Can’t thank the crew enough at Pirife. Yeah. Alli, Orin, Stefan, all the crew down there. Yeah, we do the hot crack. Tip of the crack. The tip of the crack. I haven’t really thought of anything. Oh, we had one before before we came on. Refresh my breath. There was a winner this week. You want to talk about where? Oh, no. Just say it for me. You want me to give it away? Yeah. Do it. It’s mine. But Kim Ah, there it is. Did you see her final stretch of holes to win? Yeah. That is that is hot crack worthy. I didn’t know. Was it Jack Newton? Jack golfer. Shout out to Jack. So, shout out to the Jack. There you go. So, why dreams can happen for you? You’re telling me. Hot crack. Hot crack. That was delicious. That’s going down smooth. Crack. Now, we should mention now I’m going to have a sit. We’re a little bit later in the night. Yeah. I’ve just come off recording a guest. We We recorded an episode earlier that’s going to come out later. Yeah. this week. Yes, guest. Very fun. Talk about it or not. Let’s not talk about it, but let’s we’ll talk about it without giving it away. Yeah, the guest was awesome. That was a lot of fun. I’m going to be honest with you. It’s taken all of my energy out of me. So, Oh, shut up. A bit of pirate life will perk me back up. Have a couple of drinks. Have a couple of pirate life and shut up. Chicken seal or something? Have a pasta. There’s still some upstairs. You want some? I’ll take some to go. the guest on the on the way home. You have it here. Can we Can we tease it or do we just No, that’s it. That’s all we talk about. Okay. I think people are going to love it. They are going to love it. It was It was a good chat. Yeah. Yeah. It was good fun. Now, let’s uh let’s move along, eh? Okay. What should we talk about? You tell me. We had a tournament this week. We had a tournament this week. We did. And apologies to people that listen to us when I said that the just in just in general. So many reasons. Yeah. Yeah. No, when I said that the timings were going to be [ __ ] Yeah, you threw me off on the first day, big dog. I corrected you, but no one listened to me. I do sometimes. Yeah, I doubt it. No, you are right about it. Actually, you are one of those people that sneaking like you’re a bit dark. You say something and I go like and I just go that’s that’s rubbish. And then it turns out to be right and I go [ __ ] That was like when we were driving back from Sydney, remember? No, guys. Listen to me. And then why like turn here? We just kept talking back there. And then you have the audacity to like, so when do we turn like back there, you dumb [ __ ] Listen, stop chatting, you [ __ ] Stop talking about lasagna recipes or some [ __ ] No, we were playing Cessnok Rock the whole time. That’s true. Listening to AC/DC. I’m a rock. Cesn left my heart in Cessn. Oh yeah. Beautiful. So we had a golf tourny. Yes. Andrew Lucia. It was a great great event. Weird, wasn’t it? Calling it off early on day one, the wind. Yeah. Yeah. I don’t think Sergio and Ram were too happy. No. How many holes they was it 14 holes in? There were five holes left to play. Yeah. Yeah. And they what resumed at 8:00 in the morning? Yeah. And that that threw everything out because I tuned in late on day two. Yeah. Same. Yeah. Same. And it said like 8 to play and I’m like, “What?” Well, actually I I went I got home because I was went out Saturday night. Party animal over here. Party animal. I came came back and I went, “Ah, sweet. Liv’s on. Set up here.” I literally turned it on and it they just finished. I was like, “Fuck.” Yeah. Right. So that’s my bad. So I had to catch up on that. Yeah. Well, it’s not my bad. I didn’t schedule it. It’s your bad. It’s still your bad. But yeah, that that um that threw things out. I’m gonna I’m gonna say it hands down apart from Adelaide my favorite event. Yeah. Yeah. Really? My favorite my favorite golf course. Actually, it is my favorite golf course. The next live event might be Yeah. My favorite. But yeah, but in terms of golf course, my favorite golf course. Mhm. The first and the second hole just with the trees in the way and that. It’s a punishing course, isn’t But just watching him how to like I mean I’d be hitting everything low cuz I can’t get the ball up in the air. But just like how close they are to the trees and they’re just like they’re navigating their way through it and you’re thinking going like because they do a shot from behind and what their view is. It’s like they haven’t got a shot here and then all of a sudden they just rip a beauty and it just sticks like right next to the pin. You think that’s another one where the course is the what what you’ve got to beat because that not exceptionally high scores. It was a Yeah, it’s a harder course. So yeah, it’s a true true test. So I like it. It is just so pretty of a cleanser. Like I I called a cash over and I said, “Oh, come and have a look at this.” And she ignored me the first couple of times and then I said, “No, come over and have a look.” It’s really nice. And you just look down the fairway and just all the houses coming down the the hill side and it’s just it’s stunning. The the fairways are amazing. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. It’s that is Yeah, it’s such a nice course. Hands down. Bang. Did you like having a bit of Spanish flavor in the commentary scheme as well with Gonzo joining the broadcast? That was very nice. That was good. I still Perez, mate. He’s the man. You know what? I don’t talk about him enough anymore and I really should again. Yeah, if you get back on that track. Yeah, I really should cuz he’s doing a good job. Yeah, he’s Give that man a raise. Yeah, I think, you know, I’ve kind of let him go a little bit now that he’s doing the broadcasting thing, but it’s time to bring back the love. Get back on the horse. Try and think of another way for you to get that tattoo. I’ll still do it. I’m still willing. I said this actually to Lara on the weekend. I said, I just need to get a lift golf tattoo. You’re such a [ __ ] Yeah, you are a [ __ ] I’m still I am still up for the Pat Perez tattoo if he somehow makes my hole in one. I know Brit his partner listens to this podcast. So Oh, really? Yeah. The uh shout out the what’s it called? Just say who just came out of retirement for one more live Adelaide round. Yeah. Get the watering hole. Just play a practice hole. Just Yeah. Just get a bucket of bowls. Just get close. Just give me a birdie putt. So who was leading after the first day after day one? Was it Cam Smith? I was going to say Cam was up there, wasn’t it? I think it was Cam Smith. Well, after the It’s hard to tell because the first day the fight finished it, I think it was a bunch of people on uh one under. Gu Cam Smith. Well, Cam was two under after round one. Okay. I think Neon was up there. Still pretty low like Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Pat Reed was one under as well. Yeah, Pat Reed was up there. He was around there for the whole It was looking very tasty for BC early. Yeah. Well, the the last the last day was sensational because it it could have gone a bunch of different ways, but yeah, shout out to Taylor Gu for holding strong and and taking the victory. Taylor Gu gets it done in and for a second time. Yep. Back in his uh 2023 form in the when that was his run of the international men of history. Most trophies in live golf. Yeah, saw that. Um, I want to talk about a couple of singers, contrasting fortunes on the weekend. Yeah, Brandon Grace. Awesome to see. So good. So good. So, and you know what it was like that when he went on that run, he was just sinking putts from everywhere. He looked good. he’s got the the wrist taped and they were saying that they were like if he could win this event, he’d probably go in for surgery and get it done now cuz it potentially and that’s what um Pat Perez was saying a few weeks ago when he said that he could be out for the rest of the year because if he had to get that surgery done, yeah, that recovery time could be huge. So, good for him to lock up some points. On the other end, Dean Burmeister, yeah, he’s he’s had a bit of a rough trot lately, I feel like. Plus seven, plus two, plus two. Yeah, just out of form. Just out of form. Not good heading into He’s one of the guys playing in the open. So, yeah, Leechman struggled as well. Plus three, plus eight. Anthony Kim minus one. Yeah, Anthony Kim again. Plus five, plus two, plus six. Herby was pretty fair. Plus seven on from Green Machine. But K more importantly, uh Ortiz Ortiz, he had a real rough eight over eight over on the first day. Unforgiving course. Second round though, obviously that’s when we start to see Taylor Gu sort of start to, you know, make his run. But DJ D seven, seven under and he was what, four under for the four over for the first day or something. Yeah. Something like that. Like he is a talk about a seessaw. Yeah, that was a real seesaw cuz then he came out in round three and then he shot he started four over. Yeah. And then he went on a stretch of like four or five birdies in a row. Like one under. Yeah. He’s just That’s quite confusing. Yeah. So looking at that then obviously DJ where’s he at? Where it’s so hard yeah to pick where he’s at. He’s he’s streaky. He’s got like these stretch of stretches of holes where he’s finds form but yeah it’s not like he finds form over a couple of days. He finds form well this season anyway. Yeah. I feel like if DJ can put three days together, no one will get near him. Yeah, but it’s just the problem is he has those holes and he and he gets into these traps where he has a couple of holes that are bad in a row. It’s like as good as Ram’s playing, as good as Nean are playing, they’re playing consistent most weekends. They’ll put three days together generally. Yeah. I think if DJ puts three days together, he’s got the best golf out there. And Perez has said the same thing. He’s he’s getting back to his best form. Yeah. It’s just putting it all together. Obviously a uh a solid third round for John Ram. Y we get second. Thought he was going to get it done. Yeah. He was messaging at the time and it was like who’s you call it down. Who’s your pick? Well that was before when Gu was stuck behind the tree on the 15th. So he just bogeied the 14th. Yeah. Uh and he ended up behind the tree with his T-shot on 15 when he managed he hit a great shot there to get it in the bunker. And I said to you, he’s no he won’t lose now. Like cuz I thought at that time, oh, he’s screwed behind the tree. Yeah. When he got into the bunker and I said to you, no, he’s getting up and down for car and he’ll hold strong for the rest of it. But one, I mean, a couple of things. I mean, obviously John Ram was a man possessed there. Just looking real good and the putter looked awesome. Yeah. Yeah. And the thing was he missed a couple. Yeah. There was there was one or two that sat on the lip on the edge of the cup, you know, just could have dropped one or two more rolls and would have been in. There was a couple that burnt the edge, but that looks good heading into the open. I feel everyone was putting well on the weekend. Um Gu definitely was Gu was Yeah, he when he’s playing well, he looks pretty unstoppable. You know, which hole did he bird? 14. Did he bird? Was it 16 or 17? It was the par three. I think it was 16. 