welcome back to half the battle I’m your host as always Daniel Levy your guest co-host Clint mlan today we’re going to talk about UFC Vegas 105 lone Murphy versus Josh EMT and Clint it’s going down this Saturday Night Live at the Apex in Las Vegas Nevada you got the streaking emerging Lon Murphy 15 and0 is Pro and he’s been carrying it over into the UFC taking on the UFC featherweight KO King SL UFC featherweight knockdown King as well the Ageless Wonder The 40-Year-Old Josh EMT is one hell of a match up with lots of stakes on the line Clint it’s gonna be good man it’s gonna be good uh you know as as uh we should be right fans of uh joshh EMT a member of the bald gang over here with the two of us so uh definitely rooting for my boy he’s been a dark horse for a long time and this seems like one of those cards that’s going to be fun man like the name value isn’t necessarily there you know the Casual fan isn’t GNA know but I got a feeling if you invite the boys over for this one this is going to be a good event I mean growing up when there were playground fights or you see a fight at the parking lot of a 7-Eleven I was never like is this guy popular or not no there’s a fight going down I want to watch it that’s the bottom line so let’s get right down to business because in the main event in the featherweight division we got Josh EMT he’s 19 and4 taking on LeRon Murphy who’s 1 15 and one currently they got it LeRon Murphy minus 310 The Comeback on Josh EMT is plus 260 I love this fight I mean Josh EMT as you guys know well firstly he’s 40 like I mentioned already so you know we’re reaching that point in his career but this guy’s got the most knockdowns in UFC featherweight history the most knockouts in UFC featherweight history and guess what the last thing to go is Clinton mlan uh the rumor is that it’s the power that’s the last thing to go exactly and that rumor has been proven correct many times you know this guy’s 40 well let’s look at a 4445 year old named Dan Henderson who in his last ever fight a title fight against bisbing goes out there and like drops him two three times you know so I’m just saying like even though the reflexes are going to be a little bit slower on EMT maybe the volume’s going to be a tad bit lower than had been in the past you know like in the Bergos fight in the Calvin Kar fight etc etc the one thing that’s not going to go away is that power and when you talk about just how hard does Josh EMT hit I mean he hits so hard that Josh EMT had Bryce Mitchell denying historical events and facts from World War II Josh EMT hit so hard that he turned Bryce Mitchell from a lovable naive country boy to a hateful ignorant spiteful piece of [ __ ] that’s how hard Josh EMT hits now when you’re talking about LeRon Murphy the way I describe him is gritty is knowing exactly what he wants is not taking no for an answer because this guy has overcome adversity in his UFC fights whether it was early on against tuuga or most recently against Dan EIG who one could arguably make a you know make a little debate that maybe eay hits harder than EMT why do I say that eay and EMT got to got into a fist fight guess who dropped to eay dropped EMT now while EMT has more knockdowns and Knockouts to you know back his case of being the hardest hitter uh I’d say eeg’s power is pretty damn comparable and Lon Murphy he doesn’t lose composure although you know you might question his chin a little bit never never been knocked out but he has been hurt in fights and you don’t want to see him get hurt here but I am confident that if he is not laid out stiff like that he can overcome a knockdown that he can and the big thing for me is that okay so in the past you have seen EMT put up good numbers in terms of like in terms of output because it’s important to mention that because when you’re dealing with a guy who you know short stocky relies on that overhand relies on that left hook that uppercut whatever the case may be you often view guys like that as lower volume but like I said EMT has put up the numbers necessary before but has has he put up the numbers that ler ran put up in that Eton Barbosa fight that was like historical numbers and someone correct me if I’m wrong because I love to pride myself on knowing who had the most significant strikes landed in in you know divisions histories is lon Murphy versus Barbosa the second or third most ever landed in a featherweight fight because you know Max [ __ ] Holloway did what he did to Calvin ker right so that’s number one and I’m sure like every other Max Holloway fights two three four five but take Max Holloway out out of the picture for a second did was Lon Murphy’s performance against Edson Barbosa the the most output we’ve ever seen in featherweight history barring Max Holloway I don’t have the numbers I would assume so you know he he put up over 200 significant strikes com 220 is what they’ve got on the UFC stats site with 364 total strikes with four takedowns landed so I mean it’s going to be tough to beat that man I that’s got to be it’s number one or number two yeah no for sure so listen man um I do think that Lon Murphy’s gonna pick him apart I’m just the thing that I like most about him is just his willingness to just dog through and just to get to where he wants to be right like this guy really like I said I’m I’m going to be repeating myself now this guy does not take no for an answer and you must put away LeRon Murphy to beat Lon Murphy but EMT has the power to put any man on planet Earth that weighs 145 pounds away so which way are you going I I’m I’m picking LeRon you know and regarding the price you know let’s see if it comes down a little bit but uh you know the the guys in their 40s have been losing this year now Grant I want to say they’re performing Better Than People thought Yan bovich against Carlos olberg like dude uh he performed a lot [ __ ] better than I expected and there was another for oh yeah Vince Pachel dude even though Vince you know he didn’t look like his old self but like that f for it being minus 500 Rafa Garcia I mean he competed so the question is you know is another 40-year old gonna make a good account of himself in 2025 yeah man I I think he will I think he will the only problem really for me is the takedown defense now not a lot of people are out here wrestling joshh EMT he does a good job of keeping them away with you know that step- in power jab that he’s got and that right hand that he fires so not many people are able to get in on those hips but when they do he’s got a 46% takedown defense I think Lon Murphy’s gonna be able to hit takedowns now similarly to like you said you got to put Lon Murphy to away to win that fight you kind of got to put Josh imit away to win the fight too I mean the only guy in recent memory that has not done that was Ilia freaking zoria that took him to a decision and managed to win I know he lost to like uh Desmond Green or something like that a split decision I think um earlier in his UFC run but that’s basically been it everybody that’s even gone the distance with Josh hamt he’s winning those fights too he’s a uh regular Underdog and he always pays off that price even in those fights where it looks like he’s you know losing he has his moments where he shows that he’s extremely live I worry about Lon Murphy being just a little bit hitable and if this fight gets extended Lon Murphy was exhausted in round three against Dan eay Dan eay was winning some of the scrambles he was reversing he was getting on top so I I think there’s an argument to be made for imtt to win this fight by knockout later in the fight not even early in the fight but later in the fight when Lon starts to kind of tire out and slow down maybe he hits a takedown or two but doesn’t quite get Josh EMT out of there I could see a late knockout materializing with that kind of a setup man I got to tell you Dan this is a really really tough fight though and The Bookies have gotten way too sharp for my liking recently they make it real hard to profit on MMA the way we used to be able to uh I don’t like lone Murphy at minus 300 but I’m also not quite ready to plug my nose and take the stab on Josh emit either this is a dog or pass betting perspective angle for me but I will take the coward’s way out and say at the end of the day I’m probably gonna pass and I’m GNA pick Lon Murphy to win the fight I just I don’t want to step in front of Josh emt’s right hand that’s all it comes down to yeah I don’t think anyone does but you know as far as saying that you know Ilia managed to win a decision I mean Ilia 5042 him and I’m not that’s not hyperbole that’s not hyperbole there was literally a 5042 scorecard so yeah that was a Pillar To Post Beatdown and regarding your your point about LeRon maybe gassing out I’m not going to deny that but what I’ll say is my original point is that it doesn’t matter how tired LeRon is this dude pushes this dude will push push push and when it was 1-1 going to round three against eay and eay had some early success in round three I mean the kind of heart that ler ran showed and you know you know this guy kind of has a story similar to like 50 Cent where he got shot in the face multiple times overcame that like uh this dude Lon Murphy is really as tough as they get and he must be put away to lose in my opinion at least here and Josh EMT has the power to do so so that’s what makes this an incredible main event but yeah I got to go with the youth the guy with the higher ceiling at this point and um I think he’s going to pick Josh emmt apart now co-main event of the evening in the featherweight division we got a match up between Joe Anderson burrito he’s 17-4 taking out Pat sabatini who’s 19 and5 currently they got it burrito minus 230 The Comeback on sabatini is plus 1195 this is an interesting one Clint because sabatini is a very very legit black well and a legit wrestler as well and you know he’s over there training in New York which is funny because you hear him talk I felt like he kind of has a bit of a Southern accent for a guy from up north does anyone know if he was born down south and then moved or something because when I was hearing his accent I was like didn’t that doesn’t sound like no New York accent to me but either way man this guy can grapple his ass off but that’s all he can do right you know compare to the average human he can strike but you know against Joe Anderson breedo you better not be doing no [ __ ] striking I’ll tell you that right now thing about this kid burrito I’ve always been a fan and I tell the I tell the listeners of half the battle often when I watch the contender series fights I watched the fight and then I skipped to the end to hear why Dana did or didn’t sign the fighter and his comments on burrito was like this could be our next special Fighter coming out of Brazil and you got to take into consideration that on his Contender series fight he beat Diego Lopez who could potentially become a UFC world champion next week right and then when you look at the UFC run you know the two losses right the bill Alia loss one-1 going around three comes down to one scramble at the very end in your debut that’s something you easily can fix in the gym and and you get according to a lot of people robbed against gomei in uh in France so I I I think that Joe Anderson breedo man obviously you know about the explosiveness you know about the brute strength you know about but it’s not just that he’s got good techniques too I like his Guillotine I like that so people are going to mention how he doesn’t give the best looks when he gets taken down he’s on his back true but when I think about