AI150, T150, and I240. First of all, we’re having some building works done, so apologies for any noise you will hear in today’s video. So, battle of the faster players irons, as it’s kind of known, because it’s not the players distance like the T250 and a P790, but it’s not at the players end like the T 100. So, it’s kind of that in between category. We’re going to be putting them headto-head today against each other on GC Quad. We got Tommy boy doing the hitting all of the data with them. You know how we do it. Quick comparison. Trying to limit the talking today because of the noise. But yeah, as always, show you all the numbers and all that jazz. So, we’re going to start off in the i240 shaft remaining the same. We’ll show you the specs as and when we do each club. So, you know, the lofts are slightly different. We’re going to be leaving them factory standard. We’re not going to be matching them today. We’re going to be playing them as they’re designed to be played and that’s how we’re going to be comparing them. So, yeah, start off in the brand new i240 and yeah, see what we think. That was my first proper swing, I would say. Go in. It’s a nice line. Probably the best shot so far when they’re being the loudest. Four degrees down. That’s better. Slightly better efficiency. 156 carry. 6,000 spin. Still a bit on the high side for you. Yep. Peak 104, descent 49. So, I mean, you’d have that probably be that probably over 50 degree descent angle outside. So, yeah, lots of stopping power. That’s nice. Yeah, that was a nice shot. Again, getting controlled locked a little better. Yes. Yeah. You say 156, mid 150 is about right for your delivery and your speed with this specific club. It’s just it is launching and spinning a bit too much really for you. But again, I mean, you know, playing at a 155, 160 high, it’s coming in steep, you know. Wouldn’t say it’s an optimal performing club for you though in all honesty, is it? It’s not something we would fit you into. Yeah, you’re right. for for for optimizing for me probably not. But no. Yeah. Quite enjoying hitting it so far. How does it feel? Does it feel? Yeah. No. To be honest, I actually think it feels quite nice. It feels relatively soft off the face. Yeah. Um doesn’t I’m not getting a clicky sound. No. You know, on the better strikes um couple of clunky strikes early on, but no, the the good strikes out the middle sound pretty good. Feel pretty good. Sounded good. Yeah, those I’d say those three swings ironically are probably like on top of each other for number. Yeah. Um Yeah, that’s it’s good. Kind of does what we expected, right? At 33 degrees lofts, launching high, spinning high for me. Yeah. Um but actually control of distance is really good. Yeah. Very little standard deviation, isn’t it, in those numbers once I’ve started controlling my swing. There’s been a couple of mis hits, but I mean there’s a 1552 153 156 156 153. two slight mis hits dropping down to 145 and 148. But a 152 152 average carry, it’s pretty strong. It’s really good. And like obviously with this type of iron, you could argue that, you know, front to back standard deviation or the precision front to back is kind of what you’re looking for if you’re starting to get into this iron, right? You want that control. Yeah. You know, for a slot probably, you know, arguably for a slightly better player. Um but yeah, they want to control that front to back distance. Sounded good. Yeah, that was a that was a good swing. I again think I hit that pretty good. Again, that’s just it’s on the number, isn’t it? It’s very consistent number. Yeah, really consistent. And that wasn’t as good a strike as some of those 155 numbers. And we’ve lost three yards there. Yeah, I was going to say that’s actually a little bit low heel. Yeah, it was felt it. Yeah, felt it. Not a great strike, but yeah, you would barely know that on the golf course. That’s a really, really good result. If you look at that launch and spin again, like that’s deviating almost nothing from the good shot, is it? Palmer’s 22 launch 6,000 spin was a really good shot. So yeah, very consistent numbers, which is exactly what you want from the iron. Like you said, that’s a pretty fair representation of the i240 numbers there. I would say 110 ball speed, 23 launch, 6,000 spin, 153 carry, hitting that kind of little pull draw, pull draw shot, but I mean again, we said little bit high for you, but you know, on average numbers, that’s a fair representation just to compare against the other heads into the T150. We’ll put the specs on the screen now for you. Um, just an issue looks wise down by the ball. Yeah, I think it looks clean, doesn’t it? It’s definitely a much smaller profile uh than the Ping. Um, almost certainly. But I mean, I play the previous generation T150, so for me that looks like comfortable. Yeah. I just I love the look. So, it’s noticeably smaller or not really. If you put them side by side, yeah, it’s definitely um much much bigger in in the toe, sort of higher and just looks thicker. Yes, it’s