41 year old Charlie Morton has gotten off to a miserable start for the Orioles but he has really bounced back the last month. His first nine starts was 0 to 7 with an er a almost 10. His last seven starts after he went to the bullpen, he’s 5 to 0 with an er a under three. Brandon Nimmo leads off first pitch by Morton hit on the ground toward the middle of the diamond and that’s going through for a base hit on the very first pitch of the game. That’s how brandon Nim’s 1/1000 major league game begins walks and the Mets have 1st and 2nd. Nobody out. And Juan Soto coming up, that one goes off the mid of stallings to the backstop and on the pass ball, the Mets have runners at 2nd and 3rd breaking ball gets him one out for Alonso. It is, there’s a curveball on 32 and after the Mets put two in scoring position, Mortin strikes out Juan Soto and Pete Alonso and now he’s got a chance to get through the inning and a breaking ball is popped up. Vasquez back from short with the early call. Luis Vasquez makes the catch boy. 2nd and 3rd. Nobody out against Soto Alonso and Winker. That’s some Houdini stuff. David Peterson is coming off a really good start last time out against Milwaukee after a couple of rough ones, he really bounced back and pitched a big game Jackson holiday and here’s a young left hander be who’s really started to look more and more comfortable against lefties of late slider in and Holliday punches it up the middle so it wasn’t a fastball, but Peterson threw it in. Jackson’s sweet spot so quickly they are two out after the leadoff hit by Holiday, Tyler o’neill, the cleanup man for game one and he pops up a first pitch curveball. Alonso into foul ground right to the railing, reaches webbing to pull it in nicely done by Alonso and it winds up being a six pitch inning for Peterson drew his first time up flied the other way. A base hit for the SOTO chops one slowly. Holliday comes in to get it and makes the backhand flip. Not soto just able to beat that play. He was half stepping it to first base and SOTO had been out. It would have been a not a good visual. Now you got Pete to deal with 02 fastball to short Vasquez on a knee, Vasquez bounces it to first time. What a play. That is so good right there. What a play by the shortstop. Vasquez. Here’s Jacob Stallings and stallings goes down swinging on the back foot slider and there’s the first strike out of the day for Peterson who he’s now in the top 10 lefties, 552nd career strikeout Jackson holiday, a base hit his first time up and two coming swing and a foul tip held on to by to for strike three. So back to back strikeouts for Peterson to end the third mark. Vientos is batting for Jesse Winker in the DH spot Winker who just came back on Tuesday for more than two months on the injured list with an oblique injury is out of the game after one at bat and Vientos looks like the right choice is pitch hitter, but Liano takes it away just shy of the wall and left. We’re told back tightness for Jesse Winker and that’s why he came out after one at that Jordan Westberg, the batter swing a line drive base hit left field. There you go. And here’s Ramon Liano, the looper over Beatty’s head. He goes back. Can’t get a base hit around. Second comes Westberg who’s gonna fight for third, the throw by Taylor on a hop and he is out. Taone. Taylor guns him down, Tyrone charging that ball extra hard going to his glove side and Then spinning and firing a strike on one hop to third base and now a two away loo stands at third base that’s drilled to left on comes Nimmo and he makes the catch a bullet off the bat of Reyes and Nimmo going into a slide and making the grab to get Peterson through the fourth. Beatty leads off in the fifth against Charlie Morton 3 to 2 to Beatty two high ball four. This time, the Mets have had the leadoff man on since the first inning. He’s gone curve ball for a strike. The throw to second is not in time and beat. He’s got a stolen base two and two to Taylor and that’s rifle down the right field line that’s going to go into the corner for extra bases who would score the first one of the game. Taylor stops at second base with an RB I double Tyrone Taylor and the depth of a slump drives one the other way to get the first run of the game home. It’s 10, New York just his third hit in his last 43 at bats and it snapped an zero for 17 for Taylor is coming up in here to left loo settles under. It makes the catch Taylor retreats to second on out. Number two, they have decided to walk soto. Well, it gives Alonso an opportunity with two on and two on and has been big in this situation. Well, it looks like he’s going to get a righty out here as Alonso flies to right. So the Mets get a runs, ran two more. They’ve left six now facing the lefty Cowser and a fastball got him looking third strike out for Peterson Ker was not looking for the fastball May. The right on the outside corner got him looking second called third strike in the inning for Peterson Vientos up for the second time gets that breaking ball and lines it to left center for a base hit cut off by Lorean’s going to try for second. Los got a great arm is safe at second base. So hitting the ball solidly his first time up this time finds the gap and he’s got himself a leadoff double Mauricio grounded out in flight out 2 to 2. There you go. Finally, a good hook. Dun’s been up twice, grounded out both times looped in the left by Taran Lorean slides into it. Another fantastic play from Lorean got the lefty up in the bullpen, but it looks like they’re leaving Morton in to face Beatty another 32 breaking ball good enough for Jansen Visconti strikes on and Morton strands another runner at second David Peterson with 64 pitches. Appeals to Jacob Stalin a base knock. How about that? Now, Jackson holiday is going to see David for the third time and a weak cut right in front of the plate. Torrens goes to second, gets the out there nicely done by tons. So Westbrook will bat left on right, a much bigger lead on the Peterson that perfectly after one throw over took an extra step and a half on his lead at Peterson guns him down. That’s his third pick off of the year. The 18th of his career. Holliday got a little frisky on his lead out to right center Taylor back in the gap with Soto and Taylor makes the catch and Then Rams Soto who is preparing to catch it as well. Fortunate that Tyrone was able to hang on. Soto got the chops. David Peterson is the only met in the last month, only met starter to throw a pitch in the seventh inning is getting out in the seventh inning and here he is again in the seventh and o’neill goes down swinging on the curveball two man down 02 out and nobody on and now Ramona Rees, he’s 0 to 2 on a and he struck him out, threw a fastball by him, six strikeouts for Peterson and he’s through seven scoreless innings and the Mets try to get him some cushion leading 10 as we start the eighth. Grant. Wolfram starts his second inning of relief facing Soto who is zero for two with an intentional walk. How about that? How about that? Grant? Wolfram just took out Juan Soto as Wolfram peers in delivers and a swing and a miss curveball gets the Polar Bears two out and now Vientos and he loops that one behind second that’s going to fall for a base hit. So now Mauricio will bat right handed for the first time. Today, Ronnie’s just two for 17 as a right hand batter struck out Mauricio three strikeouts in the inning bark at the Moon Grant from David Peterson out for the eighth inning Colton Cowser first man to face Peterson in the bottom of the eighth inning. Shoots the ball past there. It’s a leadoff base hit that’s going to be all for Peterson. David got one batter in the eighth inning and he’s pulled after 90 pitches and ryan Static will come on and as expected, Tony Manolin goes right to his left handed bench and he will send up gunner Henderson to bat for Luis Vasquez Henderson deep right field. Soto gives it lead in a pitch. Conor Henderson on the that’s gunner hender shot is what that is because that was a moon ball right there. Folks, Tony Mano pushing all the right buttons for the Orioles brings in Henderson a two run shot and here in the eighth inning, the Orioles a 2 to 1 lead moves to second one out. Orioles would love one more on the scoreboard right here. Pick off at second is late on ball four and here’s Jordan Westberg 32 inside another walk that’s three in the inning. And Then a golden opportunity here for the Orioles to add on. Don’t need a base hit to score a run. The sac fly works first pitch lined to right SOTO retreats makes the play. O Hearn tags from third. Holliday tags from second sacrifice fly Lorean. It’s a three run eight and a 31 lead o’neill takes it high ball four and the bases once again are loaded. Fourth walk in the inning and that’s going to be the end of the line for Ryan standing on. Austin Warren will come in and try and mop it up. Maria’s got jammed, popped it up on the infield and Alonzo takes charge of it to retire the side. It’s now 3 to 1 as Felix bautista takes over in the night time to turn him. Clocks back to mountain time. Felix bautista making his 34th appearance of the year looking for save number 18 two. Terrific at bats by Tonz and Baty but the Mets are down to their final out with Jeff mcneil coming up to pitch in in the air to left Colton Cowser who led off the eighth inning rally with a single ends the game and a 31 win for the Orioles through choppy waters. Smooth sailing in the ninth on Yacht Rock Day, 31 final.