16. Yeah, 16. That was a great putt. Yeah. And that was moving. But he when I think you said this to me, when he when he putts, it’s like he’s putting super like confidently, deliberately. You can tell when he’s on. Yeah, he he’s he seems very calculated and deliberate with everything he does like and doesn’t really steer from the course no matter what happens. He’s been building to this, hasn’t he? And it’s like, yeah, we spoke about it a while ago when he was on that real hot run and when you know Taylor Gucci is in form is when you know you hear footsteps like Ram was coming hard and he still managed to hold it off and just focus on his own game and that’s when you know Gucc is back in form. Yeah. I don’t I don’t know if if Gu’s I mean he’s been better but I don’t think he’s back to even though he’s won this event. He’s not back to 2023. Gu. No, but yeah, I don’t know. He He’s looking a lot better than he did in 2024. 100%. But he played he played extremely well on the weekend. He’s the man for Smash G. So really Pat Reed looked the the goods again unfortunately just you know like his worst holes were his last couple. I like the way he’s looking going into another major though. Going into the He’s played well in the m Yeah, he’s done really well this year. He was putting well and then it was the last few holes he he doubled that hole that was a bad mistake. He played some good shots to get out of trouble, too. But yeah, I think the story for me um I mean obviously it’s you know Taylor Gu getting the win. But yeah, for me probably was Brandon Gross. Yeah. Yeah. Um and it just shows that that’s if they can have a good weekend, it puts them in a better spot. That goes for a lot of the guys in the relegation kind of zone. If they just somehow, I mean, it’s easier said than done, but get a really good weekend going, get in the top 10, those points are going to be lifechanging for the next season. Look at it now. He’s got he was in the like cut zone. Yeah. He’s now got himself up to 37th with 19.10 points. It’s probably enough. He’s probably done enough. Yeah. Yeah. So, obviously, there’s a couple of stories there from the weekend. Congrats again to Taylor Gu on getting the win from Smash GC. Legion 13 on that. Yeah, the team Legion 13 get it done again. Got a tip right. Nice. Did you? Yeah, I’m climbing now. I’m climbing now. I’m having a shocker with the tips. Uh Legion 13 getting it done. But it was a real tussle between Fireballs, four races, and Smash GC. Yeah. Um for the whole sort of final day. Fire five fireballs had a big run on the last day between DJ and Pat Reed over the last few holes. Four races really fell away. But yeah, Legion 13 getting it done again. Tom McKibben, great great couple of days, well three days I should say. Um and Caleb Serat just seems to whenever it’s in the balance the team thing, he seems to like just become this, you know, he’s the new superstar. He’s the new Mr. Sunday of of the the last few holes when when it’s like they need birdies or something just to clench it. He gets it done and that’s the reason why they’ve won so many. I love that we’re talking about golf now as a real team sport. Like there’s that team guy now. Yeah. Yeah. Caleb Serat’s that guy and you can tell uh I think that’s what I like about the Sunday because if if we’re being honest that the team thing like I love it, right? It needs a bit of work. There’s something about it that probably still needs a bit of work to fully buy in and invest in it all weekend. But it is a nice little uh almost like a subplot I guess like to to the main story that in the last like from holes like 15 well you know the last three holes we’ll say it’s not necessarily 15 the last three or four holes that’s the story. Yeah. Like obviously whoever’s out in front there could be you know a couple of guys in it or whatever it could be multiple but then that’s where the team thing really comes those last sort of four or five hole three four holes. Yeah cuz it’s like okay there’s so much movement so quickly as we saw with the four races but that’s when you really start to to care about it which I like and it means there’s something is another story on the Sunday. Yeah that I like. Hey, Tom McKibben this year, just quietly, four top 10 finishes. Yeah. A T4 in Ander Lucia, a T5 the tournament before in Dallas heading into the Open, which he is playing in Northern Ireland. Yeah, he’s got it’s probably one to watch. Yeah, I was going to say couple bucks on that. I was going to say he’s probably one that I would legitimately put like a top 15 top 20 finish. Yeah, comfortably. considering his play on the DP World Tour last year as well. He’s just got such a good swing and and his form really like again he had a such a great round and that’s probably just being 22 years of age or whatever he is but you know the last he goes a bogey free round then it’s his last hole or second to last hole. I think he bogied his last two maybe that’s a pretty good effort. Yeah, to stand up there against you know Taylor Gu and your captain John Ramen to really give it a crack like that. But he had a he was I mean he hits the ball a ton as well. He hits it far. He’s got such a nice swing. He’s like his putting was on. So yeah, he’s he’s one to watch. That was definitely one I was going to bring in here tonight. So Andia had done again for another year. Yep. I think this we were talking about it. I think this will be a course that they continue to come back. crowds looked good as well. Yeah, they they were buying into the John Ram thing, obviously. Sergio, fireballs. It was all really