Netflix and “Full Swing” star Neal Shipley talks about his Ping G440 Max driver that he is using as a mini driver, plus why has two 3-irons in the bag.

yeah well this uh the 12° driver is kind of going to be in a situational Club it’s uh 440 Max Head uh it’s cut really short it’s like a three-w length and the idea is for it to be just kind of a mini driver one thing with the Mini Drivers is that they’re a smaller head and less forgiving but uh with this Max Head you’re able to have a really big head that’s you know on a really short shaft so you can kind of like feel really confident on it feel like it’s really straight we’ve been testing it out this week and I don’t know if I’ll go in the bag this week but certainly club we might use this year on the corn carry tour because there’s a lot of courses where you don’t need to hit it you know 300 you know to 280 in the air is better and you know it’ll be a lot more forgiving than the three would yeah the gapping here with uh 53 and three I found that with my old set I had a blueprint T and my six and five and then I went to the S and the four iron and you know six D was like 205 five was you know call it 215 and 4 was 22 so only 10 y gaps between each club and like on that end of the bag you didn’t really need you don’t need gaps that small so uh we ended up taking an s in the five which I hit too high and just cranking The Loft down um and that allowed us to kind of hit more of like a 220 window and then we took a three iron and backed it up a bit so that we’re hitting around 235 240 um and then we have this kind of beefed up three iron or we’ll go for a fivewood that’s kind of in like the 250ish window um just so we kind of we’re hitting clubs kind of in gaps of 15 20 yards at this end of the bag cuz you know I felt like it’ be a better setup for us you know when we’re playing courses we have to Long approaches in the greens
