The PGA Tour this week features the 2025 Barracuda Championship starting on Thursday at Tahoe Mountain Club in Truckee, California.

My PGA Tour field ranking for Barracuda Championship looks at the top 10 players in this 156-player field that brings together the best in the world for a unique event played opposite The Open under the modified Stableford system.

The Barracuda Championship is back, and the tournament has probably its best-ever field taking on the Tahoe-area course under the Stableford scoring system. It’s a tournament that encourages players to play somewhat aggressively as big numbers are all scored about the same.

Just a reminder that I make my expert picks looking at all fantasy leagues and formats. Whether you’re playing in a fantasy golf leagues, betting on golf, or competing in a DFS (DraftKings, FanDuel) event, our picks highlight the top PGA Tour golfers to watch this week from our 2025 Barracuda Championship rankings.

2025 Barracuda Championship expert picks and rankings

1. Ryan Gerard: Gerard’s game has traveled tremendously well on the PGA Tour this year, and there’s good reason to believe that continues this week.

2. Kurt Kitayama: Kitayama has won on a huge Signature stage on the PGA Tour, and his game is in pretty solid shape.

3. Max Homa: Homa has shown signs that his game is rounding back into good form, but there are other times where it looks way off. His record in California is quite strong.

4. Pierceson Coody: Coody has been tremendous on the Korn Ferry Tour this year, and he’s almost certainly heading back to the PGA Tour, so he can play somewhat free and clear here.

5. Cameron Champ: Champ has been in form, but it always seems like his focus and interest are a worry at times.

6. Beau Hossler: Hossler has been in the top 14 in his last two starts, playing similar competition to what he’ll see this week.

7. Vince Whaley: Whaley doesn’t always do great things, but he’s super consistent and has a trio of top-15 finishes in a run of eight-straight made cuts.

8. Rico Hoey: Hoey is a first-round merchant who is typically aggressive out of the gate and should benefit from playing that way for all 72 holes.

9. Kris Ventura: I keep pushing Ventura because the signs are there that he can win, but he has to put it together for all four rounds.

10. Patrick Fishburn: After missing six cuts in seven events, Fishburn has caught fire with a T-18 and a T-6 in consecutive tournaments.