good. But there’s something really good about Spanish golf, isn’t there? Oh, yeah. There’s something there’s just something about it. Yeah. And it goes back to, you know, there’s the legend of sport, aren’t they? They really are. They’re really good at a lot of things. Spaniards. Yeah. I love it. Music, food. Hey, they know what they’re doing in You love a good player. Uh, I’ll run the top 10 from Ander Lucas, Taylor Gu obviously. John Ram second, Abea Answer. Yeah, had a good push the the last day. Who I left on the bench, but anyway. Oopsy daisies. Matt Jones, how was that run? There we go. Love that. Another guy needed some points. So, yeah. Beautiful. Matt Jones, is he What do you reckon next year? Don’t know. You reckon he’ll I think he’ll earn his spot, but yeah. Uh Tom McKibben again, Brandon Grace as we mentioned before. Cameron Tringali probably needed those points too. Cam Smith, Dustin Johnson, and top 10 round that out. Sebastian Munoz, Jason Kraak, Sergio Garcia, Janichiro Kazuma, and Patrick Reed. Kazuma is another one. Yeah, Kazuma was having it just wasn’t his final day, but he was in the mix as well early on and he what he missed five events at the start of this year. Yeah, he’s been solid. Yeah. Um so that’s And dad. Very nice. Teams. You want to run the teams list? Legion, fireballs, smash, four aces, highf flyers, ripper, crushers, fell back a little bit. Clicks, torqu was a bit of a surprise. Majestics, stinger, iron heads, and range goats down the bottom. Ranges massive ain’t going to be on there all the time then. No, it’s probably not. Um, so next event is obviously JCB. Well, the next event’s the open. Well, next live event is JCB. Are they doing they’re doing Jewels? I believe so. Yes. Yeah. So, and I think Dallas Jewels will be coming out either this week or next. I believe there’s is the making of Dallas out now? I think so. Yeah. So, that’ll be good. Nice. Four teams. Tune in. Watch all that. We’ll do on the tube YouTube. Thank you. We’ll we’ll do a full rundown of that when that comes out. Sure. Absolutely. Um, now let’s go on to Do you want to go to fantasy? Well, let’s go to that. All right, let’s round out Andalucia. Yeah, while we’re here. All right, let’s rip this bandit out. The Watering Hole Fantasy League. I know. I’ve got no points on this one. You got some points. Sergio got me some points. That’s about it. The winner of Andy Lasia live golf 2025 fantasy is green machine baby John Ram John Ram and Dashambo was up there wasn’t he? I’ll take you through the points please. So I’m going to do a little bit differently. So Green Machine got the win. with 60 points. Thank you to John Ram. It was all John Ram, Bryson Dashambo, Brooks Kepka, and Carlos Ortiz. They’re off to Donut King to get some cinnamon donuts. John Ram got it done cuz they got nothing. For some reason, I thought Dashambo was up there. He shat the bed. That’s right. My bad. Yeah. So, all donut king. The kept trade doesn’t look so bad now, does it? Doesn’t look bad. No, I I’m just trying to keep it fresh. Keep it fresh. And I had a answer. I had him there. Yeah. Yeah. That’s that hurts. I had moon but I brought but I brought DJ in. Yeah, it’s much anyway. So, uh yes, John Ram with the multiplier 60 points gets it done in second place. Bounce GC with 49 points. Okay, so not too bad. The 11 shy. Hey, I tell you what, listen to this. Cam Smith the multiplier 26 points. Not bad. Dustin Johnson 13 points. Pat Reed 10 points. Your only donut king joining the others is Dean. So had you had answer a answer. Yeah. Wooka. Yeah. Yeah. Couple of good backto-back showings for bounce. Maybe a team to watch. I would hate to say it, but he’s actually not looking too bad over there in the corner. And in last place for Andia, sorry, Whitey. Yes, sir. the junkyard pickets. Waco Nean with the multiplier, two points. Interesting fact about Neman that I heard over the weekend, all his points he got this season besides I guess this this tournament are from wins. So he’s only Oh, so he wins or gets no points. Yeah. And off week he didn’t get it done. So he’s broken that trend. It’s over. Well, that’s that’s the thing. When the when the talk the talk of how consistent he is and stuff, it’s like, well, when he when he plays well, he he beats everyone, but he’s not cracking the 20 top 24 often. Neman’s under the microscope. Tier Tier Hatton, one point. Yeah. Sergio Garcia back to a bit of form. Y bit better. Uh, 10 points. And Louisen is joining the rest at Donut King. some cinnamon donuts with a zero. Louis, uh, Hatton and Nean all were like two or three over on the last day, but they’re all just like starting to get birdies here and there. I’m like, here we go. My boys are going to get in there. And then that’s the thing with Neman, too. Like he can come from nowhere. Well, he did look like it at one stage. Oh, yeah. So, 13 points total for the Junkyard Pigs. That’s not many points. So, if I take you through the overall standings, in third place is still BounceG. However, fighting back 366 points. Mhm. That’s a little better. That’s uh that’s 103 points over the last two weeks. That’s not bad. It’s not bad. That’s not bad at all. Um, in second place, Junkyard Pigs, the Piglets, 497 points. Still a long way back. It’s almost 500. And in first place, Green Machine GC with 551 points. I’ll put a bit of a gap in it this one. That’s okay. Actually need another Neon win. Is this a 3P? Could be probably. And he’s got a And he’s got a round one pick for next year as well. Is it a dynasty? Well, yeah, it is. It’s a three P. Yes. Yes. Yeah. You’re very unlikable when you win. So, the first move will go to the pigs. [ __ ] yeah. Second move to bounce and then to green machine GC. All right. Early. We’re a week out. Yeah. Yeah. Let’s just But anything early. What? Try any just anything. any you want kept back for Birming. That’s interesting. Maybe. Yeah, we’ll think about that. Yeah, sit on that one. But I would take both. Just saying. If I had kek, I would ch trade him for Burmy for sure. If you had B Yeah. Well, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, interesting something to think about today. Yeah. You got anything? No. All right. Doesn’t deal, man. We’ll shove that for Yeah, cuz we got shove it. So, we got the open to talk about Royal Port Rush, Northern Ireland. Let’s go. The last major of the season. Who would have thought? How quickly did that come around? It’s traditionally I look, I’m going to get heat for this because it’s it’s like it’s the oldest major. It’s the most traditional one. Yeah. The last few years it’s just kind of lacked something for me a little bit. Okay. I just haven’t really and I think to be honest I think it goes back to Brian Harmon. That was so boring. I cannot wait for the open. Yeah. Yeah. I do look I love the tradition. I love the history around it and all that. I hope this year delivers something but it’s just kind of it’s lacked something for me. I think I think the last couple of years just the the story lines and the Yeah. the the drama of the like where you look at the majors this year so far there’s been a lot of Yeah. Rory there’s been you know some some great stories coming out of it. So maybe just need something bit of shakeup the open. Hope it is like good weather though like hope it’s not pissing down with rain like you know for like the US Open. I think it’s been good weather and I think it’s kind of dried the course out from all reports. Wind’s going to be a factor. Oh, but that’s that’s what you want for an open that’s what you want for the for the open, but yeah, hopefully the rain holds off and it’s just like a clear sort of windy I do like watching Lynx golf. Lynch golf. It’ll be Yeah, I the course looks amazing. Yeah. Yeah. Royal Port Rush. So it’s, you know, we’re in for a treat there. But yeah, hopefully the weather holds up because I think just with the the whole, you know, Oakmont US Open when it was raining, it kind of took the shine off it a bit, I think, for people. So hopefully it doesn’t get uh too chaotic weatherwise. Royal Port Rush is going to be what everyone talks about as a second shot course. So your approach is going to be really important. Like links courses traditionally have the big greens. Royal Port Rush has got smaller greens. Your aerial approach has to be a lot more precise. Yeah. Finding the fairways got to be precise too because I think there’s five I think it’s five holes with out of bounds in play. Mhm. Um so you have to find the fairway off the tea. You know when it was there in 2019 when Shane Lowry won, Tommy Fleetwood was at the top. So, good ball strikers need to be on here. Tommy Fleetwood is going to be everyone’s kind of emotional, sentimental pick, isn’t he? Yeah. Hoping that he wins. Just what happened to him in the last tournament, you know, was brutal. Um, so yes, it it’s going to be interesting to see if Tommy can be up there. Yeah, it’s a long course, too. It’s about what is it? 7,381 yards. So, it’s it’s a big boy. Pass 71, though. How many uh Liv players do we have playing in the open? 19. Yeah. Nice. And I was going to run through the list. That’s almost half the field at Liv. So, Oh, I suppose you’re going to have to run the list first. Do you want to go We’ll go through the list. Go list first as as they’ve named them on the live golf site here. So, Burmy, we are in alphabetical order. Yep. Dean Burmister three starts at a open best finish is T1 2022 in St. Andrews. Makes the cut, misses the cut. I think he misses the cut. He’s pretty ordinary form at the moment. Yeah, out of form. Oh, no. Change. I’m going to say makes the cut. Okay, we’ll just quickly run through these numbers. Uh Bryson Dambo makes the cut. Seven starts at an open. Best finish T8 T22 in St. Andrew. Misses the cut. Misses the cut. The cut. Misses the cut. I think he makes a cut. I think he finishes I think he finishes top 10. Just makes or misses, mate. Just makes and misses. Okay. Sorry. Sergio Garcia misses. Yeah, misses. Misses the cut. 25 starts in the open. Yeah. Best finish second twice. Cari and Royal Liverpool. Terrell Hatton 12 starts. Makes the car. I think he makes the car. I think I think he goes pretty well. Yeah. I I don’t I reckon he’ll be top 20. Makes Sorry, we’re just keeping it keeping it keeping it quick. Lucas Herbert misses the cut. Yeah. He’s in not the best form. Not the best form. Yeah. Which is surprising cuz we’re talking about how good he was at the start of the year. He can turn it around. Come on, Herby. Uh Dustin Johnson missed the cut. Yeah, misses the cut. Last time in 2019 at Royal Port Rush, T-51. So look, if he gets off to a hot start, I think he can make it. But I think he misses. He can’t do it for three. Can you do it for four days? How about this one? Brooks Keeper misses the cut. Yeah. Shot 68, 69, 67, and 74 in 2019 Royal Port Rush. Yeah, I feel to finish T4. I feel like it’s going to be some low 70s rounds for which is actually his best finish at the open as well. T4. Some Yeah, some mid to low 70s. I think he makes it for Brooks. No, Brooks comes alive for majors. So they say, but yeah, recently you’re off him, has he? No, I’m not off him. I just I think that he’s he’s something’s players when they’re when they’re going through like because it’s just it’s so