A first in LIV Golf history — a team playoff between South Africa’s Stinger GC and hometown heroes Ripper GC at The Grange in Adelaide. Dean takes us back to the spot where it all unfolded — from his pitch to the bunker miss, the crowd noise, and the weight of the moment.
“It was the coolest thing… but not this time.”
This is what it looks like when pressure, pride, and playoff golf collide.

Astonishing scenes here at the Graange Golf Club in Adelaide. A first team playoff in live golf league history between the South Africans Stinger GC and the home nation Griff GC. So we’re back. This is the This is the playoff hole. First T-shot I hit was around here and then I hit a beautiful pitch to, you know, 7 8 ft and then the next one was a yard in the rough just here and the flag was kind of in line with where that 18 was. And um I mean I went for the perfect golf shot and over hit it and went in that back bunker and unfortunately had no shot from there. But um it’s pretty cool. It’s nice not to have 30,000 Aussies screaming and shouting at you telling asking you to duff it or thin it or something. Set it. All right, that’s makeable. That pins on a nasty spot. I mean, for the tournament and for the league and for Australia and South Australia, it was the best thing that could have happened. You know, them winning their own their home event, our biggest event that we play in was the coolest thing. So, I mean, if we were going to lose to anyone, would have probably been them. But not this time. Come on. Not this time.
