smash that like button who that the Super Bowl is here in New Orleans and uh the New Orleans Saints could not avoid the new cycle here as um uh as the week begins and uh Adam shefer was a guest earlier today on the Pat McAfee show and with one head coaching vacancy remaining that of course being the New Orleans Saints vacancy all eyes and attention are pointing toward Kellen Moore and Adam shefer today broke the news that I in many others thought we’d probably hear late last week but I guess better late than never here was sher’s report the head of the Saints organization Mickey Lumis is going to do everything in his power when it comes to this coaching hire to follow the rules and go by the book and not talk to Kell Moore until after the Super Bowl could it break down and they not reach an agreement sure is that likely no Kell Moore is going to have a chance to probably triple his salary become a head coach one to 32 and if the saints were making any other move whether it was hiring the Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver or the Giants offensive coordinator Mike CFA or their own interim head coach what are they waiting for why not go hire them right now but they’re not they’re waiting barring a setback he’s going to be the guy so there’s the report from shefer um barring a setback he’s going to be the guy uh- which fine that and saying you’re going to do everything by the books so you avoid tampering and totally understand that it’s all things we talked about that’s not the report that we got from shefer and others late last week the report late last week Tom pisero among them was that uh Diana Rini who’s here by the way was that the Saints had not made a decision they had not informed any of the candidates they were out of the running and that they wanted to talk to more again after the Super Bowl so as to say that they weren’t done with the interview process so that’s a very different that’s a very different report than what shefer said today which is the thing I thought we would hear late last week cuz it’s what happened last year with Clint kubak so now the attention turns to Kell Moore fully and I think we all understand that now um and shefer was also asked what types of setbacks could possibly occur at this point here’s what he said could there be a setback door there are setbacks Bill belich didn’t wind up becoming the head coach of the Jets Josh McDaniels didn’t wind up becoming the head coach of the Colts Liam con didn’t wind up becoming the coordinator of the Buccaneers but barring his setbacks we know where this is tracking and we know where this is going let’s not be oblivious to it I um so the question becomes how do we feel about Kell Moore and whether this is right or wrong I do think the result of the game on Sunday is going to be very indicative of what the fan reaction is going to be for example I don’t know that Kell Moore would have been a very popular name may still not be but I know that he was going to be a very popular name before the NFC Championship Game the Eagles go put 55 on the board in the NFC Championship Game a day later Kell Moore emerges as really that night emerges as a guy the Saints want to talk to they fly up and talk to him on Monday night into Tuesday morning he’s the front runner now and I think people got pretty excited if the Eagles go out on Sunday against the Chiefs and when the Super Bowl and that offense really cooks and hums then I think we look up and we’re probably a little more excited about Kell Moore than we would have been let’s say 10 to 14 days ago um but the point I’ll make about Kell Moore will continue to be while I don’t think he was the A-list number one guy I clearly Aaron Glenn was your number one Joe Brady was right there as well and you interviewed other candidates the thing I wanted and I think a lot of people wanted was a young offensive-minded coach this checks that box someone without ties to the organization prior this checks that box provided it it does head that way and they get this across the Finish Line um and regardless you still have to hire someone so like you’re going to hire a coach uh it is interesting that Blake groupy was sitting with us 10 minutes ago and said he would love for Darren Rizzy to be the guy and I think that’s a sentiment that a lot of Saints players share but I also don’t think you always default to what the players want to hire the popular candidate among the players that often goes ay um there’s part of me that looks at Darren Rizzy and says could he be the culture builder in New Orleans the way Dan Campbell has been in Detroit and I think there’s some some legitimacy to that um but I also look at any one who’s making that higher and you’re trying to minimize risk in that hire and I don’t know that I could definitively say that there’s more risk with Darren Rizzy or Kell Moore probably less with Darren Rizzy quite honestly because you have an eight game sample size of him as a head coach to know what that looks like but we may uh we may not get that answer but it sounds like according to shefer the report many of us had anticipated hearing late last week is Kell Moore will in fact be the guy after baring a snag after the Super Bowl hey thanks so much for watching please leave your comments I love to interact and be sure to hit the red subscribe button [Music] 1. The league cheats for the Chiefs so I don’t expect this to go well for the Eagles. I still think Kellen Moore will be a great HC if everyone is patient with him building this team.

  2. Wow a beloved organization….trusted in the community…..covering up priest pedophiles and rigging their own games to lose against Philadelphia who is in the Superbowl….we all saw in plain sight the collaboration of two Saints defenders deliberately running into each other to clear the path for 60yards and wow is that tight end for Philadelphia slow with just under a minute left…..Just deplorable asking ur fans to support the team whilel deliberately collecting losses…makes me sick…it was a secret they were defending pedophiles and its a secret that the NFL has players and refs sign non disclosure agreements and this secret is kept from the fans just like they did right here with these pedophile priests…just shameful and disgusting and they justify all their lies with a noble lie….to keep social harmony while they pull the rug right from under our feet….collaboration to conceal the lies….disgusting and its proven…anyone can go back and watch the deliberate collaboration in the Philadelphia game at the end…..shameless…those two Saints defenders should be shipped out of town for collusion along with Ms Benson and Mickey Loomis

  3. Idgaf about Moore. We need to address this whole "Pedo Gate" thing that is going on. I will not watch a single game of Nola's if this crap is a thing. I don't want any association with that crap, or anyone who condones that behavior.

  4. You are really talking about this today with the story that came out and not address the fact the owner of the team assisting the Catholic Church in a PR campaign to spin them covering up a pedo ring? Dude come on….

  5. Kellen Moore is like the last single girl in the club when the lights come on. At this point Mickey Loomis is just to go home with something. He can't go home empty-handed😂😂😂😂😂

  6. The part, I don’t understand is if y’all want Kelly Moore, based off of what ??? The eagles have talent on their team. Of course he was going to do a good job. Bro yall had a better offensive mind already in the building!!!!!! The OC y’all let walk out the door.

  7. The only reason the folk in Baton Rouge wanted Joe Brady was because if his connection to LSU. THAT'S IT!! Kellen Moore will be a great hire.

  8. If Mrs. Benson and other Saints executives are involved in covering up this scandal, we need to get rid of all of them. No exceptions.

  9. Why is everyone so hyped on Kellen Moore? He’s nothing good. I’d rather have Rizzi over Moore. Moore has been fired in every team he’s coached this season with Philly only because of Saquon.

Let’s be real Saquon carried that team all by himself. Without him the eagles wouldn’t get this far no doubt. Moore is getting all the credit for it.

  10. Nothing like a little “alter boy altercation” cover up to get your franchise turned around. Why couldn’t we just have a normal scandal.. like a little Brett Favre fool around. Or Justin tuckers tickle time..

  11. Matt i love your show but you seem so negative about this coach hire. I am looking forward Kellen Moore

  12. Good Luck! With the current General Manager, this dude better have a rabbit's foot necklace and every pocket filled with 4 leaf clovers.

  13. This wont be happening after it came out that the Aints are supporting pdfiles and helping cover up disgusting child abuse