guys not giving the best looks I Think About You know guys that instantly give up their backs or guys that panic in bad spots or what whatnot so while uh burito might not have necessarily the urgency to get right back up what he does do is he’s very good at retaining his guard he’s very good at getting those butterfly hooks in and then eventually working his way back up to the wall wall walk get back up from there so I like his his defensive fundamentals uh it’s just the issue is when you have a guy that you know is so fast twitched so explosive 100% into every shot guess what the one a downfall is he’s a Gasser and you do not want to be gassed with Pat sabatini on top of you but that being said I think this has the makings to be one of those fights like Brito versus chpe marisoll where he just comes out there and just blows him out the water you know knocks his head into the fifth row type stuff because Pat sabatini like from kind of time you’re going to see Brilliance on the mat right but other times you’re going to see these heads scratching performances like the Damon Jackson one where it’s like wait like you’re this high level you’re like you’re like one of the highest credential you know Jiu-Jitsu guys in the featherweight Division and Damon Jackson just takes you down one time and the fight’s over shortly after so it’s like hit or miss with sabatini you see flashes of Brilliance on the ground then you see an extremely questionable chin and you know your head scratching so I’m gonna go burrito here but the thing about it is we’re talking minus 230 and the other thing about it is if I’m watching this fight and Pat sabatini takes his back you know am I gonna am I gonna be happy about having a minus 230 there no I’m not so it’s a pass for me but pure pick I’ll take burrito yeah man you broke that down about as well as anybody could I have a lot of thoughts that I would just kind of echo what you’re saying um this is a pretty massive Step Up in competition I would think um for Pat satini just kind of generally speaking I know you think the guy uh you know Britto is probably the one kind of getting the Step Up in competition but he he’s going from well-rounded to uh specialist whereas you know you’re looking at the wins on the record of Pat satini and it’s like man JSP my guy cut you know he got knocked out by Diego Lopez so it’s to step down from there obviously but he got smoked in that fight uh you know he had a fight against Lucas Almeida that he won by sub now okay Lucas is a little hit and miss in the UFC Damon Jackson is like well aging veteran you he lost that one pretty quick too and then before that it’s Tucker Lutz TJ laramy uh Jamal emers if he had half a brain in his head would have finished that by TKO so that one I don’t even count I don’t even count the Jamal emmer fight as a as a win here because he really should have lost that one I mean In fairness though it’s credit to sabatini’s opportunistic finishing ability on the ground I mean to even to be that rocked and to know to go for something like that and to have the kind of oppon the perfect opponent to go for that move against because you know that emers is kind of flaky I’ll give satina credit for that yeah maybe I’m taking a little too much credit away from him because I lost a big bet that night so I’m a little salty on that one uh but at the end of the day man all it comes down to is when Pat satini takes a step up in competition he gets cracked and he gets knocked out like that’s what that seems to historically just be kind of what he doeses the fear for me is y Anderson burrito plays with his food a little bit like they’ve got the common opponent in Jonathan Pierce and it wasn’t until Jonathan Pierce pissed him off that he woke up and he turned that table you know turned the tables on him and and got going in that fight but at first he was showing some weakness towards that grappling game and that’s a fear against Pat satini in spot real real quick not to I didn’t mean to cut you off I just wanted to give a backstory on the infight dialogue between Brito and JSP because people uh have this notion that that JSP started it right so PE people started at the get up boy do something about it boy and then he gets up and gets choked out that’s what everyone remembers right yeah but the way it actually started was Joe Anderson breedo was grabbing the glove of of JSP right so JSP talks to the ref and he’s like ref he’s grabbing my glove so when he did that then burito you know he doesn’t speak English but he’s like blah blah blah blah blah right like he’s like he’s you know talking a little [ __ ] so from there once you started talking like that then JSP was like well get up and do something about it boy and then from there the the infamous ninja choke happen so just a little backstory for everyone that doesn’t know the full context there you go well uh man it just at the end of the day I’m with you I’m picking you Anderson britu um William gy close fight close fight that one worries me because he he made it close he made it competitive I felt like britu won that fight however it was a close fight and as we know in 2025 if it’s a close fight you can’t really complain too much about the judging situation and if you’re laying chalk on a split decision in France a French fighter against a French fighter exactly uh but the way I look at it man um there’s two fighters in the UFC that have beaten yo Anderson breu and it’s Bill aljo and it’s William gy both of them have been tall lanky technical avoid the brawl type of Fighters Pat doesn’t have that ability like Pat’s gonna have to get right on in there on Yo Anderson Brito so he’s gonna have to be that much better than him grappling to be able to secure this victory for 15 straight minutes because there will be no outside jab stick and move keep away from this guy’s power he’s going to have to be face to chest on this guy and so I think eventually an opportunity will present itself and britu will land on the chin so I do think it’s britu by knockout at some point I could see Pat having some success early on I could see britu timing that first takedown and hitting him with a flying knee it could go either way but I I do think that eventually britu is gonna find a Knockout now next up in the bantamweight division we got a match up between cavius romeus which is a [ __ ] badass name he’s N9 and three taking on changho Lee who’s 10- one currently they got it Chang Ho Lee minus 130 The Comeback on cavius romeus is plus 110 uh Clint I think you have a stronger opinion on this fight than me so it’s all yours brother take it away my man yeah um honestly Dan this one’s pretty straight and simple to me like I’m I’m not GNA get overly technical on the breakdown on this one I’m doing everything I can to fade road to UFC fighters and you’re giving me a plus number to fade a road to UFC fighter you know these guys are they’ve proven that they’re just not ready for the UFC level even guys like ronzo who have been here before sent back down to the Regionals won their way back up got some more experience and then take a second crack at the UFC he’s still getting his ass whooped in the UFC so these guys are just not ready for this level of talent it is taking literal Olympians from that market to come over here and be viable and even then there’s still one dimensional Fighters but those other skills have got to catch up so I have no reason to believe that Chang Ho Lee is the dude and deserves to be favored over anybody else who’s remotely UFC level at this point his only win in the UFC at the quote unquote UFC level was the road to UFC finale over long Xiao and that kid’s 26 years old and he’s got over 30 professional fights he’s a lot like ronu where it’s a bunch of people who can’t hang but he’s still not ready for the UFC even with 30 professional fights under his belt so that being your best win coming by Split Decision where you got dragged all over the canvas and they were reversing each other they were battling it out for position they they were on the cage they were on the ground they were getting stood like all of it all of it so it went everywhere cavius romeus is a beast physically speaking he makes some very questionable infight decisions he’s a guy that’s been on Contender series twice so he’s a little untrustworthy himself however the man is a physical specimen he’s a very strong wrestler and he’s got a pretty opportunistic submission game I think he’s going to be more physically powerful than anybody that uh uh longu has run into before I’m sorry Chang ho Le I’m mixing my names up here I think he’s gonna be more powerful than anybody Chang hoe has run into before I think he’s gonna have better technical grappling than anybody Chang Huli has run into before I just think this line is backwards Dan I think you’ve got to make cavius the favorite in this spot and because of that it’s an easy click when you’re giving me plus money on top of all of that in cavius UFC debut Dan he was the rage like people could not stop parlaying cavius romeus in his UFC debut I took the plus money on gueston Banos like it was a good fight it was a back and forth fight it was competitive but this guy did nothing to earn that minus 220 marker that he had walking into the cage for the first time but now he’s got 15 minutes of UFC caliber competition under his belt and I think he gets his first win on Saturday yeah this is a tough one for me uh so cavius romeus I uh have experience with him from the regional scene you know he beat one of my friends on the regional scene and you know he’s always been around here you know down south so I I’ve definitely taken note of him prior to his UFC career and it’s he’s an interesting character because it’s like obviously in terms of just natural raw athletic ability Talent potential all that he’s got it in Spades but like can throw a jab you know what I’m saying and it’s like when a lot of your WIS are like arm bars off your back which is great I mean I’ve seen him tap out black belts and all this stuff but when you come to the UFC level C can you do that now granted he’s fighting now at the lower levels of the UFC but like when when guys like Gaston balanos who to his credit has paid more dues than than cavius but when guys like that are giving you a tour of the Octagon so on one hand you know it was his debut he is Young he’s taking time off come back make adjustments you know you shouldn’t hold that against them too much but it’s not just that fight it’s kind of uh even the contender series fight that he won anytime this guy gets extended there’s certain things in in terms of mental lapses in terms of fight IQ things that because like like I said you take this guy down you give him your arm or something like that you dive head first into a guillotine like what like bro like he will take something home with him like he is that dangerous he is that opportunistic and I also think that potential wise like if you tell me that both cavius romeus and Chan ho are in the UFC not only this time next year but let’s let’s say two years from now all right you know humor me let’s say they’re both in the UFC two years from now I think cavius romeus is gonna be ranked ahead of Chan hooli two years from now but I also think that massas is going to be ranked ahead of Carlos Vera in two years I don’t think Carlos Vera is going to be in the UFC in two years whereas I think musasa could be a a future top 15 guy in two years so and know people might disagree with that but the point I’m trying to make here is that although cavius romeus has the higher ceiling is the much better