let’s see where the longest hitter on the PGA Tour gets his power from the first thing you see with so many long hitters is a strong grip and the second thing you often see at shaft parallel is a ton of width and then as his back swing gets to left arm parallel that width starts turning into depth with a huge shoulder turn tpi has him at 99° and the one thing so many people don’t talk about is sequencing he gets into his lead side and his shaft is still parallel with the ground from here to harness that energy and turn it into speed he keeps his head behind the golf ball moving it away from the target transferring energy into the club

  1. the best thing any golfer can do is maintain their head in that box, center of the the rotation, and to rotate, not turn. then it is a matter of muscle, and practice.

  2. Why does no one talk about what the lead leg is doing? Its like some golf instruction conspiracy they they all leave this out.

  3. Anyone looks built in the golf world if need to hit the gym harder and they will all driver far not as far as him tho

  4. My question is always the same…. Can he control the ball? Nice to be able to put it in orbit, but can you make it count? Those days are gone as far as me is concerned

  5. Huge butt to brace against. Massive forearms this is a taller Lee Trevino with a longer backswing because it's more important to have the approach shot come down steeper than in the 70s

  6. Nobody will believe me but I've been playing golf for 4 months, no lessons. I hit a 357yd drive literally yesterday with 197mph ball speed. I'm 6'2 and 260lbs, trained weights for years. Being big and strong helps A LOT!

  7. For a big boy, the guy is flexible. This boy can move a golf ball. He just won last week. 20 y/o kid.

  8. With all that speed his trail elbow still does not get stuck behind his body causing an early closing of the clubface.

  9. Bull-$hit! Distance does not come from a "Happy Gilmore" wind-up; no way, it comes from the forearms and the wrists. Look at Xander S! Distance comes from the forearms and thumbs. Watch his wrists bow down from thumb-pressure on the shaft at impact. Also, note that he rolls his left wrist under at impact. Sure, he gets his fat-a$$ into the ball, but without the thumb-press & the wrist roll, he'd only hit 200 yds. The T-P and R-R give him another 130 yards with the driver.

  10. It would be more impressive if he was 25-30 years old and a more normal weight. But when you have the insane flexibility of a 20 year old along with being built like a literal train, it isn't surprising at all being able to hit 190 mph ball speed.

  11. The width and the extreme sholder turn create the power, his front side is actually coming up before contact. Plus he's a huge dude!! To much timing involved in this swing. Try and copy it?? No way.

  12. This is the thing no one is talking about this kid is only 20 years old from South Africa so all the rest of you PGA Pros look out

  13. His wrist is also cupped, which provides more club head travel in the backswing. All of the old timers that hit the ball a mile did this, but now, most, instructor teach a “flat” wrist at the top.

  14. Lots of factors, but watch the lead leg extension. All the big hitters have this. It's so powerful, his lead foot leaves the ground.