definitely a bigger profile. That sounded nice. Yeah, they do sound good, don’t I? These T-150s. Wow. You turned that one over a little bit, but it it looked like it came out of a bit of a lower window. I did. I think again just I think it’s just a variation in my swing, but I did take a little bit more loft off that looking at quad. Yeah, I think a lot of it comes down to that face being a bit closer, isn’t it? Loft comes down and therefore launch and spin comes down and carry goes up. That sounded pretty good. Yeah, if anything that was a tiny bit clean. Yeah, groove low. Yeah, it’s done well for a for that strike has. Yeah, I was about to say there was one very similar to that strike with the ping, weren’t there? They were very similar. Again, pretty good delivery. 154 carry, 21 launch, 6,000 spin. It’s 9 mil heel, 13 mil low. That one there was 9 mil heel, 14 mil low with the ping. And that’s 22 and a half launch, 59 backspin, 152 carry. Like that is very, very similar numbers, isn’t it? Kind of the same, isn’t it? Very similar. That launched fractionally higher. Spin was the same. Carry within a couple of yards. Yeah, it’s pretty very comparable. Sounded good. Yeah, that felt good. They do feel good. They definitely feel the feels it’s more like buttery than the ping. It definitely does feel a little bit softer. A bit. Don’t know. It feels hit, but it feels soft. I mean, that was a perfect strike. Perfect strike. And again, it still spins a lot, right? We’re expecting you to spin these irons a lot. You are a bit of a spinny Joe, you know. Yes. High launch, high spin, probably a little bit lower than the ping we’d probably expect. We’ll see in the average numbers. Little bit less. So therefore, we get a little bit more carry out of it. Um, but still plenty of height. 109 ft in the air. 50%. I mean, yeah, none of these irons you would have to worry about stopping, would you? No, that wasn’t the best. That was a little in the neck, that one. Tell you what, though. It’s done so well for that. Well, well, again, people would say going into an iron like that, you would really expect to see less forgiveness, but I would, in my mind, I would always say 150 no different to 250. I mean, we’ve done so many testing, haven’t we? Like game improvement versus players. It’s so hard to quantify drop off. And to be honest, I don’t really think that’s that much in it at all. I mean, like you say, low heel, 21 launch, 5700 backspin, 154 carry down the line. I mean, yeah, it’s a great result. Super consistent, hitting the numbers. This strikes getting away with it. Like, what more do you want from an iron really? Yeah. And yeah, that as a comparison, pretty much what we expected to see and kind of what we were seeing in the testing there. I mean, a hair more ball speed from the T-150, but I feel like that would equalize out a little bit over the more shots you hit. I mean, you might get a little bit more from the T150 because it is that one degree stronger in loft. The loft. Yeah. Little bit lower launch, couple hundred revs lower spin, couple extra yards of carry. Pretty much exactly what you’d expect to see from one degree stronger in loft, really, isn’t it? Exactly that. Yeah. Not a dramatic jump, but edging towards being slightly better for you. For me personally, yes. Yeah, absolutely. Um, yeah, it’s good. It’s a fair comparison, isn’t it? So, so far from those two picking down by the ball, you go in 240 or T-150. I think it’s a really easy choice. It’s the T T150 for me. Just smaller profile, slimmer top line. Okay. Looks in the back. Yeah, I Yeah, T150. Pretty easy Pretty easy decision as well. Feel? Um, yeah, the feel they both felt pretty good to be fair, but I I do like that kind of duller, crunchier, solid feeling of the T150. T150. So, it’s T150. T150. T150. And probably for you just about edging wise, performance is T150. So, so far it’s pretty clean sweep for you as a T150. And again, calm, it might not be for you. Just bear that in mind. Right, AI 150. So, again, specs up on the screen now. We’re going to do the same thing. Hit load, see what we think, show you some shots, and then compare the data. actually sounded really good. Yeah, it was. It was again it was a little bit potentially a little thin maybe again 157 carry. Strong. Yeah, it’s definitely strong in the warm-up. I think we noticed that, didn’t we? I don’t know. It’s pretty good strike. Not bad at all. Efficiency. Okay. I say a little lofty again. I mean, this is the strongest lofted head. This is 31, isn’t it? So, it’s half a club stronger than the ping. So, you know, you got a little bit lofty on that one. So low spin considering that though it’s under six with those other two heads. That would definitely be quite above six I would say. Sounded good. Just comes off like a bit of a cannon. I mean that is just jumping, isn’t it? Like that absolutely jumping. Feels jumpy. Yeah. Feels really jumpy off the face. Yeah. I mean that’s a strong strong delivery from you, wasn’t it? Like that little bit of a