The President of the United States, who first took office in 2016 before winning again in 2024, owns several prestigious courses in Florida, New Jersey and Europe. However, it’s been a while since his top courses hosted a PGA Tour event. One of his top courses, Trump Doral in Florida, hasn’t hosted an event since 2016.

That’s about to change.

The Sports Business Journal is reporting that “five industry sources” have confirmed that the PGA Tour is set to return to Trump National Doral, the Florida golf course owned by Trump Organization, in 2026.

From the report:

Five industry sources said the tour is expected to add the event in the week of April 27-May 3. It’s not clear what the title sponsor will be, or who will operate the tournament. Industry chatter has been that it could be a Signature event.

That week falls between the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and the Truist Championship, a Signature event. The PGA Championship is the week following the Truist.

The course hosted the PGA Tour’s Doral Open from 1962 to 2006. The tournament then became part of the World Golf Championship in 2007 and it was held at the course until 2016, when it moved to Mexico City.

Now, one of Trump’s top courses appears to be on the verge of getting another top tournament.

The course has held several notable LIV Golf events over the years, but there’s nothing scheduled for 2026, which is opening the door for a PGA Tour return.

It’ll be interesting to see how many of the top players on the PGA Tour choose to play in the tournament at Trump’s course.