  1. Every single MLB game is controlled by betting conglomerates. It is obvious if you just take the time to watch. Everything is owned by devil worshipping, child touchers and child fluid drinkers. Wake up and change the world.

  2. Is so crazy that we havent seen the best of the O’s if they wake up he second half the east going to be cray

  3. as a mets fan, I really love the orioles tv announcer Kevin Brown I think is the name? Anyway, I remember when he got suspended for talking bad about the team or something and Gary Cohen basically shouted him out and backed him up saying he was a very talented young announcer who didn’t do anything wrong.

  4. Why can’t Stearns at least give Sproat or McLean a try? Can it be that much worse than a bullpen game or Waddell or Hageman? And can he actually stop being a bargain shopper and get an actual bat? Winker is injured again and these boys cannot hit with runners on

  5. You'd think with the errors from the infield Soto would learn to hustle at seemingly routine plays. Thats gonna make him look bad one of these days

  6. Mets relievers have been proven to be the least effective in save situations. This should be a lesson taught for the Met's manager. You don't take your ace out of the game because he gave up a single hit in a game of no-run baseball for the other team…especially when he has a cannon of a pickoff move.

  7. Where is the idea that Winker is helpful..this is bench warmer all the way!Wasted outing of the pitcher Peterson, down the toilet..by this anemic line up!