start left bit of a draw again. Spin. That’s just again efficiency was good. So that spin is unbelievably low. I know again it was a little bit of a pull draw shot, but that spin is really really dropped. Yeah, it’s comparable to the others in terms of delivery. It’s kind of I’ve been hitting that pulled roll with the other clubs. It’s just it is low spin. It’s just there’s no doubt about it. You’ll feel that it just pops off the face like real jumpy. Comes out hot. Yeah, this makes this potentially work for me. This sort of iron, doesn’t it? Cuz I can get too spinny cuz that on the course is going to spin a little bit more so it becomes a bit more manageable. Yeah, we found this in the other models the 200 and 300 like low spin like low low spin. So if you spin it too much the cano irons are probably quite a good option for you. Yeah, like that feels really good. Feels so strong though. So would you straight off the bat would you say that feels better to you than the T-150? I I mean it feels so different. Better is a subjective word, right? It’s like it feels really jumpy. If I wanted something that I felt like was just going to be super powerful, then yeah, this feels really jumpy. A lot of people won’t believe that you’re off five, unfortunately. You know, you know, you’re a good player, right? So, yes. Uh, yeah. Thanks, mate. Yeah. Um, so you want to be hitting those numbers, right? Distance is everything with iron. It’s not about distance, is it really? At this end of the bag, you know, this is a a mid scoring iron. Yeah, absolutely. There you go. That sounded nice. That was absolutely ripped. That was a rip snort. Sit down. Wow. For goodness sake. Stop jumping. God, big jumping, ain’t it? Yeah, it has. Yeah, it has. Just it’s just remarkably lower spin, isn’t it? I mean, so far we’re down at 53 average, the shots that we’ve hit compared to 57 with the T-150 and basically 6,000 with the 240. So, yeah, dramatic difference from the 240. It’s an interesting one. like you you mentioned a second ago you like you didn’t you don’t feel like this is almost in the same category. I don’t know with that person who wants a little bit more distance but potentially isn’t as concerned of the pinpoint front to back dispersion kind of that almost maybe slots down more towards the players distance side of things. It’s kind of what it feels like to me that feels like it’s a rival more for a player’s distance just with how it feels the pop and even the spin. I mean that’s about as good a swing as I can make. And look at that. It’s just mad, isn’t it? Just absolutely jumps, flies. Yeah. But you say it’s just feels like it’s just not in the same category. Yeah. Pretty consistent sort of like again similar down that left side a little bit, but you can see that that front to back is worse. It’s almost like more of a round circle whereas the the 240 and T-150, they’re almost like oval. It shows obviously the left to right slightly bigger, but the front to back looks a little tighter. It’s a little bit bigger in it. That that AI 150 circle. Little bit more ball speed again expected from that slightly lower loft. Little little bit lower launch but not much compared to the T-150. Dramatically lower spin. Yeah. Like even compared to the T-150, but really really dramatic compared to the i240. And therefore we see that jump five yards extra on the T-150, seven yards extra on the 240. So it’s got that jump in in distance. But a lot of that, like we say, it’s coming a little bit from ball speed, but a lot of it’s just spin. Yeah, 100%. And even that kind of like that top top line number for each as well, isn’t it? It’s like AI 2 150 felt like it could really kick on. Uh, you know, whereas the other two felt like they were always topping out a couple of yards above the average. So we had a 156 longest with a 240 and we averaged 153. That’s so that’s only three yards back. We had a 160 longest carry with the T-150. We averaged 155. Again, not too bad. And then we have we had a 167 carry with the AI 150 and drops down to 160. again that kind of like average to best is is wider looks and feel compared to the others. Um yeah, I do actually really like the look. Smaller profile. It’s got quite a nice slim top line. Actually quite like the chrome finish. I think it looks pretty good down by the ball. Um so I’d probably pick it second over T150. I’d say T150 first on on topline looks. Um AI 150 second and then the Ping I’d put third. Yeah. Um back of the club again, it just looks really good, you and then the 150. Um I no I I still I still like the uh I still like the classic look of the T-150. I mean this looks a little bit more sort of I don’t know mechanical with kind of like the black back plate for me. I like quite like it quite clean. Yeah. Um but still looks like a really nice club and you would you definitely look like a player with that in the bag. Yeah. Um so yeah, you put that you’d put that above the the 240 in terms of the back the back looks. Yeah, in terms of the back looks. Yeah. Yeah. 