athlete I think Chan Ho Lee has the better fundamentals H he’s just nothing special right so so that’s what makes it tough for me so I’ll go on the opposite side of you in terms of a pure pick I’ll take the fundamentals of Chan hooli over the kind of like wild card ump specimen of cavius but I’d be happy to be proven wrong because I do think cavius is more talented than this guy I do think he has a brighter future it’s just paying dues experience and even just fundamentals are very very important to me and I think that romeus is lacking that department but I’m not confident enough to come out here and bet this holy guy who is also green and is just simply nothing special just meat and potatoes so yeah I pure pick I I’ll take hoi but I’m rooting for you I I hope you come out here and cash this one CU I like cavius I really do it’s just I got to separate the fact that I like his personality and some of his cool finishes from how I actually think he’ll do it at this level you know we’re not in the NFC anymore you know so yeah so let’s see what happens now next up in the heavyweight division we got a match between Kennedy and zuku he’s four 14 and five taking on Martin bdet who’s 14-2 currently they got it Kennedy and zetu minus 360 The Comeback on Martin BD is plus 295 guys who who was it on Twitter that said uh BD equals boute whoever said that that was [ __ ] hilarious good line please claim that um because that was great uh listen man I’m so happy that Kennedy moved up to heavyweight dude like when you’re 6 fo5 with the what kind of reach are we talking we talking 83 inch reach is is that what we’re talking here I think so it’s yeah 83 nailed it okay bro 6’5 83 inch reach like he shouldn’t have been cutting the 205 and there was such inconsistency with the durability at 205 due to the weight Cuts I mean just hear me out the fight against Carlos olberg how do you go from eating like 200 significant strikes against Carlos olberg and then you knock him out then all of a sudden you can’t eat a blocked elbow by da Jong then all of a sudden the first punch Dustin jacobe lands puts you out that to me is clear proof that the way Cuts were an issue and I’m happy to see a 6 foot5 African Savage with an 83 inch reach moving up to this thin division at heavyweight where I think he can be ranked shortly if he’s not already ranked and as he’s dealing with these kind of bottom tier heavyweights you know he’s moving up you know Chris Barnett Pro know no disrespect to him he’s a lot of fun to watch but you know probably the worst heavyweight on the roster Lucas breski second worst now we got uh the third worst you know so so I like how they’re incrementally giving him like okay if if look I’m not here to be disrespectful I’m here to be honest if you ask me okay so the you’ve never seen Kennedy fight you’ve never seen bdai fight so these guys are heavyweights right so describe them a little bit to me okay Kennedy is an athletic heavyweight bdet is a fat heavyweight that’s just the bottom line here man and I think that Kennedy and zetu is going to come out here continue that win streak and move up to a higher profile fight at heavyweight and um I like the fact that when I’ve been watching his recent heavyweight fights and he’s been getting a hit you know his defense still needs to be shored up a little bit but there’s no big reactions it’s like bro you weigh 250 pounds now you know what I’m saying like you got that water in your body and your brain and you’re uh fully hydrated you can eat these shots now and I’m not I’m not saying he’s going to eat some shots from Sergey pavlovich or anything but he’s fighting Martin budet okay you think Martin BD is gonna pin Kennedy against the fence and dirty box I guess or whatever he does you know I don’t want to say wall and Maul I want to say wall and stall or hit a camur like he did against Josh peran I just don’t see [ __ ] like that happening man I think that the volume the length the athleticism and just being a better fighter is what’s going to get Kennedy to win here so give me Kennedy and zugu to continue that win streak and show that moving up to heavyweight was the best move he ever made in his career man I’m I agree with you I gotta tell you Dan I do my shows on Monday as you know and uh people are letting me have it in the comments I mean people people are talking to me like they’re my teachers calling my dad back when I was in Middle School like I am so disappointed Clint like people are saying that I was glazing buday and uh all I said was the only guy that budai had lost to in the UFC is Shamil gazia and that is factually accurate so the guy’s been on a decent run in the UFC so far he’s scraping the bottom of the barrel he’s got two wins by Split Decision don’t give but he had a 5050 fight with Lucas breski which a lot of people thought so I I’m not gonna be one of the guys that say uh he should have lost that fight reason being uh is that I fell asleep during that fight no but I went I went back I went back and rewatched it I thought it was whatever but like it was a 50-55 with Lucas breski it was and that’s an issue that is an issue the only thing for this fight for me is I need to see that Kennedy’s durability issues are fixed at heavyweight man uh his teammate Ryan span just tried to jump up to heavyweight didn’t do [ __ ] for his cardio so I I’m I know they’re not the same human being so it’ll have different effects but I just don’t know if it was the weight cut that was Killing Kennedy or if maybe he’s just not all that durable because if he’s just not all that durable Dan heavyweights going to not be great for him now I I think what we see generally speaking in MMA is the lighter in weight you get the better technique in skill and the higher in weight you get the less technique in skill besides a few outliers right so that’s why we see middleweights jump up to 205 and have immediate success because those big guys are used to hitting people real hard and they fall over they don’t have to be as technical same thing at heavyweight 205 guys can move up and be very successful right away because they’re more technical they’re more skilled and they’re not so reliant on that power and I think that’s kind of what’s Happening Here with Kennedy he’s moving up and he’s got skills these guys aren’t ready for so I think he’s going to do well at heavyweight as long as his durability checks out I just don’t have any evidence to show that his durability is gonna check out if BD is able to pin this guy up against the fence because he’s the natural bigger stronger more physical guy and Kennedy doesn’t have much of an answer for it and those knees that gaziev throws and lands when he’s in close I’m sorry not Gaz I’m mixing up my guys again here buday if Bay throws some of those big powerful knees I could see that being a problem I know Kennedy is the more skilled fighter so I am picking him to win I’m just not gonna lay three to one on him that’s all it comes down for me I I gotta see it before I can trust him yeah no I I get your point regarding the price I I just simply disagree about the durability I mean of course I can be proven wrong um like again when you eat 200 significant strikes by Carlos olberg and don’t go down how how is that not like durable as hell and then I get it like I said the next fight gets goes down to a blocked elbow but that a blocked elbow but that but that but that to me is there was no water in his body and brain like H I just don’t understand how you can go from eating 200 strikes from olberg to not eat even one from D Jung not even one from jacobe that to me just tells me like hey bro you made the right [ __ ] call moving up to heavyweight and what’s he weighing in at now like 245 250 like let’s see on Friday cuz because and then regarding span listen man span’s always been a flake yeah that’s just they’re two different people completely span it’s a mental thing because like I I I think Kennedy’s tough back to the oldberg fight when when you eat that amount of strikes and you can still come back and knock a dude like that out like I know it was a long time ago but yeah I don’t I I don’t think it’s like a toughness issue with Kennedy I think it was a weight cutting issue but I’m willing to be proven wrong so let’s see now uh next up in the middleweight division we got a battle between two vets we got Gerald mirar he’s 37 and 18 taking on Brad tarz who’s 20 and 10 currently they got it Brad tarz Min – 205 The Comeback on gm3 Gerald Mard is plus 175 this is interesting man uh because to me it’s like historically speaking Brad tarz is a terrible mat match up for Gerald mirart like if they’re at them at their primes I think that Brad tavar is easily 30 27s Gerald mirart like I I think that Gerald mirart doesn’t sniff a single takedown because in Brad’s Prime his takedown defense was I mean still like when you’ve had when you’ve been in the UFC I think what 14 15 years and you have an 80% takedown defense I mean what else is there to say that is that is absolutely astonishing 80% takedown defense with a 15-year uh sample size like okay yeah yeah that’s [ __ ] serious but the thing about it is although historically speaking I think that tavar would sprawl here leg kicks you know I’ve always described tarz as an um average kickboxer with above average takedown defense with Elite takedown defense to be frank so yeah I definitely think tarz would have picked him apart back in the day uh and stylistically he does have a lot of edges here but here’s my thing when you’re just talking about current form bro I think mirart is a little fresher as crazy as that sounds I know I know that sounds insane but I think me’s a little bit fresher than Tavaris at this point let me make let me make some uh arguments examples whatnot Brad tavar is known for his legendary takedown defense right his last two fights he’s been taken down twice in both of them maybe we can give him a pass for rooc COV because that guy’s a 205 fighting at 185 that guy’s just [ __ ] massive but when guys from uh where where is iron turtle from uh Korea I believe he’s Korean when so when the All-American Chris Weidman who’s one of the best American wrestlers you know collegewise that we’ve ever seen in the UFC and a future UFC Hall of Famer when he can’t take you down but then a year or two later you know I love the iron Turtle I’m a fan of his but you know that they don’t have D1 programs in Korea right and iron turtle is taking you down now yeah that’s a sign of a decline and this decline has been going on for a while too and the chin of Brad’s always been in question not that Gerald’s hasn’t so what makes it tough to me is that like I said historically speaking Prime for Prime tvars wins this fight but current form current form I mean listen when Chuck and Tito fought twice in the UFC at their best Chuck [ __ ] smoked them but when they fought way past their Prime Tito got a knockout win you know what I mean like yep I think Gerald mirart has a chance to come out here and get a late finish I I can’t confidently say it because my hesitancy is like I said it’s a bad matchup for him but current form I do not like what I’ve seen from tarz at all I think he’s a fight or two away from retirement and I actually do think that Mir sh has gone out of his comfort zone no longer training in you know Milwaukee he’s gone down to Florida he’s gone up there with balal he’s done a bunch of different things and like uh I feel like his offensive wrestling has actually got a bit better which is something you don’t often see you already know he’s got a sneaky body kick his hands from time to time when