Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Well, we’re going to talk about mini driver versus a regular driver. However, since I made that thumbnail and talked about the topic, I got a lot of stuff from Callaway. We’re going to talk about the new releases from Callaway as well. Also, Mini Driver and Callaway new releases. And look at that stuff show up. All next on What’s in My Drawers Golf Talk. [Music] Welcome back to What’s in My Drawers Golf Talk. Why is it called What’s My Drawers? Because it’s about what’s in my shop and what’s in the drawers of my shop. And because old club makers and club fitters are tremendous packrats and I’m no different. So, this channel is about golf club repairs, golf club reviews, and golf club fittings. All so your scores can go low. If you would follow this banner across the bottom, like, subscribe, smash that notification bell so we can get more of this word out, okay? And I would have put the video out. I did put a video out, but I wanted to put another one out. And but this weekend was absolutely jam-packed in golf club building. Uh, we put out literally put out four sets, but I got three here to show you. And the first one I did not build, but we ordered it long and uncut so we could adjust it for the customer. And it is this. This is kind of unique. I kind of like this one. These, if you can tell, these are the Apex uh 200s. Let’s see if I can get you a better one. Here we go. Apex 200s. And I wish I could get them bigger for you. Uh what these are, these got a they have a copper like almost like a an antique copper color over top of the uh over top of the what is already the coating on the on the golf club. And they come with a a different shaft band on them. Oh, that’s not it. Where’d they go? Right there. They come looking like this. And it’s a neat little shaft band on the back. But the other part that they give you, if you look at the top, they came with uh some of the traditional victory grips. What they did is they came with victory grips. And if you guys remember, I called them green arrow grips, but they had an arrow that went down the middle or two lines and it came out, went back down and went into a an arrow. And they are called victory grips. One of the Golf Pride’s most popular grips for years. All right. for years all until the uh the well the the wrap grip and the tour velvet grip came out. It was hands down the thing. Well, this one has a copper coloring in it instead of the green. It also has a brush finish on it, meaning that the grip itself is a little softer. And I was just like, if this thing has a rib in it, I’m stealing it from the customer. But it didn’t. So, I did not. And man, a super super cool look. I thought that was just really neat. He was going for a, hey, what’s in my bag kind of vibe. All right, so another one that we did, the very last one. I’ll show you this. We’ll go backwards. Uh, this one is a set that was going back to Maryland. If you guys watch my Instagram, and it’s I am McGolf. Uh, I put out pictures and videos of the of the builds. I would put the video up here except for that uh I would get I get hamstrung by the music that I use because I I don’t pay for it on Instagram. So PXG Gen Fives, they came to us and they were uh in pretty dogone good shape. And I took out some MMTs and I put in some US or I put in some Mitsubishi C6s. It’s a slightly softer shaft. And then I put on the IMIC uh gray grips. Now, the color combination here was pretty damn good. Uh you had the black and the silver on the head. You had the black and the silver. There’s a black shaft that kind of faded into this almost uh like charcoal silver color and then had the a a reflective uh painting on the back and then we put those grips on it. And so, yeah, cuz see that it matches right there as it’s coming out of the grip. Very st is a stunning set to be sure. We put some bending to it and send it back to Maryland. All right, another one that’s going back out of state and I believe this one goes to Pennsylvania or does it go it goes somewhere else. Anyway, we’re going to work backwards on this one. So, let’s see. These are Mazuno, the 243s, and they have the BBNF uh color on there. And that’s pretty cool. The these uh the BBNFs on these look really really cool. The the white and the black I think just sets off the whole entire uh set with this one. And if you can tell, I used a a Nepon shaft. And this is kind of a ridiculous picture, but if you look down at the bottom, you get to see the brown. There’s the brown label for a a Nepon 850. All right. And then, of course, we topped it off with some Star uh the their tour grip and and in and a white. You know, white is like literally the hardest thing to work on in golf. Uh cuz there’s dirt everywhere. And so, we have to be very particular about that one. Uh but these turned out very, very well. I liked them. They came out, you know, he wanted me to make it just like a Shrix on head. And the Shrixon head for everything that they had was extraordinarily heavy. And I’m not sure what somebody they would have had to put in so much weight. It It should have made it play a little bit differently. Uh so we went for a feel factor. And it is a heavier feel, but it’s not a heavier swing weight. So hopefully that works out. If not, I’m going to be adding some swing weight. And okay, so the next set, if you’re remembering me talking about that uh 13-year-old girl golfer that really turned the corner on it, um we they ended up purchasing the set and they got a set of the Mazuno Hot Metal Pros. And if you look with the one with the little uh barcode on it, that’s actually a Cleveland mid. All right, a Cleveland mid wedge. And we put in the Acura 50s in it to to set it off just a little bit. And then finished it off with the the CP2 standards, right? Standards for a 13-year-old girl. Now, I find out that uh women tend to need larger grips, not smaller ones, particularly if you put them in the fingers because they have longer fingers, so they can wrap around a little bit more. So, uh, if you’re out there and you have your significant other, your wife, or whatever, and they’re like, uh, they they seem to their hands get tired or their forearms get tired when they’re playing, chances are the grip is too small. So, you might want to look into something like that. Uh, we also topped it off with um two woods from Callaway. Got the mini driver out for her and got her an elite u hybrid. And they’re basically stock. They’re using the um the Denali shafts, the appropriate Denali shafts and with the same pardon me again with the same uh with the same grip. Now, uh this one went a little bit I’m going to brag on my wife because I was not about to do it. the uh the the dad who ended up buying them uh gives us a call about 2 hours before closing and says, “Yeah, I can be up there today to pay for them and pick them up.” We’re like, “Great.” He says, “The only one problem is he’s at a wedding that’s an hour about 40 minutes away and he won’t get here until 7:30, 8:00.” Well, that’s a couple hours past closing time. and and I’m just waiting for her to go, “Sorry, can’t do it.” But she says, “No, no problem. We’ll be on the back porch. You just let us know and and then we’ll go from there.” And I was like, “Well, look at her go. Customer service to a whole another level.” And that’s what happened. He showed up uh and was very very thankful. And we have another another happy customer because she was getting ready to go play a golf tournament in two days. So, I told her, “You better get out there and practice because it’s a different set. have a different feel, have to do all the things that we talked about. So, it it was a plus. It was a positive thing. I’m glad that she did it to my to my, you know, surprise. Anyway, okay. Went through that uh stuff on the grill. We did countrystyled ribs. There we go. Man, I got that throat thing. Anyway, did some country style ribs. Um, and I used a, if for you guys that like barbecuing, I would check out that Kinder Hickory barbecue stuff. Stuff is delicious. It was delicious on these ribs. I was, man, we were really, we were doing very, very well with those. Uh, last so to uh, and we’re going to give what we got a new Scottish Open winner. [Music] another American, uh, Gutterup. I’m gonna say that’s his name. Got himself an invite to the open. I’m like, hey, you know, well done for him. So, salute. So, Charlie, we got we got one going here. This is a new riff silver rye. And we’ll talk about that one a little bit. So, I I get as many of those from Silver Grove as we can get because every time you buy a bottle, proceeds go to a Silver Grove uh community center. It helps the kids stay active and that kind of stuff and it’s actually really good. Okay, onto the top. Sorry about that. Onto the topic. I started out mini driver versus driver. We are going to talk about that one because I was actually able to get out Sunday and I did a Charlie and I got out at 6:10 and there I was supposedly supposedly partnered with another person and that person didn’t show up. So I took off maybe 5 minutes early and I look up and there’s a six in front of me. I said, I wonder how this is going to work out. Obviously by hole two I’m catching up to them and they signal me on and they’re we talk and have a good time and they let me go and that was the last time I saw them. They were they were finishing up that the third hole as I was finishing up my fourth and we were all in the third hole. So and I just was done. So I was going to show you I had a picture and I wonder if I still have it. So, on the golf cart, the golf cart um it it tracks your time, right? It tells you if you’re ahead, if you’re behind, that kind of thing. And uh and let’s see what this one does. Yeah, it tracks your time. So, when I got done at in the first nine, Charlie love this one. If you can see it. Let’s see if we can get it out here. Oh, come on. It’s almost there. Right there. Up there. It says 55 minutes. There we go. 55 minutes. So I gained an hour. Uh I gained an hour and kept going and when I got done at the end and I got another picture. It may not come up because you can’t see the dog on things. So too much white. 