100%. So, in terms of overall looks, uh, I would definitely rank them. Yeah. T-150, AR-150, and then the I240. So, T150 is clearly I I’d say probably overall a little bit of a winner for you really. I mean, you you just would maybe want a touch more spin from that. The T like ideal sort of number for you from a spin rate perspective of a 7R, you’re probably looking at about mid5ives. So, I would out of those three, I’d probably be picking the T-150 for you in fairness. Um, and Ping for you kind of at the bottom of the pile from look, feel, and performance then really, isn’t it? Yeah. And it’s a shame because, you know, I think Ping have tried to do something innovative with this iron. You know, they’ve tried to introduce some some different things versus what they’ve done recently uh from what we’ve been told some of these reviews is that by no way means that it’s a a worse iron because it’s not. Definitely not a worse iron. Like your preference of look, sound, and feel is one thing. That’s going to be completely different for everyone. So, you know, that that could be ranked number one for loads of people out there. And then someone else could need more launch and spin and that would be number one for them. So, by no way does it mean it’s a bad iron, just for you and your preferences and the performance numbers that you need. It’s just not at the top of the pile for you. No. And I I mean, we see it all the time. And I think actually if anything that that I I 240 is a bit of a breath of fresh air because it’s got lots of loft for someone who who needs a bit more launch, a bit more spin. We see that probably equally if not more often than people who need less. Yes. To be honest. So, um, no, I think having a a slightly bigger profile, um, in this loft category, we’ll fit a lot of these. We will. I think we will. Um, but for me personally, who creates hell of a lot of launch and hell of a lot of spin. I want the other I want the opposite end. So, I want the kind of the ones that come out almost a little bit stronger. So, yeah. No, it’s good test. And, um, I mean, three fantastic irons. I think the cool thing is is they’re actually doing different things for different players with different delivery. So, actually, from a fitting point of view, it’s quite nice to have all those options. Oh, 100%. I mean we said we’ve said it a few times now where we do these headto heads for irons or drivers in a similar category and they always kind of pan out very similar in performance right but actually here okay they are slightly different in loft but very different performance across the board so depending on what you need you know one of these irons will probably fit it yes if somebody came in and they wanted launch and spin we wouldn’t be reaching in the drawer for that we’d be reaching in the drawer for the i240 and that’s where coming somewhere like Ursa have got all the different brands which gives us all the different options depending on what you and you will get the best fit. So yeah, there we go. Yeah, really, really good test. Hope you enjoyed that. Stay tuned. Loads more to come. Thanks for watching and we’ll see you in the next one.

I have been waiting for this one! T150 and i240 have been the two I have been watching for the upcoming season.
Ping = 33*; Titleist = 32*; Callaway = 31*
Good video … but what about more amateur swing speed at 70mph maybe ?? Just look at distance iron ??
Why's the foresight line at the right edge of the green? 🤔🤨
Sweet comparison. Good swings mate. Epitome of what fits player. Pretty big loft variance Ping vs Callaway to be fair…I do like looks of ping tbh. Irons, prob be interesting in turf too.
Nice comparison. And I appreciated the conversation at the end. As somebody who’s about the same speed as this guy but delivers way too little dynamic loft, I love the Ping i2XX series — it gives me the launch and spin I need, and it’s also more forgiving than a lot of irons in its category. I think the launch/spin characteristics help explain why that series has been so popular on the LPGA Tour.
Nice review 👍🏻
I know looks are subjective and don’t really matter but I think the i230 is a much nicer looking iron than the i240.
I think the i240 has zero shelf appeal!
The mizuno pro line would still get my pick just looks so much better
I think you need to get a high handicap player to strike. Tom is too good now 😂
Ai150 showing mega fliers and distance inconsistency, and somehow it's a good thing… lol.
I’m a 19.6, playing I 525s, replaced the pw, 9, and 8 with 240s, numbers are great and so consistent in distance
I am currently in the market for irons. I have asked to try the Ai150, the T150 and the Mizuno Pro 243 at my upcoming fitting. This was good to see a couple of those go head to head here.
Great comparison Ross. I have the 2023 T150’s. Do you think I would see much of a performance difference between the 2023 T150’s and the 2025 T150’s?
Still love my t150’s but wouldn’t mind coming back to try out something new or maybe a different shaft!