you sleep on them remember that Bruno Silva fight you know so uh do like it it’s not confident because it could go either way but um I think this I think Gerald might be catching Brad had had a good time so uh I’ll reluctantly take him as an underdog pick here I completely agree with you man I couldn’t agree more uh one of the big things that we’ve seen from Gerald mirart lately like you mentioned is the uh expansion of his striking Arsenal this is a guy that was a pure Jiu-Jitsu player now he’s out there rocking people and club and subbing them instead and Brad tarez is not the Ironclad refused to go down can’t get hurt on the feet can’t get taken down Beast that he used to be he’s just not that guy anymore he’s been finished on the feet twice recently and again like you said we got to give him credit it’s Gregory Rodriguez okay Bruno Silva hits pretty damn hard okay but giving up those takedowns in his last couple fights that’s something that was always the calling card of Brad tovarus he doesn’t get taken down so now he can get clipped and hurt on the feet now he can get taken down and I think the big thing with Gerald mirart is people have this weird impression that rard Dar Ritter is some kind of bum and that that’s a bad loss on his record and I I think anybody who knows what they’re talking about knows that that’s just inaccurate so I think we’re that that matchup is irrelevant to this matchup derder and tavar is fight nothing alike nothing alike but again it just you you know how people get though right you know you lose to somebody who’s a bum and then forever you’re in a different category and I just think that that’s that’s kind of what’s Happening Here to some extent Gerald’s lost to a lot worse guys than than deritter okay didn’t he lose to um what’s the name of that one jobber Ellis didn’t he lose to the Ellis guy J Ellis the legend it was either Jay Ellis or one of those other guys like that like I’m so bro people take second professional fight he lost to J Ellis the layup of MMA and Sam alvie too keep going yep yep so don’t get me wrong he’s had his moments right but but I’m with you man I’m with you at the end of the day it just seems like he’s got a little bit more gas in the tank right now I he fought tooth and nail with rer der Ritter and that was an incredibly high-paced fight and he hurt Riner a bunch of times on the feet and that was a really good performance you know even losing that fight that was a very good performance and on Brad’s best day Dan he’s not knocking anybody out I had a round three prop with this man against Omari ametov ametov was so exhausted he couldn’t do a damn thing in the third round that man folded up and went to pfl after that fight was over and then started losing over there instead so if you couldn’t get him out of there exhausted in round three I’m done with the power right like we can’t talk about the power the only guy at the UFC level he ever finished was Kristoff jco and that one was weird because I really didn’t think he was gonna finish Kristoff either so uh you know I just I’m not expecting a finish from a guy like Brad Tavarez when he never had power in his youth if the power is the last thing to go he didn’t have it in the first place so yeah Gerald mir’s got the power Edge he’s got the submission Edge he’s got the grappling upside I think current form he’s a little bit better yeah I think I’m G to have to plug my nose and take it too man he was a little wider earlier in the week I should have snagged that plus 200 but I’m a little late to the party yeah I’m with you I think Gerald M’s probably the right side here now next up also in the middleweight division we got a match up between Torres finny making Georgia’s Own he’s 10-0 taking on Robert Valentin who’s 10 and4 re repping Switzerland currently they got it Torres finy minus 280 The Comeback on Robert Valentin is plus 240 you know I kind of view this as tus finny has that old school Matt Hughes style you know this dude is 5 foot eight for his weight class he’s way he he’s like the shortest guy in the in the division but he’s cocked he’s stocky kind of like Matt Hughes was at 170 Matt Hughes was like 5 foot s you know picking these guys up walking them halfway across the Octagon slamming them and that’s what Torres finny does so he brings that old school Matt Hugh style to the to the table and Robert Valentin you know he’s a big boy he’s an opportunistic finish finisher but I have questions about his process and um stuff like that and also being from Switzerland man I mean you know we can talk about uh swiss cheese Swiss Army knives but one thing they are not known for is good all wrestling what do you think about this fight oh this fight is a bummer for me man because I I really want to fade Torres finny he seems like a nice guy don’t give me R why why why why why why I just think these guys are limited like I you know we talk uh shout out my guy Liam pick’s fights he’s always talking about anthropomorphic advantages I feel like this guy’s got anthropomorphic disadvantages you know when when you’re that size you know Daniel Cormier is the only example we can point to that’s really made that work when you’re that short you’re that sorry pardon pardon my ignorance what do you mean by that the fact that he’s half the size of anybody in the cage with him I know he’s twice as wide but being that short um what what’s what was Daniel cormier’s wrestling that came in here and got popped up Don win but yeah but that that was different because finny could not make 70 no matter what you do whereas Don win was a fat [ __ ] 5 foot six missing at 85 like come on bro but that’s kind of my point these guys are tanks like they they’re just built differently and I think it makes it difficult for them to be in the right weight class for them I think as finny moves up the chain here I don’t get me wrong he’s going to get some wins but I think when he gets a little hype when he gets rolling downhill a bit I think he’s going to run into a brick wall at the top 15 that’s just my guess we’ll see what happens but that’s what I’m kind of thinking happens here so I think we good top 15 but what about top [ __ ] 300 which is what this guy is what do you think yeah and that’s right here this is where I’m kind of getting to my question with Valentine is what version of him are we getting because word on the street is that he had a broken arm in that fight for The Ultimate Fighter finale cuz he had that neck wrapped up Dan and for some reason he couldn’t quite get it home it makes sense to me that he can’t squeeze with a broken arm and maybe that’s why he didn’t finish that submission in round one he also could just be a bum and fell off one of those things are true we’re gonna find out I think Vinnie’s gonna have no problem taking Valentine down but valentinea is a tough son of a [ __ ] so I could see him hanging around in this fight we’ve seen finny get tired hanging on to people catching his breath he does a good job of digging deep and hitting that next takedown when he needs to but then he tends to slow the pace of the fight down a little bit again I actually kind of like an over in this fight a little bit Dan I think Valentine will hang around in this spot finny by decision over one and a half like those are kind of the ways I’d be looking at this fight uh but Valentine I think is the far more dangerous fighter on the feet and I don’t know what to make of him still yet I’m not sure we’ve seen the best version of Valentine as of yet so I’m not laying this price tag on torren finny I’m also not betting against him in this spot because like I said I think the Fatal come later at a a much higher hype been a much higher price tag uh this ain’t it for me so uh I’m going to pick finny to win maybe look at an over that’s all I got for you on this one yeah I’m not buying the toughness from the Valentin side reason being is if you watch some of his Regional footage uh you know he pulled an acting job in one of his fights right no I missed that which one was that the one uh that was a no contest and he ends up rematching the guy and beating him but like he pulled a straight up okay you know like a Golden Globes award-winning performance interesting Okay and like to the point where like his opponent was screaming at him and Valentine was just sitting there just looking at him like it was like like you’d think that like with the kind of Pride these Fighters have after the fight you’re in the you’re in the cage your opponent screaming at you okay I’m gonna get up and get right in his face you know you know people are going to separate you but like you know show some of that and it was like no like this dude was so defeated so so I do have questions about his mentality and then the finishes on tough were against like like you you know low low low lowlevel competition and then um you know I heard that firstly I gotta give him credit for even even admitting this because you know mental health is a real thing does not matter how confident you are how good-look how much money you make how many beautiful women you get with none none of that matters like you have no control over your mental health and he said that he battled a lot of depression after the Ryan loader fight so I give him a lot of credit for you know admitting that but I also question where’s your head out going into this because I remember uh when I bet on Lando vanata against drar close and in the in in the interviews he was talking about how he’d been dealing with depression and then he goes out there and lays a complete egg so uh I already had finny anyways I think finny’s just gonna come out here close the distance put this guy on his back and whether it’s a ground and pound TKO or or just grind him out for three rounds rounds I think Tores finny is winning this fight but just be careful because Valentine like the inet aren’t there but he’s dangerous and he’s big so yeah now this one I’m very excited about next up in the flyweight division we got a match up between Luis gurule he’s making his UFC debut he’s 10-0 taking on the vet oday Osborne the Jamaican sensation who’s 12-8 currently they got it gurli minus 265 The Comeback on Osborne’s plus 225 you already know what Osborne ring to the table he’s black explosive I mean the guy is long for the weight class you don’t often see 5 foot n 125s with like 72 inch reaches and whatnot and uh yeah man if you want to stand on the outside and kickbox with OD Osborne I mean there’s a good chance you know they’re gonna have to bring in the smelling the smelling salts and the stretcher like that’s how dangerous this guy is also you saw in that Lazy Boy fight he drops Lazy Boy and then he has Lazy Boy in a in a tight ass triangle man so like early on this this dude he serious it’s just that like what was the first thing I said 5 foot n 72 to 73 inch reach like bro you know those cuts to 125 are no [ __ ] joke and he it seems like he only has one big round in him right like after the first round he always Fades even in fights he’s won like against CJ varara faded badly in that third round against Lazy Boy faded badly in that second and third round so I think he’s got one good round in him where he could potentially stop guule I mean GLE did get dropped by Jacob Silva who’s like an 11- 10 fighter who’s like 38 years old so if that guy can drop you I’m sure oday can drop you however that being said gurli has some very special qualities about him you kind of now please guys when I you know when you compare guys making their debut to to Legendary Fighters people act like you’re saying that they’re at that ability