A one-hour weather delay didn’t stop Kai Trump and Jayden Loyacona from logging personal-best finishes on the Srixon Medalist Tour.

Trump, the eldest granddaughter of U.S. President Donald J. Trump, finished tied for third on July 17 in a South Florida PGA event at Lost City Golf Club in Atlantis, Florida.

She shot 11-over (76-77) for the two-day tournament and tied for the most birdies (4) by any individual player. The start of the final round was delayed one hour on Thursday due to morning thunderstorms.

It’s the highest finish by Trump in a Srixon Medalist Tour event, which are hosted by the South Florida PGA and billed for “skilled, aspiring golfers who want to compete at the high school and collegiate levels.” Her previous best was tied for seventh.

Boca Raton’s Jayden Loyacona, who played in the final group alongside Trump and Port St. Lucie’s Abigail Smith, secured her first Srixon Medalist Tour win.

She shot 5-over (77-72) for the two-day tournament, largely avoiding trouble with bogeys that plagued much of the rest of the 18-player field.

Loyacona and Trump were each All-County selections last season while playing for Spanish River High School and the Benjamin School, respectively.

Trump, a University of Miami commit with more than 4 million combined followers on Instagram and TikTok, appeared on Fox News on Tuesday in advance of the tournament to discuss her golf game and latest Name, Image and Likeness contract.