105 minutes. So you know when you’re playing as a single you can move and shake and not have to worry about things. So uh I shot a when I call and what I’ll say this is for real. I shot a cheating 41 and a cheating 39. And what does that mean? Well, it means that uh from a speed perspective, I do not pull out the stick. And I really hate the stick being in the hole. So, if it if it lays up next to the hole or whatever, I I count it and I move on. Uh but I did count some three putts to be sure. Uh and when in the options when I was uh slowing things down, I took the thing out and if I got a one putt, great. If I didn’t, I took whatever it was. All righty. So, this whole round for me was all about getting my rhythm back and trying to figure out why I struggling with this monstrosity. All right, this is the elite standard. And I think this is a great golf club. And the it’s not this club’s fault. It the predecessor to this started my whole journey down the rabbit hole of you cannot hit the driver. And I figured it out thanks to Miss McGolf taking a picture of how I was swinging through and I was posting up on my back foot and I was like, “Well, there’s the flip and no wonder I’m hitting it up.” So, my whole journey was to get through. And then I picked up this guy, the mini driver. All right, look at that. It’s the same thing, just smaller. And now this one has the Shogun in it, and this one has a Denali. So, they are a little bit different in that in that way, but if you don’t hit the ball, well, it’s not going to go anywhere. And and I was absolutely striping the the mini driver. Now, again, this is in that love period. You know, you got the love uh give you got the love, I’ll take mistakes, and then the hate period with it when it comes to these golf clubs. Anyway, so what I would do is I would I was comparing drivers all the way around as much as I possibly could. And what it came right down to is uh of hitting them both well, right? When I hit them both well on the same tee, they were within two steps of each other. Uh now, when I hit like I hit the driver good on a couple of holes, right, hit the driver good here and and did not hit the mini driver as well. and I was 10 to 20 yards further. All right. And then it goes the other way. When I mish hit the driver and I really take off with the mini driver, I was a good 10 15 yards ahead. So you if if it was apples to apples, are you going to be really that far off? Right? And what it really comes down to is there was a study for every inch, if you want to get nerdy about this, for every inch on this golf club could uh be about a couple mile an hour. All right, a mile an hour uh to 2 m an hour. And if you do that, for every mile an hour you gain is 2 and 1/2 yards. So for an inch to an inch and a half, you could gain about uh five yards to seven yards. So that’s what we’re talking about. Equivalently hit the whole nine yards. The physics of it allow you to gain that much speed. All right? If you think of being on a record player and the arm has to travel faster on the outside than it does on the inside. That’s the idea. Okay? So you you again from a physics point of view yes you should gain some speed in reality or gain some yard gain some speed then yardage in reality does that happen I would say yes once uh depending on the level of the player probably once or twice in a round okay and and the same thing goes for the mini driver so what’s happening I’m what in this neck of the woods I’m seeing a resurgence of the mini driver. People are seeing the people have taken the leap and they have started hitting it and they’re hitting more fairways and the the distance that they say that they’re giving up is within, you know, a couple of steps. So that could be 2, 3, 4 yards. And for two or three, four yards to ensure you’re going to be in the fairway, that is an easy purchase, right? Easy, easy buy. And and honestly, I don’t see it. I still hit on a couple of the holes that I on a couple of holes that I really uh you know, everybody has their favorite holes. So, I was playing at Crown Hill and there’s a couple of holes that I just really like hitting off of. The driver fits my eye and I normally hit it well, just like there’s some that I’m always at an angle or it it turns in a way that I just absolutely cannot stand. And and that’s what we’re So, that’s where I’m at with this. So, and on the ones that I hit uh on the with the mini driver, I the ones I struck well, uh I hit them as far as I’ve hit any of my drives in my past. So, you have to really kind of do that. And one last thing before we move on is that you got to remember that, you know, I did a I did an experiment and never once did the standard length driver ever do outperform a smaller one. Okay? A shorter one. Why is that? And it’s because you got to find the middle of the club face, right? You got to find the middle of this guy right here. Right there. Okay? If you can find the middle of that with a shorter club, you will be far better off than a really long club and hitting the thing and hitting it out here. All right, that the difference here is just staggering. All right, that’s the reason why you talk you see people talking about quality of hit and and and studies will show that as it gets shorter, it becomes easier to hit the middle of the club face. Even the pros aren’t hitting it that long or hitting it with a standard length club. So why should we? All right. Why should we? So everything about this mini driver at 44 in will fit a just a huge amount of people under that bell curve. And at about $150 cheaper, it makes it a a wallet, you know, happy kind of purchase. So, if you’re in the if you’re actually looking for something like that, I would certainly certainly give that a shout. Okay, there’s my soap box for that. Charlie, I’m going have to get another one of these. [Music] Okay, new releases. And there’s a plethora of them. How’d you like that word? Plethora. All right. First came out a new X Forged. Okay. and new XForgged. I’m going to put it in here like this. There you can see that. There we go. New X forged. This is one of many. This is the X Forged uh club in there. I believe there’s an XForgged Max. So, if you look at this, very traditional. It’s a little smaller, right? A little smaller than advertised. It has a an incredibly thin top line. One piece for best I can tell you. And I’m look, you know, it’s got the big uh pyramid type setup right here to get all that mass and under and into the ball. Pardon me. And it has uh if it has a just the slightest amount of hint of offset. All right. Slightest amount of hit offset. What’s what it’s in this thing is the uh KBS dollar taper 120. Uh that’s what this is. That’s the demo club. I’m sure there are others. If you wanted a new DG mid or something along that lines, you could certainly get that there. The next one is the Forged Max. So, for those of us that are not quite that player, if you look, there’s the shot right there. See all that extra that’s in there, right? Look at all that extra. This is a deep cavity forged club. Okay? deep cavity forge club and it has a hint more offset, hence the max. This is uh not as much. This is probably close to the AI the AI AI 200. All right. And the AI 200. And if I don’t know if you can see it in the we’ll we’ll try and see if you can see this, but Oh, I almost had it. See that right there where it’s curved? You got the So, this is becoming a new trend in the irons for Callaway is they kind of create that scallop look in the leading edge so it doesn’t turn into a digger. You have your sole and then at this one toulles. You can see that line right there. So, there’s a lot. It’s a wider sole I would believe. Oh, yeah. A wider sole than that one. You can tell it’s just obvious, right? So the Max is wider in the sole, deeper in the cavity, a little bit more offset, still that forged club. So for those that you’re the purist that wants to hit a forged uh a forged cavity back or a forged club, uh this one has got it all day. Now, the thing that surprises me here is is this. Now, I’ve I’ve had these for a grand total of a minute. So I’m I’m going through this. This is kind of what I look for when I’m looking at these things is that you got holes here. And if you have holes there, that’s just kind of anti MOI. There’s anti-stable. So why is that? Because there’s a whole bunch of weight right here in the middle. And again, the the top line on this guy is a little thicker is a little thicker than the other one. Uh but it’s still a really good looking club. And that’s the kind of shape that if I’m looking for a golf club, that’s the kind of shape I like or something near that one. Right now, the the the X forged. Right. Again, there is nothing back there. This is a a what I would call a very nice players distance club again with a thin top line. And it just has a really nice look. Now, on this one, it too has it too sports that scallop, right? It it it sports the scallop. You can see it right there. It’s a much thinner sole. And