like golf. Do you remember I mean they’re they’re a different level. I’m not comparing us to these golf like by any means, but with golf in general, you’ve got these moments and it’s like you’re going through a patch and you’re hot and then other times you’re not. And I feel like Brooks is just going through something at the moment. I feel like it’s going to be longer than what it is before it comes back. Do you think it’s at the point where like before he joined Liv when he was in that slump and he was you reckon it’s at that point? Maybe. Yeah. Well, and and part of me thinks with this with this whole live chat, like will he leave or will he not because of his, you know, his demeanor, his attitude and stuff like that, it might just be his form slump that people are perceiving, you know, perceiving it as, oh, he’s definitely going, you know, maybe he’s that kind of guy that he needs that change up again to spark some interest. I don’t know. Maybe maybe it is best for him as a golfer if he has that change. And I hope he doesn’t leave, but it’s looking that way. Jason Krak misses misses. Yeah, misses the cut for me, too. Oh, he’s had four starts at the open for three cuts made. So, what do we know? Smokey. Mark Leechman had a really ordinary Ander Lucia. I’m just going to say makes the cut. Misses the cut. Missed the cut last time at Royal Port Rush. So, I think he misses too. Uh Tom McKibben we spoke about earlier makes the cut. Makes the cut. He’s had one start, one open. So this will be his second appearance. Royal Trun last year, T66. Um so he made the cut. I I think he makes the cut. Yeah, he does. In his home country. Yeah, he looks pretty good lately. I think he makes the cut. I think he does well. Phil Mickelson misses the cut. Oh yeah, misses. Yeah, misses. Yeah, I think I think he misses the cut. Unfortunately, this would be Waco Nean. The conversation comes up every major. He’ll make the cut. Yeah, he missed it in 2019. I’m going to say makes the cut. Yeah, he’ll make the cut. His best finish at the open is T23. Yeah. And to be honest, I think that’s where he’ll be around about Yeah. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. It’s that it’s that same conversation every major, isn’t it? When’s he going to get it done? Mhm. Uh Louis Usen makes the cut. No, I think he misses misses the cut. Carlos Ortiz makes the cut. Misses the cut. Yeah, he was I think he’ll make it. I think he’ll sneak in. John Ram makes the cut. Makes the cut. One of the best live performances. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think that’s pretty straightforward. Patrick Reed makes the cut. Makes the cut. One of the best live performances. I feel like those two, they’re going to be playing well. Makes the cut. I think for me, uh, he finished 10th at Port Rush in 2019, which is also his best finish at the Open as well. So, yeah, look out for Pat Reed. Cameron Smith makes the cut. Yeah, makes the cut. and uh around the top 20 mark. There’s something about Cam Smith in the open. Yeah. Yeah. I actually like him this weekend. I think Henrik Stenson misses the cut. Makes the cut. I think Henrik makes it. Yeah. Yeah. Just kind of thing. And you know Lee Westwood. Lee Westwood started well at Ander Lucia. Um misses the cut. Yeah. Misses. This will be his 28th start at the Open. Yeah. Nice. His best finish was second in St. Andrews in 2010. His best his finish at 2019 Royal Port Rush was T4 68 67 70 and 73. I reckon Westy will make it. Did you see the thing that they played of him on the broadcast that live when he like went back to he named the open winners in reverse order? He got back to like 1978. Oh, wow. Really? Yeah. Ridiculous. Knowledgeable. All right, so that’s the Liv players. Y what do you think tipwise? Let’s go again with our normal overall winner and best place live finisher. Uh which first? I’ll go first. Yeah. Yeah. So non non-live it’s overall winner. Overall winner I think Justin Rose. Yeah. But I also think and best like performing live player, but I also think he’s actually gonna win, but I’m just, you know, covering the beds. Uh, John Ram. Overall winner, I’m thinking Colin Cower and best live for me was between Pat Reed and John Ram. I’m gonna go Pat Reed just to be different from Steve. I’m I’m going I’m on I’m on the Tommy train. Yeah. I’m going for Tommy Fleetwood to win. Nice. And I’m going Cam Smith is best place live finisher. There we go. All different for once. That’s like it. Yeah. Yeah. Bit of hair. Bit of hair in those tips. So before we move on, obviously from that we got to talk one of the most important parts and that’s gear bags. Okay. Have you seen the uh open bags? I have not. I feel like both of you every single time you both seen them and you have a opinion on them. Hey, so that’s the Callaway one. Yeah, I’m a fan of that. I actually haven’t seen the Callaway one. Looks very tropical. A lot of graphics. A lot of Not sure how I feel about it. I love it. A lot of the little That’s sick. Yeah, I’m a big fan of turquoise. So that’s the Callaway one. I love a turquoise. I’ll bring up the tailor made one that’s just dropped. I’ll tell you what. I’m not I mean usually don’t choose the Callaway, but that’s that’s you know I don’t re going to choose the Tailor Made this time. No, I haven’t seen Tailor Made either. I don’t mind that really. I don’t mind it. It’s very uh it’s very different style, but that’s um I really like that. Really? Yeah. You don’t you’re not a fan? No. And the Oh, I like that. And the stricken one which is generally my favorite cuz I like a bit more. Yeah. Subtle. Yeah. You like the subtles. That’s got some real Bob Marley coloring. That table wine red. He doesn’t like it. N that’s my least that’s my least favorite. That just looks like I like that. That’s That looks like just another bag for me. That’s very classy. Hey, it’s very classy. But it’s clar whitey. So the 321 co. Sorry. We Yeah, we got a new contender. Cobra is actually Here we go. The Cobra is Yeah, Cobra. I actually think this could Cobra’s lifted their game recently. Yeah, they’re not. Should we put this up on Insta and see what the people like? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, let’s do that. Yeah. Chuck all the chuck all the images up and then see what the people vote for. If I can find it. Yeah. Yeah, please. Oh, I’m so far. Actually, I think the Srixen one’s the best. That was my least favorite. I like so far. I like them all. I didn’t like the open bags over the years I’ve liked the most. I’m off Callaway though, to be honest. Yeah, you’re a bit of a brand [ __ ] aren’t you? No, I just don’t like the way that they carry themselves themselves in a certain manner. Yeah, fair enough. Yeah, we’re loyal. We cut tires. If you Yeah, we hold grudges. Oh, no. You can’t find it. Under the pumpy. Oh no. [ __ ] Jeez. Oh no. We don’t really give you much to do on this podcast, Ste. Yeah. Just show us the bags and then go home. Just keep talking like Just get the bags, Steve. That’s all you’ve got to do in this pod. Just keep talking. Bring the bags. Well, you know what I’m going to do in the meantime? Please. There was some news. Okay. Can I just cover off this news quickly? While you’re looking for that, uh, live golfer back in the hunt for world ranking points. Yes. Um, I’ll read you the statement from Scott O’Neal. Yeah. We thank OWGR chairman Trevor Imlman for his continued leadership and willingness to move the sport of golf forward for the benefit of all players and most importantly the fans. Live golf is committed to working together with the official world golf ranking and its board to ensure the very best players are competing in the game’s most prestigious events. We are confident our application addresses the outstanding questions that exist to a to support a more global all-encompassing and accurate ranking system. We are hopeful the review and approval process can progress ahead of the 2025 2026 major season. Hell yeah. I feel like we’ve got a better shot this time around. Yeah, same. And I think I love Greg Norman. Greg’s the king. Yeah. I feel like people are responding more to Scott O’Neal. Yeah. I think that just probably Yes. But I think everything comes with time and and time and the willingness to adjust. And I think that Scott O’Neal isn’t afraid to do that. I don’t think Greg Norman was too afraid to do that. Greg was the right CEO and right leader for the time to to move live golf ahead to get it off the ground. I think Greg also pissed off a lot of people. That’s what I’m getting at. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Greg, I love Greg. Greg’s got a certain way of doing things. Yeah. And that’s not for everyone. Like I said, he was It wouldn’t have happened. It wouldn’t have got off without Greg. But in saying that, like and this is probably a shout out to Rick Shield with a podcast with Scott O’Neal. So definitely go listen to that one. Great great podcast. That one was that was a corker. Um but he like he said a lot of the heads in golf have changed recently. Yeah. A lot of people are you know the seats have been filled with different people. So if there’s change then suddenly things are gonna you know but Liv will need to be open to that and they will have to follow through with relegation. Yeah, I think that’s the big thing. That is the scary thing for some of these players and this is where I was I was saying it comes into I don’t mind the idea of like a like a div one and a div two two. Um, so you have a div two that can be full of top up players, like reserve players for every team. So the top five performing in the div two can be called up to play on a team. Now think about this. Just look, I’m just going to spitball really quickly here. If you had say like a, you know, div one or like in div two and you had two lots of or like Phil even alluded to, he had a tweet saying, I was going to bring this up too. Yeah, you had uh like an afternoon tea time, a morning tea time, and you had bigger fields and all that sort of stuff. But if you had say a div one and a div two where you could have a lot of younger players in the div 2, but then say for example, let’s just use last year as an example, Bubba Watson drops down, right? He’s still the owner and invested owner like with Liv and that in the Range Goats, all right, but he plays for a Range Goat affiliate team, or you know, Range Goats 2 or whatever. So he’s still involved in the team, right? Range Labs. But then if Matt Wolf is injured, he can he can come up into that team. Yeah. Or GLeague or the top five players. If there was an injury, any other team can pick out of those top five performing players in the div 2 come up. It’s what we’ve said all along, isn’t it? squads, extended squads, cuz it would suck like for for those guys and it would suck for the cra like the, you know, the spectators if you did lose Bubba Watson. Well, that’s Yeah. Or if you lost a Brandon Grace or if you lost a DJ, you know, one stage, a lot of beloved golfers would be Yeah. probably it gives them gives them more of a product. They can get, you know, world golf rankings and Yeah. So, I think that’s a I’ll read you Phil’s tweet. Yeah. Um, here’s a random Monday morning hypothetical question. What if Liv went to a 35 event full 120 person field