right now I’m not saying that he’s at the ability of these Fighters I’m going to name right now what I’m saying is he shows glimpses of qualities that those Fighters showed on their come up that I like about gurule who are those Fighters volkanovski and Peter Yan why am I bringing up Peter Yan go watch that Contender series fight that guruli had against a a three-time D1 allamerican in Nick picinini which by the way guli took on like a week or two short notice because Jack Duffy pulled out the fight dude when you stuff 10 takedowns from a D1 three time allamerican and the times you do get taken down you create some insane scrambles and you end up on top yeah I I take note of stuff like that and then on the feet the faints the mixing up all the levels got a little sneaky power to go with it I like everything about this guy I think guruli is a future top 15 guy I’m gon just go ahead and say that right now you know a lot of people already heard that he’s you know Brandon Royal’s main training partner so yeah he’s already getting those high level looks all day it just comes down to uh you know mining your p’s and q’s early on I think everyone knows that I think it’s pretty obvious that you know you’re you’re going against a more UFC battle tested veteran who’s dangerous who’s explosive who can knock anybody out early but if he gets past that I think it’s it’s GLI who’s going to be the one breaking OD I think it’s GLI who’s going to be the one taking him to deep Waters and drowning him and whether it’s a second or third round finish or a unanimous decision as long as guruli doesn’t just get [ __ ] up in that first first round I think he’s going to make a statement and I think he’s going to open eyes that hey this guy’s a future top 15 guy period I like it I like it uh OD Osborne’s a guy that I’ve been doing my very best to get on the other side of when at all possible because of what you just said man you got to fade that first round and it is a butt Clincher sometimes like this guy’s got skills for the first six seven minutes of a fight but as soon as you get him out of that first round he’s a little bit of a different guy now I just need GUI to take notes from my guy Charles Johnson and don’t kick him in the dick if you don’t give him five minutes to rest halfway through the fight OD Osborne gets real tired so cruy no cup shots buddy keep them high keep them tight as long as he avoids that he’s gonna put the work on this guy he’ll slow OD Osborne down he’ll take over rounds two and three like you said Dan I don’t know if it’s going to be a a 2928 a 3027 or if he ends up getting that round three TKO or submission I’m not sure which one it is uh but I think that gry is going to get his hand raised at the end of the day and I’m pretty excited about this fight I think I’m I’m probably gonna end up with gruy in some form of a parlay this week to give Charles Johnson credit for that OD fight like when have you ever seen Charles Johnson request for an 130 pound catchweight number one because he took it on like a week short notice and two one of you ever seen Charles Johnson gas in the second and third round which never never Okay so and and he still almost arguably won that fight so so what I’m trying to say is that he didn’t really beat Charles Johnson he beat in a 130 pound Charles you know 130 pound catchweight Charles Johnson that took the fight on a week notice who was in Thailand came back with insane jet lag and still almost won the fight so uh although on the resume it looks great but um every Charles Johnson round three he’s like really turning up how come he wasn’t turning up in that fight I just explained why so uh just be careful putting stock into that but I agree with you now anything you want to add no I think that one’s one of the simpler ones on the card Dan oday Osborne is a round one fighter if he wins this fight it’s going to be in round one and for my money plus 180 plus 200 I hate betting on round one Fighters because you’re like 80% of the time gonna be sitting there in round two going bro do something and it’s too late it’s over your windows closed so I’m not into making that kind of a bet personally uh that’s that’s it I like the favorite yeah and one more thing so because all we’ve been kind of talking about is od’s kind of you know knockout potential but like what oday used to be known for is he for a guy who has like a wrestling background his takedown defense is not good and he gets put on his back a lot and early in his career he was known for getting submissions off his back if he tries that here I think he’s going to get neutralized I think he’s going to get ground impounded I think that he might actually get submitted so yeah let’s move on now next up in the bantamweight division I’m really excited about this we got Dave Grant he’s 14 and seven ticking on Danielle Willie cat Santos who’s 11 and two currently they got it Willie cat minus 155 The Comeback on dangerous Davey Grant is plus 135 Clint I love this fight you know Davy Grant it always feels good to see a guy who is he 40 yet 39 40 something like that 39 uh Dave’s 30 actually 39 yep turns 40 later this year you know to see a guy like that go out there and put up career best numbers his last fight like he did against ramont verz you love to see it now when it’s my turn to break down the fight I’ll give context on how that matchup is different than this one but uh and then with Willie cat you just got an ultra aggressive shoot the Box uh fighter so what do you think here I I hate this fight Dan I hate this fight why why it’s a great fight because daav Grant’s my boy boy like he’s been my mangy dog for all these years and I really feel like the last time I bet on him which was his last fight against Ramon tarez at slight plus money near pick them that was the one last ride Dan that was the one last ride and it makes me sad because DAV Grant’s a guy that you can count on to get in there and Slug It Out with the best this weight class has to offer and he is always always underappreciated like in fights that he should be a significant favorite he’s near even money uh or or dog money sometimes like that’s just they never give him the credit that he’s doe he’s tough as Nails he’s got stupid power he’s got a very underrated submission game something he’s improved on in his ripe old age which is not a thing we see a lot of the time when Fighters get past their Prime they don’t show crazy new wrinkles like the way he does I literally told people Dan don’t bother taking the inside the distance prop against haela sunsa he’s going to finish him but there is zero world that exists where he submits haela sunsa what did he do reverse triangles the man in the third round like I I was impressed being the one supporting my man that night so I love dangerous daav Grant and you are not enjoying a DAV Grant fight unless he’s tasting his own blood he just goes out there and stands toe-to-toe with these guys and bangs it out his face is cut open and bleeding and what does he do he smiles and walks forward not not like Juan mados or whatever last week but like actually to like do damage and throw hands right he’s got an intent behind his walking forward but he is in that fight with some of the best ever and he’s impossible to crack this guy’s never been knocked out before you can take him down he’s been submitted before it’s happened but you can always count on his chin holding up even at 37 38 years old 39 I just feel like well well but now he’s 39 and that that’s exact kind of the point here right now he’s 39 we’re getting ever so close to 40 years old Daniel is a young hot Prospect training it a great gym with one of the best fighters the UFC has ever seen I need to listen to some interviews Dan because he’s had a whole lot of pullouts due to injury recently so I need to know whether or not this kid is healthy coming back here uh he hasn’t fought since 2023 you know when he fought Johnny Muno that fight was postponed because he pulled out with an injury then they booked him against Daniel Marcos he pulled out they booked him against s nmog medov he pulled out like if those are Visa issues I got no problem if those are injury issues maybe we got an issue but at the end of the day this fight is going to be a barn burner one of these guys is getting close to 40 he’s three and three in his last six fights the other one I I think this guy’s the limit for Daniel Santos he’s a BJJ black belt he’s got power he can wrestle and that right there is the key the Achilles for Davey Grant has always been the wrestling and the grappling he can be taken down he can lose minutes and he can be submitted and you know man I thought lazy boy was going to go to the grappling last week and he decided to take the worst Avenue in that fight humanly possible and lost the decision so if Daniel Santos comes out here and doesn’t put the grappling in play Then Davy Grant is completely live if you promised me that there were no takedowns and this was a standup fight I’m betting Davey Grant without thinking about it twice but with takedowns involved this fight is very clearly a Daniel Santos fight and I’m curious as to why the price is this short I’m the guy who tells you to bet on Davy Grant I’m the believer that’s been cashing tickets on daav Grant and I’m going that’s a short price tag on Santos I need to make sure he’s healthy that’s the only thing I need to know Dan if Daniel Santos is healthy coming into this fight I think he wins and I think he makes it look easy I was hoping we were going to go head-to-head on this one but it sounds like we’re in ag green you know what’s funny regarding you talking about the price do I need to know that he’s healthy all this stuff well that’s baked into the price that’s why he’s not minus 200 that’s why he’s not minus 250 the layoff mixed with the question marks right but let’s talk real quick because DAV Grant’s last performance against ramont tarz Was His Highest output ever I mean you’ve never seen Davy Grant put up numbers like that so to see him at this Advanced age still going out there putting on performances like that you love to see it but why like how is that relevant to this matchup it’s not in any way shape or form let me explain what I mean when you sit back and you watch DAV Grant versus Ramon Tas what was the dynamic of that fight David Grant was on the outside picking this man apart and Ramon Tas was not aggressive at all he was almost kind of trying to fight pretty with Davy Grant and he was trying to sit back and counter waiting for that one big shot that never came and actually that one big shot did come in round two he dropped daav Grant and then for whatever reason lets him back up and then stops throwing again it’s like bro what are you doing whereas Daniel willly cat Santos is gonna get right in your face as soon as the bell rings and I agree with you in the sense that yeah he can mix and takedowns too I mean his Jiu-Jitsu is [ __ ] serious bro like even in that fight against John castan where he was getting rocked all over the place early on I mean I say rocked all over the place when you eat a [ __ ] Shin to the Temple you’re going to get rocked that’s not about being chinny or this or that like when people are like oh this guy got dropped by that guy it’s like bro if it was a headkick shinda chin I don’t give a [ __ ] who it was like a shind to Chin is gonna drop anyone so people really need to start using context but here’s the difference between Danielle willly cat Santos and Ramon toz Ramon TZ try to sit back counter fight pretty all that that ain’t going to work against someone so