then there’s the tri part back there where they release. So, this is all about turf interaction, right? So, if you’re a if you’re a a picker or a very small where you just get small bits of turf, that thing is going to be grand. All right. Absolutely grand. If you take a little heavier divot, then that max club is going to be where it’s at. Now, I have no idea what the I have no idea what the loft angles are on these things. I’m going to assume they’re going to be a little bit more closer to traditional. Uh, but that said, I’ve been wrong in the past about 900 times. Uh, I would assume about a five iron, say 25 to 27 on the one and maybe say 24 to 25 on the other one. We’ll we’ll have to see. Now to the other end of the spectrum is, and this I just literally took the plastic off before I turned on the camera, is the new CB12 wedge. And it’s a green. So I got to dig on this because there’s green in it. And basically what what is this? This is this is the one from the CB wedge that was just previously put out and they did some updates to it. So, on the previous wedge, what you saw on the face, it was a full face uh grooving. I like that. All right. I like the full face, but apparently they did not. And what this one does is this one has the Opus grind on it or the Opus the Opus scoring lines. The Opus groove lines. Yeah, the Opus groove lines. This is every bit of this. This is an opus face on a cavity back club. Okay. On a cavity back club. And this a deep cavity. All right. This is a super easy to hit wedge. All right. Super easy to hit wedge. Now, what they did on this one and they made it a little bit more uh a little bit more easy to tell again is they did the same thing again. There’s this. They call this a tricole. And again, it’s very I wish I could. There it is. You can actually see it. The grind is very very pronounced, right? The very is very pronounced here. A much wider area here. And then a whole this whole area from tip to stern, right? Is just all kinds of that is u is relieved. All right. So, why do you need that? Well, if you’re if you don’t ever ever ever want to take a divot, this is probably the way to go. Okay, if you take a divot with this guy, you are chopping wood in a fashion I don’t even want to know. Um, but the other one is this is massively high bounce, too. So, these are uh 50. The 56s come in 14 and the 50 uh fours and the 58s and the 60s all come in a 12. Now, when you’re talking 60s and 58s, those are normally have lower numbers in them, say eight, you know, and 10 being highest. Now, they got 12 with his massively wide sole. So, the effective bounce on this thing is just over the top high. And when you do that, it’s really easy to go down after the ball and get the ball to come up in the air. Now, I will say this. I put one of these in my buddy Bob’s bag. Not this one, but the pre predecessor. And he’s absolutely slaying it. All right. He is slaying it. Loves this thing. And he likes getting down into the dirt and he picks it up. And I’ve watched him chip in several. And he’s a guy that regularly shoots uh in the very low 80s or the very high 70s. And and so if you know, we’ll call an accomplished player or a guy that can score is is using these I, you know, other folks could as well. Now, what’s in this one is kind of unique. This is a Now, in the other one, in the 10, we’ll call it the 10. Now, let’s just call the CB wedge. In the CB wedge, they went the light route in that they had a graphite shaft that was very light. They had a a steel shaft that was very light. This one has gone a different direction. This one has the high rev 3.0 at a 115 g. Now, I’m sure they have some light ones. See, there it is. is right there. There it is. Hy rev 3.0. And the high rev 3.0 is basically uh the idea is to get the ball to uh the the shaft is going to kick in such a fashion to give you a few more extra revolutions per second or minute, sorry, uh with the face combo and everything else that’s going on. So, super easy to hit, high bounce, super wide, cavity back. I mean, this is just a forgiving wedge. it. Now, for those folks that wanted something a little bit more meaty, you’ve got this really cool wedge that’s coming in there or cool shaft that’s going in there. All right, last but not least, and definitely not least, and I think I got one more of these coming. And the other one that’s coming really has piqued my interest. So, I’m going to go with this one first. We now have the new TI Fusion. All right, the TI Fusion. Let’s see if it’ll pick that up. There it is. Ti Fusion. the TI Fusion, as you can tell, this is kind of a uh we’ll call it a satiny finish where you can see the grain. Uh but they they they you know painted this area. They say it’s chrome, but it’s a dull chrome. If you look, it’s not a super wide uh top line. It’s actually a very nice topline to be sure. It’s a typical Callaway. It’s not butter knife small, but it’s not, you know, big bertha big either. Uh this is a Now what? Why is this a TI fusion? Right. Why is that? Because this is titanium. All right. They titanium braze the the face onto a forged body. All right. So, when you’re talking about getting a forged club, this is the epitome of doing that. Okay. The epitome of doing this. Now, it is also a hollow body. If you look right there. All right. So there’s there’s urethane microsphheres and all the things that makes this club work very well. I’m sure there’s maybe even a tungsten weight in here to get that weight below the club. And it has just a modicum of offset. This is closer to the uh AI 300 in the apexes. Okay. With a little bit more offset. So, this meant to be a slightly bigger, slightly more forgiving, and slightly stronger with a 5iron at 23° and a pitching wedge at 42, I believe. So, a little bit longer. Still got that forge feel. If you want to get it out a little bit further, that’s the way to go. Okay. Uh, that one that one has that one has promise. I I’ve only seen one person hit it and it didn’t marry up with them very well. However, when I gave him this one, it did and it is now the AI 150. All right, the AI 150. I don’t know if they’re trying to steal off of that whole uh titleless thing with the 200s and the 300s and whatnot, but hey, nobody can. You can’t claim a number, I guess. So, we got this, right? And you know what? I’m going to go up there and get me two more things and we’re going to bring those in. Okay, so we’re talking about this one. So, this one is uh if you watch, it’s got MIM technology. This is that metal plate that’s right there. Okay, that metal plate. Now, for a little bit of fun and more customization, they can make you can make them with colors. silver, this copper tone, or even a blue. All right, so you can make it your own. Uh, it has again the top line that is it’s not super thin, but again, this is a hollow body, right? This is a hollow body. 3 through 7. Uh, 3 through 7 is a hollow body. And you can tell by looking right here, there’s going to be with the MIM, there’s going to be really hard to do much uh right at the bottom. So, I’m sure that there’s a a piece that sits right behind the face in order to make it softer. And this thing is a at the five iron is 24 and 44 at the pitching wedge. So, just a hint just a hint weaker. Okay. And I’ve put this in the hands of two people uh that were we’ll call them easy decent ball strikers and absolutely mashed it. Okay. In fact, uh one the very first set I it was probably it set a new world record of going from being unwrapped to being purchased was an 18-year-old who was playing baseball in college. And I I got him into one of these guys and uh he was playing with a much much older set and I told him we were going to get more distance to be sure how much I wasn’t sure and I got him hitting this particular club uh on average to 198. All right. Yes, he’s a big swinger and he was keeping in control of it too. And when he turned around and looked at me and he said he much would have much rather played golf in college, I said, “You should have come seen me before you turned 16.” Anyway, uh this one, this one I think there’s going to be a lot of promise with. And who’s to say if you need a little bit more oomph, you couldn’t make a little stronger, right? Uh but it has the if we look at this one, uh you get to see the uh on the you saw on the TI, there wasn’t a whole lot in the way of grind. It was just a nice flat uh sole where this one, if you see it, there you go. You can see the shading right there. It’s got the scallop in it. Now, on this one, uh it goes and it’s rounded on the back and then you see it on the front with a slightly flatter. I would This thing would be uh for me, if I was looking at this guy, if this thing had just a hair more radius, it would almost be the perfect golf club. So, it just something to be said there. Now, there’s different shafts, right? In the in the Apex, they’re going to have a set of shafts. In the Elites, they’re going to have a set of shafts. And in these new the Apex, the one the Ti, and this other, they’re going to have different sets of shafts. So, and we just and we just got those as I was walking through the door and we pulled them up. And the graphite is using MMTs or the uh MMTs and it’s another black shaft. What I’m saying is they’re very stout graphite shafts. So, they’re going to have different shafts that are becoming standard that come in these things. So, now with all these different options available, with all these different shafts that are in there, you really, really, really want to go get fit because you may find that this is the world’s best head for you. Or maybe