A key challenge here stems from the rugged fescue areas which can measure around 10 and 1/2 ft as determined by a stimp meter and might extend even further depending entirely on the prevailing wind conditions. Early weather forecasts suggest a noticeable west wind for the first round which could then bring about counterclockwise shifts that mimic an opposite directional feel by the tournament’s conclusion. With passing clouds and daytime highs reaching near 70°, these variable conditions mean that players must rely on a mix of experience, precise course management, thorough preparation, and lots of patience.