seasoned like daav Graham the guys that historically beat him uh why why did Marlon Chitto Vera beat him the second time because he went forward he was aggressive he pushed the issue the entire time that’s exactly what Daniel willly cat Santos is gonna do so where I agree with you is that yeah we can have ground success here too but where I disagree with you is you said that if I know for a fact there’s no takedowns being shot then I’m definitely playing uh Grant I I disagree if I know there’s no takedowns being shot I mean I’m not more or less confident on on Willie cat it just has no impact in how I cap the fight because I think that wiie cat’s going to beat him on the feet too I think he’s gonna cut off that cage get this guy on the back foot and punches in bunches and the thing about Willie cat it’s not like Ramone SAS where it’s just a jab and an overhand and then you know two minutes of inactivity right this guy Jabs overhands left hooks spins uppercuts flying knees leg kicks takedowns on the ground scrambling for all kinds of submissions like I think Davey’s got his hands full and I think that Saturday Night Live at the Apex in Las Vegas Nevada Daniel Wily cat Santos is gonna go out there and finish DAV Grant and David Grant’s gonna put his gloves in the center of the octagon have a beautiful moment a beautiful speech we’re all gonna shed a tear and thank you daavid grant for all the incredible fights you’ve given us throughout our years watching you you’re the man I think he’s gonna get Tapped Out Dan I think it’s going to be a submission yeah I’m down with that too you know so so uh we’ll see where the price goes uh but currently that’s something I’m eyeing so we’ll see what happens now next up in the flyweight division we got a match up between deoni Barbosa she’s seven and3 taking on Dianna belbo who’s 15 and9 so it’s Brazil versus Romania currently now here’s where things get interesting we got at Barbosa minus 1100 The Comeback on Bill beats us plus 775 um one thing I want to say before we talk about the match up let’s talk about their names do they have like the same name as just one’s the the Brazilian equivalent and one’s the Romanian equivalent like Deon Diana Barbosa belbita DB DB like do they have the same name just one’s in uh Brazilian Portuguese and one’s in uh Romanian like I’m curious man like is that not like the same [ __ ] name just in different dialects and you know different cultures like somebody hit up Google translate man you might be on to something but listen man um I think that deoni Barbosa look doesn’t take a genius to pick a minus 1100 so we’re not going to keep you here forever but like obviously the more well-rounded fighter here right um can handle can handle herself anywhere the fight goes whereas the uh belb is more of kind of I say a specialist specialist in the sense that she only gravitates towards striking right like if they if her and Barbosa just simply put on the 16 ounce gloves and no takedowns just striking then B Bea has a chance but I’m still not convinced he wins that either but now we’re talking MMA where you can mix everything up belb just strikes me as the kind of person that skips Jiu-Jitsu class and only goes to to sparring you know like and I know tons of people like that because there’s tons of people that you know I don’t know how she feels from a female’s perspective but I know from a lot of guys who like yeah I’m not going to roll around on the map with you know some sweaty guys like you know the Curtis mender effect you know so uh to quote manell cop no I’m kidding I don’t want to get you demonetized no but the thing the thing about cop is he’s firstly he’s a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu so he’s allowed to say stuff like that and he’s funny right where whereas if he was saying stuff like you shouldn’t train jiujitsu or this or that then I’d be like yo manell what the [ __ ] but manell was being funny so I’m cool with what manell said and he’s a black belt he respects it whereas deani or Dianna I wouldn’t be surprised if she said some [ __ ] like that but never showed up to Jiu-Jitsu class ever right that’s where there’s an issue but bottom line we’re talking about a minus 1100 we’ll see does Barbosa want a judo thrower to an armar does Barbosa want to test her standup possibly make it a little closer um we’ll see what happens but Barbosa I Judo throw it the armbar Dan that’s you nailed it you nailed it uh you’ve got Diana BB2 has been finished five times by submission guess what four of the five have been by armar it’s because she’s got those long ass has lanky damn arms with zero muscle on them now she’s taking on a Brazilian who’s twice as thick as I am like I don’t think she’s gonna have any issues snagging an arm and then just overpowering her and bullying her physically because uh realistically Barbosa can win this fight almost any way that she wants to except maybe by knockout I will give B beza credit she is extremely tough but I think at a certain point she’s going to realize I’ve got such an advantage on the ground she’ll just take the easy money I fully expect her to get this and grappling at some point and even if she fails to take the back or even if you get one good defense from Diana or she tries to reverse the arm’s gonna be there it’ll just it’s gonna be that parachute of all right fine I’ll take the win I think eventually she snags her arm and puts her away now next up in the welterweight division we got a match up between Rees mck 136 and one taking on Daniel frunza who’s nine and two currently they got it frunza minus 150 The Comeback on mck plus 130 this is one uh um that I’m really looking into because frunza uh I was not impressed at all with his Regional footage one bit um and I said that going into the contenders fight that I’m worried about him on contenders I’m even more worried about this guy in the UFC but I do want to give him credit because one thing about frunza although he’s massively lacking in the Striking defense and the takedown defense and the submission defense and just everything and he’s slow as hell and and this but one thing about Daniel frunza that I can say everything he throws is 100% and this guy has a will to win and a determination that far uh surpasses his skills right so his skills they’re still developing they just really ain’t there at the moment but he’s gonna try hard and he’s gonna he’s gonna go forward and he he’s going to throw the entire time so you got to give him credit for that now on the other side of Ree mcke so he’s had a lot of success outside the UFC you know won the cage Warriors belt I know at least once but possibly twice and um beat some good guys on his reg I mean he knocked out Jay ji Herbert who’s currently in the UFC you know um Ludovic Klein couldn’t knock out ji Herbert you know what I’m saying um and you know when you get fed hamzat chamay on Seven Day short notice when you’re in your 20s you’re fighting a prime Alex Morano he had to go back to his Regional scene to up a little bit but then he comes back and it still hasn’t gone his way but like jitty Andre kuani is these are these guys are on different levels than frunza I feel like this is more of like one of those fights he would have gotten cage Warriors where Rees mcki used to style on guys like this and uh the issue I had with reys obviously you know what it is the tall man’s defense maybe doesn’t assert himself as much as he should and you also have to question you know coming off all these losses where’s your head at like do you want it as bad as you once did do you still believe in yourself as much as you once did do you still think you belong in the UFC or are you one of these guys that’s just happy to say you made it to the UFC but you’ll always be a cage Warriors Legend so it’s no big deal like where’s Reese mck’s head at now I was talking to a buddy of mine who I respect a lot and he sent me an interview with mcke and it seems like mcke changed some things mentally here you know he seems like he’s Allin but talk is cheap I I need to see it inside the Octagon now I think this is a doger pass situation I think that frunza leaves a ton of openings and although he is tough he is willing to bite down and go forward I think that he’s GNA struggle with the five inch reach advantage of Reese mcke and um I think Rees really does have a chance to come out here and get his first UFC win and I might take a shot it’s just I promis myself I wasn’t going to bet on any shitty fighters in 2025 but man I I have serious concerns about frunza especially his current form and Reese mcke kid you really have crushed The Grapes like let’s go ahead and drink that wine it’d be really nice to see you have your moment even if it’s just once it’d be nice to see this kid win a UFC fight so I’m gonna go ree mcke here for the upset I like it Dan I like it and I’m going to go one step further I’m going to hit that round three finish prop on Reese mcke this week that’s been it’s been staring Us in the face Dan the amount of UFC fighters that Reese mcke has had on the ropes in round three but just not quite been able to get rid of you mentioned he’s a different guy in cage Warriors you give this guy a little bit of a step down and that’s exactly what he’s doing you look back and I I’m already I’m looking at his typology right now there’s three round three finishes already right at the top of these guys that he’s beaten over in cage Warriors he is a builder he gets better the deeper the fight goes and I think Daniel funzo wants to do the same thing he just doesn’t have the skill the technique or the height and the reach of a guy like Reese mcke so he’s going to be punching uphill against the guy who wants to do the same thing that he’s going to do against the guy who’s got more UFC experience than he does I I just think that this is finally the spot where Reese mcke gets a guy he can do it to he’s gonna have that reach Advantage it’s gonna be sketchy early but Reese’s durability has checked out in the UFC unless your name’s Hamot you’re not getting him out of there and then he cooks you yeah and I’m expecting him to cook this guy I do think it’s going to be a ree mck round three finish I am extremely tempted on that money line same as you are but like you’ve sworn to not bet bad Fighters Dan all I do is BET bad Fighters so every bet I’ve got on this card is bad so I’m just trying to figure out how many bad bets I want to put into play this week [Laughter] okay yeah man now next up in the bantamweight division we got a match between the ultra vet Victor Henry’s 24-7 taking on Pedro fala who’s 16-4 currently they got Henry minus 205 The Comeback on F Sal plus 175 has the potential to be a Grappler Delight uh how you see this match up going now oh you know man this is one of the ones that’s a bit of a mystery to me uh Victor Henry is a guy that outperformed what I expected when he came over I I’ll be completely honest I owe Victor Henry an apology I was not a familiar with your game Victor uh now that he’s 37 years old though he’s kind of falling into Davy Grant territory for me you know what I mean he’s getting up there he’s making some mistakes I don’t want to P the Charles jordaine thing against him too badly in his last fight but that was near fely level stunt he pulled like he defended the guillotine and then he put his neck right back in it that I know he got caught off guard but those are the kinds of slips that you start to make as you’re getting a little bit older the thing is this Pedro falca guy Dan I just don’t know what to make of him he’s 32 years old he fought on Dana White’s