this is the head that fits you the best, right? But the shafts that come with them are maybe just a little bit too much and maybe that dynamic gold mid is where you want to be or you might find out that a nepon is where you want to go and that’s where that the fitter comes in. So that because these things are uh you know any investment into a forge club is not going to be inexpensive. So spend that little extra amount and understand what you need, why you need it, and where you need it. And then get it if you want it, right? And that way you can get you can get the right thing and then just enjoy golf. All right. Woo. How far did I go? Man, look at me go. That took me a whole a little over a half an hour to get through there. So again, to recap, mini driver versus driver. Unless Unless you’re just absolutely slaying the driver and you’re looking maybe for something else to be a little bit more of a fairway finder and not lose sacrifice anything, the Mini Driver. And I can’t say enough about the Elite. Of course, I’m a Callaway guy, so take that for what it’s worth. But if you can shrink that down and have the exact same technology that’s in the driver, uh what’s wrong with that? Nothing. All right, we got the the very forgiving wedge. Now, the CB12, if you like green, it’s all there. Notice the green in the back, Scottish and all that other stuff. Then we have the the two single billet forge clubs. At least I’m going with that cuz that was what the first models were with a lot of soul uh soul grind and turf interaction. And normally that’s for that better player that knows how to deal with that, right? And then if for those of that want to hit a little bit further, but still want that forged look and that one piece feel, the Max And then there’s another one. Then we got the TI Fusion. There’s a TI Fusion 250 out there. Uh I haven’t looked it up, but apparently it’s even strong, more stronger than this. Uh I think we’ll see. And the and the TI Fusions actually come in a black. So if you want a black color, there you go with that. And then last but not least, uh I think this is going to be quite popular in uh when people go to hit them just because of what I’ve seen from a reaction so far. All right, LA. Oh, and one more thing I got to show you. And I was caught off guard when I was uh flying around the website. For those who like wedges, uh the Opus comes in a blue. Booyah. Right. That’s their platinum blue. Uh so they also have a platinum black and then they have their regular platinum. And that’s that that special grind that comes on. has the tungsten across the top in order for you to hit a more controlled lower ball flight. Okay. All right. So, get back into the last bit I’m going to talk to you about and it’s going to be really really uh uh really quick in that uh few pictures of playing yesterday. And I just I took a handful, but you don’t need to see them all. So, this is a green on the back nine and I took a pitching wedge. It’sund 155 plus yards, but there the the T- box is very very elevated. And I’m here to tell you my irons, those apexes are working phenomenally. I took a specifically shorter club because the ground was very hard and everything was bouncing forward. And this thing hit the very front of the green and that’s how far it went. So, and this is a very large green. It’s It is 100 foot, right? Easy. No problem. All right. And then uh let’s see. We have another one. This one is another par three on the back that the first one was number 11. This one is number 16. The same thing. This is from Oh, there’s the from the look for that one. That’s what it looks like. So, you can get the idea of the size. This one is number 17. Again, it’s all T- box. goes downhill. You can take off a club. It’s 170 and some change. And I literally hit a nine iron. All right, that’s how much you get from this distance. And I know I hit in the front of the green and it rolled past it and and past the hole in order to get up in there. Uh I was just playing like that all day long. And and then uh the last bit of it is number 18. This there’s Look at that. You got to thread a needle right there. And uh that was the shot for for number 18. I will say what’s been saving me at least in this round and the round I went out with Mississippi golf was my wedges. And I have taken a different tune to wedging my game in that uh I used to really want to muscle a wedge. You know, I really wanted to muscle a wedge and I just, you know, I thought, well, I’ve got the touch for it. Let’s go muscle this wedge. And no. and and it really came to light when we did that video. I was uh being very smooth, shall we say? And and I was getting great results. So, I took that into the second round. And there was places where uh you know, I was in thick turf and I had to pop it out. So, I’d put it in the back of the stance and just give it this little flick or this little pop and it would raise up and it would hit and it would do exactly what I wanted. And it was putting me, you know, in a lot of instances, I was putting for a lot of birdies, right? Out of the 18, I bet I was putting for 12 birdies and and I I made one. Okay, I made one and and that’s it. And but I was the second putts were, you know, pretty decent and within a, you know, within a 3 4ft circle and and that’s what we’re that’s what I was looking for. So, working backwards, I need to trim up the putting a little bit, but I certainly need to get the uh the long stick going a little bit better so it the so I can have a fight between a driver and a mini driver in the back. All righty. So, that’s what we got. That’s where we’re at. Uh and we’ll go from there. We’re going to do this one more time. Okay. Hey, I’m going to plug I’m going to plug my other channel, Pars and Pores. Uh I and the reason being is because it’s very golf oriented and I’ve come up with a with a concept and I’ve got it laid out. I’ve got the logos going and I got the brackets formed up and it’s called the writer cup. The r ye der cup. And I’m going to do nothing but contest rise all the way through it. Turns out I got enough in my own possession to be able to do that without going to borrow any bottles. and they’re all pretty good. So, if you want to see how the RDER Cup works and who and what’s playing and where, if you got any questions, go over to the Par and Porsche channel and check that out. Okay, so here we go. Questions to the very top. Here we go. We got Wayne, what’s going on? Uh, first time seeing the broadcast in three weeks. Been in Pensacola on vacation. So, that’s a very that’s a very good excuse. Last week was 77. 40 in the front, 37 on the back. Bad thing. Left four putts on the lip. There you go, dude. Well, excellent job, though. Excellent job. 77. Who’s going to Who’s going to worry about that, right? Here we go. Matt shot a 68 today. Matt is absolutely slaying it. Good night, dude. Got to watch my son get his first par. Nice. Maybe he’s going to get the bug. question, where does the weight of the shaft fall within the spectrum of fitting and performance? Uh, and then the mini. So, the so shaft weight is obviously very very important because it contributes to the total weight of the golf club. And we’ve I’ve been down this path several times, particularly when we talk about swing weight. You know, swing weight does have its place, but I believe that the total weight is far more important than the swing weight. All right? For instance, that 13-year-old girl, she swung uh I will say slightly aggressive for 13 years old. Uh but at 13 years old, still needs to uh gain a little bit of strength. So, what we needed to do was give her a lightweight shaft, but change the flex on this thing. so it would react a little bit better and to the point I tried a 50 and I tried a 60 and it went south almost immediately. So, so total weight in the shaft is extraordinarily important. Now, in this uh the mini driver does have a uh does have a 60 g shaft in it much like most drivers do. In fact, this is a Yep, it’s a 60 g uh 6.0. And and so what they do in this particular one, uh, they just add just a hair of weight and it’s not going to be as heavy as the driver because it’s the mini driver. So there you go, Stephen from Tennessee. Shot an 82 on Saturday, then on Sunday went 3738. Wow, nicely done, dude. Very well done. I like to hear that. Tennessee is happy right now. Well done. There’s Charlie. Good mats. Uh good Matt. Good round, Matt. It’s uh fulfilling to watch our kids have a good hole and good time with the game. And I would agree. Uh some of my some of my favorite times was going around uh with my oldest son and we would we would do a a par three, a par four, a par five as part of him uh getting ready for tournaments. And uh I would let him pick whether it was total score or total number of holes and we and the loser had to buy the hot dog and a Coke at the end. So you would thought that man oh man it was it was a lot different and there’s nice rounds. Yep. Steven’s coming around. Yep. Very well done. So on this one, Charlie, this one is a Old Forester single barrel rye. I’ve been doing the Ry I’m staying in that rye theme for right now. That Silver Grove was a rye. This one was on the very first floor of the Ruck House. And it is so cherry-like and gentle, it’s not even funny. I I got I got a 2 oz of one waiting on you. And maybe this will go into another one. Emanuel, what do you say, sir? Hopefully you’re feeling well. Uh, hello Jim and Rob and all the Global MC disciples attempting to golf tomorrow. See what happens. Love your golf video. Well, thank you. I think we’ll probably try a little bit more of that. If I can get Miss McGoff to go out there with me. I don’t know if you guys watched her when I was hitting the I was hitting the hybrid. Did you hear get up and go over? That was her. She was rooting me on. So, that’s pretty nice. Uh, but we I hopefully you get your round in. Hopefully it all goes well and hopefully you get good news. Emanuel. [Music] All right, Charlie stumble around this weekend. 