In this ultimate golf wedge review for 2025, Jack Backhouse is joined by Tom Irwin from National Club Golfer to put the newest short-game clubs through their paces. If you’re wondering what the best wedges of 2025 are, this is the only video you need to watch before making your next purchase.
We test five of the most talked-about models in the golf world: the Titleist Vokey SM10, Ping S159 wedge, TaylorMade MG4, Cleveland RTX 2025, and the brand-new Callaway Opus Tungsten. These wedges represent the best in golf club technology this year, each promising elite spin, precise control, and improved turf interaction.
Using real-world short game scenarios—pitches, chips, flops, and bunker shots—we explore how each wedge performs under pressure. We also analyze full swing shots using TrackMan data to compare spin rates, launch angles, and distance consistency, making this a comprehensive golf equipment review for players of all levels.
Whether you’re a low handicapper chasing Tour-level performance, a mid-handicap golfer looking to sharpen your short game, or a weekend player wondering which gap wedge, sand wedge, or lob wedge will give you the most confidence, we break it all down. We also discuss wedge gapping, bounce and grind options, and the importance of proper wedge fitting for improving your scoring around the green.
If you’re searching for honest, hands-on insights into the best golf clubs of 2025, this video has it all—from in-hand feel to spin control and shot versatility.

Welcome to NCG Your Golf. This channel is for you, the dedicated club golfer to help you improve your game and enjoy your golf more.
We specialise in equipment reviews and golf instruction, and we are lucky enough to play some of the Top 100 golf courses in GB&I.
The channel is hosted by PGA Professional Jack Backhouse, and he will help you improve your golf by helping you fix your slice, fix your gook, help you drive the ball longer, strike your irons pure, and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
Steve Carroll, an R&A rules official will often stop by to ensure you are not breaking the rules and get the opinion of an average club golfer.
Jack will dive deep into technology in reviews of all the latest golf equipment, helping you decide which is the longest driver, which fairway wood will stop you from topping the ball, and which wedges will pitch it closer, so you can lower your scores.

That Ping grip is interesting. Is it standard?
Ping also best on wet grass! Main reason i went with it as I play in early dew conditions. Thats the only one that spins consistently in wet
Ben Hogan Equalizer II and Bettinardi are both very, very good options as well. New Misuno.. also thumbs up. All on this list are worthy of the praise, though.
