. I really don’t get into the politics of that on that. Um there’s some things I get in politics on but not that. You’d like you’d like to see it though, right? I mean, especially before you’re done playing. I love it. I mean, I I love it. And I think the great thing about the Masters is every year we get to go back and relive those memories if you’ve won it. And you know, here we are. I’ve won the Open. I haven’t had that opportunity to go back and kind of relive those memories and and compete there again. And as players, we we all enjoy that. So, I would love it if we do get back there, but it’s it’s not my call. Thank you.

Phil needs go into booth he d be best and name his price
Grant isn’t good enough to play on the pga. He’s a nice dude but. Cmon be real. Maybe liv because it’s trash.
PGA and LiV are both morally corrupt. They should be dissolved and pro golf should be a series of loosely associated tournaments. Where the players and individual organizer get to make the decisions.
I think this has more to due with stage fright than 'filming rights'
Clickbait
You tube is TV, like Hollywood fake. Controlling the narrative with their own camera shots. You can’t 100% trust it-AI. PGA is live recordings, can’t run from that.
It may come to surprise to most, but some people just don’t want to play on the pro level. Grant has a fantastic following and his videos are great. He loves what he does and he is good at it!
Hes not into making pga.. he creates content. If he's not interested.. he's out. It's math that maths
😂…he didn't say anything. More click bait
You bastard. I got clickbaited.
You want to be a You Tube golfer, great, but those who want to be PGA players deserve spots. Grant did not want to play without videotaping.
Who cares why? It’s his choice.
Grant is a solid golfer but he excels at YT content. Wouldn't be able to handle PGA stress.
Phil and Tiger of Golf are the Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler of Bodybuilding. The best fell off to injury while smooth and steady are winning the race.
Free Wes.
F the PGA I've played golf my whole life, I've seen more youtube golf in the past 5 years then I'll ever watch of the PGA in 10 life times.
Grant Horvat has so many followers and money coming in from YouTube and many other golf brands that pay to be on his channel he doesn’t need or want to grind it out. Some people just don’t have it and when I say they don’t have it I mean they’re comfortable in their space. They don’t want to realize they’re really not that good and ruin what they already have. That’s the reason why I stopped watching Rick shields I saw him play at the qualifier for an open and he completely played like dog shit why would I take his advice anymore?
Grant did the right thing if he wasn’t ready, he wasn’t ready. His money does not come from playing golf if it comes from making content the end.
The biggest disgrace in the history of sports
First, how does Grant get an offer to play a Tour event even though Wesley Bryant was suspended for doing the same LIV duals? Second, Grant is nailing the YT golf and LIV adjacency thing.. potentially doing horribly at an official PGA tour event could potentially hurt him a bit more than it could help him. If he really wanted to play and test himself, he could do a recap vid like Bryan Bros did after their BMW rounds. I think he doesn't want to risk doing poorly. Fair enough. As far as Tour protecting their media rights..heck ya. They are insanely expensive. Can't dilute the value by cracking open the YT Golf show to it..where does that stop. Maybe live and let LIV is better suited, needing more and different exposure and having the whole Duals and Rick Shiels content supplementing tournaments. The Brysons and Phils fit in there great…
Grant making a stand against PGA for Wesley and also not turning his back on his youtube following that has gotten him the popularity he has. Kuddos to Grant
Fussy
Grant is NOT ready to compete on any Tour ⛳🏌️
This is the best press conference content the PGA tour has ever produced
PGA is going to ruin its viewership. Youtube golf is the future. It just is what it is. Grant was not about to play on tour not being able to film while the suspended Wesley for making a video with LIV guys. PGA better wake up. The LIV duals are getting more views than any pga tour non major has this year.
No silence was broken… He basically said, "I don't want to talk about it."
Grant ego run wild! Invite to Barracuda then wants to dictate terms to the tournament of how he will play? Sure one of the Bryan's (suspensions allowing) would have snapped up an invite, to hell with a camera crew following!
Maybe Grant bottled it, scared make idiot of himself and miss cut by wide margin. Turning opportunity down for his fans!
Peter Finch and UK Youtubers didn't dictate to The Open qualifiers about multi camera coverage!
Phil is my favorite golfer and his relationship with Grant is of genuine respect and friendship. I absolutely love the YouTube content they collaborate on together.
Phil, you’re a stud and a real friend for not commenting on Grant’s personal pro golf decision. Phil and Grant, LFG 👊🏼🏌🏽🏌🏻
*KEEPS his silence, fixed the title for you
Who?
Um another don't recommend channel button being hit. I got jabaited.