8282 did manage to keep it under 40 for the front one day. Well, there you go. I take, dude, I take 8282 all day long, you know, because I don’t get it out but once a week and if I can get 8282, that’s a happy day. If I get 78, man, it it’s break out the champagne. Uh but and that, you know, just being realistic. Now, I know uh of course I’d like to shoot a 76 all day long, but that’s not going to happen. Yeah, that’s what we are going to wonder. Hopefully answers. And there’s Charlie saying, “Hello.” Ah, customer wants me to weaken the new 925s. I am reluctant and the new soles may cause some unwarranted turf interaction. He wants anywhere from 3 to four degrees. He hits them too far. Holy cow. If you want to take out three or four degrees, that’s an entire club. That’s literally an entire club. a manual, just have him take the next club up, you know, hit it shorter, you know, if he’s doing that. Now, if you’re going to weaken it, right? If you’re going to weaken it and you’re sitting here like this and you’re going to weaken it, so that means the club face is going to go like that, that means the leading edge is going to go up. So, you know, if he’s a if he’s already a let’s say a picker or a very light turf interaction, he’s going to skull the living snot out of these things. Uh you might just you might just give him a degree or two and let him go hit him and see what happens. Or the other thing it could do is choke down on the club a little bit and just see what happens there. All righty. Thanks for asking. Four weeks away from my surgery. We have to go back and have them coat the bladder once a week for 8 weeks. Today though, I’m feeling better. Well, we hear we like to hear you, buddy. Everybody’s got their your thoughts and prayers worm. George JFW, he’s going, “Hey, hey, what’s going on?” Stephen, thanks. I never thought that switching from LP irons to new shaft staff irons would make that much of a difference. Well, you’re talking to the same you’re talking to another guy that did something very similar. Uh was never a fan of the blades, but these are Wow. And I would agree completely. They are very nice head. Going to keep on going. That’s what we’re here. We’re going to have the manual watch now. Thanks, Charles. Fun times at 13. He loves driving the cart, so walking was not in the cards today. Well, maybe get him out there and he starts swinging a little bit more. It’s not like he’s not in shape with all that soccer he’s playing. Wilson makes some quality equipment. And yes, they do. I’d agree. I’m fully expecting to see a Dino Forge that’s going to be just out of this world at the end of this year. There’s Marknet. How are you, sir? Of course, Matt. It won’t be long before he’s asking for his driver’s license. Oh my gosh. Yes. What in about 13 two more years and it’s learner’s permit time. Wow. I lived in the part of the United States that uh because it was all surrounded by farmland that at 14 you could literally drive in with your truck because it was it was known that you were going to go back to the farm directly after and go straight into the farm field. I don’t even know if they do that anymore. John Cherry, what do you say, sir? Jim Robin and fellow golfers from Myrtle Beach. Aiation is now complete on the golf course as of today, reopening the second 9 tomorrow morning. Oh, there’s probably going to be some really unhappy people when they get out there and they still see that. If we’re saying irriation is complete, meaning that it’s healed, or if it’s just complete and there’s a whole bunch of holes with all those dirt turds everywhere, that’s going to be a real You guys are going to have a lot of fun with that. Alrighty. Hello. Oh, great topic. Well, thank you, Herman. Alicio’s Adventure Regular for the win. Okay. Robin says, “Hello, Wayne. Welcome live.” Charlie, “Beware of bumpy greens.” Yeah, no kidding. Beware of guys with bad attitudes after putting on bumpy greens. That’s really the thing. Uh Travis, hello Jim. Do you believe long epoxy, long set epoxy is stronger than quick set or is that a myth? H in the day it was true. Okay. The longer and it was we’re talking about sheer strength and that’s it. Sheer strength. Okay. Not the not the malibility of it but sheer strength. It was a little bit higher. All right. Now, was it subjectively, you know, oh my god, I got to have all this higher? No. I’m not real familiar what it takes to break because it would be like 29. It was between 29, what was it? Yeah, 20 20. Yeah, 29 and 3,100 lb sheer strength. And when you went with the tour level stuff, it was be it was right at 27 27 to 20 25 to 27. So, you’re talking anywhere from 500 to 200 lb of force to change. Now, that’s 500 lb of force is a lot, don’t get me wrong, but when you’re still up there in the 2,000 lb of force, is that going to be a big deal? Now, the idea of the tour set also was that it was out on the tour, those guys hit the middle of the face, you could get it out there, get it to them faster, and that’s what it was. So, uh, nowadays I tried like I I compared my the DP810 with a DP420. The DP810 is the standard that’s on the tour trucks. The 420 is actually made for the golf club. And I went looking at sheer strength and they’re within a couple I believe they’re within a couple poundund pounds of each other and it’s virtually non-existent. All right. So, we go there. CB12’s going in the bag. Herm, we’re going to have to see. I want to see. I want to hear about it. I want to hear about Now, the cool part about this one is this is the only left-handed thing I got. Only left-hand thing I got. And I know for a fact that that’s going to get tested. So, we’re going to have fun with that one. We’re going to take it back out there to thin stuff and thick stuff and sandy stuff and just see how it works. Robin saying hi to Matt finally. Drew Brown, good to see you. Sailor. Okay. How you buddy? What’s going on? Matt saying hi to Robin. Phil K. Ri Robin and Jim and all not hot sweaty mess this past Saturday. Not used to the Mazuno driver just yet. Emma pick uh to Jim. I got that. What was what was the uh Oh, that was the one you put together with that. Was that the Was that a KBS shaft? I couldn’t tell because I tried to enlarge it and the the email fuzzed it over. The email fuzzed it over and I was really wonder. It looked like something between a KBS TD a TDI and a an old uh graphite design. That’d be neat. Tell me what it is. There’s Hello, Stephen. Possibly the mini driver, too. Uh, dude, I can’t I can’t talk enough good about it, but you know, it’s because it’s impacted me. Uh, I just got stopped by another guy that plays golf and very low handicapper and uh very low handicapper. And he stopped me. He says, “What do you think about the mini driver?” I said, “Well, what good do you want to know?” and he said, “Well, he was playing in a couple of tournaments that were money tournaments and one of his playing partners had the mini driver and never missed a fairway.” And I said, “Well, that can be part of it, right?” And he says, and he says, “Oh, I can’t get it out there any further.” I’m like, “You lying dog.” And uh but I told him, you know, the the key for him is getting the right shaft and he should be able to get it up in the air pretty well. So, there we go. All right, George says, “Picked up a set of the ZX-4 MK2s with the Cambius Tourite steel shafts. Most forgiving irons I’ve ever tried.” And they are the the the ZX4 for those of you not in the US and ZX4 for those of us that are. Uh the thing is mon it’s a monster club. I mean, it’s huge. It’s very large in its blade length, which makes it incredibly forgiving. It’s also very wide in its blade length or its sole length that makes it really hard to get into the turf. So, it it’s and it looks really good, too. I’m still trying to figure out my yardages. I think they play about a one and a half clubs longer than the 18. Oh, yeah. For sure. The uh the Oh, George. Yes, the 18s are I would venture a guess your your five iron is probably somewhere around 27 to maybe even 29. And the the five iron in this in these guys are probably somewhere in the 23 to 24. So, oh yeah, for sure. And the fact that you can still get them up in the air is crazy, isn’t it? All right. Alicio’s Adventure. Really like my 90 degree driver. Uh then I have a stealth plus two turned down to 13. Turned down to 13. Very nice. Three. Oh, okay. Compared against a couple mini drivers, not much difference. Well, the in the in the stealth two and a 13 when you if you get a 13 degree mini driver, uh they could be very well the same, right? Because they’re both 13. And as we said, they’re, you know, they’re very close to one another. Uh, as far as the distance goes, the thing you really have to want to look at, Alicio, is that, uh, fairways hit. Uh, because it’s shorter, you get a little bit more control without the lack of the distance. So, see, check that out the next time and see how well you’re getting out of it. see how much accuracy and actually get between the two and uh and give them a shot and and and choke down that plus two and choke down and see which one keeps you in play. There’s Hi, Robin. And where am I at? There’s Charlie. Oh, here we