dual shotgun star morning and afternoon and the current live events were elevated events within the schedule? Where would those additional players come from? And what would happen to the PGA tour then? I think and I actually made a comment on this and said I feel like they’re leaning towards this with the international series. There seems to be a bit more visibility on the international series from Liby. You even noticed on the broadcast on the weekend they actually made a point of showing recent events in the international series. That’s where you tap into those guys. The Australian tour tap in there. Yeah. I I just feel if they if they had a I don’t know if it was more players. So it’s a bigger event. It’s not just like your main course is still like obviously that but you could have guys teeing off it. 7 o’clock in the morning at 7:30, 8:00 in the morning. Yeah. Like, you know, same deal. They just they finish up in two or three done by 10, 11:00 or whatever. Like, sweet, you know. So, I reckon that’s the and one thing we know is that they’re willing to try things. So, these ideas that get thrown out, Yeah. they’ll all be listened to. So, it’s good news. I think it’s good news. It’s not out of the realm of possibility. Back to what we were talking about. Oh, that’s the cobra bag. It’s a very Irish. Yeah. Yep. theme. What do you think? So, if you had to rate them, 4 321. Callaway number one. Really? Yes. Okay. Tailor made. Really? Cobra. Really? How’s that? Yeah. I’m going to go I love a turquoise. What can I say? I’m going to go crixen one. Yep. I like the clar. Yep. Um I like a green and brown. I’m going to go Cobra 2. Mhm. Tailor made three. Callaway 4. We’re almost the same. Srien one for me. Cobra 2, Callaway 3, Tailor Made 4. We have almost the opposite. Yeah, that Tailor Made bag is gunk. You didn’t like it? I thought one’s junk. No, I don’t like that. No, the Calo one I like cuz it’s a bit kind of kitschy. You know, just get a few little Yeah, a little I like those. What’s with the head wobble? They just, you know, you know what I’m saying? It’s good. No. So, I don’t like it. Looking forward to the open. Yeah. All right, let’s uh We got much more to talk about. Not really, but everyone double pod week. Yeah. Yes. But we’ve got our golf. Uh do we? Is there much to talk about? You went and had yourself a little a little fitting. Yeah. What kind of fitting? I don’t want to give too much away. No, just say I can’t give too much away. Just what club is it? It’s my best club. Club sandwich. Mr. 31. Okay. It was good fun. Had a part had a part of fitting. But I can’t give anything away. Just leave it at that then. Yeah. Golf we played on the weekend. Yeah. didn’t play great, but the driver good. Your driver I saw your driver today when I went and had my fitting. It’s it’s it’s fun. It’s very pretty. Not your exact one. Oh, okay. Yeah. What you stealing from me? What’s up in the museum? Um what? Joking with the car. Yeah. What? He’s been I’ve been I’ve been hitting him longish and straightish. Yeah. I don’t like the fact that you’re getting close to me with the drives now. like cuz well you’re you’re iron off the tea a lot of the time so we don’t really get to go headtohead on the driver. That was funny though when you pipe one on the the 11th hole so whiteies hit his drive and it smoked it like sounded so good and had this like really nice fade to it like little down the left hand side and then I hit a six iron and we got up there like he was he was further than me but I said oh yeah I out drove you with a six iron. What a piece of [ __ ] Yeah the arrogance but um that insane. Yeah, but like with the drop like Yeah, I feel But you’re like sneaky though when you you hit them and you make that like really good contact. They are they do get down there. Like that one on 17 was huge. Yeah, that was that was a good one. That was a good one. I reckon that’s bigger than any drive I’ve hit on 17. That that was my long because it it got to the straight. I didn’t have to worry about like trying to fade it around. It was just So the new gear I’m all I think it might be Well, everything else in my bag sucks. So, it’s time. It’s probably time. I reckon it’s iron time for you. Yeah, you know, to Cobros. To Cobros. Um, yeah, the the round over the weekend, there was some highlights. There was a lot of average golf, but I just enjoyed being out there and whatnot and it was a good round. And then this weekend, it’s my birthday, so I got the all clear to double up. Whose birthday? My birthday and your birthday prior, too. Same. Yeah. Same weekend. Yeah. So, you’re not going to join us? Yeah. It was going to be a nice event. You know, us talk about all of us playing golf on the next podcast. At this at this stage, it’s a little bit too far. It’s not too far. He’s got a newborn. It’s such a good course. You would love it. I know, but I’ve got a new little Bring her. She bring her. Austin’s coming. Brooks is coming. You going to sit in the car? It’s a bit harder with a baby capsule. Think about it cuz I think you really Oh, look at the thing. We got we got three carts. So Bondi is going to be sitting by himself. Yeah. So you can sit with Bondage. Don’t put that guilt on me. Yeah. Don’t you put that on me, Ricky Bobby. Yeah. So where are we playing? Uh South Lakes. Cool. Southakes. Yeah. I’m looking forward to it. I haven’t played there. So guess what, [ __ ] What? I’m playing the Wednesday comp tomorrow. Yeah, you’re playing a lot of golf at the moment. It’s annoying. Well, it’s about time he leaves the house. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I’ve been a real slob. Wow.