Contender Series in a point in time where uh they had standard so he didn’t get signed if he fought on Dana White’s Contender series you know this year he’d have been signed with that third round finished Victory no problem no questions asked kid get in here uh but things were a little different back in 2021 uh I don’t know that he is really ready for this level I like the way he relentlessly comes forward I really do I just don’t know that he’s got enough on the feet to really break people and if he can’t get a dominant position on the ground you know Victor Hugo is is sneaky really good here in the UFC so uh I know that’s not an easy thing to do against Victor Hugo he might be able to get those kind of positions on a guy like Victor Henry but if Victor plays this thing right Skates on the outside uses that movement that footwork that volume I don’t know that fala is the kind of guy that’s going to get the respect with the hands I feel like he’s going to be chasing him all night trying to get this thing to the ground and if he can’t get it to the ground I don’t think he’s got a path to Victory so it comes down to Victor Henry having the right game plan I kind of feel like this is a Victor Henry decision type of spot but at the same time if falca gets the grappling going this guy’s nasty on the mat he’s a specialist I could see him getting a submission but I I think I’m gonna trust Victor Henry one last time well I’m not even gonna trust him I’m gonna say Victor Henry gets one more win Dan I’m I’m gonna pick Victor Henry to win this fight I do not think I’m gonna bet him at a two to1 clip and uh you know some people got mad at me on my show on Monday because apparently I I told gym Secrets or something like that but Dan uh there’s a guy that has a win over falca on his record you go all the way back to 2015 Joey Miola he’s a local Arizona boy I trained with that guy at Power MMA and fitness I rolled with that guy power MMA and fitness and I was joking on myself more than I was joking on Joey but we were blue belts at the same time so i’ I’ve tapped that guy before and if I’ve tapped somebody that beat you in an MMA fight I just don’t think you’re going to be UFC caliber kid like that’s all it comes down to Joey obviously made massive improvements after I was done uh being in the training room with him he went on to have an actual MMA career he’s since hung it up and retired so he’s he’s long since been done but there was a day that he beat Pedro fala by decision and uh I’m I’m not gonna trust this guy because I I personally know a guy on his record that beat him that you know he had some stuff to work on himself so I for me it’s Victor Henry or nothing I got a bona pick about the Dana White Contender Series standard for last season only for last season only because I did feel that last season was a massive Step Up compared to a couple prior Seasons I mean bro maner Abdul Malik Malcolm wellmaker jacobe Smith Cody Haden David Martinez ativa goodier we had some [ __ ] studs on this last season now that being said as far as how these two match up it’s tough because Henry he’s kind of got that catch wrestling style the Josh Barnett style and then falca you know high level Jiu-Jitsu but but not the most physical guy and he’s kind of like a lay and prey type guy and you you brought up how Henry got finished last fight and that I’m glad you brought that up because you know his record is 24 and S it was 24- six at the time that means he had had 30 Pro fights and he had never been finished once right and that was the first time he had ever been finished in 30 Pro fights right and you got to understand that my boy’s 37 years old right he turns 38 in a month or two so Victor is getting to the point now where things that used to not happen are starting to happen point in case getting finish your last fight something that never happened in 30 Pro fights um now to jordon’s credit that was a power Guillotine and it’s hard to escape those even though you know the positioning seem weird with the legs it like it was kind of halfish or whatnot it was more so the leverage of that power Guillotine it’s it’s just those long man chokes are a [ __ ] problem to get out of but um as far as how these match up so historically back to the historic talk like we talked about that with dvaras and and mirar right how historically Tavarez beats Mir Shar but mirar might be in a better form right now historically Henry beats F fsau I mean like the numbers Henry put up against hyoni barcelos was like what it was like 300 something uh significant but dude but let me look how [ __ ] long ago was that fight right like that [ __ ] was when three years ago right so three years ago doesn’t sound like that long but when you’re about to be 38 yeah it was that long ago in these terms so although I I’m not sure what to expect from fala I would not I wouldn’t be surprised if he won like like he’s not bad by any means he’s just not he’s just very underwhelming right like I I like I told you at the beginning I watched the fight and then I went back to hear why Dana did or didn’t sign him and the reason Dana didn’t sign fala he was like he’s like you’re good I can see you being here one day I I’m just not feeling it tonight sorry that was it that was literally it I’m just not feeling it you know because does anyone feel a lay and prey performance unless you got big money on the guy that lay lay and prey no you don’t so this one I’m really not sure and I also don’t feel comfortable laying minus two something on Victor but fala is a bigger unknown for me at this current moment so for that reason I’m gonna pick Victor Henry but I have zero interest in laying a price like that on him in his current form now next up in the strawweight division we got a match between Vanessa deopa she’s 11- six taking on toita Allen car who’s 51 and one currently they got it a pick him with a slight lean on Allen car minus 115 Allen car minus 105 demopoulos uh what do you you think man I think that this fight is going to look a lot like the Morata kako fight except toita Allen Carr is willing to throw a little bit I think this is going to be a very close fight with these two ladies except we’ve got one who’s a higher level Jiu-Jitsu player who’s adding the wrestling versus a lower level Jiu-Jitsu player who’s more than willing to play off of her back Dan and when you get that set up you’re going to get the stronger Grappler in top position give me the stronger Grappler Vanessa demopoulos I know has had a really good run in some of these decisions some of them deserving some of them not so much I know she’s only been submitted by way of [ __ ] like she’s never been she doesn’t get submitted unless you’re holding on to her gloves let’s just say that uh so I know her sub defense is gonna hold up in this spot but delita allanar is the younger of the two fighters she is a world class Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and uh what what was it that Damen Maya I think said back when he was training that if you’ve got the ability to be world class in one discipline you know how to put the effort into become world class at another discipline I think it was either it was either him or somebody was talking about him I can’t remember uh but toita allanar is working heavily on her wrestling game you can tell by her social media stuff and I think that’s the right move if you’re jiujitsu player and your best aspect of your game is when you’re on top of people get good at taking people down not enough Jiu-Jitsu people do that in this game in my opinion so I’m happy she’s doing that and I expect her to come out and wrestle demopoulos Vanessa’s never seen a takedown that she wasn’t willing to jump underneath so I fully expect her to end up on her back and I think that’ll be the fight Dan I I think we’re going to get a 15minute fight where toita Allen Carr wins two of the rounds maybe she can work her way to a sub I tend to give Vanessa a little more credit than that I think it’s toad up by decision all right so two things my my issue with Alan car is this she came from you know she has like serious Jiu-Jitsu credentials right like like serious Jiu-Jitsu like like serious right but it’s that I hear a dog barking uh does that mean that we might pick them yeah I know we need someone to hit dog odds for for to justify that but um so she’s got incredible Jiu-Jitsu pure Jiu-Jitsu skills right but the thing about it is man I’ve had an issue with how she’s transitioned to MMA see like there’s a one round gas tank it seems like there’s no other options if the grappling is not there and um she’s also not the youngest in terms of just starting out your career right like you think someone around her age would have already had Twi double the experience you know so that’s a big concern for me now as far as demopoulos we’ll get to the amarim arbar in a sec because I do have an opinion on that but before we talk about that one thing I like about uh demopoulos a lot is that you know similar to frunza she doesn’t have the prettiest technique whatsoever it do like but she gives effort she tries like in that fight against uh Emily ducot which actually scored like 3027 ducot but but I know why demopoulos won that fight and it was the non-stop effort man like and she’s got some sneaky hard kicks and stuff she was like kicking ducot in the face and stuff and like she’ll she goes for it and going for it as long as she’s not getting subbed early here that should be enough now regarding the amarim um you know cheat gate or whatever to me what you blame more is demopoulos lack of of focus why why do I say that so um I believe it was the left arm where she hooked the glove right but it was the right arm that got armbarred so you got that backwards other way around okay so so but you’re correct she she hooked the glove on one side and armbarred the other side yes so let’s let’s restart she hooked the the right glove armbarred the left arm correct now while she hooked the right glove Vanessa completely sto fighting and started talking to the ref like which you’re not supposed to do like you she lost her concentration completely and in that moment amarim grabbed the other arm game set match and she tapped out so yes there was a little cheating but to me it’d be a lot worse if she hooked the arm that she armed bar so so so like for example when you look at a fight between Yan bovich and Alexander Rockit right and you saw Alexander Rocket’s uh I think it was his right knee that gave out but Jan had been kicking his left leg all night so people are automatically like oh I mean of course his knee gave out Yan had been kicking him all night but it’s like bro Yan was kicking his left leg and it was the right leg that gave out so here I’m kind of like she hooked the right the right glove and armbarred the left so to me I actually although yeah yeah it was dirty whatever but I blame Vanessa for losing her cool in that moment and in turn losing the fight and tapping out so could that could that happen here and even without uh you know hooking the glove yeah it could happen here I mean toita is that dangerous but it has to happen early in my opinion it really has to happen early otherwise demopoulos is winning that second and third round just on activity alone so I’m gonna go Demopolis via decision but I’m obviously not riding off the possibility of someone with Allen car’s credentials you know making something happen but uh I just have questions about Allen car’s commment to MMA uh her confidence and yeah and whereas Vanessa is more proven in this sport so for that reason I’m going to take her fair enough now last but not least damn we’ve been flying through this bro we got in the strawweight division we got Estella Nuna she’s six and five taking on lomma luk Bui who’s nine and three currently they got it LMA minus 725 The Comeback on nunz is plus 525 you don’t often see LMA in there with people that are 0 and4 in the UFC but Nunes although she is 0 and4 in the UFC there are a couple things that you can say you know she’s had a great first round in three of those four fights and um definitely shows like some Talent is just she also Fades down the stretch in fights right um but I will say this take this for what it’s worth maybe it means a lot maybe it means absolutely nothing Estella Nunes has been seeing a a mental coach for for this fight take that for take that for what it’s worth now I know who the guy is and I know some of the fighters that this guy has worked with um and I know that they’ve gotten good results working with him now again that’s neither here nor there that doesn’t mean that’s going to translate to Estella nunas winning at the UFC level because those Fighters I mentioned were at a regional level right and they’re just different people to begin with just different individuals like we were talking about with Ryan span and Kennedy different individuals but at least Estella Nunes is trying to address that part right like you know if there was some kind of mental lapses or checking out after you know you have S you have such success early but the opponent is still there at least you’re addressing the mental side of things but the thing about it is LMA isn’t at a stage where she’s figuring out her mind or where she’s figuring out who she really is as a fighter LMA knows exactly who the hell she is and I got so much respect for LMA because think about this dude when you come into the UFC and how how yeah they got her at 5-1 with a 61 inch reach dog she’s like 49 first of all and uh like this girl like went out from just being like a straight up Muay Thai Fighter to she’s rounded out her game a little bit man I like what I’ve been seeing like those early UFC fights she was getting taken down it was like a standup or bus situation but now she’s coming out here and I’ve really been enjoying what I’ve been seeing on the ground he got a submission in the UFC which like that might not sound like a big deal but it’s a [ __ ] huge deal when you’re like when you’re coming in here with only Muay Tha experience and she’s beat some you know the kind of people that like you know like a Sam Hughes you see what Sam Hughes is doing to all these prospects setting back Prospect after Prospect after Prospect getting getting a win like that and then now putting together a nice little win streak she’s School Bruno Brazil so one thing I do know is that LMA has got her [ __ ] together LMA is in her prime form Lomo is a minus 725 favorite with Estella it’s a question mark right she should come she could come out here and be the best version of herself we’ve ever seen but you just don’t know and since I don’t know I’m gonna have to pick the big favorite but it’s a actually a dog or pass situation in my opinion at the beding window for me it’s a pass yeah Dan this uh this is a tough fight because I’ve been team LMA for a long time now love watching this chick fight I mean she’s poetry and motion on the feet but there are large moments of inactivity she likes to have people coming at her she likes to counter she likes to make you pay when you overreach a little bit the problem is she’s fighting somebody in this fight who wants to do a similar thing you’ve got a fighter who’s searching for her first win in the UFC and Estella Nunes who likes to use footwork who likes to stay on the outside who likes to make you chase her and then walk you into big Power shots and I’m sorry I I know she’s working with a mental coach and that’s all fine but that’s not going to change the way she fights in the cage you wouldn’t think she’s not suddenly gonna become a stomping walk forward Terminator and give LMA the fight that she wants so I think we’re going to get large moments of inactivity in this fight between these two women and whenever that happens things get a little squirly on the judges scorecards I’m kind of with you from a moneyline perspective that I think it could be a dog or pass situation you might want to check out the spreads when they finally get out there at some of the shops like DraftKings that offer them because of plus five and a half with this kind of a number you could get a hairy judge that goes the wrong way on a round that very very much makes that an easy bet to cash an a 2928 which is something we’ve seen from dominant performances in the past from Loma luk buoni you you can dominate Dan and still only win a 2928 decision we’ve seen it before so if you get a plus three and a half that covers easily I think it’s a dog pass perspective for for betting however uh one thing that you mentioned was the submission I actually called the sub that night uh from my girl lomma luk me she’s been working very very hard on that grappling and now I believe she’s at Syndicate MMA is where she’s working at right now I kind of would expect her to have more grappling involvement I would think she would look to well round out her grappling her her overall MMA game and if she does that I could also very much see her cooking this girl and getting a late submission in this spot too the problem for me is it comes down to Loma Luni and how she wants to uh address this fight if she comes out looking for takedowns if she comes out looking to mix it up then I think she’s gonna get a finish but if she comes out to myay Tha strike because she knows she’s got a massive Muay Thai Edge over a girl that wants to play the same cards as her then she’s just gonna sit there and kickbox her to death and it’ll be a 15-minute dominant decision Victory so it’s tough to have a call Pre flop without knowing anything because I think LMA is fully capable of getting a round two or round three sub if she wants to otherwise it it’ll be a decision and it could be a very close fight now Clint before we get out of here the fans have been requesting this so let’s give the fans what they want now we got to talk about the fight to watch and the fighter to watch so Clint mlan in your opinion what is the fight to watch at UFC Vegas 105 the fight to watch on this card I think has got to be Davey crant and Daniel Santos like that that’s just got fight of the Night written all over it even if Daniel does get that finish Davey Grant’s gonna put him through hell before he gets there so that fight should be an absolute Banger Dan it’s one that could and maybe should get finished and then somehow ends up going all 15 minutes with both guys battered and bloody at the end of it I love Davy Grant fights so that’s the fight to watch for me for me the fight to watch is the battle between the two vets Brad tarez or as we like to say in Brazil Brad Tavarez and uh Gerald Mira man I mean Gerald mhaw has got the most submissions in UFC middleweight history and I mean we’re talking about a division that Anderson Silva ruled a division that Damian Maya competed in hoist Gracie I mean like come on man this guy’s got more submissions than all of them Brad savarez 80% takedown defense in a 15 years sample size bro and always been just either in the top 15 or the cusp of the top 15 two real ogs and you know when when guys like that respect each other so much with guys like this they’re gonna go right after each other there’s different kinds of respect with some guys they respect each other to where oh they’re gonna stare they’re gonna high five they’re gonna do all this [ __ ] whereas these two they’ll do their high-fiving and hugging at the weigh-ins but when it comes time to fight believe you me to quote Michael BisMan make no mistake About It Gerald mirar and Brad tarz are going to get after it and for that reason that is my fight to watch Clint who is your fighter to watch for UFC Vegas 105 Dan there’s two undefeated fighters on this card and I think the fighter to watch is gonna be Luis guruli I think he’s gonna be the one you want to keep your eyes on because this is a big test and like we talked about he’s got to go through hell in round one survive the early ons of ode Osborne and then let’s see what this kid is made of he’s not going to rely on on a boring game plan or style he’s going to come forward and try to put violence on ode Osborne the deeper this thing goes and like we both talked about we kind of tend to think he’s gonna make a statement this week I think Luis gry is the one to keep your eye on yeah you stole mine and he is a guy to look out for because I think he’s got future top 15 potential for me I’m gon go with actually surprisingly reys mcke bro you went 0 and2 in your first UFC stint you went back to cage Warriors and I mean he beat some legit you know outside the UFC Talent you know Justin burlinson uh wallhead you know guys like that that’s who you’re supposed to beat outside the UFC and you come back things still haven’t gone your way but now he’s got a significant step down in competition like he’s no longer fighting I mean Hamza chimaya future Champion Alex Morano over 20 UFC fights anoa just a [ __ ] cocked strong [ __ ] and chitty andani as experienced as they get who’s on quietly on a little three-fight win streak at wel trit even though he missed weight against zesi which pissed me off but uh either way like that’s some pretty stiff competition uh compared to frunza like Rees kid I’d love I’d love to see you come out here and even if this is your only UFC win just to have that one moment like he really has Paid Dues it’ feel good to see M you know he’s going to cry if he gets his arm raised he’s going to have his nice speech and get a get like a welcome home party you know a celebration like this is a huge deal uh you know for UK MMA wait hold on excuse me don’t kill me don’t kill me don’t kill me is I is Ireland even technically considered UK that’s a great question I’m not a geology major like I I swear there’s like so there’s so many like little intricacies you know Ireland compared to Northern Ireland and this and that so like but as far as I’m says Ireland is in the UK and by the way everybody that was a joke I know it’s geography I I hope you guys caught that I’m not that big of a [ __ ] yeah um you know it’s been a while since I was in school but uh I I did graduate college for what it’s wor no I’ll [ __ ] aside guys I went to art school man so you got more than I do there [ __ ] I wish I went to our school might have done me better than going to business school but that being said guys it it feel good to see ree mck get his moment you know so so I hope he does well Clint I want 2. Lfg Dan! Love Clint, dude just has an infectious attitude. Good luck this week boys!! Maybe reuniting with Jon Kelly next or potentially CJ Saftic? 👊🏼🔥

  3. When Dan talks about fighters crushed grapes.. i’m on that line & i’m pouring wine. Lets go McKee

  4. Here he is again, bragging about tapping a training partner. This guy is a blue belt for life. What happens on the mats, stays on the mats. Disgraceful behavior. His attitude to me shows he was never into BJJ or martial arts and likely quit years ago. If not, I'd like to visit his gym and tap him like 40 times then post video links to it in his comments section. He broke one of the golden rules, so it's fair game lol.

  5. Lerone Murphy against Barboza is 4th highest sig strikes landed in a featherweight ever, behind Holloway vs kattar, Holloway vs Ortega, and Holloway vs Yair.