go. I lost him. Holy cow. I’m trying to find you guys here. Somewhere along the lines, I went all the way down to the bottom. And I still haven’t figured out. There he is. Okay. I can show the comments on stage, but I’m not See, look. I can do this. See, does it show up? I don’t know if it does or it doesn’t. We’re taking it off anyway. All right. Here’s where Robin starts talking. Hello, Emanuel. Hope he uh have a good turnaround. Talking to George. Anyone seen the new Oh, George wants to know anyone seen the new tailor made driving iron. It looks like uh Bomber. That’s a cool looking club. I have not. The thing last thing I just saw was from Cal or Tailor Made was the uh that quad. That’s their version of a mini driver. Uh that’s kind of cool. the uh although I’m not a fan of the quad. The quad wasn’t a very good driver uh with all the weights and stuff on it. Uh but I’m sure that you know with today’s things that they turned it into a it’s probably a stealth with the with the paint job of a quad. Says, “I remember those grips. The arrows were green in color.” Yep. Yes, they were. And you could most people were hitting them with a wire brush to give them that brush look that they got automatically. I stole the told the customer they were old school green. Yep. And he wanted once he saw them too. You know, he normally would like a different grip, but he saw those and saw how they looked on the golf club and he’s like, “No, they got to go on.” All righty. Saying hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello, hello again. Ah, here we go. John says, or Herman says, “Those ribs look delicious.” Well, I’m gonna pat myself on the back, Herman. They were They were really good. The last two cooks I’ve put out on there, I’ve let them cook an extra, say, 5 to 10° more. And what’s happened is is that they’ve gained a little bit more in flavor and they’re just really tender. Same thing happened with the the the pork butt that I did. Man, oh man, was it good. Some bourbon syrup will help that throat of yours. Well, okay. You know, maybe maybe it just did. They were the best. Yes. Very very tasty. There was one left. John Lamb. Oh, hi. All rain today, so no golf. Catching up on the honeydew list. Uh fun playing carpenter though to get to play with my table saw, my saw and still have all my fingers. Yeah, dude. That’s a That’s a big deal. And uh I will show you. I don’t know if you’ll be able to see that, but you see that guy right there? That thumb that is a table saw accident. I thought and my thumb had slipped and I went right across the the blade and uh table saw doesn’t care. And uh so I ended up having to go and they glued me together and had to wait till it healed and the whole 9 yards. Although I have seen they got one of those automatic brakes for it. If you’re I mean if you’re truly worried about losing a limb, they do have this addition. It c it’s pretty pricey, but it works. Alrighty. Uh my 77 was just three strokes shy of shooting my age. Not too shabby for 74 year old left-handed golfer. You go, Wayne. That’s what we want to hear right there. I’ll take a 77 all day long. All right. James Guyger. Uh, why not just shorten a shaft of a regular drone to add and add loft? Uh, I’ve shortened my driver on your recommendation and lofted up to 12 and hitting it straighter. Now, so this is a little different. the uh uh in a lot of cases if you went down. So the difference is it it comes down to to to looks James that’s what it comes down to. So if you you know the reason why the club heads are so big is cosmetics, right? They come in because when you made the club longer, you were further away from it and you wanted it to look uh normal. And we’ve gotten used to this guy right here being the size and then this one being smaller. Now technologically, you know, technological advances with titanium and carbons and stuff, you could probably make a 600cc driver out there and be fine. But it comes out, it looks when you have that smaller head, the cosmetics of it doesn’t make you feel like you’re swinging a basketball on a stick. All right. Now, if you’re okay with that, then yeah, there probably isn’t a whole lot different. It might come out just a hair lighter, of which you could add a little bit of tape and just go with it. Wouldn’t the bigger head of a regular driver be forgiving the smaller? Uh, in some cases, yes, in some cases, no. It comes down to MOI. Um, it it it comes down to MOI, right? And in that case, that’s where that would go. Now, uh, in theory, the bigger driver, uh, would be more forgiving, uh, but that’s assuming that you’re hitting it all over the place, but we talk about, you know, and that’s the thing I I love talking with golfers about because we we talk about, well, what’s more forgiving? And then we turn around and we talk about absolutes all of a sudden. And in golf, there is none, right? So if you’re talking about, you know, moving it around in this particular area, would it one be more forgiving the other? The answer is no. All right. But if you start getting out in here, ah, that’s a little different, right? when you start getting out on toes and you get a little too far out on a toe, you know, and and again, if you again, let’s just say and you have to say that from the center of the golf club out to here at an inch to an inch and a half, you still got golf club on the other one, an inch and inch and a half, you’re probably sitting out here. Now, if you’re always doing that, well, then yes, this is going to be that’s going to be there. But as it gets smaller, you tend to focus and you get more into the center and that’s how that tends to work. So in in the in the practicality of it, bigger normally means more forgiving. However, in this particular application, I’d say they’re about equal. All righty. John Lenn says, “Last four rounds 84 82. Stumbled with the flat stick. Shot 87. managed to a couple of chip ends. Nice. Fourth round shot in 81. Still managing the elusive 70s these days. May as long as you’re having fun, dude. Who cares, right? Who cares? And if you’re liking it, then that’s fine. And then uh there’s there’s Kster. Now we got some reports coming in from Kister. I saw him swinging a seven iron. I don’t know what kind it was, but we’re going to have to hear about that one. You need to put some wax on the mini driver. There’s no doubt, dude. This thing has been through the This thing’s been through it now. Uh it needs it needs a little cleaning on the bottom, the the face now, just like in that one. I say that these faces really take a lot of uh you know, cuz they got to contend with not just the ball, but the tea and they’re they’re taking the punishment very very well. Robin, a little crystal. All right. How are the new irons working out? That’s what we’re looking for. There’s Robin talking to Drew. Here’s a new one. Joseph Wartz, how you doing? Dispersion gains is the main reason I gain the mini driver. And a lot of people do, Joseph. They do. And that uh because that’s and you know, when you’re trying to lower scores, it’s easier to score well from the short grass than the tall grass, right? And again, if you you know, could you cut down the driver as as James said earlier? I don’t see why you couldn’t. Uh it’s just going to look the the the ratio is going to look a little different. And again, if it doesn’t bother you, then have at it. Charles, the new irons are working really well. I borrowed a GT21 hybrid. Uhoh. Well, we’re going to have to hear about this one. He says he’s waiting on his own 18 degree and a new 8deree driver. Oh, come on. I thought that driver was staying in the bag a little longer than that. All right, here we go. We need we need some particulars, Kister. Let’s give us the lowdown, man. And Joseph says, “Greetings.” Well, welcome to the group, buddy. You got more questions, throw them out there. Charles Bartholomew says, “Oh, two, Charles, hazardous black 5G 80 g stiff.” 5G 80 g stiff. That sounds just like the stuff that you used to hit before. And then the GT2 has got a 90 g stiff, extra stiff in it. Okay. Yep. Those are pretty. Those are stout. Those are back up in the crystal area that we’re used to. I like them, too. Didn’t like the last version of the hazardous shafts. We have to get to it. John Lamb, I shortened my old sim max to 44 and a half about a week ago. Didn’t notice a real drop in distance, but my dispersion is a lot better. Fairway finder moved the loft to about 11° and it works. So, let’s talk about that again. All right. The mini driver runs around 44 in. It might say 34 33 and 3/4 7/8 or whatever. It’s 44 in. Okay. And what and the length of a normal driver is anywhere between 45 12 and 46. Okay. Normally the stuff that says max or most forgiving or fast or something like that. They’re going to creep up around that 46 where the average would be about 45 and a half. And why do we do that? Because golfers have a very short memory when it comes to a driver, particularly after you lace one. Okay? If you lace one and all the other bad shots disappear, not on your scorecard, but in your head. All right? And and that’s what that’s the reason why they do what they do because every once in a while you guys are including me too because this guy is problematic right now. uh it can get out there and and you go, “Oh, yeah. Okay, that’s that was great. How do I do that?” And but when we do fittings, that 44 1/2 to 44 and 3/4 is like the the under the bell curve is like the average, you know, if you’re 6′ tall, you know, and even up maybe up to 6’2, you could probably get away with a 44 and 1/2 in driver. If you start getting under six foot, maybe 44, maybe. It depends. Depends on your stand, your arm length. There’s a lot of things that go into play for club length. And the club length, as John is telling you right here, is number one is you’re able to square up your golf club when you hit it, and you’re able to find the middle more. That right there, those two things are the things that you need to do when you hit the driver. not wildly flail at it, but to get it in the middle of the golf club, the best part of the golf club, as squared up as much as you possibly can to give you your flights that you like or or you know, in order to do those things. And normally the shorter golf club does that. Okay, that’s the reason why these things are taken off the way they are because nobody thought to cut down the driver or even look to go to 44 and a half and just basically up their stats. All right. Oh, here we go. Chris’s on fire. Last two nine hole rounds. Shot 3433 net. Uh, first round I was minus five after seven holes and shank the T-OT onto hole eight. Made a double bogey on Oh, Krist needs to get that that closure mentality going and then he’ll be killing it. I have played some of the same ball rounds. All right. Looks like it’s coming around. I would agree. I would agree completely. [Music] Wow. Oh, I forgot to tell you, Charlie. Uh, this is 130 proof. All right. John says 82 is still pretty respectable round. I play with a few folks who would be ecstatic with that in a clubhouse and would probably be demanding beers. I’d be happy with it. Yes, I’m getting the game back thanks to the hybrid. Well, you did pretty good with the hybrid last time, right, John? Yes. Is we have rounds in the 70s our expectations changed and not always for the better and our attitudes and our tempers and all kinds of other stuff. or those rounds with your new irons. That’s a good question. John, to be fair, I did miss a few birdie putts that would have made the difference. Uh John’s saying, “True, but it’s only a couple of putts or chips from an 82, so still a great round.” I’d agree. I like doing that when you get back in there and you you start looking at the scorecard and you go, “Well, if I would have done this here and if I would have done that there and if I would have done this here and if I would have done that there, that and what that is, that’s a language to tell other fitters of where you’re at in your game. You’re not saying I needed to hold the club in a certain way or I needed to get off the tea better or something like that.” Pardon me. Those are guys that are shooting 90s and above. Okay. uh what the when you start talking about I I needed to place my ball here. I needed to make a putt there. I need to do that. You’re in that next tier and it it becomes a course management type uh language. And by the language, I can tell that you would shoot in the 80s. Now, when you’re in your 70s and when you were here talking to Matt, Matt Matt doesn’t say, “Oh, I did this.” He’s just what you get is, well, I just wasn’t hitting my window or the I wasn’t kind of getting into the ball or something along that lines because the the mechanics are already there. The idea of what you’re going to do is already there. The swing is already there and everything. It’s just about now hitting your mark. That’s really kind of fun to hear that. All right. says Chris says after he tested the GT221 started to think that maybe a three hybrid setup is good thing like 182124 or three gap between hybrids is too small a gap actually no it’s not at the taller end you want that because you’re going to hit them distinctively different distances and at the way that you’re hitting them they’re going to at least be a 10 yard gap at least. Okay. And I carry an I carry an 18, a 21, and 24 in my bag. And I go two I go and it’s exactly right down the middle. I go 230, 220 or 215, and then I go to 20 200, 205, and it’s right there. And that’s and I rely on that. Chris, you need to hit them and clock your distances to let them know may work very well for you. Absolutely. He’s got that driving range. You probably ought to just go hit what you really need to do, Chris, is go hit about 15 balls and take out a couple of the really long ones and a couple of the really short ones and then average them up and just go and say this is what I hit it and then your confidence is right there. Ah, John Cester, if you can get them to the range and see how far they fly and work. Yep. Might help. Go by flight, not by the number. There you go. As long as you didn’t leave the putt short. My dad my two dads would give me all kinds of grief if I did that. Oh yeah. Plane partners. That’s just that’s just easy ribbing right there. Yeah. I can do that with my own 18 hybrids delivered. Then I can test both 18 and 21. Yep. Uhoh. Yep. Left them short. What is it? 98% of the putts that are short don’t go in. Rodney Shelby, what do you say, bud? What do you think of oversized titanium fairway woods instead of a mini driver? I have an old school Cleveland launcher titanium fairway wood and it’s a missile. Well, again, it’s in that same category, right? Is a shorter club. The titanium probably is a little bit longer knowing Cleveland. Uh, and it’s 13 degrees to get it up in there and it would do that. And the titanium fairway wood uh particularly from Cleveland is uh probably we’ll call it first generation or even sec generation uh technology for a driver. So yeah, I mean if it’s monster size, I don’t say why not. What do you think about the new Mazuno S1 iron? It looks less Mizuno than the older models. I I I don’t know if I’ve seen the S1 yet, Ker. I’ve got the S3. The S3 looks outstanding, right? The S3 looks outstanding. Now, you being in Europe probably get them a lot f will see them a lot faster than I will, but I tell you what I’m going to do. Let’s look at this. Oh, it’s going to be a blade anyway, right? Here we go. Oh, there it is. Well, let’s see. Let’s give it a bit of a look. Oh, this is a take off. This is a little bit of a run off of their wedges. A little cleaner design. I would think that’s what that is. It’s just a little cleaner design. I don’t think it looks bad. It basically has got a big curvature out of the middle instead of, you know, just a cut out. It’s it it goes from toe the the top end of it and then it curves in and then gets into the heel and that follows suit with that S3 so that they can blend the two. Hit the thumbs up. My dog Rex says, “Thank you, sir. It’s a beautiful looking iron.” It is. It’s a very nice iron. Nice photo of the water tower, Jim. Oh, you got me thinking. The water tower. Where did I do a water tower on? Oh, in the background. Yeah, that’s up there. That’s how tall that place is, man. It’s on the top of a hill. That’s how high up in the air it is. Robin saying, “Thanks, John Lyn. I watched what’s in my bag video you shot on the golf course. Thoroughly enjoyed. If you can find the time, would you love to see more?” Oh, well, I’m glad you guys like it. If I can get the the guys at the local closer golf course to let me in on that, we’d probably do a lot more of that. She did film it. We made We both made that technical error at the end. I I forgot to put the the receiver back in on the camera cuz we thought we were done because the rain came in. The rain came in, the camera goes in the bag and it soon soon as I like on that hole 10 or hole nine, as soon as I got done swinging, it went away and I said, “Well, let’s finish this out.” And we set it all back up. I just forgot to put the thing together. So, a bunch of rookies working with each other. I have a career as a new camera person on the tour. There you go. And as long as a slurpie cup, no doubt. And I still got half a bag of that, Charlie. I still got half a bag. It might be worth a trip. We might have to go back to Starlight for that one. I think so. Charlie, don’t tell Jim he put me to work for I’m close to retirement. You’re not that damn close. All right. On a side note, Acurate TZ85s are working very well with my hookie or hockey style slap shot. Shorten the back swing and boom, and away it goes. Now, the reason being for that, John, is because that is actually a quite the it’s quite a stiffer profile, right? Quite the stiffer profile with the uh the tip section being a little bit more firm than a lot of them are. And with that that hockey style slap, uh that’s a great shaft for that particular tempo that you’re putting on. All righty. Only two holes rounds last week. shot a 76 and 77. I said, “Well, that’s pretty dog on good.” Well done, buddy. It’s only a month of the Clump Championship. 54 holes, 36. Well, we expect good things after you just did all these changes, bud. We We want to hear Kster is the new Country Club champion and he get his rounds for free the following year. Wouldn’t that be something? Alrighty. It’s like Peter Finchin is trying to get on the uh open and dude made some seriously great progress. Just didn’t quite have it all in that last round. JCW7777. Come play the links at RDGC. Where’s RDGC at? Where’s that at? That’d be kind of neat to see here. And he’s saying hello. saying hi back. Peter made it on. What do you say, buddy? From Myrtle Beach. My son’s coming in town. Nice. Father and son. Uh-oh. You guys are going to destroy that tournament again. I’ll be happy to see him. However, more happy seeing my clubs come back home. Well done, sir. Well done, he said. But don’t let him see your TI fusions. They might the his clubs might be staying there. Carmen Railless, what do you say? I’m hitting a Wilson LP3 wood. It’s straight super easy up the fairway. I’m 70 mph swing speed. Would a stiffer shaft give me more distance? No. Uh 70 mph off of the is a uh I would not call that’s probably an ax to a senior flex type stuff. A stiffer shaft would keep you straighter and lower. Uh but if you’re playing now here’s the thing everything in golf is it depends right uh if you are playing let’s say in Florida and the fairways are cut quite tight and runout is a thing right you could probably hit a stiffer shaft keep it lower and watch it run like a scalded dog and yeah very well you may end up getting some extra distance it would be very very unconventional but it would work right now. If you had to carry items like a creek or a sand trap or something like that, it’s that will be your enemy. So, you want to be very very careful in how you choose that. Robin says, “Hello, hello again.” Peter Jim, when or why not the adapters when or why the adapters are now in right-handed versus left-handed? Why? Uh oh. That’s because uh the the cogs work differently. Okay. So, for me, if you can see that, let’s see if it’ll tune in on this a little bit. I don’t know if it’ll get in there or not. There it Oh, there it is. See that little line underneath there? That signifies left-handed. And what happens is uh in a lot of cases what you can do is from the neutral standard setting they’re the same for both lefty and righty. Okay? Because that’s where they both start. But on if you have a right-handed cog, it’s literally opposite of what it is. If you put in a left-handed head, it’s opposite. So if you said one down, it’d be one up. If you said one closed, it would be one open. It would be just all that different stuff. Okay, it would just be absolutely opposite. Now, when you use these cogs from Callaway, the it’s very very close. The the equation’s not quite the same, but it’s very very close. I’m seeing her for the first time. Oh, okay. New Wilson Dino Forge coming. Better get my wallet ready now. Yeah, I that’s it’s their time, Charlie. Uh that’s what’s happening. Uh it’s it’s just their time. The uh the Wilson Dina Powers came out this year, so the Dina Forge will be uh at the end of this year and maybe, just maybe, the Forge product will change over as well. I have a feeling since Harry went over there and he’s trying to drive a lot of product development more geared towards the tour that we might see something in the way of a new CB as well. That’s purely speculation. I don’t know for certain uh because they tend to go longer on their forge clubs. However, uh the Dino Forge and the CB are about due. Have a wonderful time. There we go. Uh, green irration was done a week ago. We also ate the fairways, collars, and approaches. Tea box greens have been top dressed in last week. Yes, a little bumpy. There you go. Top dress greens are fun, especially with the sand rooster tail coming off of them. Yeah, and the fact that you, you know, if you hit the ball really well, you’ve got that one elliptical sand uh stripe on your ball. Hey, Lawrence joined us. What do you say, dude? Rob saying hello. John Charles, for my birthday is coming up. Make sure your wallet has enough dollars for two sets. All righty. We’ll have to catch the rest on a replay. Have to be at a job site at 5:00 a.m. in the morning. Dude, get some rest, man. Thank you for being on here. It was a TDI. Okay, very cool. It’s a good shaft. It should marry up to that one pretty good. That’s a good one. What do we got here? G27. After years of not being able to hit a hybrid and not successful and not succeeding, back to my two and three iron hitting them very well and high. Have you come across in the fitting? Yes, I have. Uh it depend there’s a couple of things that the reason why that works, G. Uh and it go it can go either way. And so what it happens is is that you may like a club that is flat. And if you like a club that is flat, the hybrid tends to work against you because they typically are more upright in their they’re more upright in their in their stature. So instead of being like this, they’re more like that. Okay, that’s kind of what we would see. Now the other part is it could be the other way around. uh pardon me that you like a more uprighted club and the you get like a pro model because you’re talking two and three irons. You might be a ball striker and the two and the two and the three are more upright where the where the uh the pro models and the hybrids are tend to be a little flatter. So, it can be the other way around. Uh, and that’s one thing that’s where I would look at that if you’re really looking at a hybrid, uh, and you’re just trying to knock one out there, uh, really give the, uh, give the sevenwood a shot and see. Now, if you’re back to the two iron or three iron, you could literally go into their driving iron categories and see if those work out pretty good, too. My one swing CBO1 iron blade length 76 7 iron has an offset of 0.059 even lower uh offset than the blade. Okay. Did you get one length again? Is that what the one swing CBO1 means? Is one length? All righty. Hello. My wife likes to video my swing and points out my issues. I tried. He didn’t listen. Well, yeah. Although I can say go back to the very beginning of the video and I did. All right. Mm. What do you say, man? I have a 29 Epic Flash CZ driver. Seems to be working best for me lately. even the new brands out there. What driver head will match the CZ Tylus T or24? Uh so the Z the SZ uh Epic flashes were for the more open face back in the day. So if you’re in the in the in the Callaway line, it would be the Triple Diamond. All right. even last year’s model, even this year’s model, the triple diamond would be much closer to that. Uh the titleist uh whatever the more players like is with the open more, uh fade bias club, that would be that club that’s for you. All righty. Hello. Hello. Mrs. McGolf took a woodworking class years ago. Teacher datoed his fingers with the table saw and dato blade. Yeah, that’s got to that’s got to hurt bad. And it makes you and it makes you jittery too after that. What is a trick you use to installing a two-piece superstroke long grip on an extra long on an extra club? Well, so a two-piece. So, there’s a couple of things. The two-piece is you have a smaller piece that’s about about that long, and then you have a longer piece. And uh they have to be at least I think it’s inch and a half, 2 in apart to be legal. Okay, so that’s number one. So what you do is you figure out on that putter where you want it to go and you mark the very end of the of the distance you want it to go. And what you do is that you put on you put the grip tape on it the entire way. Right? It’s going to be forever long. It’s going to be like this long. And you put it on the entire way. Okay. Then what you do is you get the, you know, you got the tape all secure and you get the bigger piece. And the bigger piece is really kind of quite easy. After this part, it gets easy. Anyway, what you do is you get the solvent in there. You get the whole thing. What is going on here? What the heck is that all about? Get up here, dude. There we go. just quit on me all of a sudden. Uh anyway, what you have to do is uh you put the the grip solvent all the way up and down all the grip tape and you slide the first piece on all the way to the very end where you want it. And if it’s got a flat, which it shouldn’t, or it shouldn’t, then you just align it the way you want it. Then the back piece, you just put you slide it on. You get solvent in it and you slide it on. You’re all good. Then what you do at the end is you go get yourself a utility knife with the flat blade and you just run the flat blade around the top and the bottom of the top of the bottom grip, the bottom of the top grip, and just cut those pieces loose and then pull it off. And voila, Bob’s your uncle. All righty. Tyler G2 driver with AD. There’s the UB. There’s the UB. That’s for the aggressor right there, which we know crystal is. Mini driver is out out of the bag because missing long drives can’t hit the G2 hybrid to replace the mini driver. Yeah, they do have that. Now, I I I will say that my uh my 18 degree hybrid comes really really close. Now, my regular driver, I was really close to it as well, so that wasn’t much for that. Miss McGoff says, “Thanks for joining. Hit that thumbs up before you go, guys. John says he’s 6’5 and was originally fit many moons ago. The driver length was 43 and 3/4. Then they made longer drivers. The transition is very difficult like in the shorter length. That’s what we’re talking about, bud. Even at 65, if you have longer arms, you know, uh normally at 6’5, the wingspan starts getting out there and you still don’t need that longer driver. One swing. Okay, good, good, good, good. It’s only a name they reused. Very cool. Okay, well, look at that. Chris’s the last one. We got her right down to the very end. That was very neat. Lots of new questions. Thanks for the new people that were on here. Uh, make sure that you’re you watch for the new videos that are coming out. We’re going to be talking about a wedge, right? We’re going to be talking about a wedge. Probably go out and play with it for a little bit. That should be a lot of fun. and uh and we’ll and we’ll talk about how that works. So again, if you would like, subscribe, hit the hit the bell down below so you get notifications. Number two, if you’re into a whiskey or a bourbon and golf together, check me out at Pars and Pores. Thank you very much. And number three, as always, let’s see your scores. Go low.

I'm 5'6 and taking an inch off the driver and 3w has done wonders to my game 😁
Itching to get a GT280 to